We recently went here I'm too occasions - once for breakfast add another day for lunch. The breakfast items, which we've had on three different occasions, were quite good and the coffee was very good. Our experience at lunch was a bit different. One of us had the grilled cheese sandwich, which the person said was very good, another had the fish and chips, which was reported to be very good as well, one person had a salad, which they said was okay, one person had a hamburger, which was lacking, and the fifth person have the geoduck clam chowder, which had a heavy concentration of celery taste to it, few clams, and many quite large potato chunks. Again, we have only been to lunch year once while going to breakfast here several times. We recommend the breakfast. The environment is quite lovely with the interior having an open air feel and a fireplace in the room. If you or one of your guests gets chilled easily, it is suggested they take a light jacket as it can be cooler inside as well as outside. On all occasions, the staff was personable, professional, and attentive to our needs. We rank them as excellent. read more

As a recently frequent visitor to Washington for work, I often stay nearby, and Copperleaf has become a go-to spot, especially when meeting up with colleagues for drinks. They offer a great selection of cocktails, wine, and spirits. I was looking forward to enjoying a drink I had on a previous visit, but found out they rotate their menu seasonally--something to keep in mind if you have a favorite. This review is for the bar specifically. My wife and I commute via SEATAC regularly and we like to visit the Copperleaf for dinner or snacks before or after flying. We have been here at least 5 times over the past two years. Generally, when we dine at the restaurant we have really excellent service and food. It is really nice during the summer to dine al fresco and the wait staff are really attentive...especially because we inform them when we have a flight or some other sort of deadline. Our last two visits to Copperleaf we went to the bar (June & September 2025). On the first visit we were two of three people in the room. From the outset, we informed the bartender that we were attending a concert that night and needed to leave by a certain time (1 hour and 30 minutes later). We had a couple drinks and ordered an appetizer and a burger. After ordering, the bar got a little busier, but our food never showed. We finally had to ask a manager to intervene to get our burger out of the kitchen and we ultimately had to rush out after scarfing our food. The second visit was even worse. Again, we made a point to let the bar staff know we had a deadline to drop my wife off at the airport (1:30 prior to projected drop off time). This time we ordered drinks, two apps and an entree. In this case, there was an excessively long wait for food that went unacknowledged by the staff. Again, we had to ask a manager to intervene to get our food out of the kitchen. Instead of coming out at a normal pace (apps, then entree), all of the food came out at once leaving us little time to enjoy our dinner. It's really disappointing because we love the venue and normally get great food and service from the restaurant, but I would warn anyone looking for a quick drink or snack from the bar...service can be subpar. read more

Came here since it was close to the airport and wanted to eat dinner before leaving. It was only about a 5 minute drive to seatac airport which was perfect timing. We ordered the scallop chowder and baguette for the appetizer and it was absolutely delicious! They asked if we wanted to share it and we said yes, so they served the soup in two bowls which was great. The baguette was a great touch and elevated the appetizer. For dessert, we ordered the lemon curd bavarois which was so good! I typically don't like lemon flavor desserts but my boyfriend does so we tried it out. It was the perfect amount of sour lemon and sugar and the bottom tasted of yogurt. I'm glad I ordered it since I would've overlooked it if it weren't for my boyfriend. The bathroom was super clean and they had free salts to use as an exfoliator while washing your hands. It smelled amazing and made my hands feel so soft. Came here for my birthday and was blown away by the food and service. Started with mock-tails that were just okay, little too tart for me. Ordered the tuna noodles, bread and butter, pork belly and the seasonal green salad to start. Pork belly melted in my mouth, the pickled veg were a nice addition to the sweet/richness of the pork. Tuna noodles were my favorite, light and just the right amount of seasoning. Bread was good and warm, the tomato pesto was not good though. The salad was good but the goat cheese was a little too much for me. For mains, we got the steak and the mad thatcher chicken. Each main came with potatoes and the chicken came with a mini salad. The salad on my chicken was personally better than the one we ordered because it was lighter and simpler (lemon, oil). The potatoes were good, a simple roasted one that wasn't heavy handed. The chicken was good but the sauce (the lighter one) was a little too much for me, the lighter green one was good. Partner said the steak was fine, the potatoes that came with hers were good, a solid crispy potato. I love potatoes. We ordered the lemon curd for dessert and that was SO good, the Greek yogurt layer really helped balance the acidity and the cake croutons were a nice textural element. The restaurant is situated in a quiet lodge surrounded by trees. Very peaceful in the middle of bustling SeaTac. They seated me without a reservation right away. One of my axioms about restaurants is that you can tell a lot about their quality by the kind of tea they serve. They don't make much money or reputation from their tea, so quality in that department shows a depth of quality in the details. I asked for herbal tea with honey. The server didn't offer any selection, but he returned with a very nice herbal tea from Smith Teas, one of my favorite brands. I think it was rosehips with maybe some blueberry. He also brought a high quality honey. I ordered the Sleeping Garden Panisse, which was very good. It did not appear to include the brussel sprouts that were mentioned on the menu, but it made up for that with a few items that weren't mentioned: carrots, pomegranate seeds, and a really delicate green of some sort. The dining room is downstairs from the lodge like lobby with tables situated surrounding the grand fireplace. Highlights: Grilled Spanish Octopus - perfectly grilled and so flavorful with the grilled fennel and harissa oil. Black and Blue Salad - delicious and nice with the addition of dried cherries. Plus, pickled onions are life. Honey Roasted Duck Breast - I was torn between the duck, halibut, and chicken. Gerardo guided me to the duck and it was a home run. With excellent food and beautiful atmosphere, the Copperleaf is a good choice for brunch if you're picking up/dropping off from Seatac Airport. Between various visits, I've discovered that while the dungeness benedict is good and the mimosas and bloody marys are alright, the smoked salmon bagel is my clear favorite. Beyond being big enough to enjoy half at home, the flavor of the salmon is perfectly balanced with an everything bagel, chive cream cheese, capers, and delicious red onions. So tasty! While the quality of food is good, it's worth noting that while the majority of the staff are attentive, from what I've experienced in the mornings, they seem somewhat lackluster. It's as if they're just breezing through the motions of their job, and for the price, I'd personally hope for a bit more. This said, I do visit every so often, but mostly when I really want to focus on conversation with those at my table, rather than be "wowed" by the service. read more

I was looking on Yelp for a yummy restaurant to treat my mom to yesterday, the reviews and pictures for copperleaf were intriguing. We first called to make sure they were open (sometimes these days hours posted can be wrong) a young lady answered I think she may have been training. She said we could come in and sit in the bar. When we got there nobody was really in the restaurant, the bar tender was juicing some fruit and said we could take a seat. He continued juicing, so my mom went to grab a menu, turned out to be a spirits list and I think it rubbed the bar tender the wrong way that she didn't wait for him to finish his task at hand. I could tell by the way he responded, he dropped the menu. About 10 minutes later he finally took our drink order. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the drink was divine. I got one of their signature cocktails, the cinnamon sour with house-made basil liquor. It was seriously good. After telling him the drink was great he actually smiled and loosened up his hardened look. The lunch menu is rather small and didn't have the things we Originally eyeing. So we opted for French fries and a Caesar salad with shrimp. When I ordered I asked him can I please have a side of yummy aioli with the fries. Fries came, no aioli... ketchup and yogurt sauce. Like a tiziki. The shrimp must have went bad, then they froze it and used hot water to thaw. It had the most god awful fishy flavor and the worst texture I had to spit out immediately. When he came over he was understanding and asked if we wanted anything else, I said we might want to wait for the dinner menu at 5 but that I would like a side of the herb Mayo (since aioli he didn't understand) for the fries. Server came back and dropped off the same yogurt sauce he originally came with so now our fries are cold, waiting on sauce which was failed twice. Yogurt sauce was watery and not flavorful also not what we asked for. Manager came over and apologized for The shrimp and third Times a charm finally got the aioli. We went to the Copperleaf for my wife's birthday and had a fantastic experience. I had not been to the Copperleaf in 10 years! Sunday night was quiet and not too busy, so we had lots of great attention and service from the wonderful staff. We split a salad and baguette, followed by entrees of duck and salmon. Both were excellent and the fig jam sauce on the duck was a special touch. For dessert we split the Basque cheesecake, which was served with fresh fruit and a caramel sauce. This was one of the best meals we have had in some time and we look forward to going back. read more

Had breakfast after staying a couple nights at the resort for my husband's work. I had the breakfast sandwich that came on a crispy toasted seeded bread. The egg was cooked to perfection...slightly gooey, partially set, "jammy" center and a tomato jam that was a delectable mix of sweet and savory. Husband ordered the traditional eggs Benedict that were anything but. It arrived loaded with shaved ham on what appeared to be a homemade English muffin and topped with cream Hollandaise sauce that had a rich and tangy flavor. Both came with a side of little potatoes that seemed to be baked more than fried. The skins were crispy and the insides fluffy. They were salty, but not overly so, with maybe a hint of rosemary. Located in the big, airy,main hall of a wooden beamed lodge, you're welcomed by big ambience that suggests great things to come. The food photos, seen here, promised us tip-top cuisine. Then the food service comes, and you're b*t*h-slapped back into a level of culinary mediocrity more befitting of the kitchen of a Waffle House. The table next to us ordered the very pricy sablefish, and sent it back because it was delivered stone cold. Fail whomever should be checking the dishes leaving the kitchen. Our bread rolls came out. Dry, and stale. The top of the butter was incredibly salty. There was a bit of salt grain on the top, but it clearly had been salted before, because someone remixed the butter so it was a sodium fest, top to bottom. I sadly didn't see that plate as a Lost-In-Space robot moment: WARNING, WILL ROBINSON! DANGER! DANGER! We started with the smoked scallop chowder, which faked us out. It was perfect. We were warned by the server that they don't make it piping hot, to avoid overcooking the scallops. Dead on. I thought that we were going to get past the other table's bad fortune. But no. The Dungeness crab risotto tasted great, but it had no risotto consistency, a watery mess, and an appetizer worthy serving of crab meat. $35-ish? For this? Fail the line cook, and whomever was checking the plates going out (again.) The rabbit pappardelle looked to be a big treat, on the menu. Few places braise bunny. It's usually the superstar dish on a menu. Here? The sauce was thin. Nothing stuck to the noodles. The white meat was dry as dust. The dark meat had some small, very sharp bones that an impatient prep brings when you crack them off, rather than cut them out. After my sixth Bugs bone, I could hear Elmer Fudd say: "Be vewy vewy quiet.. I'm hunting for choking bits." I gave up on eating it. I showed the bones to the server. Reminded her that the more elderly clientele could easily choke on these. She took them back to the kitchen. Radio silence from that meal morgue. No chef. No manager. BIG FAIL. The dessert was equally disappointing. The "flourless chocolate cake," a culinary MBA fave, with the hazelnut riff, chocolate mousse and cherry sauce was a stale, BONE DRY brownie, which the moisture of the mousse couldn't help, along with hazelnuts so bland that a COVID patient wouldn't feel guilty about not being able to taste them. The cappuccino arrived with more poorly poured foamy peaks than the Himalayas. My espresso shot, had the machine been calibrated correctly, was good grade coffee, but it was literally executed with enough acid that if you poured it over a mob hit, he'd disappear quickly into New Jersey's meadowlands. The bar was the only rock star, serving up some really well made cocktails that earned their price. Star for them, and for the servers, and front of the house staff, who were five-star, with this two-star kitchen fiasco. If the chef was out, on Sunday, they need a new sous, or for chef to maybe take off Mondays, and CLOSE. If the chef was in? At $30-54 a plate, for mains? $9-19 for smalls? Absolutely inexcusable. The dinner here was incredible. I got the melon salad and the crispy pork and both were unreal. I loved it so much I took an Uber back the next day- but that turned out to be a mistake. I was very hungry and after the previous dinner I was expecting the best grilled cheese of my life. I got a burnt sandwich with what seemed like a kraft single. They remade it for me but it was still burnt. The host was nice to comp meal. I still left disappointed and wouldn't return for lunch. I'm not sure if they were just too busy with an event, but I was surprised to have such a variance in one meal to the next. After check-in, I stepped over to make a reservation. I was able to get a reservation for 2 in 30 minutes. When we arrived, they led us to a table at the edge of the covered patio. It started raining and it was on the cooler side, but they had heaters at every table and turned up the heater before we were seated. I started with a cocktail, Rainer Raindrop; grapefruit, Scrappy's cardamom, vodka. Relaxing after my drive up to Seattle. Opted for a lighter dinner, Baby Spinach Salad. Added roasted chicken on the spinach, roasted peppers, hard boiled egg, goat cheese, toasted walnuts and sherry vinaigrette. They were very generous with the chicken and I couldn't finish. But, exactly what I was looking for. As for wines by the glass, there were only 2 options for a Chardonnay. The Maurice, Conner Lee Vineyard, Chardonnay was $23. Yikes. Husband ordered the Katsu Pork Curry. He was disappointed, but I didn't try a bite. He did need to ask for more curry because there was very little that came with it. Typically, I would give 3 stars; however, our service was excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive. In addition, despite the cold and rain, the ambiance was cozy with the heater and views of the water features that meander around the hotel property. So I was back in Seattle and went to Copperleaf again. I was very much looking forward to going back being that I enjoyed it so much last year. I enjoyed it again, but not as much. This was mainly due to their menu change. Yes I know restaurants change their menu but I was hoping that a couple of the items I had last year was still available. We ordered the Cheese & Charcuterie plate, Crispy Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts, Parmesan Truffle Fries, Caramelized Diver Scallops, Dry Aged Honey Duck, Snake River Farm Washington Wagyu Beef, Lemon Curd Bavarois, and the Peanut Butter S'mores. There were a few things that I did not like but I won't specify them only because those items are ones I don't like in general and would not ever order. It was ordered because I was with friends and they wanted it. So, other than those items, everything else was really good. You can tell that that food is fresh and care is taken in preparing them. The one item I was very disappointed with was the Snake River Farm with Washington Wagyu Beef. The flavor was just okay but it was cooked perfectly. The portion size was ridiculously small for the $52 it cost. I understand Wagyu is special but this was just ridiculous. The presentation of all the dishes were gorgeous and the service was great as well. The main dining area is so cozy and quaint. We sat in the bar which was great, a little more talk, games playing on the tv, a full bar and great service. We tried the Burrata .. aside from the amount of sea salt sprinkled on top, it was fantastic. I loved the sea salt but it was a little over done. The beets and Burrata combo were delicious. I had the grass fed beef. For medium well, it was pretty "well" it's served with a gratin but it tasted so much better with a side of Parmesan fries. Maybe that's just my personal preference. I spent hours planning dining options and details before we coming to Seattle from the SF bay area. I searched specifically for "Happy Hour" near the airport open on Monday evening. Several spots came up on my search, but Copperleaf seemed to be closest with the highest rating, and HEY! Happy Hour prices are always nice to have when you are on your way out of town. The first thing that we noticed other than beautiful decor, was that the front of house manager/hostess, who was a medium build woman wearing a matronly dress in her 60's, was that she seemed a bit snooty and condescending as she asked if we had reservations and then explained that the dining room was closed and that for a time, they would only be able to seat us in the bar where we would have to wait for the kitchen to open. Granted, I am on vacation. I have my bathing suit under a sun dress. I am not here to impress her, I am here to relax. After seating us in the bar, we settled into a comfortable booth and ordered some moderately expensive cocktails, at which time our very nice female server explained to us that they did not have a happy hour menu, and that for the several months she had been working, they had not been offering happy hour. That was incredibly disappointing. The entire reason we were in Copperleaf was because past cusomers raved about happy hour. Our entire motive and an expensive Lyft ride had been wasted coming. My boyfriend ordered a Negroni which was supposed to have a hint of coffee liquor added and I ordered a Naked and Famous, which the server had never heard of. When the cocktails arrived, it was quite apparent that the bartender had not tasted them. The Negroni's normal bouquet of flavors were completely drowned out by an overpowering and unpleasant coffee flavor. Upon tasting, I was immediately feeling pity for him and offered to share mine. My cocktail was just ok. It wasn't horrible like his. They were above 15 each so it felt like a huge burn when we didn't get Happy Hour prices AND his cocktail was disgusting! After about an hour, at about five, they finally opened the kitchen and we were allowed to order off of a regular dinner menu. First we ordered a Mahón Manorca Cheese plate, at 22 dollars. This was 4 paper-thin slices of what looked and tasted like Munster cheese, served with about a teaspoon of candied pecans, about 1/4 of a sliced pear, and a couple of fruit crackers. We spent 22 dollars to get hosed and we could have eaten better at the Safeway Deli. It really felt like a burn. The next thing that arrived was a decent 12$ salad. It was nothing fancy, just some frisee or arugala, but the dressing was good and I liked the tablespoon of Hazelnuts on top. We had SO wanted to relax to hors d' oevres. This bait and switch by management made us seriously sad at 5pm near the airport. However, we decided that since the only steak on the menu was 40 dollars, and the menu description seemed ok, we would order the Painted Hills Grass Fed Beef with "grilled broccollini, foraged mushrooms, marrow butter, red wine sauce, yukon gold potato gratin, bistro cut." Meh. Although the steak was well executed and cooked to temperature, it wasn't a very large portion for the price. The broccolini had not been blanched and was a bit stringy. The Yukon Gold Potato Gratin was NOT Gratin Dauphinoix and lacked Gruyere, the Marrow Butter and "Red Wine Sauce" (whatever THAT is) were underwhelming and all of the sides and the steak were underseasoned. While we were seated in the bar, we met a nice photographer named Patricia. Patricia was originally from Taiwan, but she has lived in Los Angeles for many years. We had a great time talking with Patricia and she was staying at the hotel and ahowed us wonderful photos of a wildlife expedition she had been to the day before. After about ten minutes of noticing that the six businessmen at the bar hightop all had bread, I had requested some. It was herb bread. It arrived, day-old and stale, with a generous portion of butter. After food began getting served, the people on the other side of Patricia who arrived 40 minutes after Patricia, got bread. Each time, it was the snooty hostess who brought the bread to everyone else, except for the Asian woman to our left. I have recently taken an early childhood education class on Affirming Diversity. One of the goals of Anti-Bias Education is Activism. As a result, as a white woman, I have been taught that I must speak for others in siuations where I see discrimination. I called the manager over and pointed out to her that she had left Patricia out, and that I had given Patricia two pieces of my own stale bread. The manager stammered and apologized TO ME. It literally took me 3-4 times of repeating to her "you don't owe ME an apology; you owe HER an apology," before the manager even looked at Patricia and finally apologized TO HER! I am giving it 2 stars for the waitress, and because we met Patricia, who was lovely company, and took our photo. read more

Copperleaf Restaurant & Bar - New American Near Me - SeaTac, Washington

We went to Copperleaf for thanksgiving dinner. It was a set 4 course dinner that cost 85 dollars per person. The restaurant is inside of the main lodge of the hotel. It is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The ambiance is very good. We were seated promptly with our reservation. The menu had 4 main dish options, and 2 dessert options. The meal also came with soup and salad. The apple chestnut soup was really delicious. My favorite dish of the night. I chose the smoked fish and my husband chose the short rib, both were tasty. We had one each for dessert, unfortunately that's where the meal fell short. The pumpkin pie was of a pasty consistency and the spices overpowered the whole dessert. The Apple strudel was good by itself but the pistachio ice cream on top only tasted like fake almond flavor cheap ice cream. As for the service, our waiter was fine for the most part, but at one point, he forgot to bring us bread with our soup. We could see he got side tracked, but when I reminded him, he replied, "I know but if I bring you bread you would be full and could not eat the rest of the meal." I don't know why he felt the need to decide for us if I would be too full with bread or not, I'm tiny but my husband is 6'4 and sturdy, he can eat! He did bring bread eventually but we had finished our soup at that point. This is a pretty nice place but with the pricing and location, I think it can definitely be better. 4 star for meal, 3.5 star factoring the sassy wait stuff. read more

A+ Ambiance but both the food and service were lacking. We tried one appetizer, two side dishes, and three entrees. The Brussels sprouts were glazed in an incredibly sweet sauce which was not mentioned on the menu, the scallops were delicious but the accompanying cranberries didn't really pair well with them. The service was lackluster which I expect in fast casual restaurants but not at a formal dinner service. One of our side dishes came out after we had eaten our entrees which our server apologized for but we didn't really want it at that point. I think next time, I'd go for the bar menu and maybe order room service. read more
