This will be the weirdest review but it will be completely honest. The food, wonderful! We got the wings and Turkey sandwich and loved both however there hours are short, not catering to the area for lunch or late bites. For an area like whiskey row, people need service more than just 5-9. When calling the establishment they are also rude which is surprising coming from someone who LOVES Aloft hotels! We visited the Corner Restaurant & Bar last night for the kick off to Louisville Burger Week. I have to tell you that the Corner fell off my radar and I do not know why other than possibly being in a hotel lobby. I think it just got shifted to the bottom of my re-visit list. We had been to a Yelp event at the Aloft Hotel which was held in the Corner space. It was fabulous! I forgot about the massive and beautifully decorated space. I forgot about the many types of seating and all of the different areas you could gather with friends. I forgot about the patio and the Corner's open air concept which is really nice down in the heart of Louisville's Whiskey Row. I forgot that the Corner is a nice walk from home. I forgot how beautiful and relaxing their plants are on the patio. But enough of the exterior detail. Let's get down to the nitty gritty which is - of course - the food, the chow and in this case the BURGERS. We had a very reasonable wait. The restaurant was not packed but our server said they had been super busy for a Monday night. It looked like they were a little under staffed but our girl hustled around and owned that restaurant. We ordered their Louisville Burger week option which was a tender, juicy and full of flavor ground chicken breast infused with green chilies and brown rice topped with roasted corn salsa, tortilla strips, melted cheese blend, fire roasted tomatoes, and a southwest smoky ranch dressing all nestled between a toasted brioche bun. We also ordered beers and FRIES because that's how we roll! The burgers were absolutely fabulous! So creative. They were actually very sexy for a burger. Make sure you see the pics and wipe that drool off your chin! The burgers were big. The burgers were moist and superbly cooked. They arrived after a bit of a wait BUT they were piping hot as were those golden brown fried. I couldn't finish all of mine much to the glee of my hubby who promptly did the happy burger dance. The Corner has drink specials and happy hours and I think we will be stopping by or a more regular basis. That is all just go get one of those burgers and you'll see what I mean. read more

We stopped in Indianapolis for a few hours to get some gas and food on our road trip and I was thoroughly surprised at this place. At first we struggled to find a place for lunch but we stumbled upon Corner when we were driving through town and pulled over to check it out. The surrounding area was under a lot of construction with a few very hip restaurants neighboring it however this one seemed the most intriguing. When we got there the bartender was very kind and welcoming and we sat at the bar to eat food and get a drink. She helped us pick out some classic bourbon famous for Kentucky and we ordered the bourbon tacos and chicken sandwich. The tacos were pretty sweet but very tasty and the sandwich was incredible! You get a very big slice of chicken breast and a choice of fries or potato chips on the side. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch. It is on the lowest floor of the "aloft" hotel but it's still open to the public and very good! read more

OK. So, this is a tricky review to write. First, it is at the bottom of a hotel, so I think it is more for a traveler wanting some cocktails and food not from a drive thru. There seemed to be more bartenders than servers which makes me believe it is more for happy hour. Second, it is newly opened so I like to think there were some issues Corner is still working out. Third, there are like 3 tables, so prepare to eat at either the bar or on a coffee table. The cocktail list looked fantastic and one day I may try it. There was live music played and a the atmosphere was very hipster. The music was folky type...a guitar and a harmonica. Hopefully this is painting a picture for ya. Kelly P. ordered the beer cheese despite showing her the Yelp Reviews. She wanted to make an opinion herself, and I am glad she did. Because now, I can confidently say, DO NOT GET THE BEER CHEESE. The cheese came in a mason jar with fries. The fries were thin and tasteless. The cheese was so runny, it would not stay on the fry and ended up all down my hands. Kelly P. also order two tacos from the happy hour list. One was pork and I believe one was fish (not positive on this). Both looked fantastic. She said one tasted better than the other but both were good. I ordered the black bean burger with kettle fries. This burger was not on the menu online, but it was good. The kettle fries were not good. The fries were so salty, I could not eat them and gave most of them to Kelly P. She dipped the chips in the beer cheese and said it helped bring out some of the cheese's flavor....probably all the salt. I ended up eating the tasteless fries because it was better than the overly salted chips. I will never venture back to this place for food. However, if I am in the downtown area and need a modern, hipster place to have happy hour...I would consider this place. read more

I was staying at the Aloft so I had no excuse not to check this bar out... That being said, I'd give it a visit even if I wasn't a guest at the hotel. During my two month stay at the Aloft I consumed an ungodly amount of alcohol from the Corner and I enjoyed every gosh darn drop. If you're into whiskey drinks, ask the bartender Kendrick to make you a "CM 1812." A few of those will have you nice, sauced, and ready to commit cardinal sins. Perfect for every occasion. read more

Corner has a lovely space. It makes sense that it's located in an Aloft Hotel--it feels very hip and modern, and has a very Sex in the City vibe. It's a good, loungey place to relax and sip a cocktail (they aren't cheap, though, so keep that in mind, though their happy hour specials look pretty promising). There are couches galore, a fireplace, and a pool table. My friend and I were out looking for a place to close out our night, and we ended up here. Corner has a great patio with comfy couches and we intended to grab a drink and hang out out there. Unfortunately, the waiter we were told would eventually come out to us never came. So, instead, we got a drink at the bar inside. The kitchen was also closed by this time, so we weren't able to try the food. Our old fashioneds were decent. I would try this spot again for drinks and maybe some food, and hopefully the service will be a bit better. read more

Good pig! This casual restaurant will not disappoint. The Irish comfort food will make your taste buds happy and your stomach full. We tried the pulled pork sandwiches and fell in love the the spicy mustard-based sauce and fresh toasted buns. The kale and collard greens were perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes with Guinness gravy were delectable and had us wishing we could lick the bowl. The star side was fried corn-it was so good we ordered some to take home. Dessert was a sweet and filling seasonal (peach) cobbler. Staff was welcoming and friendly and the chef visited the table. With a location so close to the YUM center, you'd think more downtown Louisville restaurants would have major events figured out- but Corner is the only one I've seen so far that has it down perfectly. They were very conscious of our timeline and wanted to help us get in and out as quickly as possible before our concert- and they did a phenomenal job of this! Because of the streamlining process, it was a limited menu, but it was still very good food! The hostess and the waitress were both great. The food was well priced. One of the best burgers I've ever had, it's definitely in my top 3. The rosemary fries are delicious, not over-seasoned at all. A crazy number of bourbons available, not to mention local beers on draft & bottles too. The staff is super polite & really care about your experience. I'm looking at the reviews for this restaurant/bar for the first time now, and though there aren't many, the ones I'm seeing aren't very great.. I've gotta say, I recently dined at Corner Restaurant & Bar last Friday with a friend, and I thought it was pretty good. My friend warned me there were some bad reviews on Yelp before we went, but I wanted to check this place out for myself, and I'm glad I did. First, they have a pretty good happy hour. They run specials every night of the week from 5-7:00 p.m., with Friday being $5 Corner Signature Cocktails. I had the Whiskey Smash - it's Maker's 46, orange, lime, and bitters. It was fantastic! Maker's 46 is my favorite, and you don't see many restaurants/bars using it in cocktails, unless requested. And especially not in $5 cocktails! So, that was awesome. Next, they have a great happy hour "Bites" menu. I ordered two tacos from that, the Bourbon BBQ Pulled Pork Taco and the Chipotle Chicken Taco. At $3 each that was an awesome deal. The tacos were large and brimming with delicious ingredients like cabbage slaw, crispy carrots, lime aioli, and cotija cheese. I enjoyed both, but definitely like the chicken more. If I decide to have tacos at Corner again I'll be ordering two of the chicken for sure! Now, I could have stopped with the tacos. It was more than enough food. But I love beer cheese, and I wanted to try Corner's. For $7 you get an ample amount of beer cheese and a sizeable basket of fries. I see some complaints about the fries in other reviews, but I liked them. They are similar to Steak 'n Shake's fries in that they are thin and crispy. They lacked a bit of flavor for me; but, I'm someone that loves salt, so unless you salt everything you may actually like them how they're served. The beer cheese was a bit disappointing. It is thin, but with two dips I could get a generous coating on the fries, or chips, that I was eating it with. However, it was pretty bland. My friend had a burger with kettle chips, so when I used those to dip into the cheese I could taste a lot more flavor, and I think that was because the chips were salty, whereas the fries were not. So, I wouldn't recommend the beer cheese, but you should definitely check out the tacos! I wouldn't recommend Corner for a dinner or date, as it's not really a restaurant meant for that; but I would definitely recommend it for small bites, a drink before/after dinner or a show, and for happy hour. I loved the atmosphere and décor. Corner is filled with bright colors and a funky downtown hotel bar vibe, just as it should be. I'm heading back this Friday with girlfriends to try out some more cocktails and bites from that happy hour menu. Hopefully I'll like it as much, or more, than I did the first time! read more

I just so happen to stuble across this new location after a coworker and I went for Happy Hour at Impellizaris. We were walking to our car, noticed the new bar, and we both decided to go in and grab another beer. From a decor standpoint, this bar is extremely swanky. Very laid back, but almost a 20's feel to it. We sat at the bar and ordered two beers and an order of fries with beer cheese. Nothing fancy from a beer standpoint, but their Bourbon collection is fairly extensive. So for those with a more sofisticated taste, this would be a great spot to grab a drink before a Cards game. The fries and beer cheese unfortunately were a disappointment. The fries reminded me of steak n' shake fries, and the beer cheese just lacked flavor - cheese and beer-wise. What I did like was the bartender. Extremely friendly and attentive. While the bar wasn't packed, it was nice to talk in a fairly quiet environment. While I wasn't super impressed with Corner, I will still go back...at least for their bourbon supply. read more

We moved across the street and frequent Corner on quiet nights, usually Sundays. They have a great menu. My wife gets the 7 layer salad with no dressing, but gets their house made salsa; it's fantastic! I've had the burger and tacos depending on my mood and like them all. They have a super beer list including one of my favorites the Elvis Juice from Brew Dog. The bartender, Balthus, makes a mean Old Fashion! Overall, it's low key and a great place to eat and drink. Now, if it's a concert night, good luck getting a seat, but other than that, go here. read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant on July 4, as we were walking down the street. We ordered a turkey sandwich and fries, which we split, and the portions were very generous. The price was great, the food was good, and service was quick and unobtrusive. This is a good, fast place to grab lunch, and I do recommend. read more

A hotel restaurant worth a visit even if you're not staying there. Bartenders are attentive and knowledgeable mixologists.

Had to remove a star, because it should not be this difficult to find an updated menu online for a restaurant in 2019, especially one with ties to a giant hotel chain like Marriott. Anyway from what I remember we had a bacon hush puppy appetizer, which was good, and then I got an old fashioned burger. It came with rosemary kettle chips. The burger was unremarkable except for the bun, which was so delicate and fragile simply picking up the sandwich caused a complete disaster. The whole thing collapsed and broke apart so i had to pick at the pieces with a knife and fork. Service was good, if not a little over the top. Also, the set up is weird, there is a round desk in the middle of the floor which is actually the front desk to the hotel, and you actually check in to the restaurant at the bar. However nothing leads you to believe that this is the case so everyone was going to the desk first. A sign might help this little bit of poor interior design! read more

Oh this place!!!!! What a wonderful experience we had here last night. We are visiting from out of town for just a little weekend getaway. We had taken in the day visiting some of the cities attractions and took in a movie. After a disappointing meal at another restaurant we decided to come back to the hotel bar for a night cap. Well let me just tell you this will most definitely be the highlight of our trip. The bartender Chris is also the same person who crafted all of the cocktails on the menu. He is so passionate about his craft and his liquor. Immense knowledge about bourbon, whiskey and all other liquors. The other bartender Ryan is a professional mixologist and again such passion. How does one hotel bar have two of the most skilled, passionate, educated and FUN bartenders? We went off the menu and asked each time our glass was empty to surprise us with our next drink. It was a front row seat to quite the entertaining show. They seemed to truly enjoy making us drinks they love. We are here another night and sad to know they are both off. We did have the appetizer of 3 dips and chips and they were very good. Wouldn't mind coming back and try more of their food. The dessert menu looks fantastic. But, if you are in Louisville and truly want an education about bourbon and enjoy some phenomenal drinks- come here!!!!! read more

I have made going to the Corner Restaurant part of my weekly routine. I usually go on a Friday evening when they have live music. The atmosphere is great. I love to sit on their patio (weather permitting). Jackie is usually my server. After my second or 3rd time there, she had my order memorized. The staff is always attentive and the manager almost always stops by our table to make sure that we have everything we need. I am very pleased with the service that I always receive there. The food is great as well. I have tried several items on their menu, but my favorite is the Old Fashioned Burger. If you are looking for a place to eat downtown, the Corner Restaurant should be the first place you go. read more

Went for lunch as this place is in walking distance of my office. The lunch menu is reasonably prices and has large portions. I got fish tacos. The fish was fried with cornmeal breading and had really great "slaw" I guess you would call it on top that gave these tacos a great tangyness. The inside has a very modern upscale look. I was here for a large event and left with mixed feelings about this new bar. The space is fantastic and the atmosphere is really chill feeling. A nice bar top area, and seating options. The service is what was lacking to me. The first person I was able to get the attention of to try to order a drink said he couldn't and that someone would be able to help me in a minute. But he didn't inform the other bartenders that I was waiting. Despite my efforts to get the other bartenders attention, people who came up to the bar got served before me while I continued to wait. Meanwhile a friend who was initially told they could not order food at the bar saw other people ordering and receiving food at the bar. She was then able to place her order. The drinks were a little pricier, but it is a nice bar, with nicer liquor. I would be willing to give this place another try as I am trying to take the quality of service with a grain of salt as my visit her was for a large event and perhaps the servers were not prepared or staffed accordingly. read more

The bartender was very nice & personable. However, this place is disgusting. Dirty dishes from previous customers sat on the bar the entire 40 minutes we were here.
