Turkish Delight and 1 Pistachio Baklava. Tea believed to be early grey

Their food was delicious and fresh! We really enjoyed their istanbul wraps, and you can sub out the meats for chicken, beef, or falafel. Their Turkish delight and baklava ARE SO GOOD! The people were so kind as well! They gave me great suggestions, were very friendly, and were just wonderful to interact with. Casual seating, seems to be lots of takeout orders too. Will come back to visit just to say hi to the nice employees again :)

What the heck is this? I ordered a spinach artichoke white pizza. This clearly has a red base and cheddar cheese.

Disgusting greasy pizza with weird toppings I did not order! Seriously some of the worst pizza I have ever tried to eat. $60 and I threw it out. Plus bought rice pudding and they gave me no spoon or way of eating it. Really upset and disappointed. Stay away! Also I ordered rice pudding. What I got was not rice pudding! It was some kind of tiramisu with coconut and pistachios and a weird chocolate pudding top!

The food was so good that I forgot to take a before picture. We ate everything. Staff isn't shy about serving sizes. We got 2 mixed kabob plate, hummus and Turkish pizza. 10/10 for me. Rice pudding is also one of the best rice puddings I've had. Not overly sweet. I'm really bad I taking photos sorry

Corner Kitchen Pizzeria is the replacement for City Pizzeria just north of the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown. The corner suite had plenty of inside seating and some sidewalk tables along Sixth Ave. At the service counter were several pizza pies that were available for sale by the slice. Besides the standard fare of pizza, salads, subs, and wings, Turkish-based food was also offered. For example in the Chef's Special category, doner and lamb shank were listed. I chose the Moussaka which was served with rice. It was a variation from the Greek style in which eggplant was sliced and fried lightly in olive oil before being layered in a casserole with a mix of ground lamb, onions, tomato sauce, seasonings, and cheese sauce. At this place, the rice came separately while the eggplant was stewed in a dish with meat and sauce. There were a couple of issues with the execution of this Turkish moussaka. First, the eggplant was bland and required more spices and flavor. Second, the amount of ground meat in the dish was paltry. A better ratio of meat to vegetables was an area of needed improvement. For $16, the portion size was mediocre. My initial feeling of ordering the doner was justified after consuming the moussaka.

Such a great place with great energy one of the employees David is awesome! I would definitely try the rice plate with chicken and beef or the pizza!

    Berlin Doner Sandwich

The corner kitchen pizzeria is a great little spot. I walked in and woman behind the corner was very nice and helpful. She recommended the Berlin Doner Sandwich and I said ok that sounds nice and yes it is very nice and has great flavor. Great service and excellent food.

I tried their lahmacun and iskender as main course, and let me tell you this: it was AMAZING. I am Turkish, and I confirm both lahmacun and iskender tasted just like the authentic versions we have in Turkey. Finding original-tasting lahmacun and iskender is incredibly hard, but this place nailed it! I also tried the ispanakli borek, kazandibi, and kadaif dessert. They were also delicious and authentic. I love that they serve Turkish tea at the end of the meal, which is again very authentic Turkish dining experience. The staff was friendly and professional. The reasturant was clean and neat. Overall, each dish was fantastic and bursting with authentic flavors. I highly recommend this place to anyone craving a taste of Turkish cuisine.

The breakfast is so amazing and flavorful!!!

This Turkish restaurant is my absolute favorite. I eat here regularly. The food is phenomenal. Get the Turkish pizza and chicken doner plates. The food is fresh and quality is amazing. Breakfast is so good too. Rarely do I crave places to eat in San Diego, but this place has a hold on me.

Our Turkish friends took us to this hidden gem. You would never know that this restaurant serves authentic Turkish food because of their name. But once you step inside you will see that they offer both Turkish/Mediterranean food as well as Pizza and salads. The owner was so nice and welcoming. He said that they will offer a bigger Turkish menu in a couple of weeks. We ordered a sampler of dips which consisted of humus, baba ganoush, Tzatziki, spicy Turkish salsa with homemade bread, Iskender Kebap, lahmacun, and kunefe. Everything was absolutely delicious. Tasted just like what I remember from Istanbul. It is a bit difficult to find parking in that area of the Gaslamp district but there is a parking lot close by. I hear during the weekdays this place is packed with customers as all the surrounding office buildings are in operation. Luckily we went on a Sat afternoon and found parking in the parking structure easily. I can't wait to return to try their more expansive menu!

We got lahmacun, doner wrap and lentil soups. Everything was tasty, fresh and just right. Lentil soups is one of the best I've ever tried.

Thought this was just a pizza place, but discovered so much more. Turkish delights await you. The lamb and okra were a must try.

The wait time for the pizzas was also way too long. The pizzas were still tasty though. - the desserts are delicious - had the tiramisu, panna cotta, and pistachio gelato. They all came out separately which isn't ideal since people typically want to enjoy all their desserts together. - was automatically charged for the 6+ group gratuity even though it we only had 5 people. would've tipped 20% anyway but found this to be sneaky... - had a 4% additional charge for "rising operating costs" - a terrible business practice that is becoming all too common

It was a Friday evening and every restaurant on the street was full and vibrant. You could Yelp these places all day long and it would be hard to choose. There's so many great restaurants around Little Italy. Mimmo's reached out and called us in. There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! It soaks up every sauce and it's just delicious. MAIN: BAKED LASAGNA (meat) - with the two appetizers this is the perfect size for both of us. No need to get one per person! It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. A solid recommendation on my part.
