Stopped in their Quaker Rd location for a Cappuccino. Service was very slow. Only one employee working counter while two others were in the back. Nicely decorated Adirondack themed cafe. However, the smoke and odors from the Grill were overpowering. Apparently, this is an ongoing theme! They do have great BLT's and breakfast sandwiches but just don't wanna smell like one! There's no ambience at all here. The blender sits 12 inches from the service counter and you cannot even hear the staff ask you what you want while they're blending a smoothie for another customer, the tables are dirty and the place seems very untidy. I ordered a smoothie withprotein weigh in it and the total cost was $10.75. The smoothie seemed to me to be about 12 ounces? I'm guessing on the liquid volume, but that would be my guess. I got the peanut butter delight smoothie- delicious! And the "Big BLT" with turkey bacon on a sunflower seed bagel- both were so delicious! The woman was handling a line out the door all by herself, working amazingly fast, she does not mess around. I love the textiles, comfy booths & generally set up inside. There's plenty of parking and possibly even outdoor seating on warmer days if i'm not mistaken. This is a long way from home but I'd definitely return! read more

Soda I had was outdated September 24th. Wife got the big blt, she was fine with it, I personally didn't see the hubbub about it. Swung through after hitting up ADK Balloon Fest (which I *highly* recommend attending, btw). I envisioned it being an easy breezy stop for a quick iced coffee before I got back to my busy Sunday, but apparently so did everyone else in town because the line was out. the. door. when I pulled up. But desperately needing a caffeine fix, wanting to support local business, and having some (*tons) of hot air balloon photos to sift through, I figured I'd wait it out (arrived "early," around 9am!) Having worked in food service and seen the insides of kitchens of all sizes, I realize this kitchen isn't the easiest set up to crank out orders of breakfast sammies, toasted bagels, BLTs, or smoothies -- it's a pretty small workspace at the far end of the order counter. Additionally, this is an exposed/open kitchen, so the breakfast rush crew can't even roll their eyes or complain about customers or the high frequency of order tickets flying in without being seen or heard, so it's insanely impressive to watch them work so well together in sync. Even if they're screaming on the inside, they move quickly and efficiently, with a smile on their face, working as a team and keeping a positive vibe making conversation with regulars while keeping the line moving. I actually complimented a counter girl on everyone's teamwork and cheerful disposition despite the fast-paced shift, and she smiled and enthusiastically replied saying how much she loved working there. Cool! Always a plus when the staff is pumped to work there -- good juju. I waited 14 minutes from start to finish for a large and in charge iced coffee (sugar cookie FTW), which is pretty significant, and I found myself wishing they had an express line for "just coffee," but since I was able to get some work done on my phone it wasn't a total loss; plus if I was waiting in line with a friend the time would have passed quickly, so it wasn't too bad. I kept busy reading the descriptions of the coffee brews found in the carafes (fun!), and even though I was in the mood for iced coffee, I definitely purchased a small apple cider donut coffee to try as well. (spoiler alert: it was bomb! ‼) not too donutty sweet, and it absolutely had a hint of cider flavor to it. This time I asked for coconut milk, which they had in the fridge behind the counter, so my intestines and I appreciated the assistance to reduce my dairy consumption. I'm sure ADK Balloon Fest contributed to the influx of Sunday morning customers, but I think it would be awesome if they could implement some sort of express line so coffee buyers don't have to wait behind the peeps placing food orders, etc. I remember in grade school the milk buyers got in the cafeteria line *before* the kids who were buying a full lunch, so maybe that's a model to adopt ;) let's keep it moving, people! Good breakfast sandwiches, good BLTs. I stopped in this Cool Beans a couple times while my car was being serviced at the Ford dealer. Plenty of parking. The woman working there the two times I went was a little gruff and blunt, but was actually pretty friendly once she got working on the order. I think she gets annoyed with requests to use credit cards. The dining area is small but comfortable. Padded seats. The menu is limited. I can't comment on the smoothies, the coffee, the bagels. I've had a breakfast sandwich and a BLT there. Both were excellent. The BLT is their signature sandwich. You can get as much bacon as you want. Breakfast sandwich is cooked to order. If I lived nearby, I would go here more often. As it is, if I'm getting my car serviced I will schedule my service appointment so that I have time to walk over to Cool Beans and get something to eat. read more

Foodwise, their mediocre bagels are balanced by delicious egg and meat creations. But it's a coffee house and the great atmosphere, friendly staff and fresh-as-fresh-can-be coffee are why you here, right? They rotate their flavors every day but they always have their house blend and their "FOGLIFTER" brew, which is quite dark and caffeinated. They have some really nice flavors, all of which are available by the pound in whole bean format. Take a bag home. Because I said so. read more

Badass little breakfast place in Queensbury! Having driven past Cool Beans a few times during my stay in the area, when James F and I were in need of a quick bite and some caffeine, we knew we had to stop here. Huge menu! Tons of delicious coffee choices, awesome bagel selection, and plenty of other breakfast bites. James decided on a "everything on it, please!" bagel and I went with their Mexican burrito since I was craving something spicy. Seriously, you're away from Denver for a few days and the spice cravings kick in. The bagel and the burrito hit the spot! As did the latte and chai tea. Nicely done! They could almost be a 5 star place but their service just isn't there. I've gone at least ten times, every time hoping they would get it right but they don't. Usually there's a guy working the grill and register by himself when I go, he never writes down the orders and always forgets any condiments you want (salt, pepper, ketchup, etc). A couple times there has been others working, and occasionally they will actually write down your order, but even if they wrote it down 97% of the time they do not get it right. Of the 10 times I've been there has been 1 single time I got the condiments I ordered, without having to go back inside and ask for them. read more

This place is possibly the worst quick stop/cafe I have ever been to in my life. The minute another bagel shop opens up anywhere on the east side of Queensbury this place will be gone. They survive only because of location and complete lack of other reasonably close options. Bagels are horrible. They have 3 cream cheese flavors on a good day. Coffee is always empty. I think they max out at one staff member per shift. They don't open on time. It's cash only. No ventilation. Just horrified. read more

Stopped in for a bagel last Sat morning . Being originally from downstate NY granted my expectations were high . After walking in and waiting on line I noticed only 3 types of bagels on an almost empty shelf . Ordered a coffee and bagel . When I gave credit card was told they take CASH only . But I could use their ATM machine . The cost of using ATM obviously would have been close to cost of food . I just walked out speechless . By the way cafe is small all tables were full and the ventilation was terrible ! (Hot) . Went to Cumberland Farms next store . Great service bigger selection of bagels . Less expensive. This is a great little local spot for breakfast and lunch. We stopped in for egg sandwiches this morning on a bagel and coffee. The food was very good and fresh and the service was great. It was exactly what we were looking for. A nice country style local joint with good food and nice atmosphere. I see there are a bunch of negative reviews from fellow yelpers and that most of the complaints are that they don't accept credit cards. I guess thats a generation millennial thing to complain about because who doesn't carry enough cash to buy a bagel and coffee. Really people, it's not cool to bash a business because they expect you to pay with actual money. Lol I suggest you all keep a few dollars in your pocket at all times for an emergency - such as when you need to buy something. Hint hint. I was hoping third time would be a charm - but not so much. On a Saturday morning despite calling in an order for 2 bagels toasted with cream cheese I still stood in line for 30 minutes because there was only one employee. By then my bagels were nasty cold and soggy. The second time I was in I did not pre order - just patiently waited over 30 minutes in a very small corridor where it was so hard to maintain social distancing because everything is jammed into one tiny spot. At that times I simply ordered two bagels - and they were small and the veggie cream cheese should have just been called plain. Again one kid working and clearly flustered. I felt bad for him. But, I guess that was better then the first time when I got to stand in line for 15 painful minutes and listen to two women behind the counter screaming over each other which made me feel uncomfortable just to be there. read more

I went in with my husband and 2 kids and we ordered a couple things and my family got their food and drinks and my drink was forgotten. I got up to ask about it nicely and they started making it after I mentioned it. When i ordered i asked for add ins for my smoothie and asked for no apple juice or agave and they said you dont need to do that but I let it go. Well when I got my smoothie it didnt have any of my add ins. This was my first time going and it looked promising because it has smoothies but they didnt do what I asked and they forgot about it. I just received the worst latte I've ever had. It made Dunkin Donuts' lattes seem acceptable by comparison. If you wouldn't automatically put sugar in someone's coffee, then why would you use sweetened almond milk for a latte? It was weak, sweet and not even a hint of foam on the top~ all for $5.11 CASH. I walked into this place with my 5 year old daughter, waited on what I assumed was the line to be served since there wre 2 other people in front of us, and was ignored for 10 minutes, despite standing there and making eye contact with several of the employees behind the counter, and other people walking in after us and being helped. Horrible service, finally after being frustrated to no end and not once asked by anyone if I needed any help we left. I will never go back to any establishment with such horribly service. Good feta cheese, olives, banana peppers, fresh spinach, sweet red onions and a nice dressing. Cool Beans is a great place to gather in the morning and have that first cup of hot fresh coffee. The variety of coffee is fantastic and every cup is as good as the last. I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY so I know a good bagel...Cool Beans' bagels are good but not the best ever; however I still enjoy them. We have been coming here almost every weekend for the past 4 years only because it is easy to stop on our way home. The service is horrible and the staff very rude. There is one employee who happens to be pregnant right now is exceptional rude it seems if you are now what she considers a local she can't be polite. Don't go here, if you are in a hurry, as they only have one person, who works the counter and cooks. I got a bagel with cream cheese to go. It was flattened and cut in half sandwich style. The 1st half, the cream cheese was globbed on, mostly covering the hole in the bagel. The second half had no cream cheese on it at all.
