I put in a new Lennox AC system, including thermostats, air handler, compressor about wo years ago. Initially I had inadequate AC and they cam back and reworked the duct work. I then had no heat and after my heating company came by 4 times determined it was a problem with the circuit board and blower(installed by Coolpower). Coolpower replaced both. I then had no AC and hey came back to rework the circuit board. I now have no heat. I called two days ago, I called yesterday and they called today indicating there would be a charge to come by and take a look. They could come the middle of next week (presently no heat). Clearly they do not know how to fix my system. I am considering having the whole thing replaced by another company at considerable cost so I get AC and heat. read more

Had a central AC system installed by Cool Power. Everything during the install was great. The workers were very nice and for the most part cleaned up after themselves. They did leave a few dings on my walls. They also left two holes in my walls that they didn't really do that great of a job patching. One hole I knew they had to put in to access a certain area. The other hole looks like they initially tried to put the thermostat there. The patch job was a joke. I do understand that they aren't Sheetrock guys, but maybe have one of the workers learn that skill so they can do this properly, especially if this is a somewhat common occurrence. This past Spring, the condenser for our Central AC unit was struck by lightening. According to our homeownersh insurance policy, it was covered. While the adjustment company, and the insurance company, took their time approving our claim, and sending a check (during a vicious heatwave!), EVERYONE at Cool Power did everything they could to expedite the process for us. From Egbert, who came to inspect the damage initially, to Peter, the owner who came to give us a price quote to submit to insurance, to Cassandra in the office, who coordinated all the payments, and logistics of installation. Also Duane, Mike, and everyone else who has worked so hard for us this summer. Absolutely everyone I dealt with during this was an absolute pleasure, completely professional, and very empathic. I am fully aware of how cranky and miserable I was without AC until mid-July. They were all patient and wonderful. The tech used my brand new 2 gallon weed killer spray can which was full. I've been calling to see why it was emptied by the tech. I've been trying to get a hold of someone but they won't call me back. Poor customer service. I was in need for a entirely new AC system, air handler and compressor and I had a bunch of quotes but Cool Power was the most professional and reasonable by far. I was introduced to Cool Power while shopping at Costco, I later found out that Cool Power has won all of the Costco business throughout all of Long Island, which should tell you something. Peter, the owner, came to my home on my schedule and gave me clearly written and thorough quote. His price was as good as 2 local HVAC contractors but Peter provided me a better product. I was very impressed so the next day my wife and I called and set up an installation date. We then had the pleasure of meeting Duane, he came to measure out the space we had as well as provide us valuable installation day advice and information. Duane made sure we were happy and was our point person throughout the installation. Today, my brand new, high efficiency Lennox AC system was installed PERFECTLY. The worker's were clean, thorough, professional and personable. They literally did not leave a scratch! I've had a lot of work done in my home and this company is by far the cleanest and most professional. Horrible Customer Service! I called Cool Power about fixing my unit that is under warranty last year and they said they couldn't get to me for 4 weeks, so I had a outside company do the repair. The technician told me the unit had a leak and charged me $400 to fill the unit with Freon. I called Cool Power early this year to have them fix the leak in which they charged me $423 and told me the unit is fine. Today I called Cool Power to tell them the unit isn't turning on and they say I need to pay over $200 just to look at the unit. I highly recommend not using their services or buying their warranties. read more

I had cool power replace 22 air conditioning vents. They charged me $1800.00. They were here for 2 hours, they glued the vents into the ceinling istead of properly screwing them and they started to fall out. The parts cost 504.90. Really 1300.00 for bad labor. I had a contracter here for something elsa and he puulled me aside to say what are they doing. He told me he could have done that job for $700.00. I called to say they had to redo the vents and srew them in instead of gluing them to my ceiling. The owner screamed at me. Very unprofessional. They eventually sent me their knowledgable technician who also could not fathom the way these vents were installed. Half of them were crooked as well! Extremely disappointed. read more

Hired Cool Power to install a central air unit. They did not correctly wire the thermostat and had to be called back twice before the heat would work properly. Their guys also left saw and plaster dust everywhere (Floors, sink, closet, medicine cabinet, basement, etc.) damaged the bathroom trash can, left the toilet looking nasty and left the closet haphazardly assembled. The final employee that was sent correctly diagnosed the problem, redid the wiring and double checked the whole house to be sure there were no more issues. The system seems to be running very smoothly now, and he acknowledged and apologized for the mistakes and the mess. Overall I'm happy with the new system, but I wish it had been done right the first time. That way, I wouldn't have ended up spending an afternoon cleaning up their mess in a freezing cold house. read more
