This place has very creative pizza combinations, and the ambiance is great. Wonderful service plus live music on the patio (on a Friday evening), and a decent variety of taps and drinks. I could see this being a great hangout. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed in the pizzas themselves. Despite the creativity of the flavors, the execution was lacking. The pizzas were incredibly greasy. I was blotting my slices with a napkin. Even my kids, who aren't the healthiest of eaters, disliked them. My son, the cheese fanatic, said there was way too much cheese on his. My husband, being too smart for that nonsense, asked for a Thai pizza without cheese or meat. Unfortunately, that meant no flavor. Basically, it was just raw veggies placed on a pizza crust. We regularly eat vegan Thai pizza from a popular chain in the area, so we know flavor is possible even without cheese and meat. Was on my way to Spokane from Seattle and was hungry as heck. Wanted something that was filling and had good taste, and would get me to my ride through to Spokane. Stopped at the John Hill Rest stop on I-90 Eastbound, as I was looking for food on Yelp. I found this place. It was just under 20 miles from the rest stop in Ellensburg. It took about 20 minutes to get there and I found it right away. I had ordered the margarita pizza. When I walked into the restaurant, the smell was amazing. The girls at the counter were so nice had my pizza waiting for me. They provided me with napkins and I was able to pick up some pepper packets and also the little cheese packets. I went out to my car, open the pizza and it was amazing looking the crust was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside and the taste of the sauce and the cheese and the basil were so yummy. Went here again three years later, and it was great again! Had the cheesy bread to start off and ordered a large firehouse, a large garlic chicken, and a large Cesar salad for all four of us. We ate everything! It was nice we could sit outside and eat in the shade since we had our two small dogs with us. The prices were a bit high for the amount of food, but it was good quality (fresh and hot). Wow this was TERRIBLE Pizza... We stopped here and grabbed a full size, half veggie, half Margherita to go last night. First off, when they say 14 inches, they don't mean a round pizza with that diameter, they mean a rectangular-ish pizza with the longer side 14 and the shorter size 8. The Margherita side had no flavor whatsoever; it was like a cheap brand store bought sauce with cheaper cheese and old basil. The veggie side just tasted foul. All it had was a crap ton of really old and smelly mushrooms. The only saving grace here was the crust; it was genuinely good, everything else was a complete disaster. $20 is a complete rip-off for that tiny, terrible thing we ate last night which I'd be ashamed to call a Pizza. Great little place to stop by for yummy food if you're passing through. We dined in and ordered a couple different personal pizzas which were good. They were a soggy sloppy mess, and I don't think they were even fully cooked. Slightly hard in the middle but blackened on the ends. Stated it comes with ketchup and "aioli". Aioli = straight up mayo. Why you callin it aioli like it's something fancy? I ate one fry and the rest went straight in the trash. Pizza: the steak & blue cheese one. It was pathetic and flavorless. Looked like it was put together by a child. Hardly any toppings. I wish I would've taken a photo. I ate it because I was starving. But I hated every dry, unsavory bite. read more

I highly recommend Cornerstone Pie! We are starting a cross country drive and rather do the usual freeway fare we decided to go into Ellensburg and found this gem of a location. The building has a cool vibe and the smells emanating from the building are divine. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was varied with vegan options. It had pizza, sandwiches, salads and more. We ordered 2 personal size pizzas (the Firehouse and Margherita) both were amazing (I forgot to take a picture) . Our kiddo liked her "grilled cheese" ( more like a calzone with cheddar cheese). And the deserts were absolutely fantastic (crème brûlée I see you) . I highly recommend this place and next time we are in the area I will come back! read more

Came to town for a friend's wedding, and got a couple pizzas for takeout - Pepperoni and Hot Honey. Both so delicious, especially the Hot Honey. I love goat cheese, and the description sounded so interesting. All the flavors blended together so well - spicy, sweet, peppery, and creamy. Highly recommend that pizza, and this spot. The restaurant was cute and the live music was fun, but Our waitress never came to check on us more than once. We waited 45 minutes just for drinks. Then went and found someone to ask about our food and found out that they misplaced it and forgot to put it in. The manager did try to help, but we were in town to meet up with family and meant to just grab a quick bite to eat, but by the time they finally got our food and we left everything was closed, so we missed meeting up with family. so i have literally never written a review before, and normally wouldn't during COVID because i realize everyone is trying their best. i also love cornerstone and think they have some of the best food for ellensburg--i'm originally from the west side and have high standards for food just because we have such a variety over there. but this was really ridiculous. i ordered a "small" caesar salad for delivery, which is base price $10. i assumed because of the price it would be like ... a decent size? i mean that's like the price of a dinner at some places. but it's literally a side salad. the caesar doesn't even come with a protein, which i added to make the delivery minimum fee of $15. with delivery cost this side salad cost me $20. i am not a large person and have small hands for scale in the photo i've attached. honestly, i'm less mad and more disappointed. i wish i had gotten a pizza or something--but i still think they need to either list the sizes of the salads or change their prices for it to be fair. i would assume most their business comes from college students like myself who aren't necessarily fat-walleted right now. anyways, don't be like me, just order a pizza or go somewhere else. read more

Relatively new business in Ellensburg, WA. and a nice stop for us to discover during our summer travels through town. Pluses included patio seating in the Ellensberg summertime (ah, dry heat!), wood fired pizza (we tried Donna's fav), fresh, generous salads and good beer on tap. They are building a small outdoor stage, so this will likely be a fun spot to hang out in the summer evenings, once they get that going, The pizzas here are individual-sized (containing eight small slices), wood fired, and have a nice chewy crust. Pizzas seemed to be inspired (shape-wise) by Serious Pie in Seattle: oblong, unique, and small. Topping options are good, but it would be nice if they did some more exploring here, as they are fairly traditional. We'd love to see them offer a kids option for cheese pizza, like most pizza spots. (The waitress let us know they do offer individual cheese pizzas from 2-5 PM, but won't make it before that time, inexplicably. An eight slice cheese pizza for our one kid was going to be too much.) As for taste, ours had a very bright, fresh, tomato sauce, fresh mozzarrela and an excellent crust. It was ready quickly and was pretty tasty. The roasted garlic on our pizza was the weak link: it was not fully roasted. This meant that the garlic flavor was sharp, and not the mellow flavor and buttery-texture you look forward to when eating roasted garlic. We had to remove some cloves, because it overwhelmed other flavors. The caesar salad had crunchy romaine and housemade croutons, but the dressing we found heavy, mayonnaise-y and garlic forward. Service was friendly, but inexperienced. I"m sure they are still getting the kinks out. Overall,we enjoyed Cornerstone. It's a spot that makes it worthwhile to pull of the side of the road in Ellensburg, take a breath, check out a beautiful historic downtown that was almost our state capitol, eat some tasty wood-fired pizza, and support a local business. read more

We decided to eat at this joint because of its casual dining and patio seatings. It is a bar vibe with plenty of seatings inside and outside. We decided to sit outside in the patio and waited to take order our food. They have a wide range of food choices, from pizza to burgers to salads. They known for their Pizza pies. We decided to ordered a combo pizza pie; The Donna's Fav & Garlic Chicken. Both pizza pies were outstanding, it is homemade. The crust is crispy, chewy and a lot of flavors but I do recommend not to put too much sauce that it would lose its crisp on the bottom. During Happy Hour $3 off a full pizza is so worth it, for this combo it was $15 for 2 people. The next time I am in this cute city, I am definitely coming back to try more of the other dishes. read more
