The cook needs to learn how to cook steak. I ordered a 12 oz New York steak medium well done....waited more than 30 mins only to end up with a dried WELL DONE steak. Even my daughter said it doesn't have any taste because it was so overcooked. It's the worse steak I've ever had in my entire life. I know this review probably won't matter BUT the cook needs improvement. This is the worse steak I've had and it's $30.95!!!! Outback has a 6 oz steak that's worth $30.95. The server never even checked on us except when to drop off the receipt to pay. She never even ask if we wanted dessert and my daughter wanted dessert. Our group wanted prime rib after a day of bowling, so we decided to try this place because they offered a good deal as well as other food for other members of the party. We were immediately sat even with a fairly full house. Once we were seated a lady was very quick to take our drink orders. Then our waitress (I believe her name was Cecilia) took our orders. She was very friendly, attentive and professional. I opted for the Prime Rib Special which comes with a 10 oz cut, choice of vegetable (I chose baked potato) and soup or salad (I opted for salad). Once everything was delivered, everything was prepared well and tasted good. The prime rib was provided as requested and had a nice seasoning crust. I come here for French Onion Soup. I sit at the counter. I don't know if this is true, but I don't doubt it: I was told it's the soup that they use upstairs in the higher end restaurants. To me, it's that good. I can tell by the depth of the broth that really take their time with the onions. It's topped off with delicious bread and a healthy layer of cheese that gets broiled to an oooey, gooey goodness. I don't recall the price, but it's very reasonable. They have a huge menu- something for everyone. Late night specials, breakfast all day, even a Chinese menu! For me, the French Onion Soup is comforting and good for the soul. 10/10. read more

While on vacation in Vegas, my family and I decided to watch a movie in the Century Theaters which is conveniently located at the South Point Hotel. After watching the late night showing, we checked out the Coronado Cafe since it is open for 24 hours. Surprisingly, there was a long line at 1am and it took 15 minutes to reach the hostess desk. Fortunately, it took a few minutes to get seated and a server attended to us promptly. Looking through the menu, the Late Nite specials section caught my attention due to the prices that ranged from $2.95 to $6.45. Some of the items were two-egg breakfast plates, pancakes plate, or a cheeseburger meal. I thought to myself, when's the next time I'll get to order a hearty breakfast for such a low price? So, I ordered the 7 oz New York Steak plate which came with two eggs, hash browns, and toast. For the steak, I requested medium rare. I also asked for my eggs to be cooked over-hard and chose sourdough toast. When our food arrived, I liked how enthusiastic our server was despite working the graveyard shift. I also appreciate how my steak was cooked correctly and how the toast were buttered. But, I do wish the hash browns were more crispy. Since it was a huge portion, I ended up taking my leftover to go. I recommend this place if you want to experience cheap eats in a location that's off of the Las Vegas Strip. read more

Dining here again with friends, I opened with Wonton Soup, which was a very good choice. But then I decided to go the rest of the way with the regular menu, and, boy, was I disappointed with the result. I ordered Country Fried Steak, which came with Mashed Potatoes and Country Gravy, a few vegetables from the squash and zucchini family, and a roll without any butter. The Mashed Potatoes were fine, the Country Gravy excellent, and the vegetables overcooked but okay. Not so for the Country Fried Steak, which was likely the worst I have ever attempted to eat. Once it emerged from its coating of gravy, the large speckled patty was very poorly breaded, greatly overcooked, and the meat as tough as I imagine shoe leather would be if I tried to eat it. During attempts to cut through it, the dense beef seemed like it was consciously fighting against the knife. The included salad with French Dressing was fine, but nothing special. I have long been a fan of this place but now realize that items from the Chinese menu have always been consistently excellent, but I have had little familiarity with offerings from the regular menu. My bowl of Wonton Soup included three dumplings and was packed with more lean pork than I needed. The broth was very hot, and the entire concoction quite tasty. Just so, the three other diners at my booth all voiced their approval of the Chinese dishes they ordered: Mongolian Chicken, Orange Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Fried Rice. I will continue to dine here, but will be likely not to tread far from the several offerings that appear on the superior Chinese menu. For, the Coronado Cafe consistently turns out outstanding Cantonese fare that can hold its own pitted against any of the several fine restaurants in Las Vegas that are solely dedicated to cooking and serving only Chinese food. read more

During our Girls trip to Vegas we went off strip to the South Point Casino and Resort. We came specifically to try Bingo Vegas style and of course we needed to fuel up on some breakfast! I saw a Hawaiian classic and was excited to try it - the Loco Moco! I'd seen it vlogged on Bill and Lisa's YouTube channel so my breakfast choice was easy. This is a beef patty, smothered in a tasty brown gravy over rice topped with eggs - sunny side up for me. A very hearty meal and delicious! My compadres had the avocado toast and a breakfast burrito. South point Coronado Cafe, I went there last night, there is a servicer name Juese, he's an Asian looking old man. He ask my wife id and point out saids she has to be 21 years old to having steak and eggs special. It first I don't feel anything wrong, until I turn around, there is a teenage kid, I'm very positive he's under 21 with he's dad. Few minutes after Juese delivered their steak and eggs on their table without no question. So, if there is a policy saids that has to be 21 years old to eat, why the teenager behind me can get served? If it don't really matter, why my wife get id checked? Honestly, we were going to go to the buffet, but the line was way to long for us, so we tried this place because, well, it was there. We were seating within 5 minutes in a nice booth towards the back. While it's definitely an American Cafe, they had a large selection of Asian food, mostly Chinese. There was even an insert in the menu for additional Chinese selections. Service was on par with what you except for a place like this. The prices were fairly reasonable, especially after coming from 3 days on the strip. They had one my favorites, an open face turkey sandwich. It came with a good portion of turkey which filled me up. So much so, that I didn't even notice if it was on top of bread. I think is was as I saw something the resembled bread, but I sure didn't taste it. Not a deal breaker really, just something I noticed. What I found odd was the mirrors they have on the wall. They are all over the place, and angled down so anyone in the restaurant could see what the people at the table were eating. If you were at the right angle, all you saw what a reflection of the person sitting there, so you were watching them eat. Very weird. I get the mirrors make a place feel more spacious, but this was just freaky. Luckily, we weren't seated under one of those. Lastly, you pay your bill up front at the register, but because (I think) people are paying with points, they line can get long. They had 2 people working through and I could tell they were working as fast as they could. Overall, we would come back here if we're visiting South Point. read more

As far as cafes go, they have a very extensive menu and located in the south point casino, it is a very lively atmosphere. It is the late night special that elevates Coronado above anyplace that I have ever been. When I first went there in 2024, their late night steak and eggs were $6.99. Now don't get me wrong, this is no steakhouse ribeye. It is a no frills steak and eggs that hits the spot with a few splashes of hot sauce on the top. Recently I have tried branching out to some of their other late night specials like the shrimp cocktail and the burger. The burger was amazing and even cheaper than the steak and eggs! The aunties who serve the food have almost been nice and service is usually very fast, despite being fully packed at 1 AM in the morning. read more

The cafe was very busy and lively. The menu had a nice variety of options with really reasonable prices. I had the BLT with coleslaw. My BLT was delicious. My bacon was cooked just the way I like it! We were once again vacationing in Las Vegas and it happened to be a Monday when seniors can pay with half points so our breakfast destination was a given. The only change was on our arrival the cafe was in process of being cleaned so we headed a few doors down to Don Vito's where the cafe menu was being offered. The Mrs also had a Bloody Mary that she said was pretty good. It was fairly busy, but the noise level wasn't bad. I liked the low separation wall so I could watch folks as they passed by. Was here with my partner tonight. Surprisingly, no line wrapped around the cafe on a Saturday night what a pleasant surprise. We split the 3 piece chicken tenders as an appetizer. They were delicious, very hot and served with carrots celery and a generous side of ranch. For an entree we split the chimichurri steak salad. Let me tell you it was beyond amazing. The steak and eggs is $6.45 and if your solo you can always walk in and tell them your seating at the bar seating. There's always a line at midnight for the specials but the line moves quick. I don't think there's a better in Vegas that serves steak and eggs for this price. For what it is the steak is pretty decent . Here's a tip, where they get you is if you order a drink like a soda or lemonade or ice tea. It's like $4 almost the cost of the meal. What I do is bring a water filter called go-pure size of a Brazil nut and it filters everything in 2 minutes. Las Vegas tap water doesn't taste so great. I carry it with me everywhere I travel. Turns any tap water into fresh filtered water. They also have a 1/2 burger and fries for $4.95 which is also a good deal but why get ground beef when you can get steak. Our server Christian and another guy (didn't catch his name) were awesome -- super friendly and on top of everything. Without us even asking, they kept our drinks full. Came here specifically for their late night specials that start at midnight. We got there around 11:30pm and already we could see the line starting to wrap around the restaurant. It was No problem for us since we were a party of 6 and some of us held the spot in line while a couple of us checked out the casino. There was no movement in the line, the restaurant had us wait until 11:55pm and then started to slowly let us in. The wait was well worth it for us, and we took full advantage of the late night specials. Be aware you can only order 1 entree if doesn't matter if it's from the regular menu or late night menu. If you want to order more things you'd have to order an appetizer or side dish. Many of us ordered steak and eggs for $6.50, great deal and a big plate of food, it came with steak, 2 eggs, hash browns & 2 toast. We also ordered side biscuits and gravy for $3.25 and side order of onion rings. This is a great place for a cheap late night meal, our server was the sweetest, our food came out quick, everything tasted good and it was all super cheap!
