I absolutely love supporting minority owned businesses and being from Prince George's County, it's even sweeter when the business is in my beloved home town! Located on the ground floor of an old school Suitland office midrise building, Cori's is yet another quality restaurant added to a revitalized area. Cori's has a very nice sized dining area and a cool separate bar scene where you can catch your favorite game! My first time out, I chose to kick it at the bar. It was lunch time and the staff seemed a bit disoriented, however, they were quite pleasant. After browsing the menu and recognizing I wasn't super hungry, I went for the fish nuggets and the jumbo Sambal shrimp. Both were excellent and are must haves! The lamb chops looked amazing but seemed to be a bit overpriced for an appetizer @ $30. I will definitely return when I have more of an appetite because there were so many items on the menu I'm dying to try! This was my first visit to Cori's Kitchen, which was recommended by a fellow Yelper. Our reservation was at 12 PM and when we arrived, we were the only customers in the restaurant. Eventually other customers arrived, but there was never more than maybe three or four tables for the duration of our visit. Despite emptiness, the service was pretty slow. It took 40 minutes for our wings to arrive and an hour for the crab dip and entrees. It would've been a shame for our food to take that long to arrive and not be good. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. Every dish was on point. The grilled lemon pepper wings are a must have. It's my favorite type of wing and most restaurants served them fried, but grilled is my favorite way to have it. The wings are well seasoned, and the meat comes easily off the bone. The wings are so good you really don't need the dressing, but I'm the type of girl that never passes up a dipping sauce. By the way, it comes with ranch dressing instead of blue cheese. The crab dip was rich and creamy, and topped with big lumps of crab meat. The crispy bread chips were slightly crispy but mostly soft, which I prefer over a harder, crispy bread. The catfish sandwich was perfection. It was fried just right, well seasoned, and an ample portion of catfish. The fish was so large that it completely covered bottom bun. I probably could've cut it in half and made a second sandwich. My mom was kind enough to let me try her salmon pasta; that's what I'll be ordering the next time. That salmon was seasoned on every side and cooked it just right. Everything about this dish was good. I'll start with the pro : the lemon pepper wings were absolutely delicious! They were hot, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. The cons: We arrived just after 2 pm on a week day, so the place was practically empty besides a big group of 10. We were told that it would take about 10 minutes to seat us, because the bartender was alone taking care of the group. We said we would sit at a table and wait there instead of standing at the door for 10 minutes. No problem. We weren't acknowledged again for almost 20 minutes when someome (who wasn't our server) came to take our order to help out. It was close to 3pm (happy hour) by then, so we ordered wings, but decided to wait to place the happy hour orders. At 3pm, the bartender came to take our order. We got 2 margaritas ,spinach dip, and crab dip. The drinks came out first , but the dips didn't come out until 3:40 (after we asked someone to check). The spinach dip was oily and tasted like just plain spinach mixed with plain artichokes. It wasn't good at all. The crab dip had some crab pieces on top, but tasted like mainly sour cream. We were given "bread chips" to dip with, and some were crunchy, while some were soggy. We weren't fans of the margaritas either. Nobody came to check on us at all until we got someone's attention to bring us the check. I visited Cori's on a Monday evening. The decor was really nice. It was chic, modern and had a good esthetic for a date, girls night, boys nights, etc. I would have given this place a five star however they refused us drinks and we couldn't sit at the bar. We also had to order to go because they had only one server. I was annoyed because we noticed people were already at the bar and we saw the bartender serve someone drinks while we waited about 25 minutes for our to go order. We were okay with being refused seating because of low staff but watching other staff serve as bartenders was absurd. We could of sat at bar and waited for our for, but we just stood at door. I will say the food was very good once I started eating after we left. I had the spicy Cajun salmon pasta, cornbread, and a side if sautéed kale. I enjoyed everything. The servings were very fair. Especially the cornbread. It was huge and we definitely had it for about two days. It was like a mini birthday cake. Haha. Been eyeing this place since a friend put it on my radar -- and so I decided to take advantage of their extended happy hour on Tuesdays! Normally, HH is until 6:00, but it's until closing on Tuesdays, which is 9:00 PM. It's off the beaten path a bit... in an area of office buildings and it happens to be randomly located at the bottom of one. So I parked and stepped in to meet my friends who were waiting at a high table. The menu can be accessed from a QR code on a sheet that also has their social media handles. I was there for a good 10 minutes before our server came back to the table -- according to my friends, he was checking in every few minutes just before I came... what luck! But when he finally did, I ordered drinks and food. I got the catfish nuggets and tuna flatbread -- which looked more like tacos, but both were absolutely delicious! The remoulade with the nuggets was addictive, and my friends were raving about their food too so I had to try. My friend's fried green tomatoes were tasty, but the star was the goat cheese fondue... WHOA! Yeah, I could just eat that by itself, my gosh. For drinks, I had a margarita and the Tropical Storm Cori, which had ginger beer and other things in it... they make great drinks! Cori's Modern Kitchen has been on my list of places to try for at least a year or so. Today, I finally had the opportunity to swing over to Camp Springs to check them out. When first entering Cori's, the hostess was warm and welcoming. She led us to our seats and our server Endia was quick to greet us and take our orders. I ordered the Creole Sausage Omelette; it comes with a side of breakfast potatoes. My best friend that was dining with me got the Crab Cake Benedict. We had conversation of course and didn't wait too long before our food arrived. My omelette was very flavorful with the spicy Ground Sausage and the Andouille Sausage giving most of the flavor. However, I asked for my omelette without the peppers and onions and they were added in. Also, there was a very small amount of cheese inside the omelette and my omelette was hardly lukewarm. I was so hungry and the flavor was on point. So, I just ignored that it was kinda cold and ate it anyway. Lol I'd give the omelette a 7 out of 10, but I suspect that if it had just a touch more cheese and was at least warm, I would have given it an 8.5 out of 10. My friend said she really enjoyed her Crab Cake Benedict. She liked that the Crab Cakes had hardly any filler in them and they weren't over or undercooked. She also loved that the potatoes were nice and crispy/browned, perfectly cooked. We also ordered the Cornbread Skillet late in the game after seeing another table get it. Glad we did get it, it was good! Moist with pieces of corn within it. The butter was good too. Real butter, none of that margarine stuff. Endia, our server, was great! She was very attentive the whole time and we even met one of the managers who was very friendly and personable. Overall, I give Cori's a 9 out of 10 (4 out of 5 stars). I will definitely be back. I was in search of a crab cake and a stumbled upon Cori's. I ordered online. I received a text when my order was ready. The entire meal came to $33.00. My crab cake was lukewarm and I was shocked at the size of the side salad. The salad dressing was amazing. I can tell it was homemade. This restaurant is off to a great start!! My friend and I were running late for our brunch reservation due to the insane beltway traffic, but I called a head of time to let the restaurant know we're still on our way, and they stated that they were still able to accommodate us...fantastic!! When I arrived, the outside of the building is very unassuming, and had me worried that my friend was going to flip out once she arrived to the place-she's not from PG County btw :). However, once you step inside, this place is very nicely decorated with a grey palette, gold metallic accents, and plenty of other neutral colors and clean lines. It looked like something out of HGTV...super cute!!! There's also plenty of free parking right out front, and there are bonus spaces specifically dedicated to the patrons of the restaurant. The staff overall was pleasant and diligent in their efforts, but it does seem like this restaurant is still working out some basic kinks. Yelp pro tip: double check your bill for accuracy before paying. And ask of clarity regarding what you are paying for in terms of the drink packages. Also, I assume most of the food is made to order, so do not be in a hurry here, and do not arrive starving..you've been warned!!. Otherwise, The food was quite good!! My favorite was the lamb chops, mac and cheese, and cornbread (which is sweet btw). My friend loved the lemon pepper wings and the shrimp and grits. I went here for brunch on Sunday. The food was great (I had deviled eggs, blackened salmon, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, and sautéed spinach)....but everything else about my visit was terrible. Our reservation was at 1:00. We were seated at 1:30. We did not finish eating and receive our checks until after 5:00. And there were no more than 25 people in their restaurant.... Which seats (at least) 50. Our server only had our table (table of 7) and another table of 6. That is it. It took over an hour for him to take our order. It took another hour for us to receive our order. We had conversations about this with the manager AND the owner about how slow everything was. They were flippant and unapologetic. We were there so long that happy hour started. (Happy hour starts at 3:00.) we had a very long dispute about whether happy hour applied on Sunday. The manager said that even though THEIR signs and their website said "happy hour every day" it really meant "Monday-Friday". This was unacceptable. I do not recommend. I may come back to the bar during happy hour (during the week ) but I would not come back for a full meal. read more

I finally tried Cori's! We had the crab dip, cornbread, chicken and sausage pasta, catfish bites, and Mac and cheese. The crab dip was good. It was different to have it with pita chips but it wasn't horrible. The cornbread taste like cake, so delicious. The catfish bites were good... Very well seasoned. The Mac and cheese was good, but the noodles were very soft maybe even over cooked which threw off the flavor for me. The chicken and sausage pasta was missing the sausage lol so that was interesting. The people were friendly but the service was extremely slow. There were a total of 3 people in the bar area and we didn't get asked about refills or if we wanted more drinks. (However, my margarita was delish) The appetizer took about 45 min to come out and the food took over 1 hour to come out. For this reason, I am reluctant to return. Cori's was one big pleasant surprise! It's a literal hidden gem, because, well, it's hidden. It's in an office building with poor signage and we drove past it several times before realizing where we were! We went on a Tuesday which was amazingly enough their extended happy hour day! Whoooo hoooo! It went until they closed at 9! We sat at a high top bar table and took the bartenders suggestion on the catfish bites and crab dip. Holy OMG yum on that catfish. The dip was stellar as well but I could've ordered three more apps of the catfish and bottled the remoulade to take home. For dinner we had the smothered pork chop and the fish of the day which was rockfish. The chef actually came out and asked us how we wanted everything cooked- he was super sweet and very attentive! His name was Jay I believe and he was the BOMB. Our dinner was superb. Drinks were good- everything was good! What a great place. They've got to do some more marketing because they're not in a place to get a ton of foot traffic and the food is too good to miss! read more

We came here to celebrate my daughter's 6th month birthday as well as my mom's retirement on a Tuesday afternoon. When we arrived, they weren't crowded at all and we were able to be seated immediately. For our orders, my parents got the Surf and Turf, my wife got the salmon dish, and I got the Fried Catfish Sandwich. For appetizers, we got the mac & cheese as well as the cornbread. I have to honestly say, I was impressed with the food. Shout out to whoever picked the menu because this food was gooood. The catfish sandwich was really good, although I wished the bun had been toasted just slightly more. The fries that came with it were unique in that I hadn't seen fries like this before, but maybe I just hadn't experienced them enough. The surf and turf was excellent according to my parents and the salmon was fresh and didn't seem frozen. The mac & cheese was some of the best I had but the cornbread was top-notch! I'd come back just for the cornbread. They didn't have much of a drink menu, just wine and beer I think. Came here on a random date night with bae. We like to try new spots and this one is one we have passed by but never got to try. We were NOT in any way disappointed! Every single thing we ordered was better than the item before. The lemon pepper wings were flavorful and the waiter told us to make sure to add the fresh lemon wedge over the chicken before asking for Ranch or Blue cheese. And once we did that we devoured the whole plate. Lol. The cornbread was filled with bits of corn and covered with a sweet butter. Definitely took some home. I believe I visited cori's on a Friday night. A very very cold Friday night. I give this place a 4 and a very strong 4 because everything about this dining experience was good BESIDES the fact that the inside is disrespectfully cold. I couldn't enjoy my experience because I had to eat with a coat on. Not even a strong drink could warm me up. I brought my 6month old daughter to dinner and she had to sit and eat with a big teddy suit on.. it's like there was no heating in this place. That sucked for real! Decided to try this place out for a date night with the boyfriend. We really liked the food and the ambiance felt upscale and classy yet homie. Food: 4/5 We got the Mac & Cheese for the little one and the spicy creole salmon pasta / chicken bacon pasta for our entrees. We both really liked it. Personally I felt the spicy creole pasta could have had a little more sauce. However, the salmon was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. It had a nice crispy layer of the salmon skin on top. The pasta had a kick to it so if you like something with some heat this is your dish. My favorite was the Mac & Cheese deff get it. It's an appetizer but a pretty big size. One recommendation we have for the business owner is to have a kids menu. If not a kids menu options for smaller portion sizes for the little ones. They do have high chairs for kids. I highly recommend Cori's due to tasty food and drinks. The atmosphere is nice on the inside. Don't let the outside turn you away! Once I arrived, I did notice that the A/C was out/ off. It made it a little uncomfortable and I don't really understand why it was never addressed. I didn't let that stop me from ordering food. The lamb chops wings, and pasta are great. Kay was our bartender and she was friendly, but lacked attentiveness after she got more customers at the bar. They should probably get a waitress for the eating area behind the bar because was waiting for those tables as well as making all the drinks. I'm sure that was overwhelming for her. This his restaurant was just ok; I'm not in a rush to go back. The ambiance is really nice. It's on the small side but, it's very intimate and not too crowded. The people were really friendly and the music was great. If I were to come back, I would go straight to the bar and have a drink. When my friend and I first walked in, no one was at the front to greet us. Someone from the bar did speak to us after standing there for a few minutes; she said someone would be with us shortly. A few more people came through, waited around for a bit, and then they were seated within five minutes of waiting. After waiting for close to 15 minutes, I finally caught the attention of the young lady at the bar and she sat us. Our server came over and took our orders; he was extremely nice and personable. We didn't have to wait that long for our food to come out once he placed the order. As far as the food, the macaroni and cheese was really good. It was extremely cheesy, very well seasoned, and hot. However, my friend and I both ordered the fried chicken, and it was not cooked all the way through. I didn't finish the chicken but took it home and tried to recook it the next day, but it was not cooked well the first time, so I just threw it out. Started with the catfish nuggets. They were very good. Especially the 2 sauces that came with it. One person in our party had the shrimp and grits & wasnt pleased. It wasn't horrible but it could've used some work. She sent it back. I had the chicken and French toast.(sub the waffle for French toast- extra $5) It was really good!! Chicken was hot and crispy. We went to Cori on a Friday night, the pork chops were super juicy, tender, salty, full of flavors with a hint of sweet. The salmon was cooked perfectly: juicy, flaky, and seasoned well; the cornbread was not very moist, crumbly, and not sweet at all, we could taste the honey and the vanilla separately, the ingredients did not blend well. I think the restaurant is new and still need a bit more renovation nor it's for romantic dinner or a quiet place (musics were a bit loud). Update: I decided to do a yelp review just out of genuine courtesy of the good service received, specifically from Eugene and Damarcko, and the food quality. However, at the time of checking out a lady who wasn't our server dropped the check and I also informed her of the promo. She took the check back and a few moments later a lady I'm guessing was the manager came over and told us that because we didn't order full priced items we couldn't utilize the promo, however she would take a small amount off, which ended up equating to about $6. This was very off putting because nowhere within the yelp app or fine print did it say that we had to buy full price items. I just left Cori's with my family and was told there was a $3 per person cake fee if they had to cut and serve. No problem we brought cupcakes to make it easy and save a little money. We asked them to refrigerate for us and they still charged the fee. Now our bill was over $450, so the $33 isn't the issue. The issue is that's not what we were told when I called to make reservations. The manager told me that if you eat the cake in the restaurant the fee applies. What! Never heard of that and had I known I would have gotten a beautiful cake and had them serve to earn the fee! To add, service was way too slow for the amount of people at the restaurant. Went here on a Saturday around 1p and after stalking the menu at home I knew I wanted a pasta dish. But I didn't realize they only serve brunch on Sat&Sun before 3:30p. Sigh.. I ordered the fried green tomatoes app and the Cajun salmon and eggs entree. The fried green tomatoes were just ok. They were super crunchy outside and two of the insides were crunchy also. The Cajun salmon and eggs definitely made up for it! The salmon was cooked perfectly, potatoes seasoned great, and the eggs had great flavor. Family I have found the "BOMB dot Com" food spot here in Southern Maryland. You got to try the food at Cori's Modern Kitchen". The service is good, drinks are and the food is seriously DELICIOUS! I ordered quite a few things to sample. The catfish sandwich made me want to slap my momma. The lamb chop appetizer was seasoned well, tender and tasty. The fried green tomatoes were Banging! I haven't had such a tasty meal that I didn't personally make in a while. The bartender Terri was GREAT! The manager Eugene was wonderful. I will definitely be eating here again.
