Went here yesterday 11/12/2016 Saturday about 11:30 am, had the salad trio, yummy. I didn't know I could get soup in the trio? Delicious chicken lemon orzo rice soup. Best chicken salad. I get something here every once in a while because it's on my walk home from the train. The food is OK, nothing special. The bagels at Corner Bakery are actually halfway decent (Panera's don't have the "heaviness" and bite that I prefer in a "real" bagel). I've had an order mix-up here once that I caught before I left the parking lot thankfully - I got another Ed's order that actually had more stuff than the one I'd placed, but hadn't noticed any problems otherwise. This place has potential and I'm willing to give them another try. We had it catered-Lunch box. It came with chips, cookie, pasta salad, fruit salad and a whole sandwich. The bread on my turkey sandwich was pretty hard. Scratched the roof of my mouth a couple times. I loved their pasta salad though- with cucumbers, tomatoes and mozzarella. My fruit salad in particular was mostly unwanted pieces of pineapples with some granny smiths and cantaloupe. Surprisingly their sugar cookies are quite good. I love chocolate chip but I finished all of my sugar cookie. Would I choose this over Panera or Potbelly? Probably not. read more

Some people never seize to amaze how unprofessional they can be. There is a woman there named shelly who is supposed to be the manager. I don't think that should be her title. Serve me my food without questioning me about a previous situation. That is so tacky and unprofessional. It was like she wanted to start a confrontation. You don't handle things that way if you want to have regulars. I will not visit this location again unless management is improved. The kitchen staff and cooks ruined my lunch TWICE today, and I will never come back here because of it. I ordered a BLT on toasted sourdough bread (pretty simple, right?). When my sandwich came out it was clearly on un-toasted bread (totally white). So I asked them very nicely to please bring it back and toast the bread (at this point I was not upset and just wanted what I ordered... figured it was just a simple mistake). After consulting the kitchen about my request, the server came back to me and said "they said the bread was toasted... would you just like it to be darker?" I said I guess so because usually when bread is toasted there is some sign of the bread being darkened by the toasting (I just wanted my sandwich on normal toast, like it was supposed to be!). So after patiently waiting, my sandwich came back out, except this time with completely burnt toast (see picture). The top was pretty badly burnt, and the under side touching my food was so burnt it was completely black! Something that any decent kitchen would NEVER allow to be served. On top of it, my side salad had sat under a heat lamp for a long time and that was also disgustingly ruined. I have never in my life sent anything back to the kitchen TWICE, so instead I will just never return here. It wasn't even busy at all (at noon on a Monday)... so there was no excuse for the poor cooking and service. There are too many good options in the area for a quality meal, especially for the high price... do yourself a favor and avoid this place! I would give no stars if possible, but I guess the one star can be because the wait staff was friendly and smiling... but the food was HORRIBLE. read more

Basically a bad version of panera. Boring food, bland pasta, dry salads. Not even good service to make up for it. Pretty hidden restaurant but still wanted to give it a go. Cashier was not at all happy to be there. I got cheddar broccoli soup, mac and cheese, and a cinnamon roll. The soup was very hot and flavorful, same goes for the mac and cheese. The cinnamon roll was very moist and succulent. The only reason for the 3 star was it was a bit slow and as i said before... the cashier was clearly not happy at all to be there or take my order. Food was very good though. read more

I hadn't been to a Corner Bakery in a while so thought i'd give it another shot. I had the soup/sam combo with their "new" Turkey Cobb sandwich and Chicken Noodle Soup. It wasn't too bad, not great but ringing in at nearly $10 this place is ridiculously overpriced. read more

Food quality/presentation not as good as some of the locations I have been to. Went for lunch, had a grilled panini and lemon pound cake for dessert. Dessert was great, the sandwich was just ok. It was extremely warm in the restaurant also. Probably will not return. read more

I love the environment here. There's lots of tables and booths, but it's never been crowded when I come so I always have a place to open up my laptop amd work in peace. The food is a good price and pretty decent, the staff is friendly, and I love the baked treats and coffee. A chocolate chip flavored marshmallow in a pumpkin latte? Genius. I take my granddaughters there at least once a month sometimes twice. We've been there for breakfast and lunch and have always had quick friendly service. The food is similar to Panera but much better and I use to love Panera. Since finding Corner Bakery 3 years ago I have not been back to Panera. CB bakery items are excellent and their menu items are also. I have had pancakes which I love very light and fluffy, breakfast sandwiches , pasta, chicken berry salad over the years. It's all been good. Their crisp breads are fabulous. At CB you walk in order at counter drool over bakery items find a place to sit get your own drinks and then wait for your food to be delivered. In 3 years I've never had a problem. Now it is not a place to take a man who likes to eat big. While many thin men are there my husband can't stand it too froo froo for him as he says. Hence I take my granddaughters or my daughter. It's all good! read more

I eat at the LaGrange Corner Bakery about once every few months. I like the soups, Zesty chicken tortilla, loaded potato, and sandwiches (chicken pesto, ham on pretzel roll) . The salad trio good as well. I have been happy with the service other than the times when there are not enough cashiers to handle the long line. I also find that once and awhile a large carry out order can monopolize staff and make the wait for Ordering and food much longer. Their location is great and they have lots of seating options. Overall a good place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. read more

I enjoy coming here once a month for a salad, but this time we used the catering service. Was easy to order online and the selection was great! Ordered half sandwiches (picked 5 different kinds), a green salad and the Mediterranean platter. The food was fresh and delicious. Didn't give 5 stars because I waited almost a half hour past pick up time. It was a Sunday afternoon and they were extremely busy, but evidently they don't pack your order until you arrive. Corner bakery doesn't post their breakfast menu on the board, but they still have retained their breakfast menu, like the Anaheim Scrambler! You just have to ask for the menu. I like the fact you still can order a regular size coffee with your meal and get free refills. I wish they would post the breakfast menu again. Lunch is good and consistent as well. Most people know the Corner Bakery brand and have an expectation that it is a little bit nicer than a standard cafe. I've been coming to this location for a long time, even with my children when they were growing up. The food is always excellent. No complaints there. I had not been back in about a year and find that some things haven't changed. The furniture is really old. Not that it would matter by it looks bad. And the varnish on the chairs is melting off from cleaning products also making them sticky to the touch. The tables are not wiped. The door revolving is loaded with fingerprints. The door jams are dirty. The entry tables with the packages bakery is dusty. Now, I know a lot of kids come in and families. But when I see fingerprints during this flu epidemic it makes me feel like I can see the germs right there. The same nice woman is walking around delivery did and picking up the dirty dishes. She is so friendly everyone knows her. That is great in this smaller town to see the friendliness but they really need a worker-bee who is diligently walking around cleaning the tables and Windows. I haven't seen anyone wipe the beverage bar either. Well, main reason I came here today was to sit and eat and work on WiFi. It wasn't available so I will be leaving. Probably will choose another location for this purpose next time. I will continue to get food from here but will only Carry out so I can avoid eating on dirty tables. This is a great location and they do good business here. Please tell corporate to give them attention and us new furniture. I don't think they have replaced or renovated in over ten years. This is my kids' number one choice for lunch. You just can't beat the kids meal deal. However, something is off lately with their panini/grilled cheese press and the sandwiches have consistently come out darker than usual. And yes, my kids order saying they'd like their usual but now with lightly toasted. I've not had a bad item on the menu either. The salads are exquisite and the paninis delicious. I gave this experience one star because Yelp doesn't allow to give No Stars- Today I dined at Corner Bakery for the 1st time and needless to say my 1st impression was horrible. My boyfriend and I paid $27.00 for dinner only to leave feeling disrespected and angry. While we were dining, The Manager Mitch came out to the dining area to serve "everyone" free cookies. He approaches the 1st table, 2 caucasian couples who had finished their dinner but were still sipping on their drinks, having a conversation with one another. He then approaches the next table where an elderly Caucasian man who had purchased a meal and desert was sitting, Mitch then walks next to the table my BF and I were sitting at only to approach the Caucasian Family in the table next to us, who had purchased only deserts . After making conversation with them, he proceeds to the back of the counter where he continued working, absolutely ignoring the fact that my BF and I were even in the restaurant. My BF and I are an interracial couple (I am Caucasian and he is African American) and I believe we were ignored because of this. Mitch had no problems approaching everyone else's table, interrupting them while they were eating their dinners, drinking their beverages or mid conversation with the other people at their table but had a problem approaching our table. And he did not even try to hide the fact that he was ignoring us since he clearly walked right past us to get to the table next to us. It is not about the free cookie it is about the morals behind it, it is 2014 and an interracial couple should be treated the exact same way everyone else is. I will be contacting corporate 1st thing in the morning and will be sharing my experience on my social media pages. My family dined at this restaurant tonight and won't be coming back. They messed up two of the four orders and then it took them over 30 minutes to correct the order. While I understand mistakes happen, the level of professionalism displayed by the staff was the straw that broke the camels back. Never once did they own the mistake or apologize, rather they chose to argue with us and try to spin it like it was our fault. Only silver lining was the bus boy who was very friendly and professional. Think twice about dining here so many better options in La Grange. read more

Meh. I seem to remember Corner Bakery being better at one time. Nothing's great and the ingredients are cheap. Very little bleu cheese and bacon on my chopped salad today and the chicken was weird. Every time I have come for the past several years, I am never impressed. New thing this time, they hold you hostage at the cash register collecting charity donations. I hate businesses that do that. I expect it at Whole Foods because that has always been their thing and they are selective and usually help out local organizations. I want to investigate a charity before I hand over money to them and don't want an attitude from a cashier if I choose to say no. Not that that happened at Corner Bakery but how could one not feel guilty saying no, and that's why I hate the practice. There are plenty of places to eat in Lagrange and this is close to the bottom of my preference list. Only thing going for it is that it's within walking distance to Trader Joes. I came here after my finals for a great breakfast. I ordered a bacon and cheddar panini with a large drink. As soon as I took a drink of my Dr. Pepper ™ I immediately noticed that there was a disgusting chemical like taste substance in the drink. I dumped it out, refilled it with Coke, and experienced the same taste. I decided to get a lemonade instead. The straw also tasted of the chemical as well. The sandwich was good though. I just left the corner bakery very disappointed. It was about 10:30am. The entire staff was completely focused on prep work and a large takeout order. The manager nervously paced the restaurant while talking on his cell phone. Maybe 10 minutes passed without my order coming up. I made an inquiry and the lady behind the counter told me I was next after the large order. There were clearly enough staff members to accomodate both orders. I told them to just forget my order and left without my sandwhich... they didn't try to refund my money or get any additional feedback. read more
