Breakfast bacon egg croissant
Rhonda F.

We had a meeting and needed lunch we order bacon & egg croissant, Uptown Turkey avacodo sandwich, and a cold brew. The croissant was fresh crisp flaky, eggs fluffy, bacon prominent the hole sandwich delicious. The turkey was delicious and the avacodo was the perfect complement for this sandwich. The cold brew was strong and tasty I added my own hazelnut creamer to top off this drink.

We came in for a bite to eat after attending a demonstration in front of the city hall. My friend had scrambled eggs, bacon, and a stack of pancakes, and a blueberry muffin. He enjoyed everything , but the coffee left grounds in his cup. I wasn't very hungry so I just had a muffin and a drink. The muffin was warmed up and it was chocolate. There's no such thing as a bad chocolate muffin . That's that's right right.

Great staff!! Friendly and accommodating. They keep brewing the coffee all day long!!! Keep getting a fresh cup. Halloween special today for a free cookie for the kiddos Tried their new pretzels sandwiches. Meat and combo always good. Probably would be better if the bread was toasted. Pretzel loaf was a bit dry

a suspicious bite taken out of my sandwich

This was my first and last experience with Corner Bakery. I ordered through Doordash, but that wasn't the issue. When I opened my sealed order, a tuna sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup, I noticed the soup cup wasn't filled, it was maybe a little more than halfway. Disappointed I didn't get the full portion I moved on to the barely there tuna sandwich. Now, when I tell you I'm disgusted, it's such an understatement. There was a BITE taken out of one of the tomatoes. like you can see their teeth and everything, gross! I called to let them know what happened and the manager kept repeating they cut their tomatoes daily. Not only is this the worst part of a tomato to serve a customer, but the bite, man. The portion, the bite, the gaslighting.. Truly disappointing and disgusting, I will never eat from any Corner Bakery again.

Quick service, clean and quiet. Lots of food choices, including half sandwiches if you're not too hungry. The bread they use is delicious and fresh. The salads are flavorful. They also have baked goods for your desserts, so don't miss out!

We came looking for a sweet treat and was definitely disappointed. We've been to this corner bakery before and usually the pastries are pretty fresh but this time the pumpkin bunt cake I got was kind of stale and hard. The cinnamon bunt cake that we got was definitely much fresher.

Came in one a Tuesday night close to closing. Love Corner Bakery! But a bit disturbed at the fact the lady that prepared my food was also cleaning (held a wet rag and sweeping the floor. Who knows how many hands touch or where that broom was stored) and she didn't change out her gloves. While the two ladies in front stood there waiting for the food to be packed. I wanted to say something but didn't want to since it was close to closing time. I'm the type of person that hates coming in close to closing. But wanted to use my discount before it expired since there's no location close to me. And my sandwich is brunt!

Choose Any Two - Which I got 1/2 BLT and a cup cheddar broccoli with a toast garlic bread. 1 medium coffee.

It was my 1st time EVER at corner bakery Cafe # 224. My experience was super great. The manager Jorge amazing and super great service, he's a very kind and friendly guy, Food was delicious and the coffee was delicious as well. Restaurant looked very clean and super comfortable environment. I will be coming back very Soon.

The Lakewood location stated that they do not participate in this promotion. . The neighborhood is deaf. I'm not gonna like this.
Becky R.

Definitely a huge disappointment. I go to this place quite often but when you see a special you're like right on it's about time. You call and they tell you that they're not participating in this promotion which truly upsetting because now I have to go to a different one and give them my business when this business is just right down the street from my house. It sucks for the whoever the manager the business manager tells them that they're not part of the promotion we just lost a lot of people.

The staff here is friendly and seemingly efficient. Orders are taken quickly. The tables get bussed regularly. I came here for breakfast. I was in the mood for bacon and eggs, which they sort of have. The eggs are scrambled only and they dont really taste like much. I blame my choice, as i'm sure the bakery-based products are much better. The coffee is pretty good. The space is clean and open. It was a pleasant place to hang for 30 minutes or so. This is like a 3 1/2 star place. But any fault I had today was for my poor choice, so round up.

Catering menu
Charlene B.

Back again for more great food, service and ambiance:) Came back just for the pastries and to see what other services are offered. As you stand in line, there are also pastries you can buy off the shelf, catering menus and large containers of coffee to go. I was excited to see that you can order "Truffle Hot Chocolate" for a large gathering. Doesn't that sound amazing!

Tuna sandwich with salad
Leslie Y.

Typically the main focus of a sandwich is the filling, but when you're dining at a bakery, it's the bread that really steals the show. I ordered a tuna sandwich. The tuna and the lettuce/tomato are good, but they're not nearly as memorable as the two pieces of multi-grain toasts holding the whole deal together. They are fragrant, fluffy, soft, and sweet. I ordered salad for my side because I am trying to eat better, and I realized that the salad dressing on the side serves as the perfect dipping sauce for the sandwich. You can dip your sandwich as you go, or you can drench the dressing all the sandwich. We all know that man shall not live by bread alone, so the kind and courteous service demonstrated by every staff really cinched the deal. Even though the customers order at the counter, they do bring the food to your table, and you can't bus your own table. I should tip more the next time I visit. The store is tastefully decorated, and I appreciate the local touch by having a mural featuring landmarks around the city of Lakewood.

They raised the prices for a Choose Two as well as a premium item :(

I have a witness who saw me bite into the sandwich, and the hair was wrapped inside the deli meat as it came out. By coincidence, I also have a home security camera that captured the moment. The hair did not come from my head--it had a blonde tone from end to end, unlike my own. You also stated that I received an item for free because it supposedly didn't ring up. That is simply incorrect. My card statement shows that I was charged for both items. I understand that you've been in business for 26 years, and that's commendable. However, every business can make a mistake. What surprised me most wasn't finding the hair--it was your decision to publicly accuse a customer of fabricating the experience instead of acknowledging that errors can happen. My review reflects exactly what happened. Rather than attacking my credibility and integrity a better response would have been to address the issue professionally and focus on making sure it doesn't happen again. Do better.

The server (owner?) asked if we wanted cheese and Cole slaw, and that's how we got it. The sandwich was big enough to share so if the sandwich seems pricey, consider sharing. Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.

Once open, I was ready to check out Mendocino Farms for the first time. The menu at Mendocino Farms consists primarily of sandwiches, salads & soup. After a quick perusal, I thought the Peruvian Steak sandwich best whet my appetite. Peruvian Steak sandwich- Spicy aji amarillo marinated steak with Oaxacan cheese, herb aioli, red onions, tomatoes, shredded romaine on a toasted potato roll. I quite liked this. Tender steak, with fatty cheese. The vegetables provided contrast & texture. For my purchase, I went with a side of Southern Potato Salad. It was good, but similar to grocery deli potato salad. In hindsight, I should've purchased avocado added to my Peruvian Steak sandwich. Service was excellent. All hands were on deck, as Mendocino Farms opened only a few days prior. Each employee had a name badge, specifying their name & which entree was their favorite, helping indecisive customers choose what to get. Plenty of seating indoors & al fresco. Parking is at LBX, with Mendocino Farms being across Georgia's and facing the Hangar at LBX. I found the Peruvian Steak sandwich delicious, yet meager in quantity, considering the regular price. It's more of a substantial snack, than a full meal, in my case. However, it's great to have another quality food option in the area, and I look forward to coming back & exploring the rest of menu.

The place has that comfortable, homegrown feel the moment you walk in. This is clearly not just a place people eat. It is part of the community. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, and it was very good. Soft tortilla, gooey cheese, flavorful chorizo, a little crispy bacon, and a reasonable price. Nothing overly fancy or trying too hard. Just a warm, satisfying burrito made the way a neighborhood favorite should make it. There were also quite a few military members from the nearby base, which adds another layer to the local pride and gives the whole place a little patriotic energy. I chase burritos.
