The faucet on our insinkerator hot water dispenser broke. We called Copperfield Plumbing and got an appointment the same day. They let me know they had a water heater job before us, so this could run late. When it did run later than expected, they gave us a call to let us know. We figured we'd have to replace the whole dispenser unit, but Luis and Jonathan were able to fix it by replacing a washer. When we went to pay them, they refused to take any payment, and in their words 'we're not charging for a washer'. They were knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Answered call on first attempt and agreed to come out the next day to replace our water pressure reducer valve that had gone bad and caused a loud humming sound in the pipes every time we used a water source (sink, shower, etc.). Fidel and his crew have completed 2 separate jobs for us over the last 2 years. First Fidel himself installed a whole house water filtration system in our 3,000 sq. ft. home. One of his crew installed the water line from under our kitchen sink to our ice and water dispenser on our LG refrigerator. He also exchanged a gas line elbow behind our gas stove to have it fit more flush with the wall behind it. He also installed a new toilet downstairs for us. Fidel came out and was very knowledgeable about the services we needed completed and extremely very friendly and give us a quote we couldn't pass up. The work was thorough and completed in a timely manner. In 2 years never have we had an issue. The second time Fidel and crew were called for a second time it was to have them install 2 new toilets upstairs. CP came out to fix my water heater that was leaking. My first impression of them was that they didn't know what they were doing. They seemed overwhelmed by the problem and took 4 hours to complete the job, which at $160/hr plus parts added up to $800. Surprisingly they stayed until 7:30 PM to complete it. When done, they seemed anxious to tell me that the water heater had leaks at multiple unions and how hard it was to get to all of the unions. After they completed the water heater leak work, that evening the furnace wasn't working. (The system I have is a water furnace where the water heater and the furnace work together to heat the house.) I called them back but they claimed not have touched the furnace and it seemed to me like they wouldn't know how to fix it anyway. So I ended up paying another $150 to get the furnace up and running again. Two weeks later, the contractors working on the house, told me the water heater is leaking again. They said they know how to fix it but suggested I call CP back since they originally worked on it. I've decide not to. After the above experience, I don't trust Copperfield Plumbing and would rather pay the contractors, who I know and trust, to do the work. CP has 60 positive reviews here so they must be OK, but I won't call them again. read more

My mother's shower would not drain and the water started to back up. She has a plumber that she has used in the past and asked me to call them. I called and left them messages with no reply. I texted and a few hours later they replied stating they could not come until Monday. I had called on a Thursday and could not wait until Monday since I was just visiting my mom from out of town and was leaving on Sunday. I called Copperfield and Fidel answered right away. I was doing some DIY plumbing on my toilet and of course, as I was securing the toilet back to the floor, one of the studs appeared to break off. After a few choice words, I knew that I would have to not only replace the hardware, but the flange was very rusted (it is only 67 years old) and would need to be replaced as well. I checked Yelp to find some plumbing companies and the one that popped out was Copperfield Plumbing. Every review I read, which was just about all of them, was positive and had no bad things to say about Copperfield. I called them at 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon, talked to Fernando and expected that since it wasn't an emergency, they would come out Monday. He pulled his van over; took my info and said he would see us at 8:00 am the next morning (Saturday)! Wow! Very cool. Once Fernando arrived (early), he looked at the flange and told me the flange was still good and he would be able to reseat the toilet without replacing the flange. Again, wow. They turned down work and advised me that they could fix it cheaper. He replaced all the hardware (posts, washers, nuts, etc.), reseated the toilet and 45 minutes later he was done. If you need a plumbing company for any of your needs, I highly recommend hiring Copperfield Plumbing. Fernando was wonderful, very professional and making sure the area was protected. We had an emergency leak inside the wall. Fidel picked up the call. Very calm, no pressure sale like others. It was 4:00pm on Friday. John showed up at 5:20. Great guy, listened carefully for the leak, figured out the location. Informed they don't fix Sheetrock. We agreed and within 30 minutes the leak was fixed. We've used Copperfield multiple times as our main sewer line likes to get bogged up by tree roots (per their technicians). They've always been on the pricier side but were always responsive and available. HOWEVER, our last experience was not good. Technician came out and cleared the line and tested it - great, but when he went to remove the snake, it got stuck and he struggled with it for sometime before going under the house to see what was going on. Turns out he discovered a crack in the pipe. Its hard to say if it was already there or if it was caused by him trying to get the snake out. The technician called his boss to quote the repair of the broken line and quoted approximately $4,100 dollars for about 10 feet of pipe. I decided to get a second opinion and went with a small business owner who charged us $350 for 5 feet of line as the other 5 was not necessary unless it were to break during the repair of the other section. It's crazy what a difference in price!! I don't understand. read more
