They do nice fades and IMO all the kids hair cuts are very similar. If you want a more trendy cut like those taper fades, burst fades etc.. go to a barber not here. Overall, I'm happy with their services. My only complaint is that the pricing is inconsistent. It used to be $22 a cut when we first came, then went up to $25/$28 a cut last year depending on who was collecting the money at the register, then came back in June before his birthday and was $28 a cut. Came today 2 months later for a cut before school and the cut is now $33.

The place is neat and clean. Staff are wonderful as usual. We always go with Gladys the owner. She just knows what to do with my kids' hair. Highly recommend anyone with kids to come!

When I got there the lady with short dark hair was busy, so they passed my precious 3 year old boy with shoulder length hair to the man that works there. My 3 year old has been there twice before and sits still and is well mannered. He cut my child's hair so poorly and left scissor marks and when we got outside there was a cut on his skin by his side burns. Mom's let me tell you I was upset! No one cuts my kid. This just the tip of the iceberg, midway through my 1st child's haircut my 2nd child had his haircut by the lady it was fast and they were done before my 3year olds haircut bc the man clearly didn't know how cut hair Finally, the two were done and I pointed out the marks on my toddlers hair. The lady just walked away didn't care and started calling for this adult man in line that it was his turn to get his hair cut. I said what about my daughter? Reader, she had the audacity to yell back "I understand!" Clearly she didn't. I said "Nevermind we're leaving" And when I said leaving I meant for good. I will NEVER go back there. Absolutely horrible experience. My daughter was sad she didn't get her haircut so I made it up to her and took her to Great Clips in Whittier (Araceli helped us, she was super nice) *************** 7/22 Since I can't reply to the owners response. I'll just edit my review as they respond. I called to reschedule or cancel my appointment for another day because I wouldn't be able to make it at 3:30pm. They greedily said no they would be able to accommodate me and take me in at 4pm. I didn't push it, they insisted. I let them know I had 3 kids. So tell me Ms. Clara since you're saying each child take 30 minutes and you are saying you close at 5pm. Why did you insist on me coming in and then angrily complain when you had clients to service? Also, why are you saying I should have spoke Spanish if you're insisting you don't have any troubles speaking and communicating with clients in English? Hmm seems to me there's a lot of contradictory statements in your rebuttal. Now let's address, the want to fix it part. While they were cutting his hair they said they could keep cutting it to "fix" it. Absolutely not, as they already cut my babies hair too short to begin with and cut my baby's skin. What else could have been done to fix this hair cut? Balding him? Pass. I had to get him out of that situation. The man who was cutting his hair the whole time was asking the owner for help because he had no clue how to cut hair. This is who you hire to cut children's hair? Really? I should have checked that man's barber/cosmetology license.

I called this salon last minute to check if they had any availability, and the receptionist said yes, so we headed over for a 6:30 pm appointment. We arrived on time, but when we got there, it felt like they were already closing up for the day. The receptionist was extremely rude from the moment we walked in. What really upset me was how she treated my son. Even after he politely asked for a balloon (something they usually give to kids), she ignored him. I ended up giving him a lollipop myself, and the only reason for the cold treatment seemed to be because I had to change my baby daughter in their restroom. We came here expecting a friendly, kid-friendly experience like before, but instead, we left feeling unwelcome. Definitely not the kind of customer service a family-oriented salon should have. read more

I had my husband take my two girls there for a shampoo, wash and hair cut. First, my girls came back home with wet hair. I have never known a saloon that does not blow dry hair and sends them home that way. Second, my 4 year old had bangs and needed a trim on that. Wow!!! It's like a blind person gave her bangs. I was shocked when she came home. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I'm disappointed since the first time I was there, i had a good experience with a male hair stylist. I don't know the name of the girl who cut my girls hair but no matter, the salon manager/owner should never have let the girls leave with wet hair and messed up bangs. I can't even fix her bangs. Not ideal for holiday pictures. read more

I've been bringing my 3 kids here for a little over a year. Miss Helen and Miss Barbie are phenomenal with kids. The staff is always friendly including the front receptionist. They are always professional. I've been there during times where they get a ton of walk ins at once and they are always so patient. I had a little bit of a miscommunication on my booking, I didn't realize I needed to book a different appt for my daughters and Miss Helen provided an exceptional service. I had appointments scheduled for the 11:15-11:30 time slot, but I ended up waiting for 20 minutes without receiving any service. Surprisingly, customers who arrived after me were attended to first, while my child and I were completely ignored. This was a significant waste of our time. I found it highly unprofessional that this employee couldn't ask at a better time or in private, rather than having the entire conversation right in front of a customer. It felt like a child demanding attention from a parent. I kept quiet, but the situation made me uncomfortable. After checking in, I sat in the chair for my haircut and explained the style I wanted. Tracey began speaking to me in an incredibly loud, shouting tone, even though I was only an inch away from her. It seemed like she wanted to put in the absolute least amount of effort possible. I pulled a leave-in conditioner packet out of my purse to apply before the cut, and Tracey snapped at me, shouting, "Can you apply that afterwards because I am allergic to stuff?" I remained calm, but the environment was becoming increasingly hostile. It felt as though she simply had an aversion to high-end products. While this was happening, another customer walked in. Tracey immediately started greeting them, and while she was putting the cutting cape on me, she asked if I even had an appointment--despite the fact that she had already checked me in and asked me to seat down! In other words, she was subtly implying she would rather take the walk-in than cut my hair. All of these incidents occurred within a brief 10-minute timespan. The entire experience felt like hell. I am sharing this because the customer should always come first. I was never disrespectful or unpleasant during my visit, but I am not someone who can be pushed around. This issue is going directly to corporate. I believe in speaking the truth when experiencing unfortunate and abusive service, and I will never set foot in this low-class establishment again. I had a very disappointing experience with Miriam at the Great Clips in Brea. I brought my…read more3-year-old son in for a haircut and explained that, because of his age and his difficulty sitting independently for a haircut, I needed to sit with him in order for him to remain calm and safely get his hair cut. Miriam completely refused to cut his hair unless he sat by himself in the chair. I explained that he is only three and that this would not work for him. I also explained that at the Fullerton Great Clips location, the stylists have allowed me to sit with him without an issue. Her response was simply that it was "the stylist's preference." What bothered me most was the lack of willingness to work with us at all. I wasn't asking her to do something unreasonable I was trying to tell her what I know works for my own child and what would make the haircut easier and safer for everyone involved. Parents of very young children, especially children who may have sensory or developmental needs, know that sometimes a little flexibility and patience are necessary. I ultimately left without getting his hair cut. I understand that stylists may have individual comfort levels, but I was extremely disappointed with how dismissive the interaction felt. After having much more accommodating experiences at the Fullerton Great Clips, I would not return to the Brea location or recommend Miriam for a young child who needs a little extra patience or support during a haircut.
