The place ambience and service were the only nice part about this restaurant. Foods were below average for sure. My salad was so salty. My steak $52, was not good, too bland, too chewy, too much fat in it. My husband's dish was the Tuna. It was bland. Oh and also finding parking was a challenge.

Great ambiance and service! Parking is a little tricky so make sure to give yourself some buffer time. We ordered two salads and they were very simple but flavorful. The mushroom pizza was great - good and chewy soft dough! Would love to come back and try the rest of the menu.

This is a loud, colorful place for dinner. Menu leans Italian. Our table enjoyed a shaved fennel salad, a chicory salad, a flatbread, a swordfish schnitzel with capers, a mafaldine and bolognese bianco, and an order of meatballs. I almost tried a mocktail but ultimately decided against it. At the last minute we remembered to order a puffy bread with pomodoro sauce, which is the bomb dot com. (Seriously, try it on your flatbread!) The restrooms are not labeled to be gender-specific and are decorated boldly in pink. Street parking in the area or take a ride share.

Fun place, great place for a date or daily celebration. Food is great, portions are a bit small in my opinion. Although we shared everything so we could taste all the great dishes. It's definitely a place to try and it's in a great location to hit up some brewery's afterward..

The aesthetic of the restaurant was great, but I didn't feel like the food matched up to it. My pizza came out pretty charred and it was just ok. The drinks were fine, but I thought everything was pretty overpriced. Nice staff though.

food quality: 5/5 service: 3/5 cleanliness: 5/5 value: 5/5 Tried Cosmica for the first time and overall, the experience was ok. I previously tried to make reservations online and the open table app would not allow a reservation for more than 5 people. I tried calling several times during their weekday dinner hours and no one would pick up, so I gave up. Fast forward 3 months later, OpenTable finally had option to book for 8 people, so I booked it. Not sure if there was a glitch or not, but glad they fixed it. The parking is a little rough. I knew that from the previous reviews and knew to not park in the strip club parking lot. Luckily we found a spot in the lot between Cosmica and Dough Miner. We were sat shortly after arriving on a Wednesday night. It was surprisingly busy and the service was pretty slow overall. We didn't get our order taken for at least 25 minutes and somehow a puffy bread order made it to our table even though we didn't order it. Can't complain, it was good! Once we had our order taken, the server checked in a few times but there was a lot of pause between check ins. We spent more time waiting for the server to come back with our food, drinks, and to box up our leftover. We were there for nearly 2 hours from the time we sat down to the time we paid for the bill. The positive side was that the food was good and well-seasoned, and the restaurant itself was well-kept. I'm a little disappointed that even though we were celebrating my birthday that we couldn't even get a free scoop of gelato like most restaurants would happily do. Might have been an off day, hopefully others have a better experience.

Food is fantastic! Their bolognese is the best I've ever had. I wish I could eat it every day. I will definitely be coming back to try more things on this menu. I also really enjoyed their slow braised beef short rib.

The person greeting us was very nice and our servers were great. We ordered the House, sausage and salume pizza, tortellini and saltimbocca. The food on the other hand were either terrible or just okay. Wish we had listened to other reviews saying the same thing to avoid an overpriced, far from pleasant dinner. Being that these comments were from months ago, it shows that this place has no intention for improvement. The pizzas were really really salty. The sausage pizza had greens on top and it tasted as though they took a salt shaker and threw extra salt on top of everything. The tortellini pasta skin was very dense so it almost tasted dry even though it's sitting in a broth. Don't recommend coming here. If you are going to spend this much on a dinner, go somewhere else worth spending on.

Got a reservation a couple weeks in advance. I was very intrigued knowing that it's a New York Times top 100 restaraunts. I liked our food and drink but I think I was expecting more maybe? My biggest con was that parts of my boyfriend's pizza crust was so burnt that you couldn't even chew on it. I liked my bolognese a lot and the puffy bed was really soft and good. The service was super nice and gave us good recommendations for when I was deciding between drinks. Parking deffo is a struggle to find in their small lot. So we just parked at a paid lot a couple minutes away and walked from there which wasn't too bad.

Came for a birthday celebration and was wowed with the pretty pink undertones of the space. We were seated promptly by friendly staff, and was able to put in all our drinks immediately even with a larger group. Most everything is shareable and delicious. The eggplant dish was unique with its spicy pomodoro which I loved!

Run don't walk, Cosmica is a restaurant you want to experience! The ambiance of this Italian diner is so warm and welcoming, and the colors and decor reflect that. From the hostess to our server, service was top knotch. Our server had great food recommendations and was regularly checking in to see how things were going, if we wanted another drink, etc. The food and the drinks were incredible! I had a delicious espresso martini and while each dish was great, you MUST get the shrimp linguine! It was the best pasta dish I've had in a very long time. I will dream about it until my next visit!

Cosmica: Warm Vibes, Great Food, and a Few Happy Surprises Cosmica is super cute -- a great vibe from start to finish. Everyone we met -- host, bartenders, waitstaff, and what I'm pretty sure was the manager -- was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy we were there. Parking Tip If you're driving, park on the side with the "Maven" customer signs. It's two-hour parking, and we even had a parking attendant from a nearby business check in. Once we said we were going to the restaurant, he waved us through -- kind of nice to know the lot is monitored. First Impressions Cosmica is tucked underneath apartments, with charming windows labeled wine - pizza - pasta. Bonus points for the Pride flag out front -- my other half and I love seeing that when we walk in. It instantly made us feel even more at home. Inside, there's a converted indoor-patio space to the right (adorable), and more formal dining to the left. Definitely make a reservation -- even on a Thursday, the next available table wasn't until 9 PM. We lucked out by spotting the bar and were happily seated there, the only guests at the counter all night. It felt private and special, with our bartender's full attention. Drinks & Starters The menu is a placemat-sized two-sider with tempting pastas, pizzas, and more. I went for the Snake Bite Sangria (perfect choice for the night) while my other half enjoyed a glass of Sikele Rosso. For our starter, we had Prosciutto di Parma with warm, salty gnocco fritte. Delicious on their own, but I later realized the menu lists a pear mostarda -- which we didn't get -- and I think it would have added a great sweet balance. Still tasty enough to box up for breakfast the next day. Salad Win We always try the Caesar, and Cosmica's did not disappoint. Shredded lettuce (so easy to eat), crushed croutons sprinkled throughout, and a balanced dressing with added anchovies. Texturally and flavor-wise, it was spot-on. Mains & A Little Mix-Up When ordering, I asked about the Pork Milanese -- mostly curious about the chili aïoli it comes with. Once I learned it could be a little spicy (and spice isn't my friend), I opted for the Pacific Striped Bass instead. While we enjoyed our appetizers and salad, our bartender came by to say the kitchen was running a little behind and that a few items would be comped because of the wait -- a thoughtful gesture we really appreciated. The funny thing is, we didn't even notice the delay. We're great company for ourselves, and there was plenty of energy, movement, and details to take in from the bar. I even told her the comp wasn't necessary, but she insisted. When the entrées arrived, my other half got his Chicken Scarpariello (tender thighs in a white wine sauce -- delicious). I, however, received the pork cutlet instead of the seabass. By then it was getting late, and since I had been on the fence between the two dishes anyway, I decided to keep it. It was crispy, juicy, and reminded me of a great schnitzel -- though I did have to scrape off most of the spicy aïoli. Still, everything was clearly fresh, hot, and well-prepared. Extra Pasta Because... Why Not Mid-meal, we saw a pasta dish go by that looked too good to skip. Enter the Spaghettone -- perfectly al dente, fresh, and worth every bite. Yes, we were now up to four to-go boxes. Sweet Ending We skipped a full dessert (too full!) but couldn't resist the Lemon Sorbetto. Light, tart, refreshing -- the perfect palate cleanser. Final Thoughts We left full, happy, and impressed -- both by the food and the warm, attentive staff. Next time, I'll make a reservation, aim for that seabass, and maybe bring friends for a laid-back, laughter-filled night. Pro Tips: * Reserve ahead -- bar seating is great, but fills fast. * Park in Maven customer spots and let the attendant know you're dining at Cosmica. * If you see the Spaghettone, just order it. Trust me.

If I could give this place a 3.5 I would because it teeters between a 3 and a 4. What's makes it a 4? Service. Our waiters were kind, polite and always checking in on us. The drinks tasted as good as they looked. I was also happily surprised to see a number of dessert items on the menu such as cheesecake and gelato of the day as dessert as it is not listed in their website menu. Plus the vibes are immaculate. They have both an indoor and outdoor seating area but the tables are kinda small so if you're going with more than 2 people and plan on getting more than one dish I'd ask for a booth. What makes it a 3? While they tasted amazing the dishes were inconsistent and portions were too small vs. the price you pay. My friend and I both got pizzas and both our pies were crispy on one end and a bit under done on the other. The pies, like the rest of dishes were just too small compared to what we were paying. The Rigatoni dish in the photos was $22. It made me wonder- it is so expensive because it's fresh pasta? I couldn't see any indicators of fresh pasta on the menu (and normally when a place has fresh pasta they throw it in your face). I give them grace since they're a new place and it seems like they're trying to decide if they want to be a bar or restaurant. If you're going out for a drink and want a place with chill vibes where you can yap with your friend group this is the place to go! However if it's pasta and pizza you're after they'll taste great but you might be let down by the price.

Our server, Ben, was truly exceptional. He took the time to explain every special in detail, made us feel like we were longtime friends, and struck the perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering. We were dining with our toddler, and he brought over crackers just in case our little one wanted a snack. That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes. They were knowledgeable about the specials, offered appetizer suggestions, promptly cleared empty plates, and ensured all of our needs were met. Unfortunately, the food is where the experience dropped from a 5-star service rating to a 3-star overall rating. The fish was overwhelmed by a heavy tomato sauce that masked the flavor of the fish itself. The gnocchi was overcooked and swimming in sauce, resulting in a disappointing entrée. While the atmosphere and service were exceptional, the quality and execution of the food did not match the high standards set by the rest of the experience.

There were two options and we chose the one with shrimp on romaine, burrata caprese, and melon with prosciutto. Then we shared the pasta sampler (which has a much cooler name that I can't recall because I don't speak Italian!). I was never a big fan of gnocchi but it was fantastic, served in a spicier tomato-based sauce. There was a spectacular butternut squash ravioli, spinach ravioli, and a spaghetti with an indescribably delicious cream sauce. Overall, that dish is NOT to be missed. We also had a special entree of beef tenderloin with mushrooms, shaved potatoes, and an oxtail sauce. We shared it because OMG food coma, which was a great call. We finished with the tiramisu *swoon* and the lemon gelato with lemon juice, local Utah honey, and sea salt sprinkles. I'm not a big lemon dessert fan and I wouldn't have normally ordered it (I had the tiramisu). The lemon gelato with honey had such a pleasantly unusual texture. The honey had the mouth feel of stringy cheese but the flavor of spring. The gelato was delicate and soft and the salt just amplified the experience. Zachary was our server. One of my requirements was cocktails, and those looked pretty good from what I saw on Yelp. The menu was intriguing as well. I knew I wanted to try the tuna tartare for sure. I made a reservation for us for 18:30 and we were greeted with a smile and quickly seated. The ambiance was beautiful. I loved the giant tree in the middle of the dining room, and the seats were so chic and comfy. There is a parking garage, so no need to worry about parking either. Our server promptly greeted us and we placed our order for our cocktails and the tuna tartare app. I went with the Truth or Pear (I'm a sucker for anything pear related) and my husband went with the Mezcal old fashioned. Both arrived to our table shortly before the complimentary bread did. That bread was oh so warm and fluffy, and came with the most delightful herb oil to dip in. The cocktails were good, smooth and well-balanced. The tuna tartare was next to arrive, and it was plated wonderfully. I was very excited to dig in. The bread was toasted to perfection, and the tuna was seasoned with the most delightful citrus notes, just as stated in the menu. It was a perfect combination of flavors, and my favorite dish of the evening. The portion was also generous in my opinion, and we definitely savored each bite. As far as our entrees, we both wanted pasta, and the bison rigatoni caught my eye immediately. The spicy rigatoni spoke to my husband as well, so that's what we both ended up ordering. The pasta was quite decadent, especially mine with the ricotta. We noticed a lot of people packing up leftovers, and quite frankly, if we weren't so hungry, we probably would have had leftovers as well. While the sauce was overall good, it was a little monotone. The rigatoni was also a little overcooked. I honestly expected more, especially coming from CA, where I am no stranger to quality pasta dishes hailing from restaurants in Carmel, Half Moon Bay, and similar towns. We left with our bellies full, and the service was great, but I wished our pasta dishes were better, especially for what we paid (which was comparable to what I've paid in CA, mind you). The tuna tartare was most definitely the highlight of our meal. The next time we're in SLC, I'd come back for the tuna tartare, but it looks like I'll need to do a more thorough search for restaurants that serve better pasta.

Our server was quick to apologize, had a fresh entrée prepared right away, and even comped the meal, which was greatly appreciated. The replacement dish came out hot and was much better. I also enjoyed a glass of red wine that paired nicely with dinner, and the complimentary bread was absolutely delightful--fresh, warm, and a great way to start the meal. One of my favorite touches was the beautiful cherry blossom tree in the center of the restaurant. It creates such a unique and inviting atmosphere and really adds to the overall dining experience. While there was a small hiccup with the food temperature, the excellent service and attention to making things right turned it into a positive experience. I would definitely return.
