I had a divine experience at Madame Bonté cafe. I discovered this cafe through the inkind app- I wish i had known about them sooner. Delicious food and drinks, warm and professional customer service and a clean place to eat. If you are just popping in for a pastry and coffee to go they are quick and efficient- if you choose to stay for a bite it is a cozy and clean place to pause for a minute. I want to give recognition to Cagla's exceptional customer service and to Jalil for the DELICIOUS avocado toast with scrambled eggs- perfectly prepared and the avocado was at peak ripeness! Last comment- accesible entrance and I saw Cagla open the door for an older woman wirh a walker- very nice to see young adults showing repect for our elders:) Will definitely dine here again! read more

I've dropped into this Madame Bonte location a few times over the years for an iced coffee or iced mocha when in the area. Friendly service, cozy ambiance, and a nice decor. It's a small spot but nicely appointed with seating available. They also have a small brunch menu available. Not really a coffee shop to sit and use your laptop as they frown down upon it here, but more of a spot to catch up with a friend over coffee and quick bite. Madame Bonte has a few locations checkered across the UES; this cafe is apparently their third. It's a nice, small space, with espresso drinks, matcha, and various sandwiches and pastries. They were plugging their cold foams hard on my visit, apparently they make their own strawberry and honey(?) foams. I had a matcha latte with strawberry foam, and was pleasantly surprised. It tasted like the strawberry essence had been infuse throughout the entire drink, without tasting artificially sweet or too strong. Definitely a very interesting twist on the matcha drink! Not a ton of seating, but it's nice to have a quieter cafe option off 2nd Ave that wasn't swarmed like some of the others nearby. read more

A very cute French-inspired coffee shop on the UES! Stopped in for a light lunch and got a chai latte with oat milk and caprese panini ($18 total). The chai was very well done, and the caprese was delicious - the bread was perfectly toasted to crunchiness and the mozzarella and pesto balanced each other perfectly. There was room for about 10 people to sit down inside, perfect for a solo lunch. Also appreciated they have a restroom inside too. read more

Probably the nicest barista I've encountered not only in New York but also back home in Midwest. I tried the strawberry matcha with cold foam, she let me do almond milk no extra charge unlike most places, and it was a reasonable $8.50 compared to other speciality drinks on UES. I walk by here all the time so I'm happy I was finally able to stop in. It's a super cute cafe that plays light music in the background. There are 5-6 tables. One side is a booth, which is nice. One of my favorite cafés in NYC - if you love French pastries/food and coffee/tea, it's a must visit! I always order a flavored latte or matcha and a croque monsieur, my #1 favorites! This time I got a strawberry matcha with it because I already drank a little too much coffee for the day, haha. The service is always sweet, although sometimes it takes a few minutes for the food to come out since they only have a few employees in at a time. The ambiance is cute and perfect for a little chat or even remote work. This location is a little small, but there are bigger ones further north in UES. Highly recommend a visit! read more

Still a pleasant oasis. I like it here when it's quiet. And weekdays are a nice time to visit, but ANYTIME WILL BE FINE. And, they are open until 5pm now!! Great! (They used to close earlier) Today (January 18, 2024) I finally tried the smoked salmon w/cream cheese on croissant, comes W/small side salad. Nice. A very fresh and flaky croissant. My chamomile tea with honey was OK. The carrot cake bar looked so good I had to try it. I could see the beautiful ingredients like black walnuts, plump raisins and carrot. Madame Bonte is a perfect example of how to get your business established gradually. The first location I visited is across from my apartment. Then one day during my walk I visited the second location on East 84th Street. Now the owners have not disappointed me once again with their location on East 66th Street. They have my favorite scones and my daughter enjoyed the coffee. Customer service is always timely and friendly. This visit I bought two scones to go. I'm definitely recommending and I will return without my daughter so I can take photos without her getting mad at me! read more

I ordered a honey cinnamon iced latte and instead of adding honey to the hot espresso, it went straight into the milk and ice in the cup, meaning it sunk to the bottom. When they added the hot espresso over the ice and milk, none of it incorporated and I couldn't taste any of the honey. Disappointing for $8, especially considering how small it was. read more

I have been coming here consistently and I have to say service and quality of food has degraded. Today, they forgot my $3 egg and my $4 1/4 of an avocado to the already expensive salmon tartine.
