Coronas de Oro is a pretty laid back place with reasonable prices. I ordered the fajita burrito. It was delicious. Big portion, must I say. They have great lunch deals. I had a quiet lunch alone on a Tuesday morning just as they opened. The Mexican egg rolls, with a spicy chicken filling, were exactly enough for lunch, maybe because I didn't fill up on chips. A terrible restaurant! Lots of dirty dishes all over unbussed tables. Their outdoor patio had dirty dishes on every available table. We had to sit at a dirty table while the hostess did a poor job trying to clean off our table. My wife had a margarita on the rocks which tasted like bad lemonade. First time giving this place a go. Service was extremely slow and the place was not even 2/3 full. The food did not meet our expectations as well. Stopped by the other day, the food and service was very good. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive the whole time, even when we asked for a bunch of stuff. Great Texmex restaurant absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. Stuffed avocados are to die for along with the steak a la Mexicana. I also absolutely fell in love with their habanero salsa which is one of their homemade SPICY sauce! Definitely going back. read more

Worst service I've had in a while. My wife never got her meal, then when they realized it, she was only brought part of her meal. The part they brought was incorrect and not the complete meal she ordered. They offered to pay for her meal and give us dessert, but after 20 minutes and no dessert in sight, we decided to leave. I was in Belton for an event at the University this past weekend with some folks and had my hopes high on getting some good Tex-Mex. I hate to say it but this has got be the worst Tex-Mex I have ever eaten. I ordered chicken enchiladas with Verde sauce while others in my party ordered guacamole, Wuest, and tortilla soup. Drinks and food were delicious and the staff was very friendly. However, Kristen was not a very attentive waitress. She failed to mention that the computers had shut down and I waited nearly 25 minutes for my food. Which would not have been a problem if I was made aware sooner. When my food arrived to the table I had no silverware and no tortillas and Kristen seemed to be in no rush to get those things when I had mentioned it to her. I had an empty drink for quite some time and had to flag her down to get another one. Would definitely like to give this place another try, but hopefully with some better service. read more

Really wanted this place to be good, Nice location on the river. We found a hair in the guacamole appetizer and pointed it out. The manager came by to ask if we wanted anything else. We said no just dinner. Really thought he would have taken it off the bill. Saw some flies in the building, usually not a good sign. Other than that the food was ok. One of my new favorite places. The margaritas are huge and delicious. Food is pretty tasty. My dad swears by their bacon wrapped shrimp. It's nice to sit on the patio by the river on hot Texas days and sip a drink. Great place to go for Tex-Mex, sercice was great, awesome location across the way from the river. Their sauce was on the watery side but if you can get passed that then its all good from there. Ask for the Habanero sauce if you like your sauce spicy its pretty tasty. read more

As someone who used to live in California, I have always been disappointed with "Texmex" food here in Texas. Went to Coronas De Oro last night and they come closer to real Mexican food than any other I have tried here in Texas. But, there is always a but, I ordered beef enchiladas and was still disappointed. Inside of the enchilada there was hamburger, rather than the shredded beef I expected. The meal was over-all good, but the portions were small. Probably won't go there again. I will continue my search for authentic Mexican tastes short of flying back to California to Tapatio's in Alpine. read more

I've been here numerous times, and I've always been a fan of the food, it is always delicious and now they have a habanero salsa you can request if you really like to spice things up! The big problem for us tonight was slow service, but to be fair it was cinco de mayo. We ended up waiting over an hour for a table, and they had actually removed us from the list, my husband however was wondering why people behind us were being seated and they were able to rectify the problem.
