I loved the retro themed venue and menu. Wood paneling, old-school beer signs, and linoleum flooring made it feel like I was back in my parent's basement circa 1985. The mixed drinks were stiff and uncomplicated. The rosemary sea salt and blood orange marcona almonds were heavenly. But that is where this great reviews takes a nose dive. The $13 burger had two thin patties and the pastrami Mac and cheese ($16) had so many onions in it that it was inedible (unless you want a huge bowl of them). The meatballs and gravy ($8) were decent, but again, covered in so many cooked onions and oh, yes, fried onion rings. Finally, the Farmer's Fries were BURNT to the point I initially thought they were sweet potato fries, and for $10 I was expecting more than shredded Parmesan and parsley. This place could have been a new cult classic, but instead it's the new total flop. Stop putting so many onions in every dish!! read more

Pick up a delicious meal. My husband got the barbecue wing ; "good!" I got the classic burger - very tasty. My only comment is that it was a smash burger...not my favorite. I was looking for a smaller bun and fatter meat. Also, the tomato was too small, the greens, etc. were excellent. My husband is happy with his classic fries. I got the Farmers fries -highly rated. I wanted to love it, I really did! But, this new Williamsburg joint disappointed with an all-wrong Reuben. Some good fries and 20$ later I can only offer 2.5 stars. Reuben's are classics. Don't mess with them. Thinly sliced corn beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian or thousand island dressing, all on toasted and buttered rye. Sadly, this was thick sliced fatty corn beef, Swiss cheese, and some sort of dressing concoction that had onions. Onions!! Greasy and messy. On the plus side, the fries were very good (small portion), and the staff friendly and fast. I'll be back to try a burger, but I can't recommend the Reuben. read more

This place stays super packed, so you know it's good. There's seating outside, a bar inside, & booths inside. There's also two tvs & music(i think alternative music). I was craving a cheesy burger & fries, so I ordered the cook's patty melt with fries. The burger had Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, caramelized onions, mayonnaise, garlic aioli on a toasted seeded rye bread. The fries were freshly made & seasoned with salt. Sooo so good. read more

Great place! Not only is the food great, but they don't use seed oils. My wife and I both had half of the bacon burger and the brisket "French dip" burger. Both were great. I preferred the bacon burger, my wife preferred the French dip. It was good, but a bit rich for my taste. We also got both the famous fries and the farmer fries with garlic. The regular famous fries were so good we thought they were the "fancy" ones (they came out first). The kids ordered off the kids meal and ate every bite, hamburgers and the snack plate. We ate outside and enjoyed it. Service was good even though we were outside. Highly recommend for a nice outing. In preparation for an upcoming trip to Colonial Williamsburg, this place was in my top 5 for fun, casual, well rated dinners. We arrived in town after a 14 hour day on the road. We were seated immediately and given cold waters and menus. Service was quick and friendly. What to choose?! The menu was small but offered something for everyone in the family. We ultimately chose the fries with cook's sauce and the au jus French dip brisket burger and mushroom Swiss burger. The fries were seasoned, hand cut and had skin on. They were topped with fresh herbs and came with a delicious house sauce. The burgers arrived next on a wood platter with a pickle. They were cooked to perfection (med rare) and came on fresh buns that complemented the burgers. They were juicy, all the ingredients were proportionately combined to maintain the flavors of each component. I am seriously contemplating skipping one of our other dinners to go back here again. I was so sad when my brisket burger was gone and wished there had been more. There was absolutely no room for dessert but would have loved to have tried their frozen dessert which was described as if whipped cream and soft serve had a baby. Outdoor patio seating, tables and booths inside and a small bar offer many options for seating. Sports on multiple tvs at bar and loud music played. The bathrooms were spacious and very clean. Today I visited for the first time and I am disgusted. I ordered a burger and fries - requested lettuce tomato onions & bacon. The burger came out COLD- the bun and patty (gross) the cheese, onion and bacon looked like it had been sitting! No tomato, no lettuce so I politely walk back in & ask for the tomato and lettuce the guy take the burger to the back & the employee grabs the LETTUCE AND TOMATO with his BARE HANDS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING as I'm standing right there watching Gross!!! We've eaten here twice. The food was very good. The burgers are fresh and offer some interesting toppings. I also tried the wings which have a very smoky flavor.
