While visiting the area for the weekend, we ordered food to-go. Friendly staff, and the food was great! We had the caesar salad, the potato/arugula pizza (asked for no bacon), and a make our own veggie. Great crust and just cheesy enough. Nice flavors, and a bit more "gourmet" than most pizza places. The "full" size is just enough for two people if you get a salad with it. We will be back! read more

We came here after a day of traveling. It was very busy and had live music. While the service wasn't phenomenal (because it was busy), we did get our food in a timely manner and all our orders were correct, etc. The food was good, not AMAZING, but good. It hit the spot after a lot of driving through pretty underpopulated areas. They do have gluten free crust which was very appreciated (and good), it allowed our large party to all be able to eat at this location. A few members of our group got the specialty pizzas which were a bit overloaded and ended up being eaten more like a curry and less like a pizza. You could tell a lot of the customers knew each other which created a nice atmosphere. read more

The outside seating out of the Ellensburg wind is a welcome addition to restaurants options in E-burg. The music Saturday night during Rodeo weekend make it a hopping place to be. After the rodeo and fair, we needed a place to sit, drink a beer and chill after the crowds and noise. Cornerstone Pie is great for all of that. They are beyond amazing. I had a very large order (30 pizzas) on a Saturday night. The people at Cornerstone made sure they could make and deliver the pizzas for my wedding on time and with they great quality. Ever pizza was great, even the vegan and GF pizzas. After the pizzas were delivered, they called me to make sure the order was perfect (they were) and if we needed anything. I will always use them for my small and large events. read more

The pizza is always good from Cornerstone and never have a complaint. Thought it is tough times, ordering around $50 worth of pizza to be delivered shouldn't take roughly and hour and 15mins. When receiving it after that time thinking, "ok they are probably just busy which is fine", it was cold not even warm. Unless the delivery situation gets better maybe just order for carry out. Having to re-heat pizza shouldn't have to happen, unless it's the next day. read more

We stop here regularly on our way to Eastern Wa adventures and usually have a great meal. Not so on this visit. The Black and Blue pie was bland, lots of mozzarella and no hint of bleu cheese. Only a smattering of barely cooked onions and peppers strewn around the of beef (tender but chunky squares). Not at all like the pie we remembered. Arrival time: 6:25 pm. Departure time: 8:00. Monday. My son and I had dinner at Cornerstone Pie this evening. I have eaten here before and knew better than to have high expectations of the food. I go there (very infrequently) because the outdoor dining environment is lovely on a sunny evening, and they have good live music some nights. Despite my calibrated expectations, I couldn't believe how disappointing the food was tonight. I planned on having a glass of chardonnay and the "Spanish Camarones," (butterflied oven baked prawn) appetizer as an entree because I was not hungry enough for pizza. My son ordered a tempting sounding "grinder" because he was quite hungry. The dismal little cocktail dish of what tasted like boiled, then lightly torched prawns literally had two floating specs of sundried tomatoes in the pool of clear butter. The two dry crostini served alongside were, well, dry and devoid of any form of seasoning. $12. Not expensive for an appetizer, but too much for this. My son's grinder was actually a pizza crust folded in half with a wonderful pulled pork assembly inside. But, a grinder is named thusly because it is served on a "grinder roll" which is similar to a hoagie roll. If a grinder is going to be served on a folded over pizza crust instead of the expected delicious roll, the menu should say this. Secondly, since Cornerstone Pie is a pizza place, their pizza crusts should be delicious. But, this pizza crust was so overbaked that it literally cracked into pieces when my son tried to pick it up and eat it. Quite awhile after the disappointing (and slow) delivery of our entrees, our super sweet waitress came by to ask us how everything was. I told her I was disappointed with the Spanish Camarones - I had eaten only one of the 5 average-sized prawns so she could see what I was talking about. She agreed with the underwhelming assembly and offered to replace it with something else. I told her the mixed green salad would be fine. She later returned with a side-salad portion of the mixed green caprese. I had not asked for a side salad. The side salad was small, as would be expected. Nevertheless, the bowl was billowing over with greens straight from the salad mix bag. It had 3 very small (size of a quarter, and thin) partial slices of tomato and, two very small pinches of mozzarella cheese sitting on the mountain of the greens. It's true I hadn't been that hungry, but by now an hour had passed and I was hungrier than when I arrived. The salad was at least as disappointing as the Spanish Camarones. And I left hungry. My son said his method of protest in situations like this is to simply never return. While I agree, I feel customers and owners deserve to know. read more

The Carolina pizza was okay pork was dry and the it wasn't very well put together lastly it was small for a "full" pizza. The personal pizza was also pretty small even for a personal pizza. I've been to cornerstone on a few occasions and it's been ok but this was unacceptable. I went during a late afternoon and there was only one other group of people there. I ordered a Cesar salad and my friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and we waited 30 minutes. They took THIRTY MINUTES FOR A SALAD that didn't have meat in it or anything that needed to be cooked. On top of that, the waitress didn't bother to let us know it would be a wait or say sorry, but instead did not once come by our table, not even to ask for a refill on the drinks. The food was ok but the service and wait time made it awful. (Also the bathroom door handle was broken.) Very very disappointing, to say the least. read more

I DO NOT recommend Cornerstone. Tonight I wanted to treat a friend to dinner and she selected Cornerstone. While I almost asked to to pick somewhere else (based on previous poor experiences) I decided to give them yet another chance. When I arrived I asked for a table for 2. I was told "yeah find a table and come back to the counter when you want to order". Seemed a bit rude and almost felt like I was a burden on the waitress for even arriving. So... I went looking for a table. Many tables had not been cleared, or were occupied. I found a vacant table outside but it had a dirty wash rag laying on it. Seeing as how there was no one around to wait on me, and no other open tables outdoors, I wiped down the table, moved the rag and proceeded. Once we decided what we wanted to order, we went back in and did so. They waitress wanted us to pay right then... however we were celebrating a birthday we might have wanted extra drinks, or a dessert etc so I asked them to please bring the check to the table, the waitress scoffed at the inconvenience but agreed. After we ordered we returned to the table. As I watched another waitress (not ours) bring another table glasses and water I thought... ah yes our drinks and water would be nice... normally those would be received while reviewing the menu... I returned inside, and asked if we could please get out drinks and a pitcher of water. The waitress quickly scoffed at me "Yes! I'm getting it right now!" While I was already annoyed with my experience her RUDE response did not go over well with me. I explained to her that when I select a restaurant and eat out I expect to have someone seat me and at least offer me drinks sooner that 20 minutes after I arrive. When our food came the waitress literally DROPPED our plates on the table and ran away. She did not ask if we needed anything, and never returned. For the remainder of our meal she would walk through the dining room and use the side door on the building to serve the other outdoor tables so that she didn't have to walk passed our table. Another sweet young lady brought us our check and a box for my friend. She was attentive and kind. The only one there who seemed to be. I have been to Cornerstone probably 5 times in the last 3 years and each time has been a worse experience. I don't know why I continue to go back. But I won't anymore! Absolutely PITIFUL experience!! And I can't help but feel that we were treated poorly because of our more "western" attire. read more

The pizza was cold anyways and was not impressive. My friends margarita pizza was missing the basil. The cashier at the order station was slow and rude and had no idea what she was doing. This place looks amazing! They did a great job putting it together and creating something different from the rest of the town restaurants. It's gourmet so don't expect you typical delivery, great style and always appreciated. The salad was fresh and filling. And the chef obviously knows what he's doing. It is great to see something like this in this town. The beer is a nice selection if you are a fan or iron horse brewery. Crisp and went down easy. OK, I realize the place has been open only three days and you don't expect all the kinks to be worked out. Stopped in to give the place a try at about 6:30pm and it was full. Waited by the door for about ten minutes and no staff greeted us, so we finally asked and they said we should simply seat ourselves when a table was open. They seemed well staffed and everyone was busy. We finally got a seat at a table and I have to tell you the low stools they use are simply the hardest seats I have ever sat on. I'm a big guy and I literally had to get up after a while just to walk around, but even my 105lb daughter disliked them. They have a small selection of good beers on tap and a menu of a few appetizers, salads, and pizzas. Pizzas were one size and a bit too big for one, but too small for two. All the pizzas have set items; there is no 'build your own' option. Not sure why not. We thought we'd split a classic Margherita pizza; I've eaten them in Rome, so I know what to expect. We were not impressed. The pizza was a little overcooked - even for a gas-fire oven, where you expect some charring. It was salty (yes, I know fresh mozzarella is salty, but even they parts w/o cheese were too salty). There was not enough cheese. And there was a bit of a funny smell/taste. I wonder if the new oven hasn't fully burnt off that smell all new ovens have. My daughter found she had to not breathe while taking a bite. I know the owner and he's a sharp guy and I do hope that these issues will be fixed. We need a good pizza in Ellensburg. Great food, friendly staff and inviting environment. The food is fantastic! There is a great selection of classics as well as some more original pizzas. The salad was great as well as the fries and dessert (we had the cheesecake and it was amazing). They have a great selection of local beers in addition to the typical beers you would find in a pizza place. I'm excited for the patio that will be opening. It will be a great addition for those hot summer nights that are just around the corner. All in all, a wonderful place to go and something that was much needed in the area. read more

There is no better place to stop for 50 miles in any direction, and thus we always return when on the way home from some adventure beyond the Snoqualmie Pass, and are always satisfied. Always a good variety of draft beers and an incredible veggie pizza that has everything I'd ever want on it while somehow managing to still get eaten like a normal slice of pizza. The pulled pork pizza is also fantastic, if you're into that kind of thing. The service is always exceedingly friendly, and prompt. 2 pizzas + 1 appetizer is usually just enough to satisfy a group of 4 hungry climbers, but don't hesitate to order a second app if one catches your eye. read more

When we first arrived there were no signs or people greeting us, had to ask if we sit ourselves. Then we had to find a waitress when we did find a seat. The chairs were cheap stools, ones that you would find in an elementary science class. I had a hard time walking for a bit after dinner. Salad was good but expensive. Pizza was bland, burnt on the bottom, watery on top, and also kind of expensive for the size. French fries were greasy and the dipping sauces that came with them were watery and bland, wouldn't even stick to the fries. Not impressed. Probably the WORST restaurant experience I've had in a few decades! Our party of four arrived late Sunday afternoon. The place was near empty inside. We sat outside and there were two people already there. Our waitress was attentive and very good but that's the only positive thing I can say. We ordered four pizzas, one glass of wine and a pepsi. The wine and pepsi and water were served quickly. Then we sat there for an HOUR AND A HALF and still no food appeared! A few other people arrived, were served, ate and left!!! We then inquired where our food was. Another 20 plus minutes later our food arrived! What a disaster it was! We ordered four different pizzas and all were inedible. Crust was dry and tasted like cardboard. Toppings were hard to find and looked like some 12 year old randomly tossed a suggestion of the toppings on tasteless bland sauce. The worst excuse for pizza we had ever seen. Pizza Hut was gourmet dining by comparison. The gluten free veggie was particularly insulting; a completely inedible crust with a hint of a topping on tasteless smear of sauce. And then the bill! $89.00!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in Ellensburg with the group The Alley Cats performing at the fair & rodeo. We travel all over the US and eat out everyday we are on tour. Of all the places we ate in Ellensburg, by far Cornerstone was the best. I ate there 3 times in 4 days! Why? The food is creative, beautiful, and dang delicious. You can tell they are not phoning it in and take great pride in their work. Casey, the chef, is an artist! We had the pizzas, grinders, salads, and desserts. All fantastic! The service is also great! The staff is kind, eager, and knowledgeable. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed with a smile and a friendly vibe. We were excited to eat here based on the reviews. I would give the opening service 3 stars based on the number people in the restaurant and that we sat for 10 minutes as multiple wait staff walked by us not even acknowledging us. We were just getting ready to leave when some one came to the table. The food was a 4 star as the pizza was very good the unique combinations of types of pizza added to the stars. Overall the pizza was very good and the service improved as the meal continued. Might be good to acknowledge the guest once they have been seated. read more
