We have been here about 3x I would say out of 3 this is the overall average. When it's not busy the integrity and taste of the food is better, not to mention the service. Wait was over estimated time and service was a bit slow. One menu for our table of four and three waters. The waitress lost our order and had to come back to get it again. Food: patty melt was good, the rest (bacon burger, classic burger and povire burger)- burnt burger patties and dry, my girls did not finish their burgers due to the taste and the first batch of fries where crispy and great, the second batch was soggy and a disappointment. The only first available seating was at the bar. So my awkward self sat there. That is totally not my scene or type of seating, but I embraced it. I ordered my water with lemon, and participated in the all you can eat wings for that night. I did two rounds. They had a nice crisp and flavor to them. The wings are scrumptious! I did not get a burger but, I did hear other patrons brag about their burgers. The interior was small and eclectic. The exterior dining looked great. I want to start by saying that CBB has some of the best burgers around--absolutely delicious, especially on that perfectly toasted brioche bun. I make it a point to stop by Cook's whenever I'm in Williamsburg, and I usually have nothing but great things to say about this place. However, I felt it was important to share something I witnessed during my visit on Sunday, April 12th, while sitting at the bar enjoying my meal. At one point, I overheard the male bartender say, "I'm working with idiots," after a young server asked him a question. I later asked one of the staff members if I could speak with a manager, and she informed me that the bartender was the manager on duty. Because of that, I didn't feel comfortable addressing my concern directly with him. It was disappointing to hear a manager speak that way about staff, especially when the team was clearly working hard to keep up with a very busy shift. While the young man he spoke about didn't seem to hear the comment, I believe at least one other staff member did. I do want to recognize the rest of the team, who handled everything with professionalism and grace. One young woman in particular stood out--she was constantly moving, cleaning tables, managing glassware, stocking, and helping wherever needed without pause. This experience won't stop me from returning, as the food truly is outstanding. I simply hope to see a more respectful and supportive management presence during future visits. Ive been wanting to try Cook's Burger Bar since they've opened. I originally messaged them asking about their wing options and sauces to see if I could eat them as I'm gluten intolerant. The person was very friendly vs just sending me the menu as I've experienced with some places. I was finally in the area walking my dog and decided to grab takeout before heading home. This felt a bit risky since I've never dined here before. I liked that their ordering system you could mark gluten allergy very clearly. I ordered a bacon burger on a gf bun. It came with a sauce and I marked sauce on the side. You can add fries for $4 which is great. Since I wanted to indulge I ordered the Farmer's Fries instead which has tons of garlic, pecorino cheese and a garlic aioli. Once I arrived my food was ready. I asked someone at the front a question about the sauces. He stated they weren't gluten free. I am going to give the benefit of a doubt he was thinking I said vegan as he stated it had "mayo, mustard and ketchup" which is generally gluten free. This caused me to be concerned as the sauce was put on my burger vs on the side. I went back in to confirm and the cook stated it was gluten free. I never want to be "that person" but also want to ensure what I'm eating is safe. Overall, I enjoyed my food and even after a 20 minute drive it was still delicious. Next time I'm in the 'Burg I'll be back to try their wings. read more

We visited Cooks Burger Bar after doing a haunted tour in Williamsburg and really looked forward to a good burger. My boyfriend got the bacon burger with the farmers fries and I got the pot roast with potatoes. We got 2 orders of the David's scotch egg. To be honest the food was a let down. The pot roast was very salty and the fries were a huge portion but were a little burnt. The scotch eggs were very bland and the outside portion that was deep fried had no flavor. The burger was middle of the road nothing special but decent. HOWEVER!!! I would come back for the service alone because our waitress was absolutely incredible. She was honest about what she liked and was super funny, nice & speedy! The ambiance was dim lighting and there was an amazing artist playing guitar. The bar is fully stocked and the staff were all very attentive and nice. We ordered the 1/4 single and they ask if you want pink or no pink. We're a pink kind of family. When the burgers finally came out, I took one look at the thickness of the patty and thought there was no way it could be pink. The patty's are thin and big around, (so yes a quarter pound - the half pound is a double). Much to my delight, there was pink and it was super juicy! And oh those fries! Hand cut and super yummy! They lose a star because I just can't get over the serve yourself water. Now I get it, I've seen the owners comments on a couple of reviews that it's to save water, reduce footprint, etc. honestly it probably saves the servers mileage, which again I totally get. But no ice? Lukewarm water? I was not a fan. We will be back again, there are a few other things I really want to try on the menu. But who am I kidding? It's the burgers we'll be back for! read more

A must try! This burger bar feels like a new age diner with the old age decor and a yacht rock playlist on loop. The staff was above & beyond friendly. They served quickly and were available the entire time. I sat at the bar since most of the tables were taken. The hamburger was cooked perfectly & tasty. I tried the Deviled Eggs but wasn't the biggest fan. They were salty in my opinion. To be fair, I'm not a fan of Dijon mustard but I immediately tasted Dijon when I bit into them. The sign outside said "a friendly joint". It was...all of the staff was very nice. Izzy was our server and Andy was in training both did an excellent job! They were also very patient with me and my myriad of questions. The food was awesome. The burgers were perfect. My mother inlaw got a hotdog that she raved over. The Andy was great and inviting. Savanna L. was funny and nice as well a other staff. My opinion is this location is trendy and fun with good decor, a pinball machine, couple of electronic games and full bar. Seating includes booth's, 2 & 4 topers and plenter of bar stools. This is a unique burger bar with interesting combinations and more unusual starters. I was intrigued with the Spam fries so I started with one order to share with wife. They are flash fried and then tossed in honey for the salty and sweet experience. My wife had the patty melt which seamed to be your usual sandwich. I ordered the muffelatta burger which included sliced Virginia ham, swiss cheese, patty, lettuce, garlic mayo and vegetable giardiniera. Stumbled across this little place while visiting Williamsburg for our daughters birthday. They were busy and there was a little bit of a wait. However they have a little QR code that you scan to join the waitlist. It updates regularly and they send a text when the table is ready. It was a Friday night and again very busy . When we first joined the waitlist, it was a 35 minute wait . And we definitely did not wait anywhere close to 35 minutes! It was more like 15. Understandable for a busy night .The atmosphere was awesome! Super cozy and inviting while maintaining that family friendly vibe. The staff were super welcoming and friendly! Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when helping us decide our orders. The food was out FAST! We all ordered burgers. They were pure perfection! Chefs kiss! Yall the food was bangin'! Omg and the milkshakes! Sooooo good! I can't recommend this place enough! This will definitely be our new go to spot for food every time we visit Williamsburg!
