Kentucky Bourbon KY Bourbon Barrel Ale

We were killing time before our reservation for dinner and stopped in here for a couple of drinks. It was fairly steady as you could tell they were individuals there enjoying a beverage after work. We chose to sit at one of the tables, but did have to walk up to the bar to order our drinks. When we wanted to grab an appetizer, we had to go to the bar to order it. We did see that later on they actually had people coming out to the tables to take orders. Like many locations in the Louisville area they definitely have a huge selection of bourbons and are really more of a bar type location for cocktails versus beer, wine or anything else. I did appreciate that they had a local cider available in the can and all of their beers are in cans or bottle. They have very limited beers on tap.

This bar is located in the aloft hotel. We were staying there so we wanted a quick dinner before heading in for the night. The server was great. She was very friendly and gave us recommendations. The food is bar food but good for quick service. The overall feel is trendy yet comfortable There are tvs to watch games and a pool table in the lobby area. Several small sofas are available for small groups to hang out.

    Whiskey Caramel Bread Pudding 4.5/5

Smooth old fashion smash burger, solid 4 plus /5, no condiments needed. The same apply for the Cesar salad ( 2 dollar upgrade from the fries), I am not even a Cesar salad guy. The food was salad and I got to knock another bread pudding off my list. If I try more items and they're as good as this. This place is solid 4.5 for food. Cheers

This place is attached to the hotel we stayed at while in Louisville. All the staff was amazing! Amanda was super friendly and made great drinks. There was a bluegrass band playing, and they were great! Cool atmosphere.

It's your basic hotel restaurant. Overpriced food. Overpriced beer. Limited menu. Good location, though. And at least they have some local brews on tap. I would never go out of my way to visit this establishment. But it's right across the street from my work, so what's a man to do? I'll visit on occasion. Average.

The bartenders greeted us as soon as we walked in, were friendly, explained the menu in detail and were very knowledgeable. On my first visit I opted for the seasonal Espresso Martini (Summer Martini Menu) however I wasn't a huge fan, if your an Espresso Martini connoisseur then you know everyone has a different preference in how they are made. The type of Vodka, whether they use espresso or cold brew and the type of coffee liquor. This one was made with deep Eddie vodka, espresso and Broghetti Espresso Liquor. Now with that being said, I am very much looking forward to going back to try their new Worlds Best Espresso Martini that they have collaborated with Heine Brothers coffee to create as it is a different recipe. On the second visit it was busy and the place was buzzing. They have a very unique cocktail menu and they also have extremely rare, old and almost one of a kind liquors you can get a pour of; one bottle dates back to the 30's I believe. When you walk in and are facing the bar, they are all displayed on the right hand side. My Husband tried the Smoked and Soured Four You (Michter's Bourbon | Lemon | Sugar | Smoke) which is a drink with a show! I tried a clarified cocktail ... the Espresso Spice & Everything Nice (Espresso Infused Vodka Clarified | Gingerbread Spice | Latte Foam) which was different but really good!!

Are we talking "On Heavens Gate!"…read more Yes, Bob Dylan, that inspirational author, songwriter, wordsmith, and artist has a Bourbon. Now they were looking for where to build his so called place to breathe life into it. That "it," place. It's not in Nashville, it's here in small little Louisville. What better place than an old church? Bourbon and Church! Amen! All are welcome! Now they don't make it here this is where they come to pour it and enjoy the flavors of it. Is life about the ride? How about dinner and some Heavens Bourbon made and inspired by Bob Dylan in a church. It's a must! Now this is a small venue and off the beaten track of life. What drew me? A large image of Bob Dylan on a building, mural style seemed out of place. Come to find out explore more and salut to a better version of heaven in this world of art, music, and words that have never been better than now. This is not just a church but the grounds house an art deco museum to his work. It's true dedication to the man of Bob Dylan. A Tennessee whiskey, distilled in Pleasureville, Ky. Turning an old church into a bar/restaurant always makes for a unique environment. I loved walking through the rooms and seeing all the vintage details and stained glass. The Whiskey room has quite the shock factor with floor to ceiling bottles lining the walls. No complaints to be made about the service! It felt quick and smooth! The signature cocktails we ordered were very good (not pictured)! My only disappointment was the limited menu. The menu seemed to be mostly appetizers and pizza with some additional options for entrees. We ordered the Holy Fire Dip for a starter and it was delicious! It was warm and had great flavor. The waitress did need to bring more bread, the dipping options felt sparse. My husband and I split The Burnt Offering Pizza and Sanctuary Sliders, they were both solid. We both favored the pizza but would have liked more variety. I can see why this place comes highly recommended for the experience. I would definitely come back but hope they expand the menu by then!

I was able to ask questions on the Open table app about reservation and options available at such a later dinner time. They said everything would be available except when we got there the branzino wasn't available which was fine, we didn't want it anyways. Our server Colton was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable of the menu drinks and what was available. We did end up ordering some drinks. The Gazoz (nonalcoholic) & CSA sour both great and the flavors were very pleasing. We already browsed at the menu beforehand so we went in knowing we were going to get the Shefha, I let the birthday boy make the picks we got the crispy cauliflower and og hummus with the lamb and kept everything else as is and of course we got the included dessert plus a knafeh for the birthday boy. I don't want to spoil anything, but the food was exceptional! There was no crumbs left from us, we devoured everything that was brought out. We loved all the flavors profiles and the timing of each dish was perfect. We never felt rushed or overwhelmed. Colton was excellent throughout the entire meal, checking in on us and the rest of the servers who brought out the dishes were excellent at explaining the dishes to us. Our water cups were never empty and the vibes were so relaxed and casual. We will definitely be back because we fell in love with a few dishes that we can't stop thinking about and will have to come back. Definitely for the chocolate babka!
