I've been going here for the last 3 years of my life in NEPA. I have never once had a bad time. Even took my niece from Brooklyn and she absolutely adores the place. So whimsical, fun, full of cool art and trinkets from a train to old signs, old pics of beloved singers / actresses. Not to Mention they are proud of the show they "came from" The Office. This place is so out of the ordinary. I love it! From the parking lot to the cute things hanging on the walls. We were greeted and seated in a matter of seconds. Everyone is required to a mask unless you are seated at your table. (You are able to sit either inside or outside) Our waiter was Luis and he was so sweet and very knowledgeable. You actually see his pictures hung up past the bathrooms inside. The decor is exquisite. There is so many old memorabilias. A must see. So as usual we ordered a whole bunch of stuff and shared. Rhode Island Little Neck Clams: Yum! and the butter they served on the side with it delicious! Gator Bites: If you never had gator before this is the way to start. It tasted like buffalo chicken. Cooked perfectly and was not chewy. Mains: Crab Cakes: Delicious! It was served with cole slaw and a side of fries. It was breaded perfectly and had LOADS of crab meat. Just Seafood: The shrimps were scrumptious! The scallops were cooked perfectly. The crab meat with the butter topped perfectly! Great dish recommended by Luis to have a taste of all of their seafood. Seafood Alfredo: WOW!!!! If you love pasta and Alfredo. Order this! There was enough seafood to eat with the pasta. The shrimps again were to die for! I love the experience of Cooper's as well as the food. It is definitely a tourist trap with it's Office gift shop however, a Jimmy Buffet vibe in the outdoor seating and the memorabilia and historical artifacts inside make this as much of a museum as a restaurant. My friend and I were able to snag an outdoor seat since the weather was perfect. A couple of cocktails were served while we perused the menu. I landed on fish tacos and fries but there were many other choices that looked amazing. We also opted for the crabby pretzel for an app with a side of beer cheese. The pretzel is so hefty, flavorful and filling we were close to full after devouring it. The fish tacos were huge and coupled with the fries and appetizer I could only handle one. As "featured" in The Office, this historic old restaurant was a stop for us when visiting family in my home town of Scranton. Our large party was greeted and sat right away. We felt welcomed! It was pretty busy for a Tuesday at lunch time, but not crazy crowded. Some fun cocktails were tried: orange crush and lemontini, and a variety of draft beers. Cocktails were tasty, not too sweet, but not strong either. The fish and chips baskets were a popular choice at the table and were hot and crispy. I'm told the crab bisque was amazing. Halibut with mashed potatoes and broccoli were good, not spectacular. There was a small melted cup of "butter" on the side but I'm not certain it was real butter. Potatoes were seasoned well, but lumpy. Shrimp basket came with plenty of good sized shrimp cooked perfectly. Afterwards we checked out the gift shop with plenty of Office-themed items: apparel, games, magnets, key chains, and more. Cooper's is a local institution, and the greatest place in Scranton that took me 8 years to visit. Featuring an "Office"-themed giftshop and festooned with pop culture memorabilia from the past several decades (the Simpsons shrine alone is worth a visit). You should also know that Cooper's has an amazing beer list. Easily the best I've seen in or around Scranton town. You can get local suds from Susquehanna, Benny Brewing, Wallenpaupack, etc. They fill growlers, too. As the food is concerned, you'll get gullet-pleasing seafood at roughly half the cost in NYC. I had the shrimp scampi, which was totally satisfying. There are tons of hearty appetizers easily shared with a large group. Portions are stupendous. So I haven't been to Coopers in probably three decades. I moved out of the area and just didn't have a chance to get back. Anyhow, stopped there the other night and then again the next day. So let's talk about everything that's really good about Cooper's. The staff excellent super friendly attentive on point. The outside bars are really nice there's bars on three levels outside. Unfortunately the only view is of the parking lot but outside is still very good. We didn't have a lot of menu items. Really only New England clam chowder which Coopers is famous for and we tried a basket of fried shrimp. The clam chowder is outstanding. I remember it being good and it's every bit as good or better now highly recommended. The fried shrimp were fine. Not horrible not great sort of in the middle I don't think I would get them again but not a dealbreaker. I am anxious to get back there for Buck a shuck oyster happy hour Monday through Thursday 5 to 7. Oh also good selection of craft beers. read more

I stopped here with my two teenagers because my son is a fan of The Office and it was in the show. There's a great gift shop that is mostly The Office themed. The antiques and pictures around the restaurant were pretty cool and retro. Service was also good. Unfortunately, the food was not great. We got fish and chips, fried shrimp, and crab cakes. All below average, and I make better at home. The crabby pretzel was pretty great though. Worst was the bill. Over $100 for the three of us before tip. No way should this be $$. I went for my birthday so it is only one experience, but they have 2 different bathrooms that I saw with 2 different themes, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis for the woman's are the ones I saw. The food was fantastic, flavorful, only negative for the shrimp scampi was the tails on it but that tells you they are real and fresh, so cannot complain there. Each room has a different display, even 2 button displays that talk a little and other videos around the restaurant like a museum. During October there is even a raffle to go to a charity. You would not expect this place in Scranton, what a gem! It's something you would expect to find in Key West or the Baltimore Harbor. It's a great place to spend the afternoon. There are several outside bars and a great bar inside along with a restaurant. Office fans would love it here. We had the stuffed jalapeños poppers and drinks at the outside bar. Wow what a place to go. I say to go not because you only can eat but, also have an experience and look throughout this place. This is the place to eat seafood, get drink not even just stop in and browse. I was craving steamed clams, I got clams plus 11 more so a dozen of clams it was. Also I had the combination with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab, with fries and coleslaw. I also had mango daiquiri as well. As had the Soft Shell Crab Sandwich it look so delicious and mind haze beer hit the spot. The atmosphere was great took me back to child hood, there were games on the shelf and the simpons, there was the office with the cast all around as well. There was a gift shop there. This place was so cool it had a map with people that pinned where they were from and it was so cool. Have been to Scranton before but, this was definitely a treat. This is by far the best Seafood restaurant I've ever been to. It is built in the shape of a Ship and has a giant octopus on its roof. Inside, it is made like a museum, with every inch of wall space and the ceiling covered with sculptures of sea life with a humungous blue whale on the ceiling, a train model going all around a shelf up top built like a railroad track, newspaper clippings of past Presidents, manequines of movie and TV stars...I could go on.
