I highly recommend Cornerstone Therapies. My daughter receives speech therapy here. We transferred from another group that was really subpar. We have been so impressed with the high quality of the therapists here. My daughter went from no improvement over 6 months to drastic improvement in a couple of months (and much less practice needed for me to do with her at home). The therapists are all professional and incredibly knowledgeable, but also so caring and patient. The whole environment is loving and supportive. The office staff is so friendly and they've really fostered an environment where everyone feels like family. They did all the work when I needed re-authorization through my insurance. First, I left a voice mail message with no return call. I called back 5 days later and spoke with a live person. She took my information and about a week or so later, I was contacted to schedule an evaluation. After completing 12 pages of forms and 2 hours for the evaluation (which took another week to obtain a date), we were informed that Cornerstone would not schedule my son for therapy sessions until they received payment from the insurance. After being informed that they were more interested in receiving payment than they were with getting my son the help he needs, I decided to find another therapy place - one who actually wants to help people. In checking my claims data online, Cornerstone was paid right away on 10/13/20. Six weeks later and they still have not contacted me to schedule any appointments. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY. They are clearly just in it for the money and not in it to help anyone but themselves. TERRIBLE! read more

Time is of the essence. For Little ones with speech delays, time is so critical. If you guys are refusing/denying to see a toddler who's English is not a primary language, why bother to set up appointments and send documents? I have waited about 2 months for my toddlers appointment (because they were fully booked) but speech therapist called me 3 days before the appointment and tells they are denying to evaluate because English is not a primary language. This is something that the center could have informed in far advance to save everyone's time!!! read more

My son was referred to physical therapy because he has torticollis. Sandra Head has been our physical therapist and she has been amazing with my son. She was able to treat the torticollis within a month. Sandra educated us on specific techniques to practice at home and it's been very helpful. She is so sweet and patient with our boy. My daughter will be wrapping up her time at Cornerstone this week, and so it feels like good timing to write up a review and look back on the progress made. At nearly 2.5 years old, my beautiful daughter had spoken very few words and didn't do much of what other children her age do. She didn't pull me and ask for things or point to them, she struggled to communicate, and she was quite shy and clingy. She would dart towards the sidewalk without being aware of its dangers, and it would be a coin toss if telling her "no" would get her to respond. Classical attempts to raise her resulted in frustration, as her growth was certain but painfully slow. We needed help. We reached out to Orange County Regional Center, and our coordinator Kristina Whalen was professional, clear, cordial, and straight to the point. She synced us up with Cornerstone Therapies, which, as of the time of this writing, is the primary reason my wonderful daughter is catching up at amazing speed to her peers. My daughter needed OT, PT, Speech, and ABA, well basically everything. There is alot to do as a parent to make sure the therapy is consistent and that there isn't regression on skills and structures learned. All the therapists can be vouched for, all communicate my daughter's progress and incoming goals. Vania, the receptionist, is always accommodating, kind, and thorough. For the amount of random changes she has to balance, she is nothing short of a savant who doubles as a printer technician and triples as the 2nd coming of Jesus for putting up with me. All the staff at Cornerstone have given me hope that a group can be professional and actually kind and well meaning. Perhaps I've witnessed too many bad apples elsewhere. Cornerstone is an orchard of good people who bring damn fine results. My daughter may not remember the early intervention enough to appreciate it, but the wife and I certainly will. And now for more name drops. Karen the PT therapist has turned my daughter into a near athlete. Chona is a philipina goddess. Lexi is chill personified. Kayleen is amazing and brings such an energy to her work that it is always genuinely impressive. Diana is absolutely eye-poppingly thorough and always a pleasure. Andrew has a smile that makes you faint. Josh is relaxed and boss. Shalley could even get Taz the tasmanian tiger to behave and relax. Christie is sweet but assertive. We recently were assigned to Cornerstone Therapies by Regional Center for our preemie, born at 31 weeks and experiencing some minor developmental delays. First and foremost, I want to say that this has nothing to do with her occupational therapist. She was great and we loved her. This has mostly to do with the office staff who does the scheduling. The first month they called at least a week or two in advance to schedule our occupational and physical therapy appointments. However, this month they called the morning of, and said we needed to have our occupational therapy appointment that day. OK, I guess? Luckily my husband was off that day. The therapist showed up and apologized for the short notice, and my husband told her it was OK and that we need more advance notice for future appointments. Then they called again a couple weeks later, wanting to schedule her physical therapy appointment a few days later. I guess it was a little more notice, but my husband's schedule had changed and we were unable to accommodate that appointment date/time, so he asked about rescheduling. The girl on the phone was very rude, and said it was that day or nothing. Seriously? He said he could not get off work that day, and she told him "Well I guess I'm cancelling then." Wow. You guys realize you're supposed to be helping babies, right? My other complaint is, when the physical therapist came out last month, she stated our baby was delayed with a couple things and that she would email us a bunch of exercises we could do with her. We never received anything, and mentioned it to the occupational therapist when she came out for that same day appointment. She said she would get the info to us, and also never sent anything. We called Regional to complain that Cornerstone is unwilling to work with our schedule, and they immediately assigned us to another therapy group. Although this will probably resolve our issues, I'm hoping that Cornerstone will deal with their rude schedulers and follow up issues, for the sake of anyone who uses their services in the future. read more

My son just graduated yesterday from speech therapy at Cornerstone. We feel so grateful to have been with this team and especially Ms. Melissa. We had a very rough and confusing road the majority of our son's life trying to figure out what was wrong with his speech and where to find good care. When we finally ended up here we felt we could get started doing that for him. The owner and therapists all are so sweet and caring about the students and we really appreciated that. But even more so they were so much more knowledgeable about the specialty areas and treatments that many other places had no idea about. Melissa was a complete angel from Day 1 and helped diagnose him and really provide the correct specialized treatment plan. I'm so grateful she fought to find the newest information on Prompt training and on what would be most effective for River, even through zoom sessions and doing house visits. She was so good at teaching me how to work with him on my own. She was so good at keeping him focused but not having him get burnt out (something we always struggle with). We just wanted to affirm the Cornerstone team and especially Melissa. She's a true find. Thank you for doing what you do and staying available to our son even through the Pandemic and lockdowns. 6 months ago we noticed that our 2 year old son was not picking up on words like he should be. We took him to Cornerstone for a speech evaluation by Nina who confirmed that he was a little behind in his language. Since then we have taken him in for therapy once a week and his speech has grown immensely! Nina is amazing with him and he looks forward to his time with "Mrs Nina" every week. It's with a somewhat of heavy heart that I write this. It's been almost 6 months since my son was at cornerstone. He first went for issues he was having with eating. We were referred by my insurance. Our therapist was nice and worked well with my son. When he turned 18 months and wasn't saying too many words she said that we should have him tested. My son had hit and was continuing to reach all of his proper milestones and in the right time frame. But I had him evaluated anyway by the regional center. That person came to our house and did the evaluation there and he passed. That therapist then said since your insurance will pay for it have cornerstone do one too. So I did. That's where I felt things went wrong. First all it's a 3 hour test maybe 2.5 hours. That's way too long I feel to evaluate anyone let alone a small child. I wasn't able to breastfeed or feed him any snacks. And the therapist who were conducting the tests feel more like used car sales men then therapist. They told me my son needs this kind of therapy and then that kind of therapy. If anyone were to meet him they can see he's a "normal" functioning toddler. But they made it seem like he has several set backs. I took him to the pediatrician and she said he's a very "normal" toddler. So I ask what was cornerstone thinking? Why would a so called quality therapy group say that my now twice evaluate son need all this therapy. And there's my issue with cornerstone. I know they do great things for families and other children but are their intentions are always in the right place? Do they suggest therapy so they can bill insurance companies and families? This I don't know. What I do know as a parent nobody knows their child better than themselves . Trust your gut and follow your own compass. read more

Cornerstone Therapies has been amazing in the evaluation and treatment/ therapy of my Granddaughter! When we first started having questions about her delay in speech and social anxiety, we decided to get her evaluated by the best in our area, Cornerstone. Her evaluation was done by kind, compassionate and obviously well educated therapists who were very caring to not "label" her or increase the anxiety in Mom or me! Not knowing if we were right in our own "instinct"concerns, I felt that Cornerstone staff from the front office to the actual treating therapists were very adept at recognizing the need for my Granddaughter to have Speech, OT and PT with the encouragement and positive support that carried her through her entire treatment plan. I am happy to say that our girl is doing amazing! We as a family have also been "coached" how to help her at home and the result is that we now have a happy healthy, fully integrated fun and social little 5 year old. Our son was born with a visual impairment and was having a bit of a hard time at first. We were able to find great doctors and the best therapists we could ask for at Cornerstone. Ms. Charlotte has made a huge difference for our son! She sets goals for him and works towards each goal every week. She also sets new ones when he is making progress and gives home assignments. The center has been treating my granddaughter for some time and she has made great progress...The people have been wonderful ... An important point is that they have brought up issues that needed to be identified by her doctors...They brought up the possibility of vision issues and sure enough it turns out she needs glasses.....The identification of this issue(& others) now will have a big , positive impact on her progress...It's comforting/reassuring that they are always looking out for her well-being ...I believe they truly care about her and her progress... It should be noted that her doctor(Kaiser,) had been asked about this(vision) and had failed to ID a problem...The doctors initially failed to find several issues....Only after much pressure did they test her... Thank goodness for Cornerstone's experience in this complex field....Their concerns spurred the discovery/identification of several issues.... They have to deal with parents in denial that their child has a problem .It seems they(parents) sometimes want to make out Cornerstone to be at fault , instead of facing the truth that their child has a problem..Who wants to face the painful fact that their child has issues? I would take any complaints about Cornerstone with a grain of salt, with skepticism for that reason... The old saying ...."kill the messenger "...applies.. A couple side notes: the regional center is ok but their staff quality varies a lot.... Kaiser is fine if your child is well but if you think your child has complex issues, you may want to change insurance if you can...They were always sloughing off , dismissing our concerns... read more

Cornerstone Therapies is an amazing place where kids are helped in miraculous ways. Two of my daughters received therapy at Cornerstone. My oldest daughter was diagnosed with Autism at age 2 and received physical therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, and speech for 8 years. During her time at Cornerstone, she went from 10 words to a "typical" vocabulary of kids her age. She learned to walk, run, hop, balance, and ride a bike. She also learned to dribble a ball and throw with accuracy. Looking back I am so grateful for the love of each therapist and the help she received at Cornerstone. Without the help of wise women like Charlotte Feitchmann and Nina Welch, I don't know where Alicia would be today. My other daughter also had some delays physically. She received physical and occupational therapy for about a year. She learned to walk at Cornerstone, and caught up very quickly. Now Katie is one of the most athletic girls I know, and I thank Cornerstone and the therapists that influenced her life. Overall my experience with Cornerstone has always been positive from the front office to the therapists to the bill department. This is just a great place. read more

Billing dept is shady!!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE USING INSURANCE!! My son has been seen for OT therapy since July 2016. 6 months later, I get a call saying that my original co pay was wrong and that I owed the difference which ends up being $360. To top it off, they charged my card without telling me and then proceed to call and say I owe them money and they'll do it in installments. The billing dept made a mistake, won't admit it, and is making me pay without telling me. SHADY!! I'm taking this to my insurance and filing a formal complaint read more

The only place I would have therapy is at Cornerstone Therapies I took my son there for therapy also and now he is a fully functional adult who teaches Calculus. My twins were born prematurely at just 29 weeks. My son was only 2 lbs 14 oz & they both were in the NICU for 2 1/2 months before we could bring them home. They were both followed closely by specialists & it was obvious that my son needed therapy for delays. My daughter seemed to have no issues at all. Cornerstone came highly recommend. I have to say that the standard of care my son received exceeded our expectations. I was blown away at how involved everyone was in helping us. To be honest I really wondered how he would ever improve & now my son has improved at a level we never dreamed. Most people don't even know he had limitations at all. We have since moved out of the area & I miss the personalized service of the staff & the standard of care he received from the therapists at Cornerstone.
