A decent place for a soup or a sandwich in the Loop. I do enjoy the potato soup in the winter although they only serve it for part of the week which is kind of annoying. Wow, what a mess! Bathrooms disgusting, women's out of order , men's room trash can overflowing to floor. Two out of the three orders we placed were incorrect, missing ingredients, wrong entree brought- twice! Manager never came to the table, no apology or compensation. Coffee, (although as Aussies we generally hate USA coffee) was good, albeit they make it so hot you have to wait a while so you don't lose the skin of the top of your mouth or burn your tongue. Stopped by to pick up their new meatball panini. Service was slow; my order number wasn't called, and a sandwich/soup combo showed up. I told them that's not what I ordered. I waited more, and my order wasn't called, so I had to go up and remind them I was waiting for an order. After 20 minutes of waiting, total, they gave me my order and a $5 coupon for my waiting. When I got back to the office, it was a sandwich/soup combo. Best yet, they kept my receipt. No time to fix it now, and the time is more important than the money. The female manager I believe her name was Carroll, hands down the best Manager I have ever seen in any restaurant / fast food eatery! Very generous, funny, and keeps her staff motivated. Quite possibly the best CB Chopped Salad I've ever had, and I've eaten a lot of them! :) Located at the Washington/Wells brown line stop on the northeast corner, this location draws the loop lunch crowd. It was very busy at the lunch hour, but the service was great and the food was on point. It might be hard to find a seat during the rush, but, because most of the diners are on their lunch hour, the turnover is quick, and, from what I saw today, the tables are bussed quickly to accommodate those wishing to dine in. Horrible. Maybe it was the delay from when a co-worker went to pick up the meals, but this place was BAD. I got the egg white aneheim scrambler. No taste whatsoever. The bread they gave was cold, the food is tasteless, and the fruit is even overly moist. I have over half the meal left, and i just cant take another bite, it'd be worthless. there is absolutely no taste, even the bacon taste like mush. read more

This is always a good lunch stop when you're downtown. There are so many locations that even if you get spun around, you'll still be able to find good food to eat before starving. My office is across the street from this Corner Bakery. I eat here once or twice a week and have done so for years. I am very familiar with their menu items. I enjoy so many of the items they sell. The breakfast meals are amazing and the same is true of the lunch. All of the dishes I regularly get are great. Special mention has to go to the bread. It is so good!! The bread used in the Uptown Turkey Avocado is just good enough to eat with nothing else but this sandwich is really a joy. The prices are competitive. They serve excellent iced tea. I often pick restaurants just on the iced tea and this is an outstanding feature here. Can't forget to mention the deserts and sweet treats. I try to avoid them but when I break down and get some I am always so happy to have done so. All of this works well because there are so many really nice and professional people that work at this location. Orders are accurate and prepared quickly. Please go check it out. I do marketing and though I am reimbursed for all the meals I buy, I am astonished at the cost of a breakfast platter of bagels and muffins. Even the cost here was $60 to feed about 15 people. When I stopped in though, the manager happily accommodates me with a better arrangement and a great deal. They have done this each time I've needed a platter for breakfast or lunch. Some times it's cheaper to buy the items on menu but they always box it up nicely at no cost. Excellent customer service! I will only use this location for my orders and I always stop in rather than call or order on line. read more

Walked in with 5 people not realizing it was 5 mins before closing. Food all arrived on time and was tasty - what impressed us was the staff never let on that we sat there for over 30 mins when the place was really closed. I ordered a chopped salad. The container was filled with mostly lettuce, a slither of chicken, a few tomatoes and pieces of avocado. It came with the smallest container of dressing. I was confused because I ordered a chopped salad not a container of lettuce. I tossed it in the trash once I ate the pieces of meat and lettuce the dressing covered. The chicken noodle soup was tasteless. I tossed the soup in the trash as well. The best part however was the delicious piece of bread that came with it. read more

I came in for my normal lunch and they were having trouble with their credit card machines. After a second swipe I see and tell the girl that card reader said approved and she stated that it didn't go through and asked me to swipe again. I swiped it again and it stated approved again and she hands me a receipt and says see it went through and that if there was a problem I could handle it with my bank. This is the most unprofessional and backwards response I've ever heard. A receipt is not proof that there weren't 2 charges and sure enough after checking my account there were 2 charges so now I have to dispute the charge. Instead of acknowledging that she didn't know what she was doing or playing games and trying to be slick (she walked away with a sly look on her face) she should have listened to the customer because now I'm wasting time contacting and checking with my bank over what I was told can be anywhere from 3 days to a month to make sure my dispute of the double charge is credited back to my account. I guess I should have just talked to a manager and raised hell for them to listen, oh but there wont be a next time as I'll take my money elsewhere instead of buying overpriced meager meals. read more
