We were on a lunch date and decided to try here. We had a window seat which made the feel of cafe more appealing. The server was very tentative and knowledgeable and had good recommendations. The wait for the food wasn't long either. We really enjoyed the meals we chose. We both stepped out our comfort zone and t new food. We definitely plan to return.

Went out looking for soup and sandwich and popped into Gourmet Cafe. Great menu and lots to choose from. I ordered the mushroom and beef soup and the wife had the French onion (Both were excellent). I have the roast beef and horseradish paining and she had the roasted turkey sandwich. I think this is a great spot for lunch. The waitstaff is super friendly and helpful.

Amazing food and GF, Ate here twice on vacation from California, i wish i could have stayed longer to enjoy more of their options. My wife and daughter loved it. Both are finicky, they have mean max beer yum. Dont be fooled by the minimal atmosphere. They can cook. The focaccia bread/ pizza crust is outstanding plus GF unbelievable, The meat lover pizza the onion soup and the pulled pork sandwich and perfect burger. Wow, Trust the servers for suggestions. We need this business is Cali. Cheers glens Falls you have a winning combo

The burger was done perfectly. The roll was fresh. The gluten free pizza crust was delicious. The hand cut fries were good. The server was great. The bathroom could use some tlc. No Veteran's discount. Worth it! I'd come back easily.

Heard about this place from a few friends and wanted to give it a go. I regret that. The idea of having a chef and having a pasta bar, and the chef making your meal in front of you is great. And that's why I gave this place two stars. The two stars were for the cool idea. You can either get your meal from the pasta bar( if they have it that night) or you order from the regular kitchen. The food is bland, the garlic bread they give you appears to be stale and extremely hard. The chicken Parmesan had no great flavor and was again very hard/burned. Everyone's noodles whether we ordered at the pasta bar, or through the actual kitchen were extremely watery and even the sauce was very watery and liquid like. The rigatoni and bow ties fell apart while picking them up because of how wet they were. Very gross. Atmosphere is like a cheap little diner. I won't come back here.

Make your own pasta bowl limitless veg, 4 choices meat, lots of pasta choices. And the creamy tomato soup is outstanding.

We hiked Giant & RPR today and stopped in to appease our savage hunger. Gourmet Cafe did not disappoint. Owner is a 46r! Absolutely delicious pasta bowl & soup. Every one of us found something we enjoyed ... and I couldn't even finish my serving. Wonderful.

Listen. You don't have to wait for pasta night! We went this evening, a Saturday, and expected pasta night. They promised that we wouldn't be disappointed. One gargantuan serving. I'm 230lbs and this will be three meals. They give you a slip that you complete describing the pasta dish you'd like. It's affordable and DELICIOUS! Service was flawless. Bathrooms were clean. And they accommodated my 8 year old nephew and my 9 month old. Head and shoulders better than our other similarly priced options.

I was dining alone and sat at the counter, where I could watch the team prepare each meal. You are essentially sitting right in the kitchen, with only the counter separating you from the chefs and staff. It made the entire experience much more interesting and gave me a real appreciation for the effort that goes into every dish. I started with the lumpia, which I loved. The sauce was absolutely delicious. For dinner, I had the scallops with gnocchi, and the food was excellent. My server, whom I believe was named Tristan, was also outstanding. He was always available when needed but never hovered. The service was perfectly balanced. I was there for a little over an hour, and not once did I see anyone in the kitchen standing around. It was a fast-paced, hardworking environment, and everyone was completely focused on preparing and serving the food. At most restaurants, all of this work happens behind closed doors. Being able to watch the preparation gave me an even greater appreciation for my meal and the people who made it. This is definitely a restaurant you should experience for yourself. I will absolutely be returning with friends.

Our waiter was super attentive and even though it took some time for the food to come out, I think given the quality of everything we ate, it was worth it. I got the raspberry mint mojito cocktail which was delicious and I pinched a sip or two of kid's lemonade made from fresh lemons, perfect level of sweetness. We tried the sweet potato pakoras and lumpia and the trio of house made dips (we liked the green mint-e one best). Everything was tasty, including the sauces that came up with them. Our kids shared the ramen which they split into two large bowls that didn't even look like a split dish given how much it was. My wife got the spare ribs which melted off the bones and had great flavor. The scallop dish I ordered came with six scallops that were a good size and also came with some gnocci, a delicious and unique sauce, and an unusual lobster with veggie type of ceviche salad accoutrement. I have the sense that the menu changes regularly here. The chef/owner came out and greeted us after the meal to ask how everything was and we could honestly respond that it was our best meal of the week. Subsequently we tried to sample many items from their desert menu and again Bastard did not disappoint. Surprisingly the "S'Mores," a more adult take on the kid's classic, was one of our favorites. Given the unique take on a variety of globally inspired dishes and great attention to detail, I would love to try Bastard again the next time I'm in the area.

The bar is large and looks very comfortable. Lots of TVs for watching various sports. The overall vibe is very casual and not pretentious at all. Service is friendly, and the food was timed just right. Our friend ordered a Makers on the rocks and I was impressed with the pour. We shared calamari and mozzarella sticks to start; not a trace of greasiness-both served hot and with a delicious side of marinara. The peppers in the calamari could be an appetizer of their own...I could have made a meal of those. I had the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese dressing on the side. Fab. Grilled chicken pieces were just the right size and coated with a medium spicy sauce over greens, croutons, onions and olives. Others at the table had the ribs and Tuscan chicken. Rave reviews for the Tuscan chicken served with pasta in a creamy garlic sauce. Ribs-huge portion (got the full rack) and the fries were awesome. These are fork and knife ribs; no need to pick them up since they fall off the bone. I would have liked a little more sauce...so next time I'll ask for a side of it. We arrived early and it got busier without being too crazy. I hope they do well-go check them out!

You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived.
