The service at this spot has been iffy every time I've been in, but a recent visit will be my last. We asked for the music (death metal) to be turned down. As is their right, they declined. As is also their right, but not at all cool, they instead turned the music up--way up. I was there with a large group, most of whom I don't know well at all, many of whom I met that night. Shortly after the music was turned up, we all decided not to get another round, which we otherwise would have, and soon after that I decided to leave. As I tried to leave I was accosted at the door by *three* members of the staff who were angry with something someone else in our group had else had apparently said on his way out, and yelling at me about it. I am not responsible for what anyone else might say or do, and I very much did not appreciate being blamed for anyone else's behavior, nor did I appreciate the whole vibe of the staff acting as if our very presence was an imposition and our money not good enough for them. read more

Will not be returning, the service here is awful. The hostess was great but once we got sat and our server came around, she was not good. I don't know if she forgot to put in our order or something, but we finally flagged her down and we asked about our food after waiting for 50 min. She gave us a snarky look and became super short with us after. Once the food finally came, she basically slammed the food down in our faces and said enjoy! with a sarcastic tone and smirk. We paid with cash and expected change back, she took the cash, scuffed, and never returned. We waited 20 minutes for our change and just decided to leave. She acted like we spit in her face like she wasn't basically doing the same thing the whole time we were there. We have several of these in Phoenix where we live, but didn't make it into one until we were looking for a dog friendly place for lunch in Flagstaff. Given it was a Tuesday in August it was no surprise that they were not busy. Our server took our drink orders and gave us some advice on food. We went with the Oggie, roasted potatoes and sliced bread. We were very happy with the potatoes and the pasty. Both were freshly cooked and very tasty. The bread was ok, but just really plain bread. I'm sure it was fresh baked, but the breeze dried the slices out quickly and there just wasn't much to like or dislike as far as flavor. We surely will start going to the ones back in Phoenix to try other things. read more

This was our second visit to Cornish Pasty Co, and there's a reason why we'll come back for a third visit next time we are in Flagstaff. The pasties here are perfect for a cold winter day. They arrive steaming hot in a perfectly buttery crust, with fanatics sides as well. The Pilgrim was a highlight, which was essentially a Christmas dinner baked into a pasty. As a bar, this place is great. They have a nice selection of beers and liquor. The beers are priced well. They serve pitchers. The bartenders are quick and attentive. As a restaurant, this place is also great! I tried 3 different pasties and loved them all! They are heavy meals but so damn good! We tried the Shepherds pie, chicken tikka, and chicken pot pies. The pastry is so soft and flaky! So good I actually went here twice! The place is big so it's great for large groups. It has a pool table and an outdoor patio! Food here is pretty good, service is terrible. We ordered by phone and went to pick it up. Despite having only one table in the restaurant and no other orders, our order had never been sent to the kitchen. We agreed to wait while they made our order. We got home with the order only to realize the order was not correct despite literally ordering twice at that point. It's a shame because as I say the food is good, but for what it costs to eat out in flagstaff, people are going to start scrutinizing service much more than they have in the past. We popped in to have lunch here on the way to Grand Canyon and were super impressed with the vegetarian/vegan selection! We had a group of five and two of us don't eat meat so we like to find places both the meat eaters and the plant based people will find options. We definitely found that here! Our waitress was super sweet and friendly. We were able to be in and out within an hour I believe. I got the vegan cubano which was pretty good. I've never had a cubano vegan or non vegan so I unfortunately don't have anything to compare it to. The other two people I was dining with got the veggie Shepard pie pasty I believe? Smash hit. Poldark fans will appreciate this place--no doubt. They offer an extensive selection of pastys. I had the traditional Cornish 'Pasty' and I was not disappointed. Flakey, tender and savory crust encasing a mixture of beef and potatoes. The pastys are served with a matched dipping sauce, Mine came with British brown sauce--a less tangy version of Worcestershire sauce. I ordered the mushy peas and they were quite good. I walked in with a 7-hour-long hunger and I couldn't finish it. Well, being a rank amateur, I also ordered the 34 ounce Oak Creek Amber Ale--HUGE and HEAVY! unfortunately, our experience at this location was pretty average at best and to us not at all worth the cost of them for what you are getting. the ambiance was pretty cool with a moody interior and a cool patio space. Except for the heaters...they were pretty ineffective to keep the area warm. our server was nice but she was MIA for a good portion of our time there. We all ordered unique options so that we could taste a variety of pasties: Shepard pie, Cajun chicken, chicken tikka masala, and cottage pie. All of these aforementioned choices were okay and nothing special at all...they actually lacked a lot of flavors that we were expecting and two of them came out cold. overall, maybe it was an off night or other locations are better but we would not return. xx read more

I would not go back and would not recommend this restaurant, and here is why: 1. When we tried to order any of FOUR pasty choices, we were told, "Sorry, we're out of that." At one point, our waitress actually said, "Maybe I should just read off what we DO have." 2. We ordered a Greek salad to share. After quite a long time, the salad was delivered - at the same time as our entrees. Huh? But here's the worst: it was not a Greek salad. It was a basic mixed salad, which is fine, but not what we wanted. When I brought this up to the waitress, she tried to say that it WAS a Greek salad I asked her where the black olives were, never mind other ingredients. She then asked the folks in the kitchen, came back to our table and said, "They didn't have black olives, so they just substituted another salad. They should have told me!" We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch here on Sunday! We had walked past the night before and it looked like quite a lively scene, but it was nice and quiet when we arrived for brunch. We were the only patrons as we got there when they opened at 11AM, so we had the staff's undivided attention. The interior is great; I loved all of the wood and the wallpaper made me feel like I was in a British pub. They also have a patio and outdoor seating. We had a pot of tea, the English breakfast pasty with HP sauce, and the Greek pasty with tzaziki (sp??) sauce. The fillings were plentiful and delightfully savory. When you first walk in it feels very similar to the Mesa Cornish Pasty but that is where it ends. I've never been to a restaurant that have started to run out of food at 2pm on a Saturday in a collage/ vacation town. They seem to be severely lacking in servers. However the service is good! The waitress was on the ball and very attentive especially since it was just her. The food is just as good as the mesa location which in my opinion is the gold standard of the franchise. All in all the Flagstaff location is okay however not very reliable especially if you're wanting a certain type of food or sauce they may be out which is a shame. read more

Waitress never notified me when various menu items I ordered were out of stock (both a beer and pasty) until I followed up after waiting quite a while ... should probably deduct a star, but I am feeling generous tonight. I settled for The Pilgrim, my secondary pasty option. It was quite large, and the crust was fantastic!! Could have used more turkey inside which was also overly rosemary forward.
