I like Copymat. In my opinion, it is one of the best print and copy places in Hollywood. You can get professionally done headshots, comp cards, photos for your portfolio etc. Good location and affordable prices. There is only one thing I wanna mention. Sometimes staff who works there is not willing to assist you. They are reluctant and you need to make a double effort to ask them do something for you. Other than that, make sure you know exactly what you want and can explain it, for example, size of your photos. You don't wanna make a mistake and waste your money. Cause, again, their staff doesn't want do delve into your projects or whatever that you may think important for you. Interior looks a little bit messy. But it's fine. The folks at Copymat treated me fantastically and did an amazing job on the canvas they printed out for me. I had an usual job, that they knocked out the park for me. I wanted 2'x7' sound panels that were 4" deep to be wrapped in canvas with my own are on them since I was sound proofing my place but didn't want giant black rectangles on my wall. Evan walked me through everything, and communicated with me throughout the process. It all came together better than I envision. They all look gorgeous in my place, and they look fantastic on camera when I'm filming. I needed flyers printed and they were able to print with a 4 hours wait time. I called in advance to get a quote since I stopped by staples and their machine was offline. I was quoted via-phone $.80 per sheet. It was a color print on a white card stock, so it cost a little more than basic printer paper. The total should of been $22 with tax but when I arrive it was $27 something? I assume they charged cutting which I looked at service fees they was listed $0.75 per 100. I parked at a meter and didn't care to inquire as other customers were present. So, I'd suggest to check your receipt for itemized charges because on the paper they gave me it didn't break down cost. It was a not major difference but the quote given should match what I was being charged for. read more

I asked for a photo to be slightly adjusted and they happily obliged. 100 copies only costed $93 (tax included) which is pretty good compares to places like Kinko's or Staples. Tried to charge me 15 bucks for set up when I only need one print. Disappointing based on that alone. 1 star because phone guy was friendly. Update: I pay 5 dollars at North Hollywood prints for set up, but if you get five or more it is free. Granted that's not with color correction, but I didn't need that just my name and border. Copymat just saved my bum. I'm an indie musician about to go tour the east coast and am making some limited edition EP tins for which I need stickers for the front. Was planning on using moo but discovered yesterday that although their biz cards are super fast, moo's stickers take about 2 weeks to arrive!! Arrggg! I've been going to Copymat for several years, as I prep for readings of my new scripts each year. Always a great experience. In the past, I would simply email my script for overnight printing. I'd pick it up the next day, no problem. This year, I happened to be walking past and decided to stop in and get my copies on the spot. I wasn't aware (nor did I ask) of a price difference per copied page -- from "same day" to "overnight". So once all was said and done (and the copies complete), I was then aware of the price difference. Of course, it was nothing monumental, but every penny counts, right? On site were Mark and Danny (both extremely understanding). I left with my copies and then decided to return to see about a possible refund of the price difference. Again, since I was caught unawares (by my own hand). Mark and Danny were unable to assist in the credit/refund, and suggested that I contact GM Bob. He was out of town at the time, so I sent an email explaining my past patronage, my issue with my own lack of knowledge -- and requested an adjustment. Just a couple of days later, I received a phone message from Bob, thanking me for my patronage and advising me that he would be happy to make the adjustment. I called in, provided my credit card # and a few days later, found the credit in my account. This experience is the definition of fantastic customer service. While it was my mistake for not confirming "same day" vs. "next day" pricing, Bob made the effort to fix my mistake. I've always had positive experiences at Copymat -- they're convenient, quick and friendly. But after the kindness from Mark, Danny and Bob -- I'll be a longtime customer and will tout their wares whenever anyone asks me for a copying recommendation. Placed an order based off of a quote I was given over the phone. Asked for the order to be double sided but received my prints single sided. In addition to that, the price charged was nearly 25 bucks more than the quote I was given over the phone, when that was brought up to the clerk upon payment, they just shrugged and in no way offered to honor the quote or give a discount closer. After all of the great reviews I was incredibly disappointed with the customer service. When I called to inquire as to why I received single sided prints, I was told to bring the entire order back in so that they could fix it. I didn't have enough time between the reading I was holding and the time it would take to print. I let them know that I had been planning on placing a similar order next week to see if they would issue me some kind of credit for their mistake and the overpriced job. I was told that they wouldn't unless I brought in the original invoice along with the print job. I asked to email it since I'm on the other side of town and they said I'd need to bring to them because they can't take a customers word for it. The clerk blamed the wrong quote on "a new guy they're breaking in" shouldn't take much breaking in to know how much they charge on their services. They never offered to honor the price. Upon further inspection, pages have creases or wrinkles which I also don't think is acceptable. I informed the guy that I'd find a printing place that honored the quote they gave and can fulfill a print order the way it was ordered. He just made a funny voice and said "okay." And hung up. The customer service was incredibly rude. Never once was there an apology issued or any attempt on the clerks part to be helpful. Which was a bummer as I was hoping this would be a place I could rely on for quality printing at a good price. The behavior of the staff and quality of the order proved me wrong. read more

That is understandable, BUT the mistake was because you couldn't take the time to help when I asked. BUT what REALLY upset me and pushed me to write the review was when another women came in while im dealing with this problem and said LITERALLY the exact same thing I ask when I walked in... she needs a headshot. The service she got was completely different then what I got. The man in the front (not the same man that helped me) asked her all the right questions and was extremely helpful to her ..."what size she wants, does she want the resume on the back, her name on the bottom " she was even out before me with the headshot! I asked the man in the front if it was protocol to ask this and be that helpful when someone ask for a headshot because I was not at all helped at that capacity and all of my prints look terrible. His response to me was.... "Im just a temp" . WTF!?!? Another employee was next to us listening to the whole conversation. So I turned to him and asked him why did I not got the same service the woman who just walked in got when we asked for the exact same thing. He would even take the time to listen to me or look at me when I was explaining how rude the man who was supposed to help me was and why did I get a difference service. He just looked at me from the corner of his eye like I was interrupting him and said "im sorry i was not listening to you" . I was standing a foot away from this guy looking directly at him when I was talking, also he was right next to me in the conversation I was having with the "temp" listening to everything. So NO ! You guys are extremely rude with a horrible staff (except the "Temp" who help the women with the head shot) unfortunately I got the rude older gentleman who would give me attitude and sarcastic remarks when I asked a simple question. You would think that when someone is in your store letting you know an issue they had with your service and how rudely they were just treated by a staff member that someone would take the opportunity to fix it or at least apologize . I seriously would have been happy with just an apology . And would never think to write a review. That is honestly why you now have this well deserved ONE star review. Everything had been doing well for more than 1 year but last time I ordered, the prints were completely wrong: a member of their team printed documents in the size of letter format (8.5 x 11 in) in the middle of Tabloid format paper (11 x 17 in) - it means there were huge white margins on each side, which doesn't make any sense. Mistakes have happened before and each time, the employees just redid the prints without asking for extra money. This time, the person in charge printed it again but charged me double price, which I noticed after I left. I sent an email and this same person refused to refund the wrong documents, asserting that it was my fault because my PDF document had an issue and that I should have checked it out on a computer. Not only was this PDF's format looking perfect on computer, but I had asked them for copies of the same document a few months ago and they had done it perfectly, which means that another crew member had been able to manage with it without any difficulty. Similar incidents are mentioned in other Yelp reviews: some customers are accused of wrongdoing and asked to pay for the printing mistakes done at the store. I mentioned this incident to someone who's been a customer for 20 years and is a personal friend of Bob, the owner, whom he said is a respectful person with much better values. This friend said he had never witnessed any incident of this kind in the past and that it seems things have changed recently. I'm now going to a different place where they genuinely care for customers - and so does this friend, as well as all my personal team and other people I know. Some employees there prefer to disrespect customers and stick to a few Dollars (only around 9 Dollars in my case) even though it means losing customers to competition. This incident was due to only one person and other crew members there are great, but if you don't want to take the risk of experiencing such disgraceful incidents, you should avoid this place. read more

Gosh..Ive gotten better customer service with offshore call centers speaking to me in broken English than this store. I brought a sample of the large order I needed. All I needed was an exact price. The man behind the counter told me to email the owner instead as he wasn't familiar with the pricing. It's understand if they were a non face to face business or a dot com business. However they are a BRICK AND MORTAR traditional business with a store front. In my opinion, I believe there is a lack of training in the personnel. However the owner is responsible for the person behind the counter as the owners responsibility is to make sure operations are functional. I took my order to the Staples store across the street. I got an exact price with no surprise or bull. That is the exact way a professional or functional business operates. read more

I had someone design a business card for me and brought it to Copymat to get it printed after reading the positive reviews here. I really hate to write a negative review because the people at Copymat are certainly kind and helpful (hence two stars)... However, I am very unhappy with the product. The first batch of business cards had about 50 usable cards out of 500. The rest were off-center and crooked. The re-run had about 200 usable cards, the remaining of which were less off-centered and crooked than the first batch, but imperfect nonetheless. So, at this point I have 250 usable business cards (half of what I paid for), and rather than pressing the matter with Copymat I will simply take my business elsewhere if I need more printed. It pains me because I otherwise love to support local business. Maybe business cards just aren't their thing. read more

At 8:30 p.m. Monday night we rushed to Kinko's/FedEx where they'd print them but we had to supply the cardstock. wtf! like we carry spare Avery 4560's in our purse. Rushed over to Staples where they carried the cartstock but no printing becuase they were about to close. Panic. Panic. Raced across the street to Copymat and heard the saving words of "print cards in twenty minutes?? no problem!" These guys rock! Robert drafted several versions for us to choose from in seconds. I asked the price for a set of prints. I gave the clerk my usb drive and the prints were made. Once the time came for payment, the clerk says that there would be a 5.00 dollar charge for having taken my USB drive and printed from the store computer. I wasn't given the option of doing the prints myself. The clerk gave no forewarning of his service fee. The clerk was dishonest. This amounts to what's called a "bait and switch".
