We love Cooks!! Handsome used to live in walking distance of this place and this would be our go to every date night. The first time we came here we were a little intimated. I had this image in my head of The Blues Brothers and the chicken wire and beer bottles being flung. We don't drive motorcycles, we drive Hondas and we look like we are 12. Well everyone was very nice. This was when Joe still worked there and he got us all liquored up while we listened to The Liquor Bachs. After some liquid courage I got up on stage and sang two songs with them. Handsome danced with a 6'6 woman, I danced with an ex con and it was a great first time experience. From then on out we have become regulars. We love Misty on Friday night and Yuka on Saturday night. Two very lovely sweet women who know how to make a good stiff drink. Wednesday we come for spaghetti night and we bring Lil Man with us. Now I know what you're thinking a child in a bar? A biker bar?!! Bad Parents! Actually we have never had a problem. Everyone loves Lil Man. Yuka is always happy to see us and she normally has m&ms or something fun for our son. She is such a sweetheart! We love her! We have become friends with some of the regulars and we love Melvin Mitchell and The Third Degree Blues Band. They let Lil Man play the drums with them and they sang me Happy Birthday on my birthday. We also like the band Slingshot. They play some good classic rock. The Spaghetti Night is great! $4 all you can eat spaghetti (and it's good) and salad and garlic bread. Plus live music!! How can you beat that?! This is our Cheers. It's nice to go somewhere where everyone knows you and it's full of some great people. We will continue to come here as much as we can. read more

Cook's is pretty dope. Any reason to go for a ride and get some beers if fine by me. Food is decent, i'm fond of their breakfast. I pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying, but i didn't see anyone mention the nutter biker broad with all the daggers and leather?! You can't miss her, she's been there everytime i've ever been. You shall know her by her cancer inducing tan, skin that is just as leathery as her assless chaps, and a fondness for D&D style fantasy weaponry. :D ...and i bet she could suck a golf ball through a garden hose. She looks 80, but she's probably in her 50's i'd guess!? There's also always some old Cowboy lad hanging out smoking a sweet tabaccy pipe. Talk to him if you get a chance, he's cool as shite. Ask to see his magazine articles he always has with him. Anyways, if you're looking for a nice ride, def hit up Cook's, it's a fun ride getting there and they have nice ice cold Newie's. read more

This 5 STAR REVIEW is long overdue. During the summer my husband went on a bike run with friends. On their way to a bike event they stopped in at Cooks Corner. He sent me photos and updates sharing who he ran into etc....When I realized "Hey! I know that place!!" Cooks Corner is probably the best place to hang out in or stop for a quick beer and snack. But more importantly the staff is truly amazing! In July (I think) in 1976, yes many many years ago. I was riding on the back of a chopper Triumph bike. from San Francisco to a bike event in that general area. Well the bike went down and so did I .... I was very lucky (no helmet) but got the road rash from Hell!!! My forearms and both thighs on the front got it the worst! As I was thrown from the bike I slid and rolled on my stomach and kept sliding....thank you leather jacket and boots, at least I had a little protection. My jeans were literally burned off .....I had melted jean & gravel imbedded in my legs upper thighs in front, a little on my arms and palms of my hands. I don't know what really happened or why we went down (hey it was the '70's and thinking back now it's all mostly fog), or why no one called police or ambulance. we somehow made it to Cooks Corner, where hundreds of bikes were parked and all going or coming from a bike event....most likely the same event my husband & friends were going to. Anyway, when we got to Cooks, I don't know if it was the owner or waitress but a woman saw me, ran to me and came to my aid. She yelled out what she needed and I think it was a bartender that gave it all to her without question. She took me out back and very carefully got my jeans off. There was a lot of pain. She Hosed me off with what I think was a garden hose....I remember the water was warm at first then turned cool and felt good until it didn't..., I think I had a bottle of vodka in my hand she made me drink some right out of the bottle then poured the vodka on my wounds. yes, I screamed. then she proceeded to pick out the gravel and jean pieces from my road rash (beef jerky looking) legs. it took a long time at least an hour...honestly, it could have been hours. During which staff members would check in to see if I needed anything etc. Their kindness was amazing, and this lady with a rough smokers voice and tougher then any guy I knew was such a good soul it taught me more about compassion and empathy. Anyway, she poured the rest of the vodka on my legs and arms and wrap me up with something (not sure if it was some sort of homemade bandages) and somehow got a pair of jeans for me to put on. the legs were a little too big and short but I didn't care. I shoved the ends in my boots and very carefully tried to walk. I remember a couple of nuns came up to me and offered me a place to rest.(where the hell did the nuns come from, and why were they there is beyond me, maybe it was my delirium) but not being of sound mind (apparently) I declined because I was afraid they would call the authorities. so I spent a good day and a half at cooks. they took good care of me and I wish I could personally thank that beautiful lady again. I don't remember her name and I'm sorry and ashamed that I don't. What I do know it takes more then good food and good drinks to be an awesome bar, restaurant or any business...it takes a good soul and genuine care for their customers....they were a family and treat their customers as such. This is why they are still in business. That is why Cooks Corner will always be there to sooth your parched throat with cold beer, fill your empty belly with home cooked meals and put a big bandaid on your boo-boo. Except for a few "weird" scars I'm fine today. I never got that infection she was so worried about and they never asked for money!! Although, I gave them every dime I had along with the group of riders I was with we were all so grateful. Thank you again Cooks Corner and I'm so happy to see you are still thriving. I wish I had a photo of that day to post with HUNDREDS OF BIKES PARKED ALL AROUND including a couple of banged up bikes......I never did find my instamatic camera!! Great people. great service. Great place to go if you are a hick and OK with less then decent customer service. The few times I have visited this spot is only because my fellow rider friends want to eat after doing some "calm" riding in live oak (short but always sweet). The food isn't terrible, but slightly pricey for its mediocre quality. Their taco Tuesday deal is totally overrated. Del Taco or Fresca's are the places to go for that, unless you like dry meat and bite sized tacos - then stick with cooks. Most of the riders that hang at cooks are in the older crowd, rolling in on cruisers or harleys (and there is nothing wrong with that. but im in a sport bike club, and am far from middle aged). So the atmosphere is not quite the style for the younger generation. They have live bands that play a lot, but not quite my taste of music... There is plenty of outdoor seating, and a pretty variety on the menu. Full bar (though I don't drink), and on weekends they tend to have various merchandise for sale (relevant for cruisers and harleys). In all, its a decent spot to stop at for a break or a drink. Since there is nothing else around really, its your only choice for a quick stop. While I wouldn't call it one of the better places, its still a decent spot to come around once in a while and see some cool bikes and meet some cool people. read more

I would say one of the friendliest biker bars I have been to ( not a biker myself). The Chili dog was amazing, an decently priced beers/drinks also was a fun drive up to the joint. The pool table was a little run-down but it works none the less. Would def come back for the atmosphere during the summer time, they have a whole setup outside but right now is a little too cold to enjoy that. read more

There is some of me that wants to give Cook's 4 stars, and parts of me that want to give Cook's 2 stars. So I went with the 3 to be safe. I just started going to Cook's this past summer as it's about a mile from my boyfriend's place and he's been going here forever. I was so excited to check it out as I'm a fan of a good biker dive. I can say this... I don't really go to Cook's for the food. The food is mediocre at best, but I never went there really with high expectations for the food. I've only been there for breakfast though. They do have great bacon IMO though! On the weekends Cook's is the place to be around lunch time, especially when the weather is good. The bees can be an issue on occasion but nothing beats sitting outside under the trees with your friends and family while a great live band plays and enjoying cheap cocktails. To me, Cook's is all about the atmosphere and the experience and that's why we keep going back. read more

We came here after riding in the heat for a long time. Didn't have our masks and only had Apple Pay with us (make sure you have cash or a CC/debit card they have an ATM inside ). I have been coming to Cooks Corner since I was a child. And my entire large family still comes for random casual visits during the week to special occasions on weekends. This has always been one of our favorite places; good drinks, good music, and an amazing kitchen! I literally grew up here. Recently we have become so disappointed. The outside areas have become a political war zone. The owners have allowed this to become a divisive and uncomfortable environment. I am not taking any political side here, it is unacceptable no matter which side of political matters you are on. The outdoor vendors have shirts on display which are very pointed and aggressive. I heard more people bothered by this than not, even people we just met at tables next to us. But the worst part is that there were actual political activists in a tent outside with a petition to remove some politician (I'm not familiar with them). As we walked through the bridge toward the entrance they were set up right there and they were engaged in a yelling match with a bar customer and it was very uncomfortable and even felt unsafe, as though a physical fight was possible. This is not an acceptable environment for a good ol' canyon bar like this and totally ruined the mood. Also there were political flyers plastered up everywhere (with black duct tape) and it felt like more of a war zone than your friendly local bar. In the attached photos you can see the featured shirt hanging, the political flyers, and the woman in the blue dress who earlier was engaged in a loud argument with a customer. This place was always a great place for people of all walks to come together. Motorcycle enthusiasts, rock music fans, country music fans, billiards players, families, singles, military veterans, young people, etc -but now there is so much hostility outside and an atmosphere that instigates conflict. If management is reading this I highly suggest barring ANY political propaganda and getting back to Cook Corner's roots. A place to let loose and enjoy without bringing up politics or fighting. The only reason it is getting two stars from me is because: 1. The nice bartenders who are so helpful and work so hard. 2. the AMAZING kitchen staff who make some of the best old fashioned grill food. 3. The great choice in musical acts and outdoor setup and 4. Even the hard working custodial crew that we see working so hard to keep everything clean. Looking forward to updating my review if things change. read more

This is a dive bar for bikers. Know what you get here. Food wise, they have a huge menu, with everything from breakfast, to spaghetti and other pastas, tacos, burgers, and everything else in between. The bar isn't known for excellent service, but it has strong drinks. Most days there is live music here, and on weekends with good weather, there is a separate band outside, and the house band inside the main bar. Tons of motorcycles on the weekends, and a lot of people here. Not great food, not excellent service, not great music and bands, but good drinks and a friendly crowd. That's worth something, even if it's not perfection. read more

Place is a definition of a dive bar. Went for breakfast and missed it by a few minutes, so we ordered lunch. Not that great. Got a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a beer. Boyfriend ordered a BBQ beef sandwich, fries, and a beer. Beer was not cold enough. Sandwiches were typical bar food. Fries & bacon were great though. Stick to the fried foods there. Staff was rude. From the parking attendant, bartender, food service, and people in general. Bathroom was disgusting. Always wanted to stop here at least once. Now we can say we did. And never will again. read more

This is the place that used to be a genuine Hells angel stomping ground. But that was 40 Yrs ago. Now all the Harley riders and visitors are lawyers and business people during the week. Expect to go rustic and raw. That's the draw of the place. Rick people like to pretend they are slumming and rubbing elbows with real bikers. Often has live music and other family fare. We saw on a yelp review that dogs were allowed. We walked in to eat on the patio with our dog. As we walked in I saw a dog water bowl so clearly dogs had been in the past. Everyone was fine with us and our dog as we spent money and ate our food. Towards the end of our meal, a man came out trying to find the owner of an illegally parked vehicle. He walked past us. Again, all was good. My mom got up to go to the restroom and as the man made his way back he very condescendingly told me that dogs weren't allowed. "Do me a favor sweetheart, you're gonna take her up there to the shade and next time you're gonna leave her at home." Nice. Wow. I have never been treated so cruelly. I was run over by a car in Sept, and broke many things. I never go anywhere now because of it. My friends were going there, and I decided after 6 months of not being able to go anywhere I would meet them there. Horrible mistake. It takes me an ungodly amount of time to get ready, and get motivated to go anywhere. I was looking for the handicap parking and a guy who worked there told me where to go. When I found the place a woman who worked there told me he didn't know what he was talking about, they were full and "GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" with impunity and disdain. Nice to know they treat handicap people like that. There were many people still parking and going in, I guess they only yell at handicapped people to leave and go somewhere else. I will never step foot in this place again, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this as well. Being a bartender myself, it is A LOT of people. read more
