Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this veterinary office. I had no problem with the vet going over his recommendations for my dog, including X-rays, anesthesia, and other treatment options. I understand that it is his responsibility to explain what he believes is needed. My issue was what happened after I chose not to move forward with everything recommended. I decided to only get the allergy medication and ear cleaning, and each time the veterinary assistant left the room, I could hear her discussing my decision with someone outside. I heard comments such as "shes not wanting the tests" "I know" and "Aww, I know" regarding me not getting everything on the list. A pet owner should be able to decide which services they want to move forward with without feeling judged or having their choices discussed right outside the room. I thought I heard him wrong, but nope. Total came to nearly $1,000. and his office never once followed up to see how my cat was doing. Avoid this place at all costs if your pet is sick. I then took my cat to Animal Care Services in Norco (3119 Hamner Ave) and the difference in care was night and day. Vet Bryan Kim was incredible and compassionate, as was his entire staff. They took in my baby with a very complexed surgery. She had a huge mass attached to her jawline and it was growing progressively. Many vets didn't want to touch and a specialist vet who quoted me more than $7k for the surgery Dr. Ivan assured me he would take care of my bella and he did it for more than half of what the specialist hospital quoted me and it included dental work and biopsy. Everything was basically what you'd expect from a veterinarian, but I will say one thing that left a bad impression was - we found this hospital through Yelp, and they offer a coupon (as of the current date / time of August 8) for new customers. We were up front that we found them through Yelp and wanted to use it, but were suddenly told it was not being honored. I felt this was misleading and a little shady, so I'm mentioning it here in case anyone else thought of using the coupon. I've been to this clinic few times with my Pomeranian dogs. Dr. Ivan is an amazing doctor, always helpful and professional. Some reviews write about cleanliness of this clinic, but other vet's clinics don't even let you inside, they just pick up your dog and let you seat and wait in your car on their parking lot, so you have no idea what's happening inside another vets clinics. Brought in our very anxious Shih-tzu after reading they offer no-appointment vaccination hours (yes I procrastinated and we needed to renew a license pronto). I called to confirm they would admit our little poop-machine since I'd be arriving about 15 minutes before vaccine hours ended; they confirmed they'd take her in and I'm so glad we did. We arrived to a small location that was absent of bells and whistles, but was busy with pets and pet parents in the waiting area. I completed a brief info sheet and proceeded to pay the exact amount I was quoted over the phone ($13 for a 3yr rabbies shot and $13 for a 1yr DHPP shot at the time of this review). Next they attempted to take her back into a room to administer the shots, but our little anxiety monster wasn't having it. The staff offered if I wanted to hold her instead and she could bring the shots out to the waiting area to avoid added anxiety (by then the waiting area was cleared of all other visitors, so not sure she could have offered that during a busier time). One shot was on her thigh and another about mid back, but my dog didn't even flinch for either one! We were both surprised because she was super anxious just a minute earlier and she usually tries to squirm away. We spent about 30 minutes from start to finish (I know, amazing right?) and while nobody seemed rushed, the staff were brief in the few interactions I observed (which I totally appreciate especially if I would have been short on time). I can deal with the judgement from some of the staff when you don't magically have $5,000 on you when they tell you how expensive a life saving surgery will be, but I can't deal with incompetence & lack of empathy from the Vet. Great vet, but the phone/message system for this place has always sucked, even before COVID-19. You can never get through, nobody ever answers, and if you try the other menu options all of the mailboxes are full. My recommendation is to have someone answer the phone and ask if callers can hold, that way callers are aware that there are living beings in the establishment and that they are just busy rather than the place just being closed. I'd rather be on hold for a while than looped back to the same stupid call menu a hundred times. read more

I've been here before with my older dog and told myself I would never come back after the hefty bill I got for the medical attention I received. But here I am, finding myself at this place earlier this week. My Yorkie seemed to have gotten a foxtail stuck in her ear, was in a lot of discomfort, and this was the only vet clinic/hospital that was able to take her in that same day. We walked in check in was easy, when we get taken into the exam room vet comes in takes a look in her ear and says "yup she has something in her ear" he begins to stay that I have to leave my dog there for about an hour, she was going to need gas anesthesia to put her to sleep. My husband and I did our research online to see what this procedure was like and didn't come across a video that required them to put my dog to sleep(I know we can't believe everything on Dr. Google) we tell the Vet that we've seen videos and read about going a different route, he immediately seemed bothered and said "thats not how we do it here" based off of his tone we felt uneasy about the situation and asked how much this would run. He said he was going to have someone from the front bring us an estimate. The girls from the front came and showed me the estimate it came out to $723!!!! My husband and I discussed it and decided we would pay for the exam fee($40) and get a second opinion. I took my dog today to a different vet in Chino and I'm so glad I did. All my questions and concerns were answered they treated my dog with so much love checked not just one ear but both ears, temperature, eyes, teeth, heart, etc. when the vet looked in her ear, he couldn't see anything in there but what he did notice was liquid, he recommended draining the ear and have another set of eyes take a look. They took my babygirl to the back, doc came out and showed me he had pulled out the foxtail WITHOUT ANY ANESTHESIA, WITHOUT HAVING TO PUT MY BABY OUT!!! I've gone here before for vaccines for my first puppy so I came back for an initial puppy check up for my 8 week Belgian Malinois. When I was brought to the room they weighed him and I waited for the vet. He literally came in and looked at him and started petting him and said "well he looks healthy, do you have any questions?". He didn't even EXAM him. They did a stool sample to inspect him for parasites and then he tried to give my puppy 3 medications for his stomach which I don't even know why. I declined the medication and was left to pay $100 for a useless check up. It felt like he was more interested trying to sell me things than actually examining my new puppy. I ended up going to a different vet and they actually checked his ears, teeth, heart, etc and told me conflicting information that the initial vet told me. I'll never go back to this place. Dr Ivan gave her 4 different antibiotics and 2 different pain/anti inflammatory meds. Didn't even want to consider allergies. Little excessive! Once on all those meds she would not eat, had no energy and still has eye goop a week later. So he misdiagnosed and over medicated/over charged. read more
