Now Ashley's Coffee Cafe.... We ordered four breakfast sandwiches and added an extra egg to three of them. At $2.75 per extra egg, the total came to $52, which felt steep. While I don't mind paying more for fresh, high-quality food, these unfortunately didn't meet that expectation. The bacon didn't taste like real sliced bacon, and the eggs themselves lacked substance. The sandwiches were quite cheesy, which was a positive, but overall not worth the price. At $9.75 for a standard bacon, egg, and cheese -- or $12.50 with an extra egg -- the pricing feels excessive, especially given the quality. The interior décor also feels dated and a bit mismatched, and could benefit from a refresh. On the positive side, the counter staff was kind and the line moved steadily, so no issues with service. Unfortunately, we wouldn't return for breakfast here again. It's disappointing to see Lake George trending toward inflated pricing without the quality to match. read more

This charming spot is located in a former bank building near Shepard Park. You can see the heavy door (now open) into the vault! The space is small, but homey. The staff is friendly, and the food we had was tasty. The menu is limited, but what we found was exactly what we hoped for--a non-fancy, well-priced selection of morning foods and good coffee. I had the power smoothie--one of the best smoothies I've ever had--that kept me going all day! My husband loved the mozzarella, tomato, and pesto panini so much, he had it twice! I'm a nice person, but this was pretty bad. It was not a Nathan's hot dog, my veggie panini with hummus was cucumbers, lettuce and tomatos- hot lettuce and cucumber is not a good combo. The fact that this is an old bank that is now a small little breakfast place in Lake George is very neat. However, I'm not very impressed with this place. Let's start with the most rude greeter person EVER. We were in line and once it was our turn to order we went up to the counter and stood there for about 20 seconds with no words, just her staring at us.. before I said hello?!? Like you should be greeting me and asking me what I would like to order. Nope this lady didn't care at all and barely spoke to us. I said hello and then proceeded with my order. We then asked if the table that had some paper on it was being used and she said "she didn't know". So we proceeded to sit down at that table and wait for our breakfast. Those were the only words out of her mouth. The greeter/order taker said a brief few words to us but I can move past that. The iced coffee with some pumpkin spice in it tasted horrible. I don't think there was any pumpkin in there...The food came out pretty fast and as soon as it did, my girlfriend put some salt on her eggs and the entire dispenser fell apart and salt went all over her eggs. Now this is obviously not the cafe's fault but you would think that after a few people making a good amount of noise, someone would come over and see what's going on? Nope! My girlfriend ate the eggs and didn't want to ask the non-social greeter for new ones so that's a rough encounter. I got the French toast and was very excited to dive in until I was greeted with very average and bland French toast. Nothing special about the French toast. The eggs had a date with a container of salt and the coffee was thrown away after a few sips. Yep, it really is a little old bank turned cozy eatery. I'm delivering to a hotel here in Lake George and got stuck overnight. Not a big menu but it has all the best stuff!!! If you leave here hungry it's your fault. Jane the owner and head (and only) cook makes all the food with a smile and you'll find yourself sitting a few minutes longer just to enjoy the warm atmosphere. Face it, you can get eggs at WaWa but you can only get eggs with a smile and good conversation at a place like the Bank Cafe. Next time I'm in Lake George I will be stopping in. read more

All the pictures hung out the wall shows it's a community cafe and definitely has its regulars. That it should! If I lived in the area I would be a regular. First off I want to preface this by saying I do have a lot of respect for small buissnesses and hope they can get their act together. I will not go into detail because all the other reviews already beat this horse to death. Their ordering system is terrible and alone is a reason you should go elsewhere. You wait online outside for 20 minutes to wait inside for 20 minutes to get breakfast. Cleanliness: 1 star, Flies everywhere and the kitchen could use a good scrub. If you have an open Kitchen you need to keep it clean. Food: Depends on what you order my breakfast burrito was actually great and flavorful. Small for the price but I REALLY enjoyed it. ( However Charlies breakfast burrito was 10% better) The waffle...... My partner said it best: It tastes like it was made in an easy bake oven. Probably the worst waffle I have Ever tried. Their bagels " Only come toasted" probably because they are stale and not fresh no other reason for this rule. Coffee: Hot coffee great bargain. I run a coffee shop and it was not bad for Drip that probably has been sitting in the urn for 2-3 hours at a time. Good flavors and free refills. Iced coffee, you could tell it was left over from yesterday. Overall: I would go to the competition over this one, there are several better options in the area. Charlie's breakfast is a great option for people who like the fresh new take on breakfast. But if your a small buissnesses supporter just go to the breakfast spot. Place looked so cute while walking by, we just had to stop for some coffee. I must say that it was the worst experience ever! There was a line out the door because they just re-instituted a maximum people rule because of increasing concerns of COVID (mind you, this is July 2021). We patiently waited outside and when it was our turn, we saw two people walk out so we ASSUMED that meant two new people could walk in. We were then yelled at by the main lady and told to wait outside until called. I thought it was very rude since there was NO signage explaining the new process, AND there were like 3-4 people going in and out that were apparent friends of the staff. So they have a maximum captivity rule, BUT if they know you, then it's all good, they don't count towards the max capacity??? Doesn't make sense to me. Then when we ordered two flavored coffees, it took 10 minutes to get our order. To our surprise, they don't actually pour the coffee for you, you just get a cup with a couple of squirts of your chosen flavored syrup. I wish I took a picture but didn't! We ordered the raspberry flavored coffee and got a cup that contained no actual coffee but some red syrup at the bottom, that basically looked like cough syrup. Then we went over to the coffee station where you have to add your own coffee and everything was empty. When we found a container that had something in it, we filled it up and left, then tasted it and it was so disgusting. So question for them: if they're sooooo concerned about COVID, why do you have coffee pots out that can be touched by hundreds of people a day contaminating everything? Why do you not make the coffee in the back and pour the customer coffees and actually MAKE the flavored combinations in stead of just giving me the syrup? TLDR: So anyway, we had to wait forever, got yelled at, paid good money, basically had to make our own coffee, and then it was disgusting to boot. Cool story. I may be a bit bitter but it might just be the leftover horrible coffee flavor in my mouth. I would have come back to sit at the cafe again to get some virtual work done, but after that experience, they are not getting my business again. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to the cafe in the Marriot: better coffee, friendlier staff, less wait time, and a very comfy area to enjoy your cafe order. read more

Two stars for the spot since it's a cute little corner along Lake George central. We ordered Mickey Mouse pancake for my son which looks exciting but tastes like cardboard. I realized they're store bought yet it's overpriced. I mean wth? I had toast with avocado and eggs. The result was sad. Very sad. Again overpriced. Their saving face is the French toast which is just okay nothing special about it, I can make it at home. No big deal. The food and coffee was delicious. My husband had eggs, bacon, and toast and was raving about it. I had the breakfast sandwich and fruit bowl and you can tell it is high quality ingredients. We were prepared for the line rules and as long as you read the sign on the door it is fine. It's actually nice that they don't have a big line of people crowding the cafe. People just need to read the signs. Took off one star cuz the tables outside were wet from the rain the night before. Two bacon egg and cheeses, one on a bagel and one on ciabatta bread. Had to add the salt pepper ketchup ourselves bc they apparently wont do that here. Was looking for a place for coffee during our Lake George trip so we stopped here. The food looked delicious, I didn't get a chance to have any. I was surprised of the middle aged woman that took our order and cashed us out. I wouldn't say she was the worst but I had asked a couple questions from being there for the first time, and she was clearly not having it, she was acting like I was dumb and I was just unsure as to how they would do things. Honestly there aren't many good places to eat as far as I can tell looking at these yelp reviews. Came here for brunch around 11am on a Sat. The place wasn't crowded so seating wasn't an issue for the 2 of us. Service was fast. We order a waffle and a strawberry stuffed French toast.
