After 8 years an update! I met up with Michelle and her sister Sherri for a Saturday evening dinner. They got there before me and got a table in the main dining room. When I got there just about 6p, the place was packed and it was LOUD! There was no way we were having a conversation there. We asked for a table on the patio and were quickly switched to much nicer accommodations at a 4 top, open air but covered patio with multiple wide screen HDTV's and one dedicated to MTV music. Our server was a young man named Ean who took good care of us. He knew the menu well and gave us a great overview of the specials. I had the Mahi tacos on flour tortilla with tasty mango sauce. Michelle had the grilled chicken salad and Sherri had the chicken wrap. We all agreed the food was good but there was a problem with a cocktail that Sherri ordered and she had to send it back TWICE. There was NO carbonation in the soda so she ended up with an Old Fashion. This place is VERY busy and extremely popular, especially on a Saturday evening. Went on a Tuesday for a business lunch. Just 2 of us. Arrived around noon. Surprisingly not very busy. Seated immediately. Not too loud of course. Ordered a grilled Caesar salad with blackened chicken. The romaine itself was grilled. Very unique flavor. Disappointed that the chicken was not blackened. Also, not much chicken. Solid 3 Overall * Food - 4 Benjamin Burger was very good though it's hard to pay $20 for a Burger served with Mayo Packets, no Brown Mustard (or the Server didn't look...possible). Excellent Fries, though not very many. * Service - 2 Over Server wasn't attentive at all. Took our order, Expeditor brought it out...Server showed up to check on us within a minute, well before we had a chance to evaluate anything. She didn't return until it was time to pay the bill. * Noise - 2. Way noisier than necessary for a Pub / Restaurant...the rooms need to be separated (bar, booths, and tables). Multiple TVs on every wall with multiple games. Note: there is outside dinning available, but it was barely 40 degrees. I might go back if the weather was warm enough to sit outside. I've been here several times when I'm visiting my family in the area. They have good food, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and service is pretty fast. I ordered the French onion soup today and was disappointed, it wasn't up to par. The cheese on top was hard like it had been waiting in the back for someone to pick it up. It was full of onions and very little broth. Very small cup for a soup, that's why it had very little broth. Sorry I forgot to take a picture. All of the other dishes were very good. This is definitely a place to consider getting a burger near Lake Wylie. The steakhouse burger is fantastic and is well-designed unlike other burgers that are too tall to actually take a bite of. The house sauce that comes with it is also great, to the point where I found it better to use it than eat the fries bare, which is normally how I prefer them. I also appreciate that they focus on local beers, ciders, etc (though they do have the usual fare as well) Fair warning, while it's not cramped by any means, sound carries well and it can get loud if there are people watching sports. Zack, my waiter, also had great recommendations for local beer, and I'm not much of a beer guy. read more

This place has a little bit of everything on the menu and everything sounds so good so it's hard to decide! Especially if you haven't ate all day and feel like you could eat one of everything. They have lots happy hour specials so we did a starter of dry rub wings and the mini spicy quesadilla while we made up our minds. Both were great and perfect portions to try a little without being overly miserable before entrees. The side salad was also a good size without being heavy. Lots of fresh vegetables and the raspberry balsamic vinaigrette complimented it well. For my main dish, I went with the grilled salmon and subbed spinach in place of the green beans. I should've stuck with the beans as the spinach was swimming in the excess liquid. The black bean cake also reminded me a bit of eating black bean burgers so I would probably swap that next time. Overall though, it was a good dish and very filling without making me miserably full after the appetizers. The salmon was cooked well and was a good size. The sauce didn't have a lot of flavor but all in all, it wasn't bad. With everything offered on their menu, I would probably opt for something else next time anyway. My husband had the chicken and waffles with brussel sprouts. I had a few bites and it was very good. The chicken seemed a little over cooked but that may have just been the piece I had. Everything paired together well and the portions were huge. The waffles were cooked well and the bacon was a nice touch. The best part was probably the service and patio, to be honest. The weather was nice so having a good sized patio is always a plus. Even with the busy street outside, you don't really pay it a lot of mind between the music and everything else going on. I also loved their Halloween decorations throughout. I only wish the smoking area was situated a little further away as we were downwind from smokers most of our meal. I used to love this place but they are now skimping on portions and watering down drinks. I ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer for $12 and it was 7 small shrimp. Unbelievable. Papa Docs has a much better portion for those for the same price. My tall Captain and Diet Coke was almost transparent...so watered down. Very disappointed. We have gone to this restaurant for about 20 yrs. The food has always been really good and abundant. I have not been disappointed with anything we have gotten until now. We brought some friends new to the area for lunch. We got Cobb salads & they got chicken sandwich. The salads were smaller than I have ever seen. Mine had very little lettuce. The chicken sandwich seemed to have 1/2 of a chicken breast. I was embarrassed. We did not say anything to the staff but wish we had. I hope this was just an off day. If this is their new norm, we will be sad. Over $100 for lunch & it was not good. Went to dinner on 2/28, even for a busy Saturday night the staff was amazing, seated quickly (party of 5). We wanted to try something new with the kids. Food was average, nothing to write home about. However I got a chicken pasta dish and my fiancé the got fried pork chop dinner. The food was ok, but before we left I was in the bathroom throwing up, as i continued to do for the next 6 hours. It hit my fiancé about 2 hours after me. We were the only 2 to try my pasta, so it had to be something in that. Luckily the kids were ok, but we were down for 2 days. Never again will we go back. I really wanted to like this place as it's close to us, but nothing about it makes me want to go back. read more

We live very close to this restaurant so we get takeout a LOT! We're usually extremely pleased but we're starting to see some issues. Last order was so severely burnt it was inedible! The manager was nice and gladly offered a refund but that food should have never left the kitchen in that state. Now our order was completely wrong. Everything we asked for was wrong. This is even more annoying when it's takeout so you can't just ask your server to fix it. PLEASE fix these issues with the kitchen so we can keep eating here! read more

Really good lunch. Our server wasn't warm, but she was very efficient. Our food came out so quickly that I was shocked. Pretty amazing. The wonton dip was very good and full of real crab. It really needs a sweet chili sauce of some sort drizzled on top to break up the richness, but that's my only food complaint. Wedge salad was awesome and so was the burger. Average across the board... except the beer selection, they have Pernicious on tap. Go just for the beer. The gluten free options were limited and the staff were not particularly knowledgeable. So a little education and some substitutions later and I have a burger with gluten free bun and collard greens. The burger was cooked to order, small, and did not hold its shape ( fell apart) , the bun was requested toasted, it had very little color and was not toasted and the cook may have added butter and not toasted it enough so they made it even more soggy. That is just someone who does not understand their craft. The greens needed more time in the pot and less vinegar. Your memaw would say you know better. Surprise Surprise! As part of a work meeting, this was our prearranged dinner place. I was a little skeptical when we pulled into the busy gravel parking lot. Truthfully, I rolled by eyes while envisioning warmed up prefab food being plopped down in front of me. Erase that vision immediately! The place was bustling with Sunday Night Football on the screen. Our wait staff was hustling... she was spot on as soon as we came in as a party of 10 from waters being full, drinks from the bar, and the correctness of all the orders. Love this place. Everything about it. The staff is great. The atmosphere is laid back and family friendly. We walked in the front and even though the lady was busy doing something she still immediately greeted us and asked how many ppl we had. We had three and she asked if a high top would be okay and seated us. Our server was amazing! I mean this lady was running the whole bar, by herself, and serving us all at the same time. She was on point with every aspect of her service. Mind you, we went at lunch time so the bar was pretty full. And it's not a short bar. She took our orders and the food came out in perfect timing. She was attentive to our needs the entire visit. The food was perfection! My daughter had the Crispy Chicken Tenders appetizer w/ a side of fries. She said they were the best tenders she's had at any restaurant. The hubby had the Sea Bass and devoured it. I had the Lu Lu's Chicken Limonese and it was great. So much flavor and the capers just gave it that extra boost. The potatoes were perfect. We've been here one other time a while back and they are definitely consistent in the service and quality. My wife and I visited family in Charlotte and they took us to The Copper Premium Pub in Lake Wiley. This is our second visit and The Pub is continuing its great performance as a local restaurant. The Pub is a traditional restaurant with a bar, inside and outside eating space. It looks like a pretty ordinary eatery until they bring you the Shrimp and Grits. This is not the boring shrimp and grits mix you get at most restaurants. Copper Pub's shrimp and grits is a fantastic blend of shrimp, andouille sausage, bacon and vegetable bits mixed with a mildly spicy cream sauce. Consistently amazing food!!! Copper's NEVER fails us!! I eat their Salmon frequently. I get mine without the Citrus Glaze, and get it blackened instead. YUMMM!! I have been to the Copper Pub several times since 2021, but this review is based on my most recent visit 1st week March 2024. We visited with 5 people. The food has definitely dropped off a lot. The fish tacos, which was my go-to, tasted off. Strong fishy, "unfresh" taste probably previously frozen and definitely past expiration date. Barely palatable. 3 people ordered burgers that were unimpressive - it wasn't just the fish. We also ordered a spring roll appetizer that was not significantly better than a frozen store take home. For a beer or to watch a game with friends, it's nice - get dinner elsewhere first. read more

The servers here are so very nice. The food is really good 90% of the time but my rant is that I was in the restaurant the other evening and the owner made his rounds through the restaurant. He stopped at all the tables around us and greeted the people at those tables and passed us up. I am a customer as well. Why didn't he stop and greet my table? Would this be acceptable if his staff did the same thing? I guess there is something wrong with me that I am not good enough to be greeted like the other patrons. We have gotten sick 2 out of 2 times we have been here. Last week my husband got food poisoning from undercooked chicken. We had issues both times and had to speak to the manager. This most recent time we could tell our waitress hated her job from the beginning and wasn't friendly to us. I mentioned needing a gluten free bun 3 times, it didn't arrive with a gf bun, she brought it out again lacking all the toppings, then brought me a plate of shredded cheese for my chicken sandwich (unmelted). I want to like this place because it's decently priced but they keep striking out. I dont think we'll go back for a 3rd strike unless I need to cut a few lbs and take my chance at getting food poisoning again. read more

We came here in a whim as we drove by it and we were not disappointed!!! There are a few restaurants on this little highway strip near Lake Wylie and this one stood out for us. The staff was courteous and friendly and we had a pretty quick turn around time on our food. I had wings and my wife had the protein salad. The wings were big and crispy which is always a good thing and the house ranch was delicious and home made. The protein salad comes with a heap of meat (chicken,salmon) on a Giant bed of lettuce. The beer prices were also generous for what we were getting. This is our new favorite place and we will definitely be back. read more
