Corrado might be small in space but it's big on variety and good service. I love the spinach pie the best. They heat it for me and bring it to the counter. The employees are very organized taking care of a continuous customer flow in and out of a small amount of space. I've never had anything that wasn't fresh made and delicious. Came here to meet a friend for coffee and pastries and the service is really bad. I didn't try the pastries but ordered a tea and was waiting by the counter to receive it and the person who checked me out had previously been on her phone and unwilling to help. My tea was ready and even though I was right by the counter, I couldn't hear her say it was ready and asked her to repeat herself and then she full on yelled that my tea was ready. The tables are also dirty and not cleaned, we waited to use the bathroom before we left but it was inaccessible to us. There were a couple of people going in and out and after waiting we expected to be next but the staff kept going in so we figured something was going on and left. Ambiance could be nice but as mentioned previously, was dirty and the staff unfriendly. With so many cafes in the area, might as well try somewhere else. read more

Very Cute coffee shop that I actually have only been to two other times and its been around for a while! Staff is very friendly here and the place itself is very clean. They have some outdoor seating and a few barstools inside by the window. I do not know how their pastries are but they look scrumptious. Nice cafe to visit on the upper east side. Fresh bread and assorted premade sandwiches are readily available. They also have hot and iced beverages to choose from. This is a fairly small place - so it's more takeout than eat in. But they have a good selection and are worth a look if you want to grab a quick bite and take it with you. read more

This was my first time visiting to order an iced matcha latte, which tasted terrible; all powder was settled down on the bottom, and I tasted bulks of powder when I sipped--later asked for syrups because the cashier didn't ask me and gave me sugar to put in a small cup with water. Kind of a mini chain here in the city. This location is very small, but does offer four or five small tables ouside to sit and people watch when weather is nice. Only a narrow counter to lean on inside. Place is on the cute side, and servers are nice. Coffee is a bit overpriced for the area, and I am not a fan of their bread. They do have some cool pastries that are ok for the price, but some are hit or miss as far as taste goes. They also offer sandwiches which are actually pretty good. If heading up to Central Park on a nice day this is a good choice to grab a few things for a blanket lunch. But be aware that your total bill will add up quickly if you get a bunch of things. In my opinion it is really a 2.5 star rating, but will give it 3 stars for the friendly staff and outside seating in summer. read more

This place makes the most delicious iced vanilla latte with oat milk. One of the best! Their pastries, bagels and sandwiches are all amazing too! My only suggestion for something they can improve on is making an option to order ahead online or by phone because they can get really backed up making long wait times which is inconvenient on the way to work in the mornings. read more

Great little neighborhood cafe. I'm sorry, did I say little? Minuscule is more like it. But it doesn't matter, because once you get inside it feels very comfortable. The staff sets a civilized tone, always pleasant, never rushing you, completely attentive. The elegant pastries and cakes in the display case are fine, but the brownies and cupcakes are what the neighborhood kids clamor for after school. Sandwiches are solid, and the spinach tart ($5!) is flaky and moist, but could use a bit more feta. They'll warm it up if you want. Breads in the front are nice to grab on your way home. Coffee is great. The five cafe tables outside handle the overflow. You can try to sit at the counter, but it's just not relaxing to have every passing bag and backpack taking a swipe at you. read more

Based on the reviews here I'm beginning to feel like I walked into this place on a bad day. I was walking up 90th to go to Central Park and decided to buy a loaf of bread for a picnic I was going to. I bought one of the loafs on display and was told I needed to spend $10 to use my credit/debit card. Ok, so I bought 2 German brownies. The total came to $10.50 and I was happy about the purchase. Once I got to Central Park for movie night, I noticed the loaf was rather hard. I broke a piece off and started to chew the bread like gum. The German brownie was my treat or at least I thought. It really didn't taste anything different than chocolate cake with chocolate fudge on top of shredded coconut shavings- also kind of hard. There was no moisture or fudgeness to the baked "treat." So to quote one of the most prolific and iconic leaders of the world. 3.5. I was served a brie and tomato sandwich on some of the toughest bread my two front teeth have come across. My jaw cracked. Granted, it was 7pm and perhaps staleness sets in at that time. The desserts bars we ate were not overwhelmingly sugary. The cashier (who was incredibly lively, funny and talkative) recommended a chocolate bar covered with nuts and embedded in cheese. It definitely grew on me. The staff, really awesome and funny. The desserts were tasty. My 3.5 is not a 4 because of the sandwiches. I passed this place a hundred times before I finally went in. I went in on the way home from work so the selection was not the biggest, but I found some gems. I had a wonderful loaf of chibatta and a lemon bar (topped wit coconut). Both were tasty, the bread had excellent texture, and the lemon bar was not too sweet, which was a nice change from the typical super sweet bar. I'm still trying out Corrado's various items to decide just how much I like this place. My impression is that it does not make very many of its baked bread goods. This is my favorite coffee shop in the UES and one of my favorites in all of Manhattan! The employees are SO sweet and friendly, plus they remember all of their frequent customers. I love their iced coffee with soy milk. It's so delicious! There's not a lot of seating but when it isn't super cold they have those darling mosaic tables outside to sit at. This Spanakopita must be the best in town!! The only one that competes with it is the one from Taverna Kyclades and that's my favorite restaurant in the world! The place is easy to miss and is quite small. To be honest and super descriptive, is just a corridor with some pastries and already made snacks. BUT, they surely know how to make pastries! I went to the other Corrado a couple of times before which is bigger and it has more things but I would never had guess that they had these Spanakopitas. Let's say I only ate one because I ordered it to go but I was eager to go back desperately to buy another one. It was too far away already... But worth the trip :-) I'll have to try the other goodies next time of they are all like this one. Great finding! read more

I hate writing reviews that I can't rave about but I have to do my due diligence! The lavender macarons were too dry, not chewy enough, not pillowy. The flavors were there, but it didn't taste fresh due to the dry texture. The green tea biscuit cookies were right on the flavor but still weird on the texture. Maybe more butter? I also ordered a basil chicken salad sandwich for my flight the next day. It tasted okay. Nothing spectacular. Since it was a day old then I won't comment on the texture. This place is tiny, but has very good pastries and if you like to perch on one of the window seats you can watch dog walkers and pooches romp by in the intersection. There is also outdoor cafe table seating for warmer weather. The vegetable ciabatta sandwich is a nice brunch item with artichoke hearts, red pepper, and mozzarella cheese. The only drawback here is that the coffee is a little weak. Otherwise this place would be a total five star review...very cute, good service, good bakery items, and an interesting view. read more
