This is a great place to grab food and drinks in the Bluegrass Airport. You will be surprised by…read morethe extensive bourbon selections. You don't feel like you are in an airport restaurant. The service at the bar is excellent with both bartenders being very talkative and engaging. I ordered the Cheeseburger with Fries. My wife had the Grilled Romaine Chicken Caesar. We were here around 4:30-5:00pm on Monday and it was very busy, but all the service was very good. It's pricey, but, you are in an airport and this is only one of two restaurants in this airport.

Food - I typically get the ham and cheese omelette. Which is very good. Not worth the money but…read morewhat are you going to do airport prices! Ambiance- well it's a restaurant inside an airport Service- now this is something. Matt was the dude behind the bar. It was a little busy but the kitchen was very slow. Took forever to get my breakfast. This girl ordered an omelette to go. She waited a good 30 minutes for her omelette at which point she was like my plane is boarding and I gotta go. Matt was like you seen how busy it is so you can go but you still gotta pay for omelette which took way too long to make. The girl was nothing but polite and Matt just kept on making comments. They finally got the omelette out for a to go order. After she walked out Matt was telling everyone that he thought they were going to brawl. Nothing but politeness from the girl, handled way better than most people. Dam sure wouldn't be paying crap if I didn't get my food in a timely manner. After the brawl comment Matt goes on to tell everyone at the bar that he had a girl that apparently never been in a restaurant before. Uncalled for. This girl was nothing but polite Matt kept pushing her to stay. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't miss her flight. People like that I don't understand, this girl never raises her voice and he just kept making sly comments. Matt if ya can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen! Don't get me wrong everyone else I have dealt with at bourbon library has been great. Matt on the other hand if he is here I will pass by!

If Dean is working... service is 5 stars... EVER time. If every server was like him, dining out…read morewould always be an amazing experience. The food is also good and fairly pried for an airport. Since this is a Kentucky airport, they have a great bourbon selection. The also have Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, which happens to be my FAVORITE beer! Its a local brewery (Kentucky Ale) that will age the beer the bourbon barrels for several weeks. If you've never tried it - TRY IT! There are only two restaurant (and a Dunkin Donuts) in the airport, so its either this or Mexican. Food comes out quick and you can now get drinks (including alcohol) to go and drink in the terminal (can't take it on the plane).

It was and not too hoppy for my taste buds. I'd give the beer three out of five stars. The restaurant had a ton of seating which was good as I believe this is the only sit-down restaurant in this small airport. I saw some folks ordering food but I ate prior to being dropped off at the airport. The bartender was friendly and let me sample the beer before I purchased it. There was a television at the bar so I could watch the football game. There was also a power plug right below the bar in front of my seat. This was a nice touch!

After my previous bad experience at Thirsty Fox (reviewed separately), I was looking for a vibe…read moreshift. Ona provided it! A foosball table, a backgammon set, deep wood colors and an art deco vibe. This dark, moody little bar had a friendly bartender and unusual drinks. I had the "I Go Where I'm Led," made with kimchi infused vodka, gin, dolin dry, and celery salt. It did indeed taste like kimchi and was certainly weird. I also had the "Need 3," made with prosciutto basil infused gin sotol, amaro obscuro, bitters, and soda. Also a savory, bizarre drink that I'm glad I tried, but wouldn't get again. They have more conventional cocktails as well, like the Paper Plane, Naked and Famous, Corpse Reviver #2. They have IPAs and plain Miller Lites. They have basic red, white, and sparkling wine. Prices range from 8-13 dollars.

They served others who entered the bar after us, doing shots with them. The bartenders were very rude, online it says they close at 2, one of the bartenders yelled, "It's time to get the fuck out" at 1:10, right after they had finally served us. All the workers were clearly intoxicated/on drugs, and were dancing to static playing on the speakers. I was hoping for a better experience, instead I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome.

We went for brunch this weekend. First time here and we both got the specials. I got the omelet…read morewith goat cheese and red onion. Husband had the bread pudding French toast. We also had coffees (regular drip for me and an iced latte for him). And I also tried the key lime gimlet. It's made with Castle & Key gin which is a favorite of mine. Ambience was very nice and the food was delicious. I asked for a side of bacon. I am very particular about my bacon and it came out cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. Service was fantastic and pleasant. The only criticism I had is that the red onion in my omelet was bitter. But no one's fault, sometimes onions are very astringent. Everything else was delicious and well made. Oh and we got the house made cinnamon roll for the table. This was delicious. So buttery and gooey with cinnamon. We will be back, maybe for dinner to try their dinner menu!

Char on Ashland is a must-visit in Lexington! We tried five items and here's the honest breakdown:…read more The Cinnamon Bun is a 10/10 -- hands down the star of the visit. It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! Overall a great spot with a lot of potential -- the pastry alone is worth the trip. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
