I was exited to have found a pupuseria near my office , but sad to say I was disappointed. I'm Salvadoran myself so I've tried many salvi restaurants and know a good pupusa when I taste it. The pupusas here weren't horrible but also weren't very good. The masa was a bit on the thick side and a little dry. The filling was good. I also got a chicken tamale and that like 2/5. Tried the plantains and while the plantains were good, the beans and cream were watered down. The other negative for me was that I placed my order over the phone and when I picked up I was told cash or Zelle only. I didn't go prepared with cash so luckily I have Zelle so I could pay, but that should be disclosed over the phone in my opinion. The inside feels authentic and clean so maybe I'll give it one more try and update if I do. But for now it gets a 3 for me. read more

We sadly have to rate this restaurant 1 star because of service and the pupusas itself. Starting off with the service, I called in a pickup order and decided on the #2 combo with 2 pupusas and rice and beans and the #3 combo with 3 pupusas and a canned soda. When I first called, the lady said we couldn't order different types of pupusas, even though it didn't specify on the website. So I told her let me call her back so I can get my Mom's order. I called back and the lady said never mind we can do it and it'll be ready in 30 minutes. My Mom drives to the restaurant and the lady seemed to be so confused on our order. She didn't have the best customer service toward my Mom. To top it off, my Mom handed the lady my card to pay with and she said "No! Cash or Zelle only" which is weird because there was NO SIGN until the lady turned around a plastic sign that wasn't facing the direction of the customers and pointed at it. To make matters WORSE, another customer was coming up to pay and handed his card. The lady said "cash or zelle", to which the customer said "No I only have my card here." and the lady accepted his card as payment! RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY MOM! Absolutely ridiculous I couldn't believe how my Mom was being treated at the restaurant. This is not acceptable. And lastly, the food. The pupusas look like pancakes. And for the price we paid it was absolutely not worth it. They forgot my rice and beans as well with my combo and it's not like we can get refunded because the receipt they gave us isn't even a receipt. We love supporting small businesses but not when customer service and basic respect goes out the door. We are never returning here. Do not waste your money, time, and energy going. read more

This was my second time visiting this establishment. There's one cashier whom also serves as the server and one cook. The place is very clean and they have a good amount of clients it seems. The food does take a bit long to come out so be prepared to wait if you're ordering there and dining in. I ordered pupusas and the cheese one was kind of flat for what I'm use to and the lorocco one was more filling as it had more cheese and it wasn't burnt like the cheese one. My aunt and her daughter seemed to enjoy their plates but it was hard to get a hold of the cashier for refills or the bill as she was the only one doing a lot. Everything in the pictures ended up being $75 without tip included. It's a bit pricey for meh food and non-efficient service but it's the only pupusa place in Burbank. read more

I'm crazy about the pupusas here! Speaking of crazy, I used to date a Salvadoran girl who was crazy. But.. if she could make pupusas as good as these I might have tried to make it work hahaha... I got three of them and a horchata. Chorizo and the jalapeño cheese were my favorites of the three. The other I got was pork beans and cheese. A little too heavy on the beans and not enough pork. I also think three might have been more than necessary, it became a little repetitive after the second pupusa. Make sure to try them out with the cabbage and hot salsa they give. The acidity of the cabbage goes well with the richness of the pupusa. Price for each was about $4 The horchata was interesting. the first few sips were chalky and not so great but the more you drink the better it gets. So don't give up on it! Unlike that new year's resolution that you already forgot about.. lol There's street parking out front and the residential back behind the business. And no meter which is nice! I got the Salpicon, which is ground beef with onions and radish, and the plate was SO GOOD. I would defo get another rice dish again, the rice was nice and al dente. The refried beans were also good and not too salty, but kind of tasted like coffee which was interesting. This dish comes with homemade tortillas, which I thought was only okay--they certainly don't microwave reheat well, unfortunately. I also got the lorocco (a type of vegetable) pupusa, and it came with refreshingly crisp slaw that went great with the pupusa. Pupusas are delicious, so is the Salvadoran Horchata. It is a laid back restaurant. Sadly they close early dand despite Yelp listing as this place accepts credit cards as form of payment, they don't. They seem to want to avoid on credit card fees, by accepting Zelle or Cash only. read more

Well, this is a "hole in the wall" that you DON'T want to try. We had horchata with mixed(revueltas) pupusas. The horchata was water and sugar. They were taking a while with the pupusas and brought over chips and salsa. The salsa was not edible and the chips were bland. How do you mess up on chips and salsa? The pupusas were flavorless and overcooked. We ordered mixed. But one side of the pupusa was all cheese and the other part was all beans. We don't like wasting food so we asked for a box to take the left overs. The server handed me a small foil paper. Not only is the food terrible but the service is just as bad. My daughter and I both got food poisoning here. We ordered some pupusas queso con loroco, the casamiento and plantains. I called the order in ahead of time and the woman taking my order told me it would be 25 minutes. I arrived almost exactly 25 minutes later and only then did they start making my order. I waited another 20 minutes or so and finally got my food. Everything tasted fine, but that night, both my 18-month-old daughter and I got sick: vomiting, diarrhea, the works.
