Large space that is sectioned into two. Had a blast at adult Disney trivia years ago and recently enjoyed stumbling into an Ozzy Osborne tribute band. I've also met a large group for a moms day out. A friend has come for comedy shows and country dancing nights. So this is a great local spot for a variety of things! Wonderful addition to Desert Ridge Drag Brunch was so fun! We had a group of 5 girls for boy band morning brunch. The fact that they made the apps and drinks menu special with coinciding boy band names added to the fun

We have been here several times for live music, speaking engagements, and comedy shows but this was my first time coming for what we came for ... a drag show! We went to the Wicked theme drag brunch and as a first timer, I sure did learn a lot, so allow me to share my novice advice. First, buy your tickets online ahead of time and then have your party arrive early to get a good seat and/or to order food. It's gets pretty loud and it's hard for the servers to take a whole table's order over the music and performances. The website said there was a "2 drink minimum" but I couldn't tell if that was per person or just an average of 2 per person per table. Seemed more like average per table when we went this time. I know when we there previously it was a strict "2 per person". We were celebrating a birthday so there was no shortage of drinks being ordered anyway. There were specialty cocktails that were themed and were fun but seemed pricey ($18-$25 each). Second, bring lots singles (as in $1 dollar bills). I was not prepared for this aspect and felt bad as other people were giving the performers money as they came near the table. You can chose other denominations obviously if you want to be a big tipper. Third, enjoy yourself! It took me a few songs to get into it, just because I had never seen Wicked (I know) but they did a great job telling the story and also mixed in other well known songs in. They were also very funny and interactive with the crowd. They interacted with every table throughout the entire performance. Their outfits and makeup were incredible, truly impressive. They really made sure everyone had a fantastic time. Everyone was laughing, cheering, smiling, and dancing at their tables. Fourth, get into the theme. Dress up, coordinate outfits with your party, exaggerate your makeup, whatever makes it more fun for you makes it more fun for everyone. I can't wait for some Christmas themed shows and to go more prepared next time.

The ambiance is always great very relaxing. The space is a bit tight for someone like myself in a wheelchair but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The food was ok they took off a lot of items from the last time I was there that I was looking forward to but the drink specials were spot on.

CB Lives is still the best place to see comedy show and live music in North Scottsdale or Phoenix. I love this place because the vibes were amazing. The 4 stars are for the live music, comedy and the waitress, but the hostess was okay not great. We've been coming here for the stand up comedy at least once every couple months, but the hostess always trying to put us in very back table and at the meantime the middle tables were available, why???? The drink was good and the food was okay.

Huge! Quick stop in for a drink on a Saturday evening. There was of course live music just about to start. Lucky us! We sat at the bar. We were greeted quickly from the Newbie Bartender! Thanks girl! I have to come back to try that menu, it looks tasty! Oh! Yeah live music was nice too!

Love the shows but the food and drinks are mediocre. We ordered chicken nachos and they were cold so we sent them back. The second one also came out cold. We saw other people send their fries back because they were cold, also. The chicken in the nachos was overcooked. We have had the nachos before and the quality has gone down. We did enjoy the show, though.

I went for a drag brunch with some friends. The space is nice as I've been before for a different event. It was big and inviting lots of space and room to get comfortable. We sat at the high tops with two people we didn't know but it was cool. It was really busy so service was kinda slow. There was a limited menu which kinda sucked there were only a few options and my food came out lukewarm at best, and took forever to come so I didn't send it back. The drinks had cute names but were weak so I stuck to shots! I had a breakfast burrito and it was egg heavy warm and just ok the salsa was good though.

Before anything I mention in this review I want to note this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DRAG QUEENS. ALL OF THOSE WOMEN ARE FABULOUS! I am sad to report this is my 3rd time at this facility and though lack of service has never been up to par, today truly the icing on the cake for me to not return to this venue in the future. My group of 6 bought VIP tickets. Followed instructions emailing the info address listed on their page. A gentleman name Luke from standup live replied and said our seats were "good to go". I told the front desk who laughed at me stating they didn't know of any "Luke". (Disrespected before even walking in the front door). The manager came out and was able to accommodate our party for a booth, as requested. Our server, who never gave us his name or introduced himself took our drink orders and asked he first round came out a decent time. After we got our first round of drinks and finished we waited for our server for over 30 minutes to place another order 4 out of the 5 people at the table ordered all you can drink mimosas and only had one round after 30 minutes. It seems like our server avoided our table. Finally a nice gentleman named DJ was able to help us out as we signaled for someone. We explained the situation and confused why our server was ignoring us. Our table gained the impression it was a discrimination instance to where I am fully disappointed in the staff that is hired at this establishment. I understand the fast paced environment as I have worked as a bartender for several popular restaurants, but the way we wet treated by this white server seemed like he didn't want to give us the attention we deserved. Luckily my friend on the end had a word with the manager, and it seems like she was aware. No formal apology to the group. This shout out is going to DJ who handled a shitty situation and went above and beyond to make sure we got the drinks we ordered. The other half of this staff could learn a few things from this guy. If this guy ever needs a job please contact me! There are tons of other drag shows out there with the same community. Go elsewhere. Avoid being mistreated and get your moneys worth elsewhere.

I always enjoy the comedy shows and love that they have good lineups. We have seen shows with "free" tickets and paid for them as well. The menu is decent for bar food, I would recommend the cheese steak sandwich w/ fries. It can be a bit pricey for what you get but you don't have to eat dinner there; there's so many options around them. The servers and hosts are friendly. Overall I'm rating the entertainment because we are always looking forward to going.

    Dualing pianos and the crowd.
    Jim K.

We came for the dueling pianos, food, drink and a good time. Started really rough. Very busy, busier than they expected! Pizza came out uncooked and my drink was bad! They made up for it! A new pizza cooked and tasted great and a fresh drink that was also great with their apologies. Marley our server was great and she was running her tail off! We had a great time and really enjoyed what could have been a disastrous night. Thank you for making it right!

It tries to be those things and fails in all. The layout: It's a long narrow room. The stage is on the smaller far end. The tables are arranged going back along the long direction. If you're sitting more than halfway back you'll be disappointed in the seating. In the back are high-top tables which are very small. The "bar" is along the long wall. The "restaurant" is catered food ( I don't think the venue has a kitchen). It's arranged buffet style on portable tables in the lobby. You go in a line and chose your dinner and they hand it to you in a plastic to-go container. You eat at your table and then bus your leftovers and trash to the trash can. There is no wait service. Just like eating at a fast food restaurant. If your sitting at a small high-top table there's not enough room for more than two people to eat. You'll be seated with strangers and they'll be right in your face as you eat. The "bar" only has beer and wine for alcohol. Or you could get a canned mixed drink. Stand in line and wait your turn at the end of the bar. The bar seats are reserved for the show. Remember no wait service. So if you want a drink during the show you have to go to the bar. Music was not Jazz. Very slow, boring folk. The crowd was 70+ year olds. And they charge for this experience? Won't be going back.

Based on how this place is described and marketed, we were expecting an intimate, vintage-feeling evening where we could sit down, have a cocktail, listen to jazz, and enjoy the atmosphere. That was not our experience. There were definitely things we liked. The location was great, the overall theme and decor were beautiful, the lighting created a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was also very good. However, the entertainment was a huge miss and completely took us out of the experience. We walked in and the band was performing "Genie in a Bottle," followed by other current/recent pop songs, Backstreet Boys songs, and "Creep." The singer was repeatedly screaming into the microphone and encouraging everyone to scream and make noise. At one point, while sitting in what is supposed to be a speakeasy, we were literally listening to him sing "creep" which is one of the most depressing songs of all time. It felt much more like being at a loud dive bar or country bar than an intimate 1920s inspired speakeasy. My biggest issue is that the entertainment did not match the experience being advertised. You can decorate a room beautifully and make it look like the 1920s, but when the soundtrack is "Genie in a Bottle," "Creep," and Backstreet Boys songs being loudly belted into a microphone, the illusion disappears pretty quickly. The noise level also made it difficult to simply sit, have a drink, talk, and enjoy the space. We specifically chose this place because we wanted that relaxed jazz/speakeasy experience, and that simply wasn't what we got. The cocktail selection was another disappointment. For a speakeasy-style bar, I expected a stronger selection of specialty bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The prices also felt excessive for the overall experience. On top of the already-high prices, we paid a $20 entertainment cover ($10 per person) specifically for the band. I wouldn't have minded paying a cover for quality live entertainment that fit the advertised atmosphere, but the artist was not particularly impressive and, more importantly, the music didn't fit the theme at all. There is a lot of potential here. The space itself is beautiful, the service was good, and they nailed many of the visual details. Unfortunately, the entertainment is such a major part of a speakeasy experience that it overshadowed everything else for us. If you're specifically looking for jazz, flapper-era music, and an authentic-feeling 1920s speakeasy atmosphere, I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

I've passed by Blue Martini many of times. It always seems to be the most hype spot on High Street, a nice entertainment district in Desert Ridge. I finally took the plunge and checked it out on a Thursday night around 9:30 p.m. Parking is easy (and free) on the street, in the surface lots, or the garage on High Street. Ambiance (3.5/5): Blue Martini is definitely a bit bougie and caters to that audience. There's a nice outdoor patio which is where we sat since the weather was beautiful. There's a bar outside and waiter service. I briefly looked inside and there's a bar inside too, lounge sitting, and a dance floor. Blue Martini often has live music or a DJ. Definitely a spot where you can break it down on the dance floor. There's bottle service too if that's your thing. Service (2/5): Talk about slow service! It took our waitress longer than it should have for us to greet us. After placing an order for drinks, we received them promptly. After that we didn't see her again for quite a while. I wanted to order a second cocktail and she was nowhere to be found. Eventually she came around and I placed my order. I decided to close out right then and there knowing that it would take a long time to track her down to close out if I didn't do it right then and there. They also charge two fees amounting to 5%. Not sure what that's all about. Food (N/A): While they do have food, I just had drinks since I was there pretty late. I view Blue Martini as more of a drinks spot, but I can't comment on the food. They have a daily happy hour with discounts on select food items. Drinks (3.5/5): If the name isn't a dead giveaway, Blue Martini specializes in martinis. Beyond martinis, they have a large cocktail list. Plus everything else you'd find with a full bar. The drinks are a bit pricey (it is a see and be seen type of spot after all and you're likely to see old geezers pulling up in Lambos and Ferraris), but I liked the selection. I started off with the Blue Martini, their namesake. It's served with a blue glow stick. From there, I had the strawberry basil martini. Both were pretty good. Not speakeasy quality cocktails but better than your average bar for sure. While Blue Martini isn't really my scene, I can have a good time anywhere. If you're looking to turn up and dance, it's a good spot for that. And it's also elite for people watching.

We arrived about a half hour early so we could be seated together. On our last visit, the service was pretty slow, so this time we were hoping to get our drink and food orders in right away to make sure everything arrived before the show started. Our group noticed that the menu prices are definitely on the higher side, but it is what it is. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. For drinks, we had a mix of beers, wine, and cocktails. For food, we ordered the nachos with no protein, cauliflower bites, wings, and chicken tenders. Our server was really nice, but he definitely seemed overwhelmed. The nachos arrived pretty quickly, well before our drinks, and the chicken tenders came next. The wings and cauliflower bites arrived about 15 minutes later... and we were still waiting on our drinks. Those finally showed up after the wings. I totally understand that it gets extremely busy with everyone trying to get their food and drinks before the show, but we definitely would have preferred to have our drinks arrive before or at least during the beginning of our meal. The nachos were a little difficult to eat because of the way they're served. They come stacked really high on a small rectangular tray. I'm guessing this is designed to save table space since the tables are pretty small, but I think a larger tray where the nachos could be spread out would make them much easier to eat. The wings were great! Our table did half Buffalo and half garlic Parmesan, and it was nice that they were able to split the order between two different sauces. The chicken tenders were just okay and unfortunately weren't very hot when they came out. The comedian was great, and we had so many laughs. One thing we did notice was that the neon sign on the stage was half burned out. Come on, guys!!! Get that fixed! Even the comedian noticed it and made a joke about it during the show. Overall, we really enjoy having a comedy club right here in Desert Ridge. Despite the slower service and a few food issues, it's always a fun evening out with friends. A few tweaks and it could be so much better!

They were nice enough to provide mini water bottles in the line, since it was so hot standing in line outside. We were told to go through Copper Blues for entry, which I had previously not done at the prior show, and asked to just stand there. All the tables were taken, and there was just a huge crowd standing around all these full tables. Waitresses come up to you for a drink order, but when you order from them, it does not count towards your 2 minimum drink order inside the club. There were overserving A LOT of guests. Women were extremely drunk, and a lot of men were becoming aggressive. No organization as to how we were supposed to line up, or stand. A lot of shit talking about people feeling like others were cutting them in line, yet no clear instructions on how to line up if you didn't have a wristband of blue or yellow. Ushered into the comedy room and put in a booth which was nice and close to the stage. Told again about the 2 drink mininum. My spouse and I ordred 1 alchoholic beverage each, and 1 soda each. It was $60.00 before tip.

Phil always welcomes me with a kind, warm smile, remembers me every time and lets me choose my seat up front! Enjoyed the Caesar salad with chicken tonight! Food does take a little while to come out, so please be kind and patient. They're working very hard. I would love to see some additional options added to the menu. I have to share, tonight was different than most. I'm blown away by the professionalism and skill of the caliber of comedians they bring. Josh Adam Myers and his crew handled a very difficult table up front with grace and playfulness in a way that was next-level -- this group was very obviously uncomfortable with the edgier humor and seemed completely unaware of how their energy was affecting others in the room, let alone the comedians braving the stage and simply wanting to make people happy. Josh managed to turn what could have dampened the evening into an inspiring interplay with the audience--remarkable in how he kept the energy positive. It's a reminder that the way we carry ourselves can either uplift or dim the atmosphere around us. Also... he hangs out with Jelly Roll and has an amazing dog, so go support him and his posse at another show this weekend!

I thought that was a fun introduction. I did not order any food but I did have a small piece of a friend's buffalo chicken flatbread. My friend thought it was a little too spicy. I enjoyed it. Service started off slow so a few people went up front to the entrance where the bar was to order a drink. During the show, services seemed to pick up. We had a great time with lots of laughs!

There is parking on the street or in the lot. We weren't familiar with the area so it was a bit tricky to find. It is located in the back of a coffee shop. The concept of going through the phone booth is fun. The space inside was quaint and intimate. They have a regular menu and then had a special Valentine's Day menu. I got a nice fruity cocktail that was sweet. I enjoyed it. Everything was reasonably priced. All of our drinks were pretty glittery, it made everything really pretty. My friend got a free glass of prosecco for her birthday which was nice. A good speakeasy to visit. Menu has good variety. Service was great, they ran through the menu with us and was attentive.

The price for the murder mystery was $55 which was very reasonably priced and the drinks were tasty. I did the cipher which they bring out pen and paper and you fill out how adventurous you're feeling and they will custom make you a drink. The murder mystery experience was so interactive and so much fun! If I'm honest I'd pay just for the murder mystery but the food options weren't great in flavor. The appetizer (bacon wrapped dates) only came with two small ones, and the fig app was even smaller they looked the size of peanut size m&m's. The main dishes were also not great, the skewers were lacking in flavor and the polenta had a weird texture. The tri tip just came out without any ask to cooking temp and was overcooked (well done). The dessert was probably the best tasting of the meal and it was nothing to write home about. Overall I would go out for the murder mystery but maybe hold out for a better menu.
