I want to give this place five stars, but there are a few things that have happened that unfortunately make me bring the rating down one star. I've been a member for a few months and I've been meaning to write a review for a while, but I'm finally doing it now because of what happened tonight. I was looking forward to one of favorite classes all day and dragged my butt over there only to find the door locked and the class cancelled. This is the second time this has happened where a class has been cancelled and I unknowingly showed up (yes, I'm sure there's a website and an app to tell me, but I'm not checking it everyday and I'm going off of the printed schedule that they provide), and it gets a little frustrating, as these cancellations seems to happen a little too frequently. On a positive note, I've liked all the teachers and the classes are great. The heater is hit or miss - sometimes it's really hot, sometimes its not. The studio, locker and bathroom areas are clean, and the classes are not too crowded UNLESS you're going to the 5:15 and 6:30 classes. Now I know these are the classes that most people will find convenient for their schedules, but the few times I have been, I always vow to never go back during these times. They are so crowded and your arms and legs are in other people's faces and vice versa. In addition, it is generally good etiquette to wipe down your area of sweat and other things after a class, ESPECIALLY after a hot yoga class, but most times people do not. So many times when I go in after hot yoga classes, there are pools of sweat or other foreign liquids on the floor and it is really gross. It's particularly gross after crowded classes because there is nowhere you can put your mat down without laying in someone's sweat puddle. I have seen CPY staff wiping the floors after classes on occasion, but it is really inconsistent and I wish they would make it a habit to do it after every class. Also, they use foam blocks and pilates rings for a few of their classes and people's feet and bodies are all up on them. Yesterday when I had my face squished up against one of the foam blocks I caught a whiff of a dank, musty odor and couldn't help but wonder if and when these things are cleaned. Overall, I like this place a lot and have been a loyal member. It's just the few things that happen from time to time that remind me that there are areas that this studio could improve on. read more

This is more like a gym to me than a yoga studio. When I got there there wasn't any attempt at customer service. I had to figure out for myself how to get checked in. Thank goodness I had a friend meet me there that had been there two other times so he could walk me through the process. The woman behind the desk didn't acknowledge me whatsoever she just continued complaining about her life to one of the students. Maybe it's just me but I feel as though a yoga studio should be filled with positive energy and peace. As the prior class came out, the woman behind the desk made her way in to open the door and then spray the room with a room deodorizer. Again, maybe it's just me but, yoga is about the breath and it's one thing to ventilate the room by opening doors but, to spray harsh chemicals in a space where people are deepening and connecting to the breath is ridiculous. The teacher who happened to be the same woman complaining was sick and couching everywhere, blowing her nose and touching everything. There was Muriel's people in the class who shared a same sickness as her. In my opinion the lack of ventilation in this place seems to be the cause. The only ventilation is a door opened to the busy street of Crenshaw. Between that, the heat, the sweat, and people coming in already sick made the room feel damp. There was a two minute Shavasana. It was strange that lullabies were played the whole class. I will not be coming here ever again. read more

Nice, clean place and super nice people, but I would say this is probably for the younger crowd. I am 51, in good shape and have gone to yoga classes faithfully for 4 years, but I was just not real comfortable here. read more

This is an old CPY, but it did the trick. I was in town, and maybe have just been spoiled by our new studios down in OC, and needed a to kill some time... so I popped in for an 8AM HPF. This studio only has one room -- simple. Simple is good. However, you could tell the floors were old (that sticky feeling) but it's all good... focus on the practice right? The great thing was their heater! That SURE worked PERFECTLY! Teacher was good, no hands on adjustments or love though... All in all, it did the trick. But it's not my fav CPY. read more

I was super hesitant to come today, considering I had never done yoga in my life. But our instructor Tracy was so wonderful, she made all my anxieties about it go away. She is smart, witty, funny, and most importantly knows her yoga! She kept the room relaxing yet fun, and you get a killer workout at the end. The place itself is easy to find, tons of free parking, and the inside is very clean and spacious. I had a wonderful first time experience. Highly recommend! read more

I've recently been coming here for their free boot camp work outs that I've been invited to by my friend that's a regular member. It's the best. For their boot camp classes there's multiple short circuit work outs with and without weights. The instructors are motivating and also helpful if your posture or form isn't correct to help you get the best out of your workout. Some days like last week they have the heating on, and you can definitely feel those extra degrees as you're drenched in sweat after one routine. It's fun and feels good and will having feeling sore the next couple days in a good way. read more

This is my favorite corepower studio that I've visited! The instructors are all extremely generous, kind and inviting. Whether its checking out a new studio, trying a new yoga style, wanting to learn about yoga with no prior knowledge, or simply having a rough day, the instructors are all so welcoming for every need that its really hard to find any reason to hate this place. read more

I started to go here when they. First opened this location and fell in love with yoga. It's clean and so motivating. But the reason I decided to write this review and take away a star is because I believe they have done a disservice. They have discontinued there weekly free class and no longer offer student discount. I'm sure many like me depended on those free classes to get the workout they need. As a struggling student, $20 a class is just too much. I fell like the reviews fail to acknowledge the steep pricing of classes and memberships. I bought a groupon deal for this place once and that helped. But they are not offered often. I do love this place and wish I could afford the membership. But there recent changes are keeping me and many long time core power yogis away. read more

I love CPY and have been a black tag member for almost 3 years. I love that the studio offers a variety of classes: hot yoga, power yoga and a hybrid yoga p90x style class called yoga sculpt....my absolute favorite! Love sculpt because it helps take your fitness level up without having to leave the yoga studio and head to the gym. Love that the classes are heated, the studio is clean and nice and I enjoy listening to music during class. The best teachers for sculpt in my opinion right now are Andrea L and Monica. Loved Leticia's sculpt class but now she seems to be teaching other styles instead:(. Andrea L is great- her classes are always challenging and she brings a unique style. Maybe she also has a fitness background??? I wish Andrea taught more classes there...come on CPY....add more Andrea sculpts! Shout out to Monica too for being challenging and fun! Thanks ladies for all you bring to the studio:) I have practiced at San Diego and Wilshire locations and generally speaking, both of those tend to have more challenging sculpt classes. Another reason why I want to emphasize Andrea and Monica's importance to students like me looking for challenge! Quick reminder to my fellow students- shhh in the yoga room:). Run away from this place, more problems than I could mention because if I speak the truth my review will just get taken off.

I have never before been a yoga fan, I come from a dance background and I usually find it too slow or not challenging enough, but CorePower is wonderful! They have different levels so finding a challenging class is never a problem! The teachers feel just like old friends even when you are brand new :) I have been going for a few months now and I am really enjoying it! My favourite teachers are Erica, Tracy and D'Andre. I love this hot yoga studio! The staff is very friendly and the place is very clean and brand new. The yoga itself is a good hot work out & you will sweat! This studio is wonderfully hot. With the heat it is also kept super clean. The instructors are wonderful. I wish there were more C2 and even C3 classes, however I am most satisfied with what is currently offered. The music is always a huge motivator and compliments yoga nicely. The new Core Power studio in Redondo/Lawndale is brand new. It is beautiful with great instructors as well and look forward to attending classes there as well. Namaste read more

This place is my zen right after work and on the weekends. Place is pretty clean, good classes although I wish their hot power fusion is at 515 instead of 4. Pretty pricey but I think it's worth it because I've always came out feeling so much better physically and mentally. read more

CorePower is the new love of my life. I always have been very stiff my whole life and I knew I could benefit from yoga and my expectations were exceeded. It's not only beneficial for your physically but emotionally and mentally. Life gets crazy and hectic and this is some place you can come and get a crazy good work out or find an hour of peace. There are classes for all levels and between the Redondo and Torrance location you can find a class that will fit you and your schedule everyday. All of the instructors are wonderful but I would like to highlight some that have very helpful and special to me along the way. Went there for my first time today and was a little hesitant about doing the heated yoga but decided to give it a try. So glad I did because it was amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the studio is beautiful. They have classes for all different levels so you can start off where you feel comfortable and work your way up at your own pace. My friend told me about the FREE WEEK the studio always offers. It was so easy, I literally just walked in and and used a yoga mat and towel for free. I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous at first because I thought I would not be a fan of the hot room, but I quickly grew to love it. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I LOVE LOVE LOVE CorePower Yoga! All of the instructors are awesome! I love practicing here and I feel like I can go to almost any class and be good. There is nothing quite like Corepower Yoga for me. I have never been a fan of exercise and working out, but since trying Corepower I have been addicted to getting in shape and getting my body right. Everyone could benefit from trying this extreme but fun version of yoga. My favorite class, that was just recently added, is the yoga-pilates class. After this class my abs are sore for a week. I also love going to Lisa's classes, she works you hard but has this way of making you feel like your a child in a big yoga world for the hour she has with you. Thought I should update my review since many of the teachers I listed are no longer at Corepower. With that said - there still are some GREAT ones if you look for them. You can never ever have a bad class with Erica. She will always challenge you and make you smile. Lisa (from Torrance), Amanda, and Jessica are also really good!! There are some AWESOME new teachers as well that deserve a shout-out. Today, I took the single best class I have ever had at this studio with Marie. I would give anything for her to be on the schedule more. Her dialogue and attention to detail and the elements was right on point!!!! The class was like a slice of heaven. She was subbing for Toni - who is another one of my all-time FAVORITES!!! And then Lisa (from Redondo Beach) is a fabulous addition to afternoon sculpt.If you look for these teachers, you can never go wrong. :) read more

first, Tracy is the best teacher !! she is so good !!! :) I think this is a great yoga studio, my mother, my boss and myself all come here, and we all like it. I would give 5 stars if they clean the classroom after each session, sometimes they don't clean and the floor has wet spots from the previous class. but I would still continue to come here :) I just wish they will start cleaning more :) read more

As a personal trainer I can say I've tried many different types of exercise & various classes. I've taken yoga classes in the past & can say that I've never been too invovled in it nor truly understood the meaning of it. After trying out classes at Core Power for a week, I can tell you with certainty that I am in love! The teachers are so skilled & knowledgeable, the employees are helpful & extremely nice & the studio is beautiful. Left my manduka pro mat here and someone took it. The people here aren't as honest obviously. Locker room is covered with ants. I only go to this studio because it's right by my work. The Huntington Beach studio is a lot cleaner but too many people go there so the classes are too full. Considering canceling my black tag membership now. read more

This place is fine but it does seem a bit corporate. They push the teacher training ALL THE TIME. There has been a big shift lately in management and teachers and I can't say I like the changes. I am still on the fence about it. Most of the instructors are great but I find it weird some of them are here on yelp posting reviews. Overall, I go here to sweat and practice but I am not sold on it forever. The schedule could be switched up a bit -- it has been the same blocks of time and class lineup forever. It's a small studio so I prefer the Lawndale location (it's not Redondo, btw, it is Lawndale!) The floors could be cleaner. Okay, those are my thoughts. Some pros and some cons. read more

I really like this place, have been going since they opened. I bounce between here and Hot Yoga Redondo. This place is VERY clean and they work hard to keep it that way. I really like their retail space. Sophia & Vivien are great gals here. The classes are really good and not easy (which I prefer). I've been sticking to their HPF class since it resembles Bikram.
