In 90 days my body has changed in noticeable ways, and I'm definitely getting stronger. I've never stayed this committed to a workout regimen this long, and that's 100% because of how amazing this gym is. I've never once been intimidated, made to feel inferior, or pressured into doing a movement that might cause an injury. In my experience at The MVMT Lab: Every movement is modifiable. Every workout is achievable wherever you are in your fitness journey. The culture is inclusive, diverse, and wonderfully positive. We had a great chat and made sure to answer all of my questions fully and didn't make me feel rushed at all. My free intro class was coached by Chloe. She was very welcoming and so were the other members. Chloe did (and always does) a great job teaching each movement and proving effective cues all while keeping a fun and upbeat vibe! My husband and I have been members for 2 years now and it's safe to say it was the best decision we could have made. Not only did we find a great, safe, and fun place to workout, we have met some of our best friends which has made Denton feel like home faster than we could have ever expected. Jason and Molly have since moved the gym to a bigger and better location and as a member I feel super spoiled every time I walk in. The equipment is well maintained and there is plenty of space to workout without bumping into fellow athletes. They have adjusted SO well to accommodating new safety standards due to COVID-19. Each athlete is able to workout in a designated area safely spaced from others. They also added several new programs that can be done at home for those who still do not feel safe. Jason and Molly are constantly evaluating how they can add more value to their members and take feedback to heart. Marci was absolutely incredible and extremely attentive to my needs as an endurance athlete with tight hamstrings. The Yin part of the class was my fave and so relaxing with 'legs up the wall' and some good hip opener stretches. The studio is peaceful, clean and beautifully decorated. Marci had really great music as well to go along with class. I can't wait to come back, this is going to be my go to studio from now on! All of the instructors are great about letting you know and coming around if needed. I have been going now for a few years on and off. My mother suffers from PTSD so when she called to tell them that she no longer had an income to pay for her membership, firstly, it took over a week for her to actually get someone on the phone after asking to be called back. Only for them to tell her that she, MY ELDERLY MOTHER, would need to come IN PERSON to cancel her membership!! When she informed me of how panicked she felt having to do this after over a week of already trying to cancel, I decided to give them a call. They were extremely unpleasant to speak to and adamant that MY ELDERLY MOTHER, riddled with panic over this situation, would still have to come in person to cancel. After hanging up the phone, I informed my mother to call her bank and block payments, i will add, this was after multiple attempts by Hotworx of trying to charge her card after she had begged them not to. MY ELDERLY MOTHER, BEGGED them not to charge her card. Today, writing this review, it is months later at this point and my mother is still being harassed by this company. They finally JUST canceled her membership after letting her know that it is not due to 'Lack of Payment', but "due to violation of MEMBER RULES, NOTICES, DISCLOSURES & LIABILITY STATEMENTS. So this particular yoga studio has been on my radar for a while now since it is featured on Class…read morePass. Finally I had time yesterday after work to check out a Yin restorative class! Kim was the instructor and it was a full 60 minutes of pure yoga bliss. They provide all of the yoga swag for you too which is awesome! Their mats are super sturdy and easy to clean, I love having that as an option on days when I don't carry my own mat around in the car. Something here also that they provide which is fairly unique (not all studios have) are the aerial yoga SILKS! This was kind of a nice surprise to me as I did not realize we were going to be using the silks during the restorative session. You have the option to not use the silks as well. I really enjoy Yin style of yoga as it forces me to relax and stretch, two things I am getting better at doing! Kim was very laid back and made the session fun. At the end we did a savasana / rest in the silks which was absolutely divine. You get to swing in the silks too during the meditation part of the class. Overall this was probably one of the best if not THE BEST Yin that I've ever been to! It really set the tone for the rest of my evening and I woke up feeling so refreshed. Cannot wait to go back.
