We will not be ordering from this company again. We brought these to a work function, and unfortunately, everyone ended up throwing them away after just a few bites. They tasted stale, were extremely hard, and were overwhelmingly sweet. Very disappointing and embarrassing, especially when serving them to a group. read more

I ordered a Sympathy Cookie Bouquet from my sisters and I for a friend who suddenly lost her husband. I went online and ordered it Thursday 8/29 to be delivered on Sat 8/31. It stated that their baskets were "hand delivered". I was overwhelmed when I received a call on Sat morning around 10:15 from the gentleman who made the delivery. When he first introduced himself, I thought, oh no, no one is home! Much to my surprise he was calling to let me know that he had just delivered warm cookies to my friend. He stated that she was so over joyed and touched and he wanted to let me know the impact that our gesture had on her. He said we made her day. I in turn responded the same thing to him. I couldn't believe he took the time to call me and share that feedback. That made my day and eventually my sisters as well. He then thanked me for my business. Next time we have an occasion that cookies would be appropriate for, COOKIES BY DESIGN will be my go to! BTW I have shared this story numerous times this past weekend. I picked out an arrangement that reminded me of the Disney Parks attraction "It's a Small World" for the cast members of the Disney Store in St. Louis Premium Outlets. With their soon-to-be closure, it was important to me to give them something meaningful with a hint of Disney magic...and something deliciously sweet (because who doesn't love cookies?!) The boutray turned out beautifully, and I appreciated they offered an option that opted out of cookies with nuts for those who may have an allergy. The lady that gave me the arrangement was very sweet and you could tell a lot of love went into making this on their end. The cast members at the Disney Store were teary-eyed with the surprise and said the cookies tasted wonderful. This shop actually looks a bit dead from the outside. I don't ever see anyone coming or going. So I was a bit curious to see what they offered and how there cookies tasted. So I stopped in today. Supposedly they are known for their "cookie bouquets". Although I think that can be greatly disputed. I walked in and saw the bouquets displayed throughout the little store. They also sell an assortment of cookies for $1.20 but today the special was half off on gourmet cookies. So when I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and candy bar cookie the total came to 1.20. Thats not bad. However, when I got home and tasted the cookies I kind of understood why they had a 2 for 1 special. The cookies are kind of nasty. I was so hopeful that this could be the bakery I had dreamed of. Close by, nice prices, great tasting cookies. It's not. I don't think i'll be returning. The customer service was sketcy too. She just didn't have any excitement about the cookies. She was a bit dry to say the least. read more

I received a cookie arrangement from a relative who lives out of state as a Christmas present and it was absolutely beautiful. However, it was the most disgusting cookie I have ever ate and I am sure it wasn't cheap. The cookies tasted like paper. I am quite sure they aren't homemade everyday. Great looking and great tasting Christmas cookies. My daughter got one as a favor at her class party. It was huge! We split it between the whole family the next day and it was delicious. I am in Connecticut, and my husband has to travel back and forth to St. Louis for work. I usually send him Edible Arrangements, but their prices have been ridiculous (almost $100 for a small basket and a balloon?!) and he is only in town for a few days. I had been looking for something for DAYS since he was out of town on his birthday -and a quick Google search brought me to the Cookies by Design website. Same-Day delivery caught my eye - I was able to place the order and have it delivered within hours, all from the comfort of my office. Imagine his surprise when he returned to his hotel room from his meeting. The customer service was great. The handwritten note was a great touch. The balloon was cute.
