Farm to table restaurant in a rustic lodge like setting. Very comfortable, large fireplace for that true lodge feel. I ordered the New England clam Chowder it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. The bartender is very versatile. I had a love and murder, then he suggested a Paper Plane. Delicious. My main course is a new addition to the menu. Baja Shrimp tacos. The shrimp are qqqqqgrilled to perfection, Smokey loaded with flavor. The cabbage slaw radish cilantro, and avocado round out this taco and combine into a powerhouse of flavors. These are fantastic. Wonderful restaurant in a fantastic hotel. I ordered the charcuterie board which was absolutely magnificent and full of yummy ingredients--including the largest green olives I've seen in my life. I ordered the dungeness crab toast, which while delicious, I expected to be warm and not cold (not knocking off points for this, though!). I didn't really enjoy the matcha lemonade mocktail--it didn't taste very much like matcha at all and didn't have any sweetness to balance out the lemon and make it a nice lemonade. I think this place is definitely worth trying if you're staying in the Cedarbrook. read more

When you walk outside, it's very soothing and enjoyable to walk around (apparently 18 acres). Got some great photos, especially with my husband and friends! When you go inside, it's very spacious and when I went for Easter brunch, it was surprising by how much room there was but so little options of food. Don't get me wrong, the food was pretty good, just wish there was more options especially for the price ($80 per person). What options they have for food is a meat-cutting station (2 meats: pork belly & steak), omelet station, breakfast items, seafood, salads, breads, desserts, coffee station and drink station. It might seem a lot but it's not. On the other hand, service was excellent, the 2 waitresses were awesome because of how spontaneous they were, shared their personal stories with us and how much they were consistently checking up on us to see if we were doing alright. Our sever Anna did a fantastic job and didn't make us feel rushed through our dinner as we were enjoying our time on the patio. This is a really fun place. Quiet. Good food. A pretty dining room with a large fireplace. The menu has something for most. The server was our favorite though. I wish I could remember her name. An awesome time! Had my birthday dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening. The atmosphere and menu was great. Our server Piper made the our experience simply AMAZING. She explained each course and and the was in which the ingredients were sourced and prepared. Piper helped us to navigate the menu (An overwhelming book of several themes). First and Foremost, ask for Donna to be your server and sit outside before it gets too cold. We sat at around 6:15PM. Service from Donna made the experience that much more enjoyable. We stopped by because we have seen the menu online for some months now. Food was delicious and as expected. The duck leg was probably one of our favorites along with the beef roll which was mine. The wine recommendation by Donna was excellent for the occasion. #TrustDonna the atmosphere was very peaceful being near the fish pond. As the sun set, the lighted park transformed the evening to a delightful scenic dinner. Try the Smith red nectar tea, and the Jack ryan Wine for drinks. The Camembert Cheese, Cascade Dry-cured speck, Lummi island salmon tartine to start Order The Spanish octopus pork belly, the chef cut beef steak ribeye, strawberry halibut salad, 10 hour smoked beef roll, and the duck leg. I took my mother here for Mother's Day and the brunch was grate and the location is very unique. They have some of their own gardens outside that you can walk through as well. The food is great quality and it's very tasty with some healthy options as well. read more

Not sure if kitchen was short staffed, food came out so slow despite it not seeming to be busy. wish our bartender waiter would have apologized or communicated to us about food status. bar was only us at table and two single drinkers and there were 3 bartenders. I've wanted to try this restaurant for a while and with current COVID limitations saw they are doing covered outdoor dining with heaters for their Camp Copperleaf dining. It truly is covered yet with air flow and tables well-spaced so I felt quite comfortable especially with the heaters. We enjoyed a really nice dinner on New Year's Eve with the rolls, green salad, penne pasta with prawns, bacon cheeseburger, and creme brulee. All the dishes were delicious. Rolls were perfect with nicely salted, soft butter, perfectly dressed & seasoned salad, delicious penne with LARGE prawns, and my husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger. If anything the creme brulee was the least favorite part (a few too many nuts IMO) but even that was good. It was a really nice dinner out with great service and we look forward to returning. read more

The copper leaf restaurant is located downstairs at the cedarbrook Lodge. It's a bit pricey, but the menu is quality, the service is good, and the food is excellent. They have a beautiful indoor dining room as well as outdoor dining for warmer months. During the summer they will have casual barbecues and other events, so it's good to keep an eye on their website! Check out their holiday meals as well. We went there for Thanksgiving this year and it was excellent! read more

Prior to the pandemic, this would have been a 5 star review. The food used to be out of this world amazing. Gorgeous presentation, absolutely delicious, and the service was great! But... we've been back twice since the pandemic, and unfortunately it has gone downhill. Not being a 5 star restaurant anymore is okay... I mean, it's a disappointment, but I get it, things changed with the pandemic and they went in a different direction. I miss the impeccable presentation and near michelin level food, but again, I get it. It's now just like any downtown Seattle bougie restaurant, but they use good ingredients, so it's nice to get that style of food without travelling to Seattle. So if you're expecting what it used to be, you'll be disappointed. The big reason for the lower review is that I don't understand their service. The first time we went in (since the pandemic), we had a reservation so we were seated quickly, but the service was very slow... we figured it was an off night, so didn't think too much about it... until we went again yesterday. we didn't have a reservation, it was a wednesday evening, so we just didn't think about it and figured we would sit in the bar or wait if we needed to. We arrived around 5:30, and were told by the hostess that they didn't have any openings until 8, but we could look in the bar. okay, no problem.. until the evening progressed... we were there for almost 2 hours and the 10+ tables that were open in the main dining area when we got there remained open the entire time... we also noticed outdoor seating that wasn't offered to us. In a restaurant bar, I never really expect great service, it's a bar... but even with low expectations, it was pretty bad. If I'm going to spend $200 on a meal... I'd like to have at least a little attention paid to us... The kale caesar salad was near inedible - I LOVE anchovies, but literally that is all you could taste, there was no other flavor... we both kept trying to get every last bit out of our lemons to get some sort of flavor on the salad... neither of us ate very much of them, and the server never asked how they were. (heck, even pepper would have helped, but we weren't offered any) The steak was lovely, with broccolini, and the foraged mushrooms were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend that meal! So maybe we hit a bad couple of nights... but make sure you have a reservation, and don't expect the level of food and service that it was prior to the pandemic.... read more

One of my favorite local restaurants but this last visit, I was less than impressed. Potatoes in the Scallop chowder was not fully cooked, raw, and American Wagyu steak was not at all tender. The environmental ambience at the Cedarbrook Lodge is beautiful. Right next to SeaTac Airport, but feels like a PNW retreat. The Copperleaf is the hotel restaurant. Went for lunch. Had the baby greens, hazelnut, herb vinaigrette salad plus chicken. The chicken was DRY. Flavorful but DRY. Did I mention that it was DRY? I had to take sips of tea to get it down. Literally stuck. But, I was hungry so powered through and looked at it as a workout. It took effort . The greens were fresh and the vinaigrette was super tasty. I don't know why added protein is an afterthought. It should be done with as much care as the thing you are adding it to. Not a deal breaker but it was a technical disappointment. SeaTac the city doesn't have a lot of options and this is still a good one. The bar area was closed due to the early hour but looks very welcoming. I'll try again. This bistro is gorgeous and the food was wonderful! I was impressed by the bread, soup and salads. The service was strong at first and then decreased. I wonder if it was because they were closing soon. I wish the waiter had asked how our food was once we ate a little. I desperately needed some lemon for the soup. The menu for Easter Brunch was posted online on their website, but there were several items not offered from the menu.    They didn't serve the Smoked Grass Fed Brisket with spicy BBQ sauce nor did they have any items from their "handcrafted grazing table" which included "massive selections of cured meats and artisan cheese, selection of fresh and grilled vegetables and spreads, seasonal fruits, jams and inspired flat bread, focaccia and crackers.  There was no new potato salad, no mussels, and no Wild King Salmon. There was also no "donut wall" as was specified on the menu, there was however a plate of 7 donuts on the dessert table. This was our first time here and they had 2 places to sit.  One room was the dining room with nice seating, live piano and beautiful views of the property.  The other room was an auxiliary overflow room where the buffet actually was, with no views, no piano and it was uncomfortably quiet, with uncomfortable bamboo rental chairs.  The wait and kitchen staff, probably at least 7 employees, stood around and stared at the tables eating and we felt like we were being rushed.   My family felt as if we were employees eating in the cafeteria and the brunch seating for guests was actually in the dining room.   After I brought my concerns to the manager, Greg,  he didn't know why the items were missing from the menu and told me he had no idea where that menu even came from, but all the other items from the menu were being served and as I stated earlier, the Easter Brunch Menu for April 17th came from their website.  Weird.  He took 10% off the bill which in hindsight was almost more offensive after the experience we had.   This place is absolutely not worth the $80 per person.  Food that was actually served from the menu, was adequate but nothing to write home about, and the seating in the banquet room was unacceptable and felt cheap.   Also, no drinks are included except water and coffee. You can purchase a "drink ticket" for an additional $13 per drink and you can only have two. Spend your money at The Lobster Shop or even Saltys for holidays if you want a really nice brunch that will be worth every penny you pay.  DO NOT COME HERE!!! read more

Presentation is always great, creative and artsy but taste is a hit or miss depending on the dish...very salty though. I don't think I had more than a spoon full from Each course I simply didn't like it. Waiter was clearing my Dishes full every time without asking Why. Plan on being there for over 2 hours as you will wait for a very long time in between the 5 courses. While I appreciate the innovative approach in each dish next time I will head to the bar for steak and frites, hamburger or even better happy hour, will enjoy it more and will save 280$ read more

For some reason, I feel like this restaurant was kinda hidden in the top restaurants in WA. My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and the food was just wonderful. There is a corkage fee of $20 if the wine is not from WA. Otherwise it's free to bring your own WA wine. You also get a 20% off if you stay at the hotel Cedarbrook. Every dish was wonderful. Be extremely careful eating here! I told my server before the meal even started that I had an allergy, and ask her if she knew what options were available to me. She walked me through the menu, and explained the options to me. Thinking this person was knowledgeable I ordered my meal. After eating the appetizers of fries, I felt something was off, told her I thought the fried were not gluten free, she stated 3 times that they were, upon asking 1 more time she stated that they weren't! Thankfully I only had a couple, but what was most upsetting was she stated that "I thought it was a preference, not an allergy" and tried to gaslight me into saying that I didn't tell her it was an allergy. Anyway, ended up really sick and had to cancel my work trip. Really disappointed in the server. read more

Babbling brooks, warbling birds and thoughtful landscaping. You feel like you're on a getaway, even if you're a local like me. 2. The architecture and design is beautiful. True definition of a hidden gem! If you are staying close to the airport, Copperleaf is a must-try! I wish it wasn't raining so I could have taken photos outside, but of course the temperamental weather is part of Seattle's charm. Service was top notch, Hugo was our server. this place is a nice perk to have at the Cedarbrook lodge. a bit fancier than what i usually go for. all the food is very PNW (think locally foraged, locally hunted, line caught humanely raised etc. etc..). there are two areas, featuring a slightly more casual lounge section and the main restaurant seating in a vaulted ceiling area down the steps from the lobby. i have been here a few times and liked everything i tried. stuff tried: pea gazpacho amouse bouche: refreshing, nice pea flavor clam chowder: fancy presentation, broth added to seafood chunky bits at table side. nice and rich asparagus soup: same as the chowder with the asparagus broth added over steamed chopped asparagus at your table. some kind of crunchy granola adds nice crunchy texture crawfish fritters: i think i was expecting fried crawfish tails. these were more fritter-like, with crawfish meat mixed into it. still yummy foraged wild mushroom in broth with fried ricotta dumplings and smoked pork jowl: nice assortment of mushrooms, hen of the woods, morels, etc.. the ricotta dumplings were nice fried cod and chips: decent but not a stand out rendition of this. i really like the fancy sea salt and cracked black pepper at your table. the complimentary butter with sea salt on top with nice thyme spiked bread rolls were also really good. the menu in the main restaurant is seasonal so varies significantly so check on the website to see most current one. read more

In the time of COVID I am so thankful for "camp Copperleaf" who saved me on a recent business trip offering outdoor dining in the freezing January Weather. They seat you on the back patio with ample heaters and offer you a lap blanket! Divine! I ordered the ginger garlic sesame stir fry and prawns and the wild wheat thyme rolls. Twice, I've been here and they've been out of the menu item I wanted. Then the draft is empty of the best beer that they had. That's a managerial issue. Also, pertaining to the beer menu - cans are same price as draft $8 average. But, curiously some drafts are 12 oz pours for $8. Others are 16 oz for $12!! Yet another is $8 for 16 oz. Just no rational there. Who pours a 12 oz lager and charges more per ounce than an IPA? So, just know that you may not get what you want, you'll pay a premium for it. Finding a reasonably priced hotel during "cruise" season in this city is near impossible. And I always try my best to book lower priced hotels which keeps my expense account looking pretty. My last trip to Seattle was the worst, there was nothing even close in my price range and was forced to choose something near the airport. ugh Oh well, now since I am stuck off of International Boulevard and it's nearing dinner time my dining options are limited to chain restaurants and grease spoon dives. Though I thought.... I logged onto Yelp and after a quick search found Copperleaf. 4 1/2 stars? For reals? Nah, it can't be! Wait, it sure is! And reviewed by many trusted Yelpers! Copperleaf is located in main lobby of the Cederbrook Lodge. The grounds are beautiful and considering it's within a mile of the SEATAC runway strangely quiet. I arrived for an early to take advantage of their happy hour and found a seat at the bar. The bar menu is smaller and limited but there are enough food options for most. The Painted Hills grass fed burgers sure sounded good, but I went steak frites. The steak priced at $18.00 is served with a nice leafy salad and of course some very tasty French fries. The portion size is small but for $18 bucks what do you expect? It was certainly tasty and cooked to medium rare perfection. The drinks are excellent, my Bulliet rye sidecar was refreshing. The wine list offers up some of Washington state's finest. I tried a syrah by the glass that paired perfectly with my steak. Insane amount of bread, cheese, nuts and fruit for $6! 4 artisan cheeses including chèvre, blue, and pecorino. Candied walnuts, crostini, berries. Let's get some logistics out of the way. Apple maps will try and navigate you through a gated trailer park. It incorrectly assumes 36 Ave S cuts through this trailer park. You need to enter from the intersection of S 188 st and 36 Ave S. Otherwise you'll need to backtrack all the way around residential neighborhoods. Lots of focus on local ingredients. Phenomenal waitress, hostess, and staff. Appetizer: Parsnip creme soup. Outstanding with just a hint of sweetness. Definitely not low cal. Amuse bouche: Grilled pear garlic purée and lomo. Great pairing of flavors in one bite. Seared main scallops with Brussel sprouts celery root and foraged mushrooms. Amazing scallops but the mushrooms were meh. Fantastic upscale dining experience. Stayed at Cedarbrook Lodge this weekend and ate dinner at the restaurant. I was so excited to eat here because of all the good things I have heard, but I'm a little disappointed. The waitstaff were all amazing but when it came to the food, that's where it fell short. My husband and I ended up creating our own tasting menu if you will. We did their current type of scallops & pork belly for the apps. Halibut & rabbit for dinner. Then lastly, the rice pudding & chocolate bombe for dessert. What I really wanted for dessert was the Dutch baby pancake. It's the dish that beat Bobby Flay. Apparently they took it off their menu years ago. This makes no sense to me. Why remove it from the menu when the show is still relevant? Scallops- These were raw. While I am very aware they can be served raw, the menu nor the server made that clear. We were very unaware & I'm pregnant, so I couldn't have any. Pork belly- I love pork belly and typically get it everywhere we go when it's listed on the menu. This was the worst I have had, unfortunately. While I completely understand it is mainly fat with a thin layer of meat.. this piece was literally 99% fat and the fat was not 'melt in your mouth'. My husband nor I could eat it. The porridge that was served with it however was delicious! Halibut- the halibut was cooked well! It was a little dry but overall it was a nice dish compared to our apps. The Rabbit- comes with freshly made pasta which we appreciate. There was hardly any rabbit though, so that was disappointing. Rice pudding- we love rice pudding! This one I'm sad to say was disgusting. It was literally steamed white rice that was put in a bowl with a little bit of sauce. I was very confused and didn't eat it. The chocolate bombe- probably one I shouldn't have ordered. It was too rich for me and all peanut butter flavor. Not their fault on this one though! Presentation was beautiful. Overall, I don't know that I will be back or that I'll recommend the restaurant. The bar looks great (although I don't drink) so perhaps I would check that out along with their happy hour. The lodge itself is pretty great and I'll have a separate review for them. read more
