I'm so happy this opened up close to me now. The baby child product of Copper Blues and Stand Up Live, CBLive is a great spot to get together with friends. With an area for the comic acts and another area for party goers and patrons, you can't go wrong in a night of fun. Located in the bustling Desert Ridge Marketplace, it was a welcome opening for this area. Came after their grand opening for their NYE bash and couldn't gush more about them. Tickets were super affordable so snag them early if you can next year. Clean and spacious with plenty of room to sashay your way in the room. Staff was efficient and friendly on the craziest night ever. Plenty of seating and choices for your choice drink. Bartenders were on point with all our drinks. It's typical bar prices and I'll have to update when I try their food. But the table of guys next to me seemed to enjoy their food and was offered a sample. We went here yesterday for the momma Mia drag brunch. Great seats. Service was decent, but the food was definitely lacking. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was two small pieces of chicken that looked like it was frozen and microwaved. It was a bit rubbery. Waffles were dry and also subpar. Since this is more of a show venue my expectations don't run high for food. My suggestion is just get the couple of drinks that are required and leave it at that and enjoy the show. This place has NOT recovered from the COVID work shortage, OR the management is truly confused about how to staff, unless this place is more rowdy than the Scottsdale atmosphere suggests... security guards (aka food runners) are 2:1 for servers. To this point, our drinks ran dry, our food came with no utensils for over 10 minutes, and by then our food was covered in flies & other bugs... as Ranch Gals, we gave our Poke a try anyway - bad idea. It was "fishy" - never a good sign for an avid poke & sushi consumer in the Phoenix area; on top of that our veggies were BURNT. YUCK! WHO BRINGS THAT TO A TABLE?!? Our waitress offered the manager to visit, what for? So I can be a "Friday- Karen", no thanks. You didn't even know what Gin was, or what was available in the ONE mocktail you could offer... I was "asking hard questions." Our waters and drinks were constantly empty, even after we got our replacement cheeseburger and tried to "enjoy" our dinner. If anything, the music here was good! But don't show up expecting a great experience until management gets more servers on the floor. (And stops partnering with the Poke vendor, which the menu clearly states, isn't CB Live.) read more

Wanted to share some feedback from last weekend. My BF and I bought tickets to your Saturday 7pm show last week. Understanding the place was packed and our server was trying to handle the influx of people that came in 15 minutes before the show, we did not have the best experience. We were contemplating ordering some of your special drinks but when we asked how much they were we got "I don't know...$16-$18-$26. Do you really want me to go look?" It would probably be good to have a pre-shift before the shows and make sure your staff is on the same page and has the answers that could come up. Because he didn't have the answer, we were quick deciding on our backup option and he just walked away to get someone else's order. We didn't get our first round of drinks until the headliner was about to come on. Then as she was wrapping up ( like 15 minutes left) he came through and pointedly asked "what will you have for your second drink". We were then forced to finish our drinks and hurry up and pay so the next show could get in. The timing was NOT ideal. We should not be forced to order the second drink if there isn't much time left in the show. This was the same case for everyone at the table. We did not all arrive together but all shared a similar timing experience. read more

In all, my service was okay. But once it came down to my receipt it was bad service. For starters, they have a limited menu and a full menu they give out at the same time, but our server disregarded to tell us that so my food came before my girlfriends. Once my girlfriend finally ordered nachos, which she wanted none of the fixings on it, just queso and beef, the nachos were $30. I was not okay with the price still paid and the server knew I was not happy but never offered to get the manager. Once I got the manager myself and described how the nachos based price should not have been the original priced he AGREED but never did anything about my total price, offered anything in follow up, or really cared. Plus the server asked me with my burger if I wanted fries or chips never saying fries was an up-charge so that was a surprise after paying $19 for a burger and then $3 extra for fries. I would say the servers name but she neglected to tell me that as well as a number of things. Update: $30 was now discounted from my total bill. Proof sent. I went again for another fun night at CB Live to see a phenomenal tribute band. It had been almost 6 months since I've been here and brought friends who never had the CB Live experience before, they loved it. Thank you so much to the host who took our picture, you are a doll! The food was delicious and the drinks were fabulous. Our waiter Kyler, was friendly and tentative to everyone in our group. The manager even popped in to check in on our table, always a stellar touch of service, thank you Kelly. I always set a positive vibe when I go places and people definitely noticed as our group was dancing around the table happily. We had people coming up to us including some staff members complimenting our positive vibes and asking if we were going to come back the following week. I like CB Live because it's has good people with positive energy and if you see someone who looks like they need some positive vibes, you can always flash a smile and start dancing and it changes the atmosphere and it's like boom.. they are infected with positive vibes too! Well usually! Just ask Zachary aka Mr. Louisiana.. you can find the treasure map on his arm if he shows you and truth be told he will tell you that he learned the secret 4 words.. it does not matter. Went for a bday party last night. Service was slow, but it was understandable with our large group. What was not acceptable was the food delivered without silverware. The place is so loud you can't hear, gives you a headache, and we had to leave early. The burger buns are black. Not appealing, go back to regular buns. The entire group was appalled at the buns. Thought it looked like mold! We waited over an hour so we were starving. The drinks are weak and cost $11+. The homemade ginger beer is nasty, watered down flavor with no carbonation.Sent it back, thought it was made wrong, tasted like lemonade with lime. Nooe, comes back just as bad. So 2 vodka sodas, and 1 mule with nasty ginger beer and 2 burgers cost $97 Rip Off. read more

We came here for the live music and dinner. there are only a few tables occupied. lots of empty tables. there was one person singing but wasn't the one we saw on their website. felt it was a little false advertisement so we were disappointed but nevertheless stayed to check out the performance and food. we ordered our food, waited for half an hour and the food still hadn't come. asked the waitress and she said the kitchen was busy with the crowd from next door. apparently they share kitchen. after another few minutes, we asked for status again and still couldn't tell us when the food would come. at that point, i was about to cancel the order and go somewhere else.. then she told us it would be another 15 minutes!!! we waited close to an hour for our food. don't waste your time coming here: food is mediocre and so was the performance. not worth it. read more

CB Live has quickly become one of my favorite staples at Desert Ridge. It's a great place for a date or for group outings. I've seen a couple comedy shows too and when they're done you just mosey on over to the bar for more live music, drinks, and food. I love that their drinks are named after songs- my favorite being Strawberry Fields Forever. Did I mention they have taco Tuesday specials too? $2.50 tacos (fish, chicken, steak), $5 margaritas, and $6 prickly pear margaritas. Too good to pass up! read more

Let me start by saying my husband and our group of friends go to a lot of places with live music and we are lovers of all types live music... BUT... this place is always wayyyy too loud. None of us can talk to each other the entire time. It's a shame because it is the closest live music venue to us but there is a solid group of 10 of us that won't go back because of how loud it is (our ages range from 28 - 60, so it's not an age thing ;) ). We've been 4 times now hoping for it to be better and it is always the same, we leave feeling annoyed that we had to scream the entire time and still couldn't hear anyone. The food was tasty though so if they were able to make an adjustment for the sound level, we would definitely go back. There is just no need to blast live music THAT loud, most concerts, live music, shows, etc. that we go to, we can always still somewhat carry a conversation. read more

We attended the comedy club for the 1st time tonight and we were pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful experience it was. As comedy club "veterans" we had not found one that lived up to our standards since moving here in 2014. The location is great for a night out at Desert Ridge. I found the opening and second acts were wonderful and our headliner tonight, Brad Sherwood, absolutely the best. We arrived early and managed to get good seats! We also ordered dinner and it was perfect in every way. The appetizer loaded cheese fries my husband was hungry for were really good. I happen to think it was because they used cooked onions in the skillet dish. I love a great burger and hubby with his chicken sandwich. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and found the food to be quite good. I really appreciate this comedy club doesn't have a 2 drink minimum like most places. The room is clean and bright, a bit cramped which is expected but we were lucky enough to not have to share our table with anyone. Bathrooms are more then 3 stalls which any woman knows is important! I didn't have to wait to use the ladies room at all. The restaurant had live music that was wonderful and a great vibe, and once the show is over they open the areas up. Darkening shades made it a perfect private room and then the partition is lifted after the show to reveal the separate restaurant. You can eat while in the comedy club or you can eat at their restaurant without the comedy club. Either way it's a win-win situation. This was our first visit but it won't be our last! This was the worst comedy club experience I've ever had. I love the downtown Phoenix Copper Blues. Been there several times. So I took advantage of a cheap late night comedy offer as something fun to do nearby on a nice Friday evening. I paid online. When I got to the venue there was a short line and crowds standing around in different groups in front of the place which I found to be strange since it was after 9pm and the show was to start at 9:30pm. A kid came around checking people in in the line which was fine. When they finally let us in, I'm thinking it was about the time the show should have been starting, I was alone and seated at the end of a table in the back behind a group of about 6. So not happy with that although I could have just asked to move. It really wasn't filled to capacity. And the place seemed to be run by Gen Z. The server took the group's order and then disappeared. The show had started and the MC was well into his routine before my server made it to me to get a drink order. And then he didn't know what imports he had so I had to wait for him to then leave and come back taking another several minutes. I ordered my 2 items because I didnt want to have to wait again. I finally got my drinks by the time the first opening comedian came on but after the MCs set. The large bar attached to the comedy club was so damn noisy I could barely hear the comedians at times over the music. What kind of stupid ass design was this? Downtown, there is a hallway separating the 2 venues. The final straw? The bar and comedy club share bathrooms. The short space between the two spots to go the bathroom, literally reeked of poop. Like someone pooped right there in the hallway and ate something really foul beforehand. But I saw nothing so that's the bathrooms leaking that nasty air? And kinda close to the kitchen too so overall this was a pretty shitty (hah...literally) experience. I can say with certainty that I will never come back. I don't care who is playing. Key takeaways: - Late start (forgiveable) - Slow ass service (but the server was very pleasant) - Cheap discounted show helped it not suck down to one star - I still tipped well but I will never come back to this venue. I know it has been awhile my friends ... just wanted to share a fun night out with you all . If you are looking for a hilarious evening of laughter then by all means crab your besties and hubbies and head on out for a night of comedy I loved the ambiance , but I like the rustic brick industrial look. I did not try the food because we met friends elsewhere . However , the servers were very friendly and had spot on service with our drink orders, even throughout the packed out house ! Beware , there is a 2 drink requirement at CB Live during the show . The drinks were fairly priced . The tickets for the show were fairly priced as well I recommend getting there early and eating there to ensure getting adequate seating ! My girlfriend and I have been here a few times. You can't "review" this place by the comedians, as they are not a constant. Most shows, the headliner is fantastic (that's who you paid to see), but the 2 prior to them are hit and miss. So, I'll review Copper Blues Live on what you'll get every time you come (the constant!). The servers are extremely polite and helpful. They check up on you when appropriate, even during the show. We get there when the doors open so we can order dinner. The prices are in line with the rest of the eating establishments in Desert Ridge. The quality of the food is great. Their limited menu means fast service. I don't think we've waited more then 10 minutes to be served after we ordered. We'll be back when the headliner is someone we want to see, or if they throw us comps, which you get occasionally when you sign up on their mailing list. read more

We had to go to the bar and start a tab and get drinks and water there. Waitress was very inattentive and never even brought us water, utensils or plates. Attended one of their Saturday morning drag brunches for a friend's birthday, and we had an absolute BLAST! The theme was "Disney Villains", and the four performers were FULL of energy at 11 in the morning!! The crowd featured mostly women, and we were MORE than ready to be loud and have fun! It doesn't seem like they have a drink minimum, but you do have to be 21+ to get in here. Their drink list is pretty standard stuff. We were surprised to see that they actually have a food here. We saw a HUGE plate of nachos- obviously I can't speak on their taste, but the people did look pretty happy. If you have a large group, you'll most likely be seated at a long table, which looked impossible to move in/out of. Just keep that in mind if you need to use the bathroom. If you have a smaller group of people, you may or may not be sitting with another small group. Service was pretty good, our server was attentive, but it would have been nice to know when it was last call- we were just brought our bill out of nowhere. It also seems like there's a regular bar connected to the comedy club, but I didn't investigate enough to see if you could get to one from the other. read more

I will open this by saying that I've never left a one star review at an establishment before and tend to be very positive about local businesses. However, I'm super disappointed to say that this place is crooked. I won second place at a trivia night (that I happily paid entry for) in late September. The second place prize were Disney on Ice tickets. Yay! Cool, right? Yeah, except I was told that I would get a call within a week and here I am writing a review a month later with no contact from the establishment or their supposed contact that was supposed to reach out. In that time I have called DURING BUSINESS HOURS and not gotten a hold of anyone, and sent an email almost a week ago with no response. They sold add on meet and greets for this past weekend & swapped it from before to after the show 4 days prior, as if no one had any other plans on a Sunday afternoon. Saw Michael Ian Black here last week and it seems that someone has finally figured out comedy clubs! I LOVE comedy but I do not love being sardined into a bistro table for hours while being forced to consume two items consisting of either watered down highly sugary cocktails or Costco frozen food. (If this is truly your choice, go with bottled beverages and desserts. Frozen Costco desserts are decent at least.) CB Live has actually ROOM in between the tables. We also braved the menu and were pleasantly surprised. The Noble pretzel was delicious (and if it says Noble bread, that's usually a good sign) and the brownie was a confusing triple layer of deliciousness (three stacked brownies with something called "butter crema" - weird but good). I LOVE that I can buy a ticket to a show and nothing else! The chairs though.... those chairs are the pits. I squirmed, crossed and re-crossed my legs in an attempt to get comfortable until I finally determined that it's not possible. read more
