i really enjoyed this cafe! the bacon and eggs were both cooked perfectly and the coffee cake was tasty. service was fast for a saturday morning. the patio area is super cute and it's so fun that there is an attached bookstore.

I've been coming here for years and each time it's been great! The staff is always really nice and attentive. The food, no matter what you get, is always delicious! I love that everything tasted elevated but homemade and is seasoned really well. We got the German pancake, thinking it would be a thin crêpe like pancake, but it was actually a dense, cake texture. Regardless, it was delicious but just something to note if you intend on getting that! I love the cute little store next-door and the location of the restaurant is in a good area. This is a classic spot in SLC.

Cute cafe, co-located with a book store. Queer-positive with very nice hosts and waiters. Food was good, but prices are a bit much. A lunch for 5 was almost $150 without anything egregious - five sandwiches and kombucha. Parking is confusing, Google Maps brought us behind an abandoned shed where we had to climb over trash and overgrown bushes. Fun to try once but we won't be back.

Our recent visit to Oasis Cafe left us feeling a little disappointed. My husband had eaten here a few months ago and was really excited to bring our family back after enjoying the coffee and the amazing flavors in his breakfast burrito. When we arrived, the hostess was welcoming and gave us the option to choose where to sit. We decided on the covered patio, which had a relaxing vibe. The outdoor fountain added a calming touch, and the pastry case looked absolutely delicious--definitely got us excited to try a new spot. We started with drinks: a coffee, two hot chocolates, and an apple juice. The hot chocolate was a standout--rich and served in a big mug, which I loved. For the kids, we ordered bacon and eggs with breakfast potatoes, which was a great value. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito again, and I went with an omelet. Unfortunately, the experience started to fall short when our food arrived. Everyone received their meals except for mine. I assumed it would follow shortly, but after several minutes, our server came to check in and asked if we needed anything else. I let her know I was still waiting on my omelet. She checked on it and later returned to apologize, saying it would be out soon. In the meantime, I shared food from my kids' plates. By the time my meal finally arrived, my family had already finished eating. The omelet included fresh avocado, but overall it tasted dry. I only had a few bites, especially since I had already filled up on the breakfast potatoes--which, to be fair, were quite good. To add to the disappointment, my husband mentioned that his burrito didn't live up to what he remembered from his previous visit. Overall, we left feeling underwhelmed. While the atmosphere and a few menu items showed promise, the service timing and food consistency didn't meet our expectations this time.

I live this place! My friends and I love to go here for a chill brunch. We sat outside in their enclosed patio in a colder day and it was still comfortable. Service is good, food is great. What a wonderful Salt Lake spot!

I got the udon peanut stir fry with tempeh after a long time of eyeing it, and it was good! It wasn't the best thing I've ever had, but I enjoyed it once I put my habanero flakes on it, and I would order it again.

Had a great brunch at the oasis cafe easy to find with lots of parking. Coffee - great coffee - full body and taste loved the coffee Huevos Rancheros - nicely plated sliced avocado would have taken to the top - but it was good Salmon lox crostini - excellent- fresh lox loved the chopped red onions and cappers with Boursin cheese a real step up from cream cheese and liked the idea of it all being on a thin crispy baguette ! Really good and perfect for something light We enjoyed the food and service.

Cute place with a nice interior and fairly large patio area. I ended up getting the breakfast sandwich (7/10, I wish it had a little more flavor) and my bf got the Eggs Benedict Florentine with smoked salmon (8/10). We also both got an iced caramel latte (they were out of vanilla) which tasted a little too superficial for my liking, but size-wise it was good bang for your buck! Service was 10/10, they let us move to a different table because it had AC blasting right on it, and our server was very attentive and so sweet! Cute place for brunch/lunch and a nice stroll through the neighboring book store.

Got seated quickly on a Friday afternoon. The matcha was a little dull but with some added sugar it was better. The spicy chicken sandwich was very good though. Love the sauce they put on it.

Love the food here! I've brought my friends and family here and they all loved it. Ambience is good, though service can be slow (even when it's not super busy).

This is actually one of my favorite cafe to go to when the weather is nice out. It's unbelievable how it's always busy! I've never been here when it wasn't a busy day. The salmon or eggs Benedict are usually my go to. The food and drink prices are some of the best in salt lake. What really is unfortunate is the service. I've never had good service at this restaurant. This last time 1/16 really takes the cake. My server didn't even really want to acknowledge me. Even once he did greet me his only words were a mumbled "are you ready to order"? He's an older bald gentlemen. The entire time I ate until I was ready to pay I did not interact with him. I had to get up and pay for my meal at the front desk. They couldn't find my ticket and only then did he place it down beside me. It really unfortunate but I will still come because I love the food.

We had so much fun dining out with friends tonight!! It's been way too long since I've been to Oasis!! I had the Dallas Alice Belgium Ale and my husband and the Green Tea Mule. The bread and butter for the table was delicious!! Nice and soft! We're all vegetarians and each got something different!! Nice variety!! I got soup and salad with their soup of the day and the field greens salad. My husband got the eggplant risotto. Our friends got the linguini and the udon noodles. Everything was delicious!! We didn't have room for dessert, but maybe next time!! Service was good and it was fun to sit outside enjoy the pleasant evening!

They have a beautiful patio in the summer. The metaphysical bookstore is always a treat to peruse while you wait though the wait is never terribly long. I wish they had more vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered the hash and they graciously subbed the eggs for tofu but it lacked seasoning and the potatoes weren't the freshest. I think just an off day though. The service here is always excellent.

Honestly the cheese course was not my favorite. It was good cheese, but I didn't think the greens paired well with it so it really was just cheese, which I found a little disappointing. However the entrees more than made up for it. The pasta especially was absolutely delicious, the braised beef cheek was cooked so perfectly it melted in my mouth. Not to mention I ended up breaking out in hives at the start of the meal (unrelated to the food) and the staff was so kind. They quickly boxed our food and even brought me some Claritin to help tide me over. The food was piping hot when they boxed it and traveled beautifully, which was a bonus for sure. For brunch, my husband had the burger with a fried egg and I had their special of the day: chilaquiles. This might have been the best chilaquiles I've had in the valley. The pork was delicious, the poached egg was actually perfect, and the chips still kept their crunch which is usually my biggest gripe. I didn't try the burger, but my husband was raving about it. While we were waiting, we watched several parties of two arrive after us with reservations at 8:10, 8:15, and even 8:20, and they were seated before us. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went back to ask how much longer it would be. I was told it would be another 20 minutes. I reminded Carleigh that we had a reservation, and her response was, "Oh, you did?" She then asked for my full name and phone number, looked up the reservation, apologized, and immediately escorted us to a table that appeared to have been ready the entire time. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Reservations are made so guests don't have to wait behind people who arrive later. It felt like our reservation had been completely ignored until I spoke up a second time. Whether this was poor organization or a lack of attention, the level of service at the front desk was unacceptable. We came looking forward to a nice family dinner, but the experience started with unnecessary frustration and left a very poor first impression. Upon entering, the evening seemed promising. The ambiance was moody and intimate, the host was astute and welcoming, and the tile work was beautiful. As the night wore on, however, things slowly stopped adding up to a delicious dining experience. The first thing was the waitress. Apparently the host was also the waitress... and the bartender... and the busser - not that you would know it because of how attentive she was, but shortly after getting our small plates I mentioned to my cousin that I hadn't seen any other person working in the restaurant. While I knew that couldn't be true, I was facing into the restaurant and I only ever saw two other men casually saunter out from the kitchen, look around, and saunter back. No one looked excited to be working there, but the two men who appeared from the kitchen gave me no sense of urgency or purpose, only just that they were extremely bored. The second thing that didn't add up was the Farm to Table narrative. As our Swiss Army Server (thanks for that one, Dimitri) was opening up our wine and recommending dishes, I asked where the farm was located. Apparently, the farm is located in California, and this "farm" owns several other "Farm to Table" restaurants... hmmm... When it came to ordering, we were instructed to order all of our dishes upfront, but that they would come out in courses... While things rolled out like that, the way we were required to order and the way our food came out gave the distinct impression that they weren't dishes being made to order - only delivered to the table in such a way as to give the illusion that they were. Dishes you would expect to come out hot came out room temperature. Dishes you would expect to come out chilled came out room temperature. When each course came out they came out one dish at a time, but one immediately after another... almost like they had been sitting on a table in the kitchen just waiting for anyone to order them. The final, and perhaps most telling thing that didn't add up, was the distinct lack of any smell coming from the kitchen - let alone the restaurant. Only after we left the establishment did we realize how fresh and clean the air smelled. As a home chef, I understand that not every dish calls for garlic and onion, but what about salt? What about pepper? What about any kind of butter or seasoning or even a maillard reaction? In this day and age of salted dark chocolate caramels and umami, attempting any dish completely void of salt is a brave choice, but it's certainly not a heroic one. I mean, we're talking about a restaurant that cooks and serves a filleted trout with its head still attached, eyes buggin' out, bones in, the works! How are we not smelling the fish when it hits the table‽ Have you ever plugged your nose while you tasted something?... Exactly... To finally wrap this review up - the reason why I'm giving this experience 1 star is because the service was attentive, the beet salad was good, and the rest made us laugh uncontrollably at how bad it was. The potato pave was a fun gimmick, and the brussel sprouts were crispy but the pork tenderloin and the fish had no smell, no recordable temperature, and the only flavor I could identify was... dusty dirty mop water? I just don't know... we even tried to load up bites of pork and fish with the polenta, the sautéd and pickled greens, and the "sauces", but nothing helped... if anything, it made things taste worse... truly, I've never been closer to becoming a vegan. People will say we should've just sent back the food, but I've worked in food and bar service. How does requiring that level of service from your waitress for your patrons even begin to make up for a business model whose only job is to make food taste good? After all, I can get that level of service from McDonalds, even though I've never had an experience that required it from them... If you do decide to go to Roux for your next meal, maybe make it breakfast... from my experience, breakfast is a hard meal to mess up.

I'm a sucker for bread of any kind but these are what the Hawaiian dinner rolls wish they could be. They are perfectly pillowy and the herb butter just elevates them. Do not miss these for more "sophisticated" fare. If I lived here, I would definitely come back. Everything was considered and well-executed. Bravo
