This is a two part review which I why I did an average of 3. Our sales person was amazing!! Jessica was down to earth. We didn't feel any pressure from her and she helped get us into a vehicle that we really wanted. I have ZERO complaints about her whatsoever. My issue: I saw over three employees walking around without masks on. As a pregnant customer (who is higher risk), this was a bit unsettling. Even after the employees made eye contact with me, they still didn't put their mask on. It was almost as if they didn't care that we're in the middle of a pandemic. Very selfish and doesn't make me want to come here again (except for getting help from Jessica). Please Corwin, enforce masks. He even explained parts of the finance contract, that the finance manager could not. Like other reviewers, I too sat thru a lengthy sales pitch by finance pushing the extended warranty. And, getting an attitude when I didn't opt for any add ons. Again, Josh was phenomenal!!! I'm not deducting any stars for the finance guys lack of professionalism. There was another issue with transmission which I agreed to have fixed - communication was non-existent and I was without a car for 5 days without any idea when it would be fixed. I shopped my 2021 F150 Lariat with 35 dealers in Northern California and Nevada. I thought my local dealer would step up to bat with a decent deal. I was surprised that they wanted to nickel and dime me on the deal, so they were out. Corwin matched my best deal, with no BS. My salesman was straight up. Everything was done on line until it was deposit time. I went to the dealership in Reno, dropped off the deposit and ordered my truck. The salesman said it would be about 10 weeks( it was 9). Called me when the truck came in. The next day it was time for picking up my truck. Talked-to the finance person ( no high pressure). Paid for my truck, and away I went. For the service department and service advisor Michael Search for my review on the previous owner, Jones West Ford and see I was not a fan. I needed some warranty work on my truck and gave Corwin a shot. I used the late drop off service and received a call the next day from Michael. He was mater of fact while we discussed my complaints. A short time later, he called back with a diagnosis and told me it would be 6 weeks or so before the parts would be in (covid and all). I had not heard anything for a couple of months and gave Michael a call. It took a message or two before he called me back and set an appointment for the following month. The day before the appointment, I called Michael to confirm the parts were in and I should make the drive to Reno. He did not return the call. I made the drive anyway, hoping for the best. When I arrived, Michael was not available. I dropped the truck and went home. After several calls the next day, I learned the truck was being repaired. In the end, the truck was repaired in a timely manner. I was pleased to see they washed the truck before returning it to me. Me only real complaint, is Michael's lack of returning calls and staying in touch. Otherwise, I'll be back. read more

I called Corwin and spoke with Mary, explaining I was across the street and interested in a vehicle they had for sale. She told me it was in the back, but she'd grab the keys and meet me out front. No hassles, no games, we got a fair price on the new car, and the trade in, and we were in and out within 2 hours. Mary was a great help navigating the process. My wife and I bought the exact car at the "Internet Pricing". Our trad-in was right on the money based on my research on KBB. We would go back to Corwin Ford again. I want to thank the following people for this positive experience. Donavan Barker first contacted me after I made my initial online pricing request. Because the car was still in transit, there were no pictures yet. While waiting for the car to arrive, Andrew Springer, Donovan's manager, kept me informed several times via email with the status of the car. This happened on the second day during Donavan's day off. When the photos of the car were finally posted on their web site, we made arrangements to see it on the third day, Friday, 1/7/2023. When my wife showed up at Corwin Ford first, she was greeted by Donavan's team partner, Eduardo Gonzalez. This is because Donavan was with another customer already. Eduardo spent a total of 4 plus hours with us, showing us the new-used CR-V, and entertaining us during down time while our trade-in is being checked out and during financial paperwork preparation. Eduardo was patient and friendly. He answered all of our questions and helped us with our trade-in. While sitting and waiting, Donavan came by to introduce himself and helped us find the Finance Manager. Lastly, Jessica Caplin, one of the Finance Managers, helped us in our loan and warranty documents. She was quick and efficient. When purchasing a vehicle from Corwin Ford, I would be reluctant to purchase any of their service programs. When I purchased my Ford F-250 diesel from them, I did purchase a Corwin service plan. I thought at the time it would be a smart idea to have the experts take a look at my vehicle every oil change. Most recently, I contacted the Service Department to schedule an oil change. They informed me that the earliest was a month and a half out. This also happened once before where it was 4 weeks before I could get it in. Again, knowing what I know now and the difficulty of trying to get an appointment in a reasonable period of time, I would for go their service programs. read more

They offered us a warranty on the seats and said if anything was wrong with them (like if they tore or someone tore/poked hold on them) all we had to do was report it and they would fix it. We reported it and it took close to a year to fix because their customer service was so poor in the service department. We must have called and contacted 6 different people who had no answers until someone tried to help us but couldn't. Then we were having transmission issues which was supposed to be covered under the 30 year warranty. They claimed they fixed the issue (but they didn't) and charged $600 for it. They the. I would give zero stars if I could. Please, please go elsewhere for your sales and service needs. I have been burned by this dealership and their incompetence 3 times now. 1 - In July, I had an 8am appt to get my truck's oils changed. They took 5 hours to get this done even though I was waiting at the dealership while 8-months pregnant. I asked several times for updates. They kept telling me it was next in line only for them to tell me it wasn't even started until right before they all left for lunch. 2 - I tried to give them a second chance and went with them to trade in my truck for a certified pre-owned expedition. While this process was decently seamless, as soon as the paperwork was signed, all effort on their end went out the window. I needed a couple things repaired on the car. They kept the car from that Saturday to get these things fixed first thing Monday morning. They said the car would be done Thursday. I texted the salesman and he assured me that he had checked with service and everything was being worked on. Fast forward to Wednesday when service called me asking when I can bring the car in for these repairs. I let them know I was due to be picking it up the following day. They had no idea the car was on their lot. I went and got it anyways and told them I'd find another time to bring it back when they had their stuff squared away. When I got there to pick it up, nobody knew where my car even was. Took over an hour for them to locate it. 3 - I left my car with the after hours key drop this last weekend to have these parts finally fixed. I told them that the car absolutely had to be left out for me to pick up after hours Thursday evening as we would be traveling home with our baby and needed the car for our 1.5 hour drive home. We get there Thursday at 9pm to see that my car was not in fact left outside as promised. Keep in mind, I spoke to the service agent 2-3 times in the 5 day span and she knew it needed to be out there. We had to stay the night in a hotel costing several hundred dollars. The next morning, I called and the service agent immediately said "they didn't leave it out, did they?" And transferred me to the service manager. The service manager was arrogant and rude. I let him know our situation and how frustrated we were. He couldn't care less. I said that I felt we were due some kind of reimbursement to which he said "well what do you want then?" in an incredibly rude tone. I told him I needed at least the cost of the hotel room to which he agreed to give me in Ford Pass points. We get there to pick up the car and I really gave him every opportunity to apologize and this man really couldn't care less about how the customers were treated. I will never return to this location. Their miscommunication among staff members and their utter lack of compassion for customers is astounding. I'm honestly shocked the place is still in business. Bought a 2020 4Runner Limited here for 40k with 28,288 miles. Took it to a tire shop, found out the front tires needed replacement. One was bald on the inside, one going bald on the inside, both needed replacement. Couldn't salvage the back two due to the tread difference between the 2 new tires required and tread left on the ones on the back. Tire shop also sent me for an alignment to fix the problem. I spent $1,483.82 on 4 new tires and an alignment and only drove the vehicle 216 total miles since I bought it. You might think you are getting something good here due to the Corwin name, but buyer beware. This vehicle went through their service department and they still sold it with one bald and one almost bald tire. After learning of the problem today, they said, "I'm not sure how after one month they became bald. I am really sorry to hear that! If you come across anything else please reach out to me!" Why? Would I waste my time? Don't waste your TIME and $$$$ here, go elsewhere or at least have the vehicle independently inspected before you buy from Corwin Ford Reno. read more

Avoid Corwin Ford Reno at all costs. I had to endure ill-willed sales tactics and flat out elbowing only to receive a truck that was actually damaged from the get to. It all began with my purchase of a $85,000 truck. Since I had already sorted out the financing by pre-approval through my own personal bank, I assumed it would be a smooth and trouble-free experience. I was wrong. When I arrived to pick the truck up, they began insisting I fill out financial forms that were neither relevant nor obligatory. Especially not since the payment had already been cleared. They also tried to push their extended warranty on me, even though I made it clear that I wasn't interested. At this point, I was worn out by hours of dealing with their runaround behavior, so I didn't even realize that I hadn't been given an opportunity to inspect the truck. After having spent all this unnecessary time patiently dealing with them, it was time to receive the keys. It then became apparent that the truck had noticeable damage to the tailgate. There were identical dents on both sides, and a chip that they had badly covered with matching paint. When informing them about the situation, they supposedly documented the damage and registered it as a formal claim that would be forwarded to Ford. I came to realize that none of this had been true. On follow up after about a month, they denied knowing anything about the damage and stated that I had never reported it to begin with. I was forced to realize that further communication was not exactly a top priority of theirs, and nothing has since been resolved. Service department - never, ever, ever again. Be warned! Read the other reviews too. Failed every committed deadline. Gave me dates they knew were wrong (their advisors contradicted each other, and I could see the real info they weren't telling me on the computer work order status screen ). Said they completed work that they did not complete (airbag safety fix!). I had to drive in each time in order to get anything done because they didn't return most calls/messages. Failed to order parts for repairs, extending repair times *significantly*. They had countless attempts to make things right, but *every* time, fell flat. I'll drive to Capitol Ford in Carson City or over to Roseville or Sacramento if I need any future work (if I keep my Ford, which is a big if at this point). You've been warned. Honestly, if you plan to purchase a new/used Ford and rely on Corwin for its servicing... look into other car/truck brands. read more

I haven not driven the vehicle after warranty work to evaluate the work. As of now it appears to have been done correctly. My issue is with Corwin Ford business practices. One day after taking the vehicle in for warranty work I tried to get it back. I was surprised that I was told I must pay $600 to $800 for diagnostics fees before Corwin Ford would release my vehicle and that was before any warranty work. I could not take my vehicle home before paying for surprise diagnostic fees or let Corwin continue with repairs. I was told that I would be responsible for anything the warranty did not cover. I felt that the diagnostic fees were designed to lock me into letting Corwin Ford do the warranty work and I had no control or knowledge of what I would owe for work not authorized by the warranty company. Would it be hundreds or thousands? I guess I am lucky, I can still use the arm this customer oriented business was twisting. It took three days short of five(5) months for Corwin Ford to complete the work. According to Nevada state law (as I read it) the repair shop has an obligation to give customers an estimate for charges, in writing before the work is done. I could never get a straight answer what this warranty work would cost me out of my pocket. F-i-v-e(5) months later, repairs to the vehicle were complete but when I tried to pay Corwin Ford could still not tell me what I owed. Then I was informed that the warranty company had not yet paid and my vehicle will be held until they paid even though it was the dealership that sold me the extended warranty. I did not receive any written estimates until after the work was completed and the warranty company paid their share. Before my vehicle was released, I had to pay a substantial fee and sign a document that authorized the repairs (after the fact). Only then was my vehicle brought out and I was given the keys. To top it off, when I got the vehicle back the gas gauge was on absolute empty. I was happy to make it to a gas station before driving home. I do not recommend Corwin ford for repair work or purchase of any vehicle. I certainly do not recommend that anyone purchase an extended warranty through Corwin Ford. I was told they had to verify parts availability and would get back to me. A few weeks went by with no response so I contacted them again via chat. Finally got my 2022 f-150 back today (2/20/2023) after a month and a half of it being there after being told my truck would be done 3 weeks tops. Tony being the service writer I was with had absolutely 0 communication skills the entire time my truck was there, I would call and almost every time I did he would not answer me, and when he did he would tell me a date my truck would be done and I would hear absolutely nothing from him on those days, I finally get it back and my trim under my steering wheel is popping out with scratches in it, my floor mats where put in sideways with more trim pieces underneath my passenger floor mat, thought this place was gonna be better from Jones west Ford, but if anything it's gotten worse. read more

I found a vehicle on the Corwin Ford website on 1/25/23 and communicated with their "IT Sales" person Preston. I gave my credit card number to Preston for a $500 hold, until I could get to Reno the following week. On 1/26/23, Preston advised the car had failed the inspection and the car was no longer available. I looked at other inventory and determined to have the deposit refunded. The $500 charge never showed up on my credit card, over the next week, and presumed the deposit and refund had cancelled each other out. 2 weeks later, on 2/8/23, Corwin Ford charged the $500 deposit. No one at Corwin has been able to provide an explanation as to why the charge was made 2 weeks after the refund was requested. read more
