Crab Cake Sandwich with Lemon Sauce and Sweet Potato Fries

I and my daughter went for a birthday lunch back in December of 2025. We were seated promptly. It took our server a few minutes longer than typical to take our order, but the restaurant was understandably busy since it was December, and we weren't in any rush. Everything looked clean and the restaurant had a pleasant, casual atmosphere. We didn't have to wait too long for our order to come out to us. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich with lemon sauce and sweet potato fries. My daughter had the Nashville Chicken Sandwich and sweet potato fries. We did order non alcoholic drinks which were refilled. We both enjoyed our orders and they were very tasty, plus our server was attentive with checking back a few times which is something I always note when eating out at a better establishment. I would definitely recommend Cooper's Tavern & Taproom.

It was a little tricky finding the location, but once we did, we enjoyed our brunch! There were lots of options and we were satisfied with them all- very flavorful and delicious. The vibe inside was nice and chill, good music and atmosphere. Staff was friendly, but a little slow- especially considering how little people were there.

Food was so good! Highly recommend the chicken sandwich. Great bar as well and ambiance is good for late night dinner (dates, drinks, etc)

Really pretty restaurant. Good music, a little loud. Burger was good steak was undercooked but overall good. Server was excellent. We wanted dessert but didn't see on menu. And they got busy so we got rushed out a little bit.

I have been to Coopers Tavern on the many occasions I visit family around the Richmond area. I've had various plates fork the fish and chips, hamburger, breakfast and this time the Filet mignon . The steak was well cooked and was tender with an almost melt in your mouth texture . The mashed potatoes were well made and were full of flavor . The Demi glaze was good final touch on the steak and pushed the flavor to another level. I'd continue to recommend Coopers Tavern to whoever would look to try it.

After a couple hours at the winery nearby, I zoomed in on Google maps to see which eateries were close by on the way back to Richmond. Cooper's Tavern was right around the corner, so I directed us there. It's definitely an interesting building. You wouldn't expect a restaurant to be there, let alone a "tavern." They do have a big "come grub" sign adjacent to the parking lot so you have some idea that you're in the right place. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server came over for our drinks. I ordered a riesling, which I realized I didn't necessarily need after coming from a winery, but it was good nonetheless. We started with the pickle fries, which were delivered in maybe two minutes flat. They're definitely of the frozen variety, but they were tasty regardless. I ordered the steak sandwich but modified it pretty substantially so that it was just cheese and mayo on it, instead of mustard, because that seemed like an odd combo. The flavor was good, but the steak was super chewy. I tried to warm up the other half the next day and couldn't chew it at all. The fries that came with it were good, as was the caesar salad I ordered as well. I also heard great things about the fish and chips, which are apparently a popular item there, according to our friendly and prompt server. The price was reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. I don't really foresee myself in the Quinton area often, but I'd recommend this spot as a viable option for a meal.

This hidden gem was absolutely amazing. Food is all fresh and drinks are craft cocktails. We found it randomly and so glad we did. We will be back

The food is okay. Nothing special. The service is slow. The restaurant seats you way too close.

I was there for a private event. The crowd was warm and wonderfully mixed. There was a little chat before the event began that basically told us to not get kicked out by being mean or non-inclusive. Not sure how I felt about that. Parking in Carytown is its own contact sport. Come early -- your blood pressure will thank you. I parked 6 blocks away and was lucky to get that. Bottom line: Weird, welcoming, and worth every lap around the block looking for a spot if you're into crowds and are looking for something different.

The charcuterie board we ordered was excellent and a highlight of the night. The location is also great for nightlife. That said, the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the service was inconsistent. We were told guests are expected to be quiet during the sets, yet another group was talking loudly and nothing was addressed, which felt a bit uneven. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more diverse crowd.
