While have one late night in Flagstaff, we looked for a place to grab a bite to eat. As one place was closing, they suggested the Cornish Pasty Company. We were a party of 7 showing up after 9PM- any restaurants worst nightmare. However, we were greeted so kindly! The boys ordered beers and my daughter and I, a fun drink! The place looked like an re-purposed church, can I have an Amen . We sat in pews, which is perfect for a large group. People around us were playing dice at their table, heavy music played in the background-the boys loved it. Our waiter was more than accommodating. We did not know what a "pasty" was, so he gave us a brief description. If I were to tell you, I'd say it's a cross between a hot pocket and a calzone. Many selections. I chose the Mexican. The tough part was, mine came after everyone else had eaten theirs. So it was tough to enjoy while everyone else was ready to call it a night. I took 2 pics of the fun drink my daughter and I chose. My wife & I arrived on St. Patrick's Day. It didn't take long for us to be greeted or seated. Despite how busy they were, we both felt seen and cared for by the staff. Cornish Pasty in Tempe is a favorite destination for some comfort food. The Rosemary steak is tasty but the Carne Adovada Meat Pies is my absolute favorite. They have a nice chill patio area where you can bring your dog. Good food and service is the reason I come back again and again. read more

Stopped in Flagstaff for the night on a drive to Monterey California looking for something open late with outdoor seating for the dogs. I'm so glad to have found this pub! We were able to enjoy a delicious meal and drinks. The staff was awesome and helped us make some food choices since it was late and they had a busy day with everyone returning for school.. This place is hopping with the local energy and good vibe's. The outdoor patio was cozy and lit up with lots of plants and flowers, very inviting! This place is a gem. If I could have licked my plate I would have. The roast beef pasty was amazing. The roast beef is perfect, tender, flavorful, and made in house. It came with big chunks of red and green peppers and portobello mushrooms in a nice gravy sauce. It was perfect. Toasty outside and slightly soft dough inside. Fun place to stop by for food or for nightlife. I love coming in and getting a couple car bombs and a pasty every now and then. Service is usually pretty good here in my experiences, not a fan of death metal & screamo blasting later at night but oh well I can't complain about some free pool and decently priced food and drinks. read more

My friend and I were visiting Flagstaff for a couple nights and we came here for dinner on both nights! The first night we both got the chicken pot pie pasty and it was very good and very filling! I couldn't even finish it. The second night I got the greek pasty and that one was also delicious, I think I liked it a little more than the chicken pot pie one. They both came out piping hot. We also ordered drinks at the bar and they were very good. On both nights I also got the mystic mexican mule which had dragonfruit syrup. We were even able to play some pool table which was fun! This review is for the 2 flavor combos we ordered. I ordered the meat and cheese and just wasn't a fan of the flavor of house sausage. It felt like something was missing from the pasty -I had to eat it with the ketchup to taste better :(. My sister ordered the sirloin, and it was better than mine, but still not a fan. The pastry part was flaky and had good flavor. We really wanted to try the Italian, but they were out of those. I would go back and try other flavor combos. Spectacular. I ordered a cup of tomato cream soup (came with house made croutons in the soup, and 2 slices of house made bread). It's the best tomato soup I've ever had in my life!!! The flavor was amazing! And the bread and croutons were perfect!!! Then I got a Scotch egg. Amazing!!!! Comes on a bed of greens, with honey mustard sauce. It was perfection! Then I got the Shepherd's pie pasty and it was incredible. The bartender who served me was amazing (a beautiful woman, from Germany). She was so friendly and helpful! My family really likes this place, and having a few great Gluten Free Options is a big deal to me. We grabbed some orders of the Tandoori Wings, and they sure were tasty. They came with a tzatiki sauce. We could have used some side plates to share, otherwise we used napkins as plates for the wings. We ordered drinks and food, some car bombs, Irish coffees and beers. Food arrived relatively quickly for 8 people. The feed back I received was the Carne Adobo pasty was very spicy. The Reuben Pasty, delivered. The Portobello Pasty was a favorite. Pilgrim was like a Thanksgiving dinner, stuffing, cranberry sauce, the whole works. Gluten Free Beet Salad with Chicken was good, loads of beets and mozzarella cheese was awesome, but the chicken was bland this time. I've had the chicken Tikka Masala Salad and it was tasty and filling (and Gluten Free). Over all the food was enjoyed, we even got some PBJ Pasty, Banoffee Pie and the Strawberry Meringue to go for dessert! Dropped by Cornish Pasty on a weekend around 2:00 pm and was a bit surprised at how empty it was; but hey, I'm not going to complain about the lack of a wait time lolol We were seated pretty quickly and I was initially thrown off by the plethora of vegan and vegetarian options yay! -- Also definitely not something to complain about as I usually have a grand 3-4 options to choose from. I wanted something particularly flavorful so I went with the veggie spicy asiago chicken and boy did it deliver! It also came with a side of salsa and sour cream which upped the flavor even more. Portions are the perfect size for that late lunch/snack type of mood and the pasties are delicious all around. Ambience is fun, though the music was quite loud. We didn't mind. My Guiness stew pasty was fairly amazing, as was my daughter's tikka masala. The pastry was a lovely texture and the flavor just right. The fillings in other two pasties we got were fine, but not great. The oven chips were tasty, but the garlic mashed potatoes were dried out from broiling the cheese on top, and too heavy on the garlic for my taste. The red wine gravy was nice, but the flavors didn't seem to blend well with anything it came served with. All in all, a fun experience for something different, but inconsistent. I hadn't been here in a long time so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm so glad I spontaneously decided to go there for dinner! We had the chicken liver paté with bread and red onion marmalade, which sounds so weird but was delicious! It's definitely an experience, for sure. The paté had a strong flavor, so a little goes a long way! We also had the shepherd's pie and spicy Asiago chicken pasties! Both were flavorful and perfectly cooked! Along with our meal we had two cocktails that were strong and refreshing - perfect for a late summer evening. We rounded out our dinner with sticky toffee pudding and creme anglaise. It was soooooo good! This place was so fun and really big! It's a chain so locations throughout the state. They have a giant menu fill of.different pies!! Also have vegetarian ones which store owners actually recommend to us. The beer selection was nice and they have different specials each day. Ahhh! Love love love this place. A super different style of food and GREAT ambiance. It's perfect for either a date night or a night out with friends. Their menu is huge, and I highly recommend the Chicken Pot Pie pasty. The service is either great or mediocre, depending on which waiter/waitress you get. I've had great experiences and just okay experiences with the service. Overall, I definitely suggest stopping in this place while you're in flagstaff for something a bit different a totally fun. I'm not a really big eater, so I ate 1/2 and the hunk I was with ate the rest of it and his own lamb & mint pasty. I had a bit of that one and it was just so-so, bland and no flavor. They have happy hour specials all the time and the night I was here, it was maybe $6 cans or something. A decent bar to get drinks and have some solid food for more drinking later. Fun and interesting interior, the menu offers a large selection of comfort food with a number of their specialties- different kinds of pasty's refined to an art form. Since I'm GF, I couldn't try any of the various pasty's that the other 6 people in my party had, but they all seemed to love it. The potato leek soup everyone raved about. I started with a great Cole slaw and then my main was Tandoori Chicken Wings. These wings were excellent. The salmon salad was great and I finished with an enormous meringue and strawberry whipped cream concoction that I actually finished completely, much to my stomach's chagrin.
