Yeah, pretty good stuff here. Very modest 'deli-like' setting but hugely popular. We were there for a rather busy Tuesday lunch crowd. We got there just at the beginning of the rush, yet I watched plates come flying out of the back soon after arriving. We were told "give me 10 minutes" and our 'best ever tasted' hummus came out only 1 minute late, then the very good Kabob entrees came just 3 minutes after that. The chicken breast Kabob was seasoned and cooked perfectly moist, something not commonly found at many/most kabob houses. The good lamb kabob chunks worked well with the grilled red onions and bell peppers however neither of the plates came with the aforementioned hummus and pita. All drinks are bottled/canned from the fridge, unless you want tap from the back. "I'll have the bottle", I said to one of the two or three working the place as they all seemed to show out front at different times. Service was friendly and hospitable after ordering at the counter and finding any available seat. And, they knew where every plate went without numbers on the tables or names being called. Outside tables looked to be popular and a nice area, however we didn't venture out in this day after the recent rain here in North County. Plates and servings were adequate and the plate's rice and 'built on the plate' salad were plentiful, and the bright and flavorful dill dressing filled up the voids. Also, along with the plates, they served an outstanding yogurt and vegetable dressing for dipping. Where have these guys been hiding? Great spot here in the North County. I ordered the chicken and beef kabob sandwich's. I paid over 35 dollars for both sandwiches thinking they'd live up to the price. I couldn't have been more wrong. The lettuce was welted and there was barely any meat in the sandwiches. They were 70% pita and lettuce. Didn't get a bit of meat till my 5th bite into the sandwich. Not to mention the chicken was dry. I never write reviews but I had to say something about this place. Very disappointed. It is delicious hear the food. The salad that comes with the meal is very tasty and good with the salad dressing. They have lamb, chicken, steak, Cornish hen, and it is all tasty. There are also hummus and yogurt with shallots to go if you want as well as some ice cream sandwiches that are delicious. I have been back several times and will be back again. First off, though, I looked at the prices on their menu and I was hesitant. Pricey at first glance. I opted for the chicken chunk sandwich at $10.99. I wanted the salmon and rice plate but not at $17.99. It took 10-15 min to get my order and it was worth it. Wow! Impressed us again. I had gotten the chicken skewer before and loved it, so was going to order it again. I m glad they were out, tho, because it made me order the lamb skewer. It was delicious- very tender and well seasoned. My wife had the daily stew special. It tasted completely different - but also excellent. It's not a fancy place, but is clean and pleasant. We ordered 16 entrees for lunch today, every single meal was prepared correctly (several special instructions) and every person was so stoked on their food! Now lets move on to customer service. I was so impressed with Corner Grill today. Like I Said, 16 entrees! They called me to verify the order and to update my expectations on timing. I really appreciated the communication, so that I could keep working instead of standing around waiting in the restaurant. When I arrived to pick up, they were so organized and ready for me. Each entree was labeled (including special instructions), which made it super easy to double check to make sure everything was right. They had even printed a copy of the order so I could make sure! Damon was so friendly and helpful and the owner Hamed made sure we had everything we needed. CATERING REVIEW: We had 40 people attend a Memorial/Family Reunion on 6-15-24 at my house and everyone loved the food! I chose a couple of the package meals (feeds 10 people each), then added extra chicken kabobs, tzatziki and hummus. My guests were mmming out loud and commenting about how delicious everything was. The food was put in long aluminum pans, which fit exactly in my chafing dishes, so with the hot water bath in each pan to keep it warm, it was perfect. You ever bookmark something, and then realize you are not at the place you intended to go? I meant to go to North Park Produce, but ended up here instead. It took me long enough just to find this market, tucked away in the corner of a crappy plaza. I was hungry, the menu looked interesting, so I stayed. Long story short, it was a great mistake to find this hidden gem! I was super impressed, not only with service, but the food and groceries as well. Today I had the salmon kebab, and they let me modify the plate to all salad and no rice. I look forward to working my way down the menu (and getting here earlier on a Friday to try the lamb shank- it was already sold out by the time I arrived). I even treated myself to a dessert called Hala, a nut and seed bar with honey. Delicious. I found a few speciality groceries, such as Labne and Orange Blossom Water, much less expensive than Frazier Farms. I look forward to picking up teas and coffees on a future visit. Wow! We are only here for a few days and I wish I could be here throughout the week to get each of their lunch specials! I got the number five, chicken kabob and my husband got the combo kebabs. Both of our plates were amazing and the service was great, too. My chicken was cooked perfection. It was nice and charred on the outside and so juicy and tender on the inside. I also got the Saturday lunch special to go because I did not want to miss out! I took it to our hotel for dinner and I had to dig in when we got there because it looked so delicious and the lavash bread looked like they made it in house! This place is delicious. I was turned on to this place by a Persian friend. My family has been going to Corner Grill since it was originally a market and grill. We typically get the 2x Koobideh combo (#3), the Koobideh/Chicken combo (#6) and a pound of gyro meat. Both the Koobideh and Chicken are always so flavorful and tender. The rice and salad (with dressing on side) are always fresh and tasty. They also give you Sumac, which I had never tried before going to Corner Grill. Now I have a bag of the spice at home to add to my rice. Love it. On this last visit, my order was incorrect. I ordered the number #3 and #6, but my #6 did not have the Koobideh, only the chicken. I called the operator/owner and he apologized. I just wanted to let him know so the next time I go in, he can take care of it for me. He offered to refund to my credit card some $$$, but I said I'll just mention it next time. The operator/owner is always very friendly and accommodating. In typical fashion, our meal was to go.
