Staff were very friendly and very nice. I decided to try the fried tofu Pad Thai. It was delicious. I really appreciated the face they have a wide variety of vegetarian dishes for my friend who had the veggie sandwich. It is a very easy and convenient location in Clintonville so I know I'll be coming back. Just watch out for the step when you exit the door. The food is very good and the French Fries were still crispy after the 8 minutes drive back to my place. (I ordered to go) So you that means they were cooked fresh. The potato salad was perfect and the club sandwich was toasted just right and had a lot of flavor. I just think that the inside could be updated a little and when I walked in I told them I had a pickup and gave them my name. They said it'll be ready in a minute then forgot about me and another employee asked me what I was waiting for an apparently the order had been ready for a couple minutes just sitting in the back. I was able to find a street spot, but there is a small parking lot directly north of the cafe just across Longview. The inside has two dining areas with plenty of seats. The menu has quite the variety -- including both breakfast and lunch. It ranges from bagel sandwiches to deli sandwiches (hot or cold) to chicken or curry rice bowls to sushi. Oh, and they have a build your own salad bar. I opted for the Turkey Reuben -- turkey, swiss, coleslaw and thousand island on marble rye. The sandwich was delicious and only cost $6.99, which was quite the bargain considering chain cafes like Panera are charging $11-13 for sandwiches. Highly recommend trying Cornerstone, and with the huge variety of options you're bound to find something! read more

I can't tell you how many times I've driven past this place and not been in. So, I went it! Cornerstone Deli has an interesting menu that is half sandwiches (both hot and cold) and half sushi and rice bowls. So, technically, you could get a sandwich and bowl of edamame, which I think would be awesome. I ordered a vegetable sushi roll, a veggie egg roll, and some edamame. Yes, there were some in my freezer, but I was feeling hungry and impatient. Anyway, fairly quiet at 11:30 on a Wednesday, but the line grew while I was waiting for my sushi. Note that sushi is made at a different counter than the rest of the food, and will probably come out at a different time and in a different bag. So if you're ordering carry out, make sure you have both bags. The staff don't call you by name or order number, just what you ordered - I was "egg roll and edamame" So if you aren't listening closely, you may miss your order. I got home and popped open the sushi box, and wow! The roll was really big! I ate it and the edamame over 2 days. The veggies were really fresh and the avocado was just perfectly ripe. So enjoyable. The egg roll had a rather lot of peas (?) in it, so while the flavor was really good, it struck me as a little odd. And the soy beans were cooked just right, I must overcook mine, but these were really good. I had my eye on the veggie tempura, so I will for sure be back. read more

We LOVE this place and gladly make the 50 minute round trip! That said, a couple things that would make it PERFECT! Carry out: -PLEASE do away with styrofoam containers! I've been ordering food as if I'm eating in, then transfer to MY glass containers! -The last couple times the order has been inconsistent. I get the teriyaki chicken with rice-extra chicken. I think they got a shipment of anemic chickens in! A double order looks more like 1/1.5 size order. Also, the last couple times my bowl has been heavy on the rice and light on vegetables. It's a crazy concept (to me) to have sushi available at a deli; however, at Cornerstone Deli - it absolutely works! The sushi station is setup to the left of the deli station and can be easily missed. I only knew about the sushi from the Yelp reviews that I had seen which prompted my visit there. I ordered the Dragon Roll and the Rainbow Roll. Both rolls were super fresh and absolutely delish! You can seriously taste the freshness of all of the ingredients that are put together in the sushi rolls! Yum! My daughter ordered the kids' grilled cheese. The kids' menu is not listed; however, the server advised that the kids' menu consists of grilled cheese or pizza bagel bites. The kids' meals are $4.49 and also come with a bag of chips. We also ordered two bottles of root beer. We love us some root beer in a bottle! While the dining room seems pretty spacious, there are only five tables currently available for seating (due to COVID measures/restrictions). The deli seemed pretty busy while my daughter and I were there and all of the tables were full (we took the last table) - so...many of the customers had to take their sandwiches/sushi to go. Hot and delicious. Sometimes you go to a cafe and are thoroughly disappointed about the satisfaction or how filling the food is, but there are plenty of hearty options here including the pad thai. I also got the pizza bagel which, both while seasoned flavorful are more on the mild side. It doesn't leave you with a heavy feeling. It was very calm and casual-- and almost gives a hipster vibe based on how dim it is inside. Staff was also super helpful with recommendations (but also didn't give off the vibes where you HAVE to get a certain thing; I appreciate not having that pressure/guilt.) I think it'd be a great study spot if there were a few more tables. They have wifi and parking is reasonably possible to find. Overall, very surprised I haven't noticed/gone in here after driving past it daily, but this is the easiest place to say 'I'll definitely be back in the future'. read more

I feel like Cornerstone Deli & Cafe is a neighborhood institution. It has food for everyone's appetites and it can be a regular breakfast stop for some. I met a first date here to grab some lunch and eat at a nearby park. Parking in the lot next door is easy to find. Street parking is available but can be tricky if you're not comfortable with parallel parking. The line to order wasn't too long, and the tables were nearly filled with diners. We each got the mini-Italy sandwich, cans of seltzer water (they offered Bubly in fruit flavors in the 16 oz size), and bags of veggie straws. We sat down at a table and made small talk while keeping an ear out for our order. Lots of people came and went, including people who ordered after we did. I wasn't sure why it took so long. At first. At the park we unwrapped our sandwiches and it was all clear! Neither of us realized the sandwiches were from the "hot sandwich" menu. This doesn't mean they toast they bun. They griddled all of the meats inside so it was warm with the added bonus of crispy bits of meat. This gave the sandwich an extra "oomph" that sets it apart from other deli sandwiches. read more

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!! I love Poke bowl so much and Cornerstone has a very good Spicy bowl. Sometimes you don't need anything fancy or too much, just very simple! This bowl I ask for extra spicy mayo on top and on the side that's why it looks like curry :D It always comes with sushi rice (it was good), seaweed, cucumber and tuna with spicy sauce on top like zig-zag. The original looks good but I love the sauce too much. I tried so many poke bowls around Columbus. As I would have guessed from the name, they have a nice selection of sandwiches (some cold, some hot) on choice of bread or bagel, wraps, and salads. They also have a small breakfast menu featuring bagels, egg sandwiches, breakfast wraps, and the like. However, these items only make up about half the menu - the rest is dedicated to Asian style foods: miso soup, seaweed salad, several types of sushi rolls, and a larger selection of rice bowls featuring tofu, chicken, or seafood. Consequently, it may be a good option to keep in mind if your group can't settle on what to eat! We opted for buffalo chicken sandwiches on bread with fries, which we ordered ahead and did carryout for. The food was ready in the quoted time, and the very friendly staff immediately got that over to us when we arrived. The inside looked welcoming and was nicely sized for eating in. I've been trying to eat at restaurants in my soon to be old neighborhood before I move in a few weeks. Cornerstone is one of the spots I've driven by a million times but never actually stopped. Last Saturday was crazy hot outside and I wanted a cold deli sandwich. I knew they had online ordering so I quickly placed my order and headed over. There was a short, but socially distant line. The lady at the counter was friendly and wearing a mask. My order was done and I was in and out. I got the gordie special. The menu is pretty overwhelming so I landed on this. It was exactly want I wanted, a filling cold sandwich. My only gripe is that I did have to add some extra thousand island, the sandwich was a bit dry. I've been to Cornerstone a number of times, usually am getting Sammies and miso soup. I got my usual miso, a platter of sushi, seaweed salad (Wakame), a French dip for my dad, my mom got a small side of Mac salad and potato salad and the tuna melt. I usually get a lot for myself so I can spread it over a few days because I work 7 days a week and at least 15 hrs. a day. It helps. Anyhoo, my miso was great as usual, granted it's hard to screw it up. My mom was pretty shocked by the small spoonful of Mac salad, like... a legit 1/4 a cup in a small styrofoam cup. No veggies, just a sweet slaw-like dressing. It wasn't good. The potato on the other hand was baller. Her tuna melt was pretty frigging dry. How you pull that off, I have no idea. But the tuna under the cheese was dry as a bone. Very... odd. She ate a quarter and noshed the tato salad. I got into my sushi... and... well, honestly, they put WAY too much sugar into their rice. It was almost inedible. For the fact I have this huge platter now, I'm not real happy. This is my first go with their sushi, and after going to 1126 recently, I have no idea what I consumed. I'm extremely disappointed that pretty much 90% of our food was epically bad. I love Cornerstone, but my gosh... what the heck happened from my past love to now? Last time I came I also got the avalanche which is a wrap with chicken, bacon, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ranch. It was really good and big enough that I saved the other half for the next day. This is definitely a hidden gem for Asian food and sushi since it's name doesn't sound Asian at all, and their prices are really good! I didn't photograph it but I did have a bubble tea here once and I cannot say I recommend it since the bubble texture was harder than I like, but the tea itself was good.
