I've always seen Costa Azul by my house and finally got to try it with my girlfriend! Food was good. I tried their chilaquiles with carne asade and my girlfriend got sopa de albondigas. Their chilaquiles were good! The sauce could have used a little more flavor but the carne asade made up for it. The sopa was great! Really good flavor and the albondigas were also cooked really well. Service was good. We were given time to look over their menu and our waitress explained the foods well. Ambiance is nice. Gives a very welcoming and homey feeling. Plenty of seating inside. Overall , I would give it 3.5/5 stars. It was a standard restaurant. Nothing stood out like crazy but it also wasn't bad at all. Would come back again and try other items!

In 2019, I stumbled into this place and i am still so thankful for it. Always tasty good dishes served from genuinely friendly people. Today I returned after 4+ yrs away and SO HAPPY it's just as great as before. Today I had a grilled Pescado Sarandeado with a salad (bc sadly my Dr told me I need a break from rice and beans). So great to taste great food again from Costa Azul.

Fire local gem in Burbank. I've had takeout here before, but came here for lunch for some quick Mexican food. I shared the ceviche tostada, carne asada, al pastor, and chicken tacos. The place itself is a bit divey looking but the food is delicious. The presentation of the food was impressive and I was satisfied with everything. I especially enjoyed the ceviche, it was fresh and so refreshing.

This is a family-owned local gem. The prices are fair for both the drinks and the food. Every time I try something new it exceeds my expectations. I have had the pozole verde, asada, and mole enchiladas. Everything is always perfectly cooked. It's never too packed in here and the seating area is spacious. The people that work here are also always on top of it and kind.

Being a frequent traveler and lover of all things Mexico... I must try the menudo in the states when they say they got a good flavorful one. The person behind the counter seemed to be the owner who was super cool and handled my order while getting a catering order it seemed. It's on the corner with natural light, low music amidst the the sound of the cooks communicating in the back. Picking up my order from the window I was able to get the type or fresh tortillas and add the oregano and chili flakes. Salty, spicy (cause of my heavy hand) juicy pieces of organ and meat. It did the trick right before my flight. This is definitely a good stop after a night of drinking and a quick recharge.

The food went well. There is another section with bar and restaurant. This today was a walk up order pay, then the chef calls you over to pick up your order. That is where this place excelled. He asked how I like it spicy, etc. Medium please. And he was thoughtful to give me little dish of spicy onions and jalapeños to try. The dish itself was the best I have had hands down. The ambience on the take out side was minimal plastic ware. But that's what I like. The money goes into the food itself. This chef is amazing.

Since my first visit, I've been returning multiple times and I have to give credit to Costa Azul for the phenomenal job. The food is delicious. I've gotten the enchiladas that are good. The fried red snapper and the fried tilapia are always a great choice. The oyster with ceviche! My goodness. It always tastes the first thing I order. Drink it with a Michelada. Boom, just keep the food and drinks coming! I came on a Friday night and there was a performer. Gets the grove going.

Not long ago, we had some amazing tacos at the Beverly Hills location, so we wanted to give the Burbank location a try as well. Even though we had already eaten quite a few snacks earlier that day and weren't very hungry, we were still curious to see how this location compared. My mom really wanted to order the shrimp taco because she remembered how much she had enjoyed it before. However, the menu indicated that it was spicy. So, I asked if they could make it non-spicy or serve the spicy sauce on the side instead, but he explained that the taco is prepared with the spice already included, so they weren't able to do that. We then asked if they had any other seafood tacos. That's when we found out they had a ceviche taco as the special of the day, so we ordered two of those. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, although it was a little saltier than we expected. Even so, every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly. The employee who took our order especially stood out. He was genuinely kind and welcoming from beginning to end. While I was eating, I realized the ceviche taco was much larger than I expected, and I got full before I could finish it. I asked for a to-go box, but I couldn't figure out how to close the lid. The employee immediately helped me close it with a smile. They were just as friendly during the ordering process as they were afterward, and their excellent customer service really made our visit enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try some of their other tacos in the future.

Completely different menu. Food was beyond sub par you can make the food at home and would taste better! Save your money. Everything we had from two orders of "taquitos", "esquite", quesadillas and a blood orange mojito. The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. What came was tacos dorados so why is it named taquitos? They DID write on the menu that it's fried tacos..but again why are they not just calling it TACOS DORADOS? Same with esquite typically esquites are corn off the cob but this was on the COBB and yes it was described on the menu as on the Cobb but again why not call it ELOTE instead of esquite. Clearly this is semantics but just frustrating. If you want authentic Mexican food there is a Don Cuco's around the block that is WAY better than this place. They are at a different tier than this Kalavera's location. If you're a drinker perhaps that would make the food taste better...so disappointed and a waste of money!

We got six tacos between the asada and al pastor, plus a queso burrito with asada. Everything was really good. My fiancée noticed that they were making the tortillas by hand right there, which was a nice touch and definitely made a difference. I especially liked the al pastor, and the queso burrito was really good too and pretty filling. I also liked that they actually have a big menu with the prices clearly posted. Not every taco stand makes the pricing that easy to see. The tacos were $3.25 each and the queso burrito was $13.50. Our total was $36.22 after tax. I will say the tacos are a little pricier than what we're personally used to. At some of the taco stands we normally go to, we're used to paying around $2 to $3 per taco, so $3.25 stood out a little. That said, the food was good enough that I didn't feel disappointed with what we paid. The only other small thing was the salsa. They ask if you want everything on the tacos and put the salsa on for you, while we're more used to taco stands giving you salsa on the side at the end. I'm sure you can ask for some separately, but since we were taking everything home and didn't ask, I just used some salsa we already had. Not really a complaint, just something I'd remember next time. Overall, we really liked the food and would come back. Since we're still trying different taco stands around the area, we'll probably keep exploring too, but Angel's was a good first stop.
