I've been curious about this place for awhile. We don't live too far away, and I've seen so many people rave about how they're better than Mary Lou. I finally decided it was time, and we got some donuts to try. The texture of the donuts is the best part. They're pillow soft, probably the softest donuts I've ever had. However, the taste didn't live up to the hype for me. They're not bad donuts (it's difficult to make a bad donut), but they're not better than Mary Lou, even with the dip in quality Mary Lou has had in the last few years. They're also more expensive. Best donuts I've ever had. Very soft and delicate. The glazed topping is sweet and delicious but doesn't taste sugary and grainy the way grocery store donuts do. I've never had a donut there that didn't taste absolutely fresh. Plus the price is very reasonable. I guess I'd like it if they stayed open longer but if they did, that could lead to leftovers/day-olds on slow days and that's just not how they do things. You go here you get a fresh donut. Ok - I must make a THIRD review adding back a star! Who loves yelp positive improvements? We all do! Everyone wins. I have a little secret confession to make that is perhaps a little cute... I have friends and any guest at my home at 5:00 AM (from something such as Mario Party nights that turn into morning) go to the donut shop nearby. I have been Amanda "I love sprinkles" K since yelp nicknaming myself and these sprinkle donuts are so great they are like crack to me. I clearly don't do drugs. No way! I am "high on life" & "sprinkles"are my life drug! I am like the little sneak now begging my friends to go get donuts! Only 85 cents for most, made fresh daily, and totally delicious. Soft, fresh, amazing! I have been scared to visit myself since a couple bad encounters, but lady owner KNOWS my people and that they are delivering donuts to me. Personality has shined through. I have still received fabulous sprinkle donuts (no poison or sprinkle deprivation). No spite. Just quality donuts as I have always said. I hope our bad encounters have been wrong perceptions & we can be BFF morning friends soon and I can pick up my own donuts and rerank to 5 stars! First, the donuts are good! No problem there. But, not a smile to be seen, no greeting. Mother (owner) and son (?) were serving. Not a happy place. Maybe they'd had a disagreement? Bad news? Anyway, i was most disturbed because they were not wearing masks or gloves. I expressed my surprise and the response was along the lines of "Why would we? They don't work." I replied that medical professionals would disagree and was told that if I didn't like it, then don't bother to come here anymore. Wooooo. Definitely not how to win friends and influence enemies. I've been in this shop several times but not in the last four years. Stopped in on weekend morning salivating for a rare doughnut treat. Then saw their new prices. What a buzzkill. "Cheaper by the dozen" doesn't apply here: $12 per basic dozen, $1/each and more for the filled and fancy ones. The product is good but way way overpriced. I won't be back. read more

Out west, donuts come in pink boxes. Why? I have no idea. I suspect that the box inspires a pseudo-Pavlovian response that keeps donut lovers up and down the west coast coming back for more. The only problem here? West coast donuts suck. In the interest of full disclosure, I knew the Corlew family. I know that Mr. Corlew once busted his ass under the banner of the Payless grocery chain as the bakery manager. I know that his labor produced the first fat pills I ever enjoyed as a kid. Now I live in the great state of Oregon. I have searched high and low for a donut that approaches Corlew quality, and there isn't anything around that could approximate what this family owned shop produces. When I find a West Coast donut joint that can create a light, fluffy donut of unsurpassed quality, I'll give them props. Until then, I'll continue to fly home to get my fill of chocolate fluff filled powdered bismarcks. It's worth the price of a flight. Seriously. read more

Finally got to visit this establishment last weekend. Really good and worth the trip. Tiger tails and cinnamon rolls were outstanding.

Very good doughnuts but seem to run a bit on the small side. Staff was friendly much more so then the other doughnut place. I have heard a number of people complain the close up early and I have shown up around 10 to find almost empty cases but this time I was there a little after 9 on a Sunday and they had plenty left. While I believe the doughnuts are better and employees are more friendly than the other place, they are about 2x as expensive. read more

It was 9 AM and I pulled up next to a truck outside, the neon open sign was turned off and although the truck and I could both see the two people inside while they moved baking pans neither of them came out to tell us what was going on. Mary Lou's donuts is do much better than this place. I can get 2 dozen fresh donuts from Mary Lou's for the price of one dozen and they taste worse and don't have the selection or variety that Mary Lou's does. The only good thing about this place is its open on Sundays so you can still get donuts. ( all of you Mary Lou's people know what I mean) I honestly don't know how this place stays in business. read more

There wasn't much left when I got there, but what I was able to get was just what I needed after tough Dunkin Donuts the day before. Corlew had just the right soft inside to hint of crisp on the outside. Good donuts are getting hard to find. read more

Like the variety of flavors available, quality was pretty good too. Both the staff & the doughnuts make my morning routine better. Would recommend the apple cinnamon bun though, they're addicting. read more
