The Carson Valley Market is part of the greater Carson Valley Inn complex with the hotel/casino and RV Park all adjacent. That may explain why the convenience store has a much better selection than expected, maybe due to "built in" clientele. And their good service clearly follows from that.

My most recent visit was the worst. I arrived at 6PM and even though it's supposed to be open until 8PM the manager yelled at me through the glass and said they were closed. I tried calling after that to check to see if it was ready. The first two times no one answered, but on the third try the manager said my prescriptions would be ready that Thursday. I waited until Friday to be sure and went in and waited in line for more than a half-hour. When I got to the counter, the manager said they hadn't filled them yet, per usual, and to stand next to an end cap for a half hour and wait for them. A half hour later he gave me one prescription and said they couldn't fill the other because they couldn't get it. I'm reasonably sure he was lying as he's lied about everything else. Even though I get my groceries at Smith's, I'm getting my prescriptions filled elsewhere from here on. Spending hours trying to get a prescription filled and being lied to constantly by the pharmacist in the process would be self-abuse if I kept doing it.

Sure, the food was less fresh than straight out of the kitchen, but it was still tasty, fresh enough, and a pretty decent deal at $10.99/pound. They also have a separate pizza table by the slice (or you can order whole pies), and 5 different soups (priced by cup or bowl). Not very crowded either time I came (5-ish), and after checkout, there were utensils, napkins, and water. Picked them up, and sat at a nearby, convenient table. All in all, a good experience.

Ordered an online order this week, and told us Tuesday it was delayed and asked if they could…read moredeliver it Wednesday. Well, Wednesday at 5pm and still no order. App says delayed. I called the store and after many attempts to actually speak with someone, they put me back on hold for over 15 minutes. After 37 minutes total with trying to cancel my order, I was able to contact someone from the service who was able to help me with the order. the local store is awful. customer service has gone to hell.
