I heard about this place from Pattie Jackson. I came over the bridge and ordered two rib platters to go. The ribs tasted old and smothered in cheap sauce. I assumed they were cooked on the grill but I'm certain they were cooked in the oven. The sides were nothing to brag about and the slice of pineapple upside down cake wasn't good. I used to come here all the time when I lived in Camden but haven't been in awhile. The staff is always courteous and nice. We ordered chicken and fish platters to go. The potato salad was ok. The greens and string beans were good. The cornbread was excellent. The Mac and cheese wasn't as good as it use to be. It seemed as the noodles were overcooked and it didn't have a cheesy taste to it. Now as far as the meats, the chicken breast was really dry and tasted old. The fish was very light in color with no seasoning. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe different cooks or maybe I have been exposed to better throughout the years and my expectations are reasonably higher. Either way, I will chalk it up as a $30 so-so experience. read more

In fact, her greens have NO MEAT in them. Yet they are DELICIOUS! If you're looking for fried chicken, second to none. On Saturday; 11/21/20 I went to Corinne's Place at Haddon Ave. in Camden NJ to order a Thanksgiving Dinner for 12 with Marsha, since I could not get through on the phone. I gave them a $100.00 deposit & she gave me an appointment on Wednesday; 11/25/20 @ 4:00pm to pick up the dinner. She advised me to call 1 hour before I arrived. I tried calling from 2:59pm - 3:14pm, but their phones were off the hook, so I went down to Corinne's Place & arrived at 3:45pm to find approximately 50-60 people that were also waiting for their dinners & I was advised that it was not ready & that they would call me when it was ready. A male employee took my name & phone number; writing them down on a paper bag. He stated that he would call me when it was ready. Instead he was yelling out of the door whenever an order was ready! As I was waiting, I noticed that there was no order to the way that the orders were being picked up. People that had appointments at 4:30pm - 7:00pm were picking up their orders and there were people that had appointments from 1:00pm - 4:00pm that had not picked up their orders. In addition, I noticed that friends of their's & fellow church members of theirs who hadn't been waiting were picking up their orders without any wait time. At approximately 9:00pm, Corinne's daughter came out & stated that they were working as fast as they could & started a New Appointment List. At approximately 9:30pm a male employee came out to advise that they had run out of turkeys & that we should come back on Thanksgiving between 8:00am - 11:00am to pick up our orders. I advised him that I lived a 1/2 hour away & he stated that he would deliver the order between 8:00am - 11:00am on Thanksgiving Day. He advised me that he would call to get the balance due for the Order on Thanksgiving morning. On Thanksgiving Day they never showed up & never called. I tried calling numerous times, but their phones were off the hook! They have not refunded my deposit. They have never apologized for their behavior & this woman claims to be a Christian. More like a fraudulent con woman! My advice is to never frequent this establishment, because all that they care about is money. They have no respect fir their customers & don't seem to care that they ruined numerous families Thanksgivings! read more

I ordered the smothered chicken , and I rated it a 3 because there' was entirely too much Salt . As a black community we know there is high blood pressure in our history, so please cut back n that Salt in your food preparation . On Thursday, April 7th I went to Corinne's Place with a friend for lunch around 11:30 am. We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant by two different employees. We were told we could take a seat wherever we'd like. The décor in Corinne's was so cute! It felt like it was set up for a family Easter get-together! It made you feel at home. When we sat down, we looked over the menu and everything sounded amazing! I went with the fried chicken breast, baked mac & cheese, and potato salad. My friend went with the fried tilapia, mac & cheese, and rice. The food came out very timely. Our server checked on us every so often as well. The food was amazing and the portions were big, we couldn't even eat it all! Pros: Big portion sizes and great service! Cons: I did not experience any cons! OMG come here on a Sunday for lunch!!! we were so lucky cuz we got there right at 1:30 which is when they open. There was a small line forming outside and as soon as the doors opened for business, we all swarmed in. Inside laided the most beautiful feast! It's either take out or a buffet for only $15. Most people were getting take out but we decided to eat there. We got amazing rice and beans, mac & cheese, delicious potato salad, bbq turkey wings, bbq beef ribs, fried catfish, yam, collard greens, and the most amazingly juicy, crispy fried chicken! I think I ate at least 3 pounds of food and it was all SOOOO delicious! Also I had the best slice of sweet potato pie EVERRRRRR. I definitely understand why people get their food to go. Just purchased some platters two days ago. This place is over rated. Both the collard greens and string beans were way too sweet and not savory at all like how greens are supposed to taste and both had so much sugar that it could send someone straight into a diabetic coma. We had to throw them both in the trash. The potato salad was spoiled and sour and the potatoes were so under cooked, they almost tasted raw. We had to throw it out. The cornbread was dry, stale and was crumbling to sand every time we touch it. We had to throw it out. The fish was mediocre but edible. The macaroni was just ok and tasted like there was no sharp cheddar added. The peach cobbler was horrible, very watery, the peaches were tart not sweat, the very little crust that was, was very soggy and slimy. We had to throw it out. The only thing that was good was the yams. I don't know how the place has good reviews or maybe they were just having a bad day or maybe most people just don't know really good food. On Saturday, April 4, 2015, my wife and I hosted an event at my house in Sicklerville, NJ. I was unable to cook due to a funeral I attended. Corrinne's was recommended as an option to cater about 200 people. I have never eaten here but heard of this place through a few friends who stated the food was very good. The food was delivered on time and hot. The beef ribs, candy yams, potato salad, collard greens, etc was some of the best soul food I have eaten. My guest, wife and I was so amazed of the quality of food. It tasted like someone took the time to prepared the food with LOVE and PASSION. This is what soul food is all about. first, i saw this place on yelp... then it came up in a comment on facebook for good soul food restaurants in south jersey so i knew i just needed to try it out. and baby let me tell you something, i'm glad i did. i had been struggling to find good food in south jersey since i recently relocated from north jersey. one of my friends came to visit and i suggested we go here since i saw on yelp they were doing indoor dining. we arrive and there is a line outside and we weren't sure what the line was for but we opted to just order our food through yelp to go. we ordered 1 bbq chicken platter with macaroni and cheese and collard greens and 1 fried chicken platter with the same sides and an additional side of candied yams. both platters came with cornbread. it took about 30 minutes for the order to be done. the like outside was actually for people waiting to go inside and sit down to eat. that alone was an indication that the food must be good if people are willing to stand outside in line just to get inside. i drove another 20 minutes back home and the food was still hot when we arrived. everything about it was amazing. from the bbq sauce on the chicken, to the fact that the chicken was falling off the bone, to the collard greens not being overly tart or tangy, to the macaroni and cheese with just the right amount of cheese. the cornbread was decent. next time i'm going to add a little butter to it and see how i like it. overall i enjoyed my entire meal and i will definitely be taking a trip back. read more
