Because we LOVE Cookie Cutters in Manhattan Beach, we expected the same experience in Fullerton but we were seriously wrong. The blonde woman running the place is rude, bossy, and demeaning. She talked down to us. I understand that we were late but we have 2 babies under 2 - to berate us like naughty children was unnecessary. Miss Katryna cut my sons hair but she clearly has no experience with kids - she didn't bother to learn his name, say hello to him, talk to him... she just sat him down and started spraying his hair with water, which he hated (at that point she should've sprayed the comb but instead she sprayed his head every time she made a cut, almost like she wanted to upset him more). She didn't bother to put on his favorite show. Admittedly, my son was really scared and did not sit nicely at all. I know it was a difficult cut because he squirmed and screamed the whole time. But barking orders at a scared kid and being rude to his parents certainly doesn't help. When she was done cutting, she didn't bother to dry or style his hair. She didn't give him the cut he asked for - his hair looks like Jeff Daniel's hair in Dumb & Dumber. I was so upset but just wanted to get out of there to soothe my son. As I paid, I was asked how much of a tip I wanted to leave. I asked for a moment to think and the blonde woman pressured me with - you should leave the standard 20% which is $6. Seriously?! I didn't want to tip at all after how awful they both were but since my son was so fussy I left $5. I reached out to the CEO of the franchise who responded quickly. He was kind, apologetic, and understanding, promising to have a chat with the store. They need some serious customer service training as well as techniques for handling scared toddlers. We'll absolutely use another Cookie Cutters but we will NEVER go to the Fullerton shop again and I suggest that you don't either if you'd like to be treated like a valued customer. read more

Seriously I don't know what happened today but we will not be coming back here. We had an appointment at 10:45. Got here at 10:45. They were busy because a stylist supposedly called in sick. That's fine, I get that. As we waited, I heard an entire conversation between the girl behind the counter and Samantha. Samantha was just wandering around and telling the receptionist girl about how since these people haven't showed up, they should be treated as walk-ins. However, they need to give them more time because they are new customers. The best thing about sitting and listening to them? Samantha cut my son's hair the last time we were here. Why couldn't she cut his hair instead of chatting with the girl behind the counter? Then they put my son in a car chair and leave him there. Samantha wandering around some more. Then people show up at 11:15 and Samantha IMMEDIATELY puts them in a chair and starts cutting. WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT AT 10:45 and my 2-year old is losing his patience FAST. I suppose our appointment wasn't as important as the 11:15 one since we aren't first time clients? Well, we will never be back. They keep saying we had an appointment with a specific stylist. This was the first place I took my son to get his first haircut ! It was the best decision. The young lady who cut my sons hair did such an amazing job (my son was moving and crying so much) she managed to leave everything PERFECT. I am so sad they are currently closed. This place is unprofessional and lacks customer service and proper scheduling etiquette. I made an appointment online through Google at 11:45am Saturday 11/25. I called and said I was 5 mins away from my appt time. The lady in the front who answered the phone said that is fine, no problem your stylist is running behind. I arrive at 11:53am..took me 3 mins to park and get my kid out. The lady at the front desk tells me, we have a 5 min grace period and therefore now, I have to wait about 25 mins because 2 people are ahead of me. I said fine, and waited the 25 mins, went back and waited ...only for her ASS to tell me that, "unfortunately we have to put someone else ahead my son again" I am sorry. Are you fucking kidding me! My sons appt was just for bangs THATS IT! I will be back on Monday to report this to the manager Barbie, and also get contact information for the owner. This is worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. It seems these kind of establishments are just crap in general. I'd rather pay the $30 + tip to a barber or stylist who runs their own chair and has BETTER scheduling methods and etiquette not these crappy places. read more

It was so convenient for me to book an appointment online right away. When we got there, we were serviced right away. We didn't really pick anyone because its our first time. So we ended up having her as the stylist and it was amazing! She's so gentle and patient and love that she gives advice on how I can style their hair. Took my 2 boys for a haircut but they only accepted one, I was told they were booked for the day but there was no one waiting. Haircut was ok, not great, there was a couple of places that were uneven. After my 3 year old had his haircut I asked again if there was any way to get a haircut for my older son and was asked to come back later, again there was no one waiting and the place was empty not sure why they wouldn't accept both boys, haircuts only take 10-15 mins and the whole time we were there no on walked into the salon. Just saying if they really wanted to make us happy and provide excellent customer service they would've took both boys in so I wouldn't have to drive back 5 hours after. Doesn't really make any sense and not very helpful, why would I want to drive twice to the same place with two toddlers. Pretty bummed out and I will be taking my boys to a new place. Took my son and daughter today (7/29/22) and what a horrible experience. The lady cutting my sons hair rolled her eyes at me 4 times just because I wanted my sons hair a specific way. The lady cutting my daughters hair was nice but my daughters hair came out horrible. I asked for it to be layered and she just chopped the back instead. They Make their appointment every 30 minutes so they're rushed, my daughter was in the chair 19 minutes and she said she was done. I had to tell her twice to cut the long hairs from her bangs. For them charging 27 dollars a kid they should be doing a better job. This place is for parents who really don't care about their kids hair and just want to shorten their hair. I'm seriously so amazed right now. Our son is 2 1/2 and after being trapped in the house for a year on quarantine he's not great with people or with being places that are new to him. While he got pretty hysterical at his first haircut (which we expected), Barbie was calm and collected and handled it like a champ. She was extremely patient and totally understanding. First let me start off by saying my stylist did a great job! This is not about her services, but this IS about this particular location's lack of enforcing parents to wear a mask!!! Life is different after Covid. I understand that. There is going to be a new normal where we have to wear masks. I took my child in today for a haircut. They are currently not taking walk-ins, appointments only, and parents must be wearing a mask. It's posted on the door, as well as almost every other business door. Children 2 years and older have to wear a mask, but they understand if the children doesn't want too. I was surprised to see that 3 different sets of parents were not wearing masks. The man working the front and stylist did not say anything to them. When I asked my stylist and the man working the front about the policy with the mask, I was told by both that parents must wear a mask or they won't be able to come in and have their child's haircut. So when I confronted the man at the front about his parents not wearing mask he told me he didn't even noticed and that "that it slipped by him". Which is hard to believe when there's three different sets of parents not wearing mask and he dealt with all of them because they had to pay! Just a heads up. If you believe wearing a mask is part of the solution to preventing the spread of Covid, be advised that this particular location may not be taking protecting others as serious as they should be... read more

We had a great experience at Cookie Cutters. The salon was very clean and staff was friendly. I love that I can book an appointment online, which is super convenient. I hate having to call and figure out what times do and don't work. Each station has a fun car or airplane for your child to sit in with a TV in front of the station. We were in and out in about 15 mins. At the end of the cut, he got a balloon and sucker, which my two year old loved. Took my son with out an appt for his first haircut on a Monday mid day because of all the reviews, he liked the cars but didn't want to sit bucked (that's a toddler for you) so the stylist let him sit on my lap. Hairy cut was great, But I only have 3 stars because we only acknowledge with a hello and the girl went back to cutting the client she had. Then another customer came in and she never acknowledged him so after a few min he left . Another girl came out and asked if we had been helped (it had been about 5-7) since our hello and we said no. She then said well I'm on lunch but I'll put you in the system and then when I'm back I'll help you. I used Groupon and love the attention to lids detail with the play area, car chairs, and Netflix but I never even got the name of who cut my sons hair. And the other girl wasn't very friendly either. Another customer came in while we were almost done and the other girl sat him next to us and told her your request is here now so I'm sitting them here instead of them waiting in the waiting area. I took my 21-month-old son for his first haircut experience at a "salon". Jasmine was his stylist and she is truly wonderful. She took her time cutting his hair using both scissors and a trimmer. I don't put pomade or gel in his hair so I needed a good "dry" cut. She was able to achieve the look I was going for. It's very kid friendly of course, all the chairs were either cars or planes (super cute!) and there was a mini play set when you walk in in case you have to wait a bit.
