I am new to this area and I had a couple of things that need to be done on my car. I visited Corb's solely based on the reviews online but boy.. Jon and Al are the most friendly and honest mechanics I have ever encountered in a very long time. Not only were they super courteous upon visit but they also provided the right service in a professional fashion. They explained the problem thoroughly in an easy way for me to understand and they suggested the best treatment options even if the job would need to get done elsewhere. This review is based solely on customer service as I haven't visited the shop yet. I called this morning to get an estimate on something and the guy that answered took the time to understand why I'm looking into this service and made a suggestion that is cheaper but would better diagnose the problem instead of paying for something I might not need. After calling around for about an hour I came across this shop and am so happy I did. Just through the phone Jon was pleasant and helpful off the bat. I usually don't leave reviews off of just phone calls but in this case I felt the need. Guided me towards the right direction didn't care if I brought the car in or not seemed like he genuinely just wanted to help. After seeing the great reviews around the internet, I decided to take my Acura TSX into Corb's Auto Repair this morning. I have just returned home with my car after what has been, simply put, the best experience I have ever had dealing with an auto shop. Al Corb was superb in dealing with me. He communicated everything to me very effectively, actively sought out to not charge me for unnecessary work, and personally took it upon himself to drive around with my car when I was having problems accurately describing the nature of my issue. You can tell after two minutes of talking to him that he is very big on honesty, integrity, and self-accountability. I was treated with respect and kindness from all the staff I interacted with. Quite frankly, I am blown away and will be taking my cars back here for anything and everything for as long as I am living in the Houston area, as well as recommending this shop to everyone I know. Vehicle repaired at other places but used Corb's for the first time a week or so ago on the recommendation of a friend...what an absolute professional establishment. Friendly & very knowledgeable staff. Not only do they speak to you while your vehicle is undergoing repairs, they contact you after a day or so to hear feed-back & check on the vehicle. Having relocated from Buffalo NY to Cypress, TX, I relied on word of mouth for this auto repair. Very professional, extremely courteous, very knowledgeable, I am now so confident in their work and advice! They are honest people with a very good reputation. They take their time explaining things as well as your options. Wonderfully refreshing! The waiting area is very clean. This is a family run business and they are GREAT. They found a problem with my tire that I didn't know I had! Although they couldn't fix it themselves, they located the part, gave me directions and all was taken care of!! I had been to Corb's before and had the work done correctly. Like I would expect from any mechanic. However this time was a lot different, I was first told I need 2 motor mounts cost around $700. Then after I dropped my car off I got a call saying it was going to cost closer to $900 they had left off 1 of the motor mounts. Ok and I ask them will they have the MDX done by Friday EOD yes i was told. Friday afternoon come I call them and they tell me that it was more than they thought, parts came late , blah, blah but they are doing their best. I explain I need my vehicle and can they work a Saturday to finish this up. NO was their answer their solution was to finish where they were and button it back up and have me bring it back to them to finish. I talked with the father about renting a vehicle to use over the weekend. He said yes that's a good idea I just needed to go get one at a rental place of this choosing and tell them too give me Corb's special pricing. We can square up on Monday when I pick the vehicle up. So that's what I did but Corb's (Jon) didn't want to pay me for the full cost of the rental $342.50. Instead he said his Dad told me to get a rental that was $30 day. The father may have thought he said that but he never did. So they gave me $69 for each of the 3 days which totaled to $207 and took that off my $895.81 bill. So that leaves me with a mechanic bill of $688.81 plus a rental of $342.50 for a total of $1031.31 and they told me I was not being reasonable!!! To top it off Jon ask be if I wanted to talk to his dad about it. We are adults not kids if Jon wants to run a business them he needs to step to the plate. I knew when I talked to Jon he was now going to square up with me. All he wanted to say I was unreasonable, his dad told me to rent a $30 a day ride and when I mentioned another employee heard the conversation (James) he said that he backed his dad (of course he would). I have ran business and there are times you have to eat it when you make a mistake. read more

Honest review of my nightmare at Corbs. New to the area I went to Corbs on a referral from a co-worker. His words to me were "they are more expensive than most mechanic shops but you paying for their expertise and customer service". Fair enough why not.. I wasted so much money I had to write a review to warn others. I happened to goto Corbs during a transition of father leaving the ropes to his son. John was very courteous and was easy to communicate with. However once I went to pickup my vehicle, the only thing John could talk about was how old my vehicle was. He did not once go over the work done and or future possible maintenance to be needed. In the end I spent upwards of 2k for my front end to be rebuilt to new. First off the vehicle could take a freeway curve with no hands on the wheel. I should have taken it back then. Instead I blamed other variables. Took my vehicle to another shop for a second opinion and low and behold the upper control arms where not tightened down and my entire front end was shifting every time I would stop and take off. The second opinion mechanic advised me I was putting my family, myself and other drivers on the road in danger with this vehicle driving in this condition. Beware of the "friendly" bull, I want good mechanical work not some facade of friendliness. I never called John Corbs back to let him know about this issue as I was to upset after being raked over the coals. Even with a full refund and apology I do not think it would be enough. read more
