There nothing like getting excited to buy a car. We called to schedule an appointment to see if they had the car on hand. We are gonna be driving for 1 hour+ we had to make sure. They were all like yeah no worries; they were gonna go give it a quick wash so its presentable. We get there and we are informed that another party was interested in the same car and if we wanted to see it. We thought it was strange since we called ahead and we drove pretty far. We felt rush when we got there because the salesmen was trying to see if we can just get our credit approved before them we can just snatch it from the other couple. We didnt like the method but we listened to the numbers and talked about the car. We asked if we can see the car in better light cuz when we got a quick look we noticed some marks on it. Boy did we make a good call. The paint was chipping to the base. We tried to make a offer since painting those spots will cost money. They kept saying no because it was the lowest etc etc . 5 mins later the "floor manager" told the salesmen it was sold. 1st come 1st server is their way of doing business. We drove for 1 hour to go see it and to have it swept right under us and them doing a rush buy. It was a horrible experience. When buying a car it should be done at a slow pace and it should be exclusive. Don't be selling the car to 2 groups and see which one signs 1st. read more

We went there with the hope to buy our first car and has communicated with Raymond through email for 2-3 days. However, the new car we are looking for has been in the store for over 6 months. There are even dirts and an obvious dent on a brand new car. But when we communicated our concerns with the dealer, we were told we are "simply looking for reasons to dislike the car", because we brought 4 friends there and stick with a small dent. Just purchased a used vehicle from this dealership and it was the worst experience. The only thing that kept us there was the salesman Raymond. He was nice but unfortunately the process is broken. After negotiating the price, rate, payment, etc. which took about two hours, we had to wait for Finance for about 4 hours. Was told they only have two finance people at both dealerships (Cadillac & Suburban). That's ridiculous! When I finally got to the finance person, he kept complaining about how long he had been there and how he hadn't eaten all day. Although I felt bad, I don't think it was appropriate to complain to the customer given we did not have lunch or dinner because the process took so long. After being treated horribly at another dealership in Pasadena, that isn't worth being named. This place was a whole different story. Never did I feel pressure or animosity from any of the employees or workers here. Brandon from sales sand Casey from finance, both were professional and upfront in regards to everything. Brandon was friendly, knowledgeable, and polite to both my wife and I. I can honestly say if he was not, we most likely would have kept looking. I called Friday night to check the availability of a truck on their website. Spoke with Tony, truck was there ready to roll. Drove 100 miles to possibly purchase the truck even though it was not exactly what I wanted, it had a load of I was not interested but most of what I wanted. Arrived at opening, spoke with Tony, drove the truck, said I will take it only to find there was a $13k markup over list price, then Tony bragged to me that they mark up Escalades $30k!!!! I was pretty pissed that Tony did not let me know that the night before when I called. Tony swapped me to Anthony, his boss, told me all the dealer frills they added on for the markup but that only totaled about $4k, I kind of expected this since Covid hit dealers so hard, but $13k???. So I walked, in our car driving away and Anthony came out to see what I would do on it, I came up $5k over list since all the dealer stuff had been added. After much paperwork we made the deal. When I got home I found they slipped in a few extras, $699 for 12 months of nitro tire fill, which costs them about $8, I have a nephew who works at a dealer, he told me, then $699 for key fob insurance for the fobs that cost $600, go figure that out. I have purchased 47 vehicles,driven way over a million miles, this was by far the most unprofessional dealership ever, salesmen yelling at each other, service people yelling at the boss, people hanging over the booth we were in, speaking loudly on their phone. I sent 4-5 emails, called Tony and left a message, finally the GM emailed me to see how the sale went and I let her know how bad it was, well right away Tony calls me, says he cannot do anything, Atnhony is not there so he sends me to voicemail to Leo who is the finance guy who does not pick up. I want to share our awesome experience we just had at Suburban GMC, my daughter Karly and I have been speaking on the phone with the sales Manager Joe Patterson, Internet Manager Julie Frisch regarding leasing a new 2020 Terrain. It all started with a call with Joe, my experience on the phone was amazing, Joe was very helpful, knowledgeable and polite, he asked me if it was ok to have his internet manager find the terrain I wanted and he would work the numbers for me. Julie was a pleasure to speak with and worked hard for over a week trying to accommodate us, between different cars and payment options. We finally agreed on the Terrain and payment. Last night we decided to go to suburban GMC and lease Karly her new car, everything they promised on the phone was on point. Car was washed, gassed and ready to go, all numbers we had agreed on prior were perfect. This place is what gives car salesmen their bad reputation. It was a classic bait and switch situation. They repeatedly told my husband and I that they were being 100% transparent and showing us all of the numbers and were working to find us every possible rebate they could. The salesman/fleet manager (Sonny) also made sure to make it a point that he has always treated his customers as he would want to be treated because after-all this is a people business and you gain business by recommendations of the people you make contact with. Looking back this was a - let me deny that I do what I am actually doing so they don't catch on situation. Once we felt comfortable with the final cost of the vehicle we said ok lets talk monthly cost for financing. This is when the transparency ended and should have been a red flag to us but we missed this queue (our bad). The 'quote sheet' as I will call it basically had no information on it except the monthly payment and the rate. Typical for a financing situation so nothing odd there. The monthly was a little above what we were comfortable with so we kept on asking for different options. The finance manager (Joe) finally came in and instead of showing us the purchase option we asked for he dangled the leasing option, probably knowing of course when you compare the monthly cost of leasing vs. buying it is less. This 'quote sheet' had about the same amount of information on it as the financing option (price of vehicle, monthly payment and residual). I questioned the numbers because the cost of the vehicle was not what we agreed to but they kept on assuring me that the figures were correct because some of the rebates could not be taken until after taxes, etc. We finally agreed to the lease. We were then taken into another office to sign paperwork. When the contract was printed out and handed to us to sign I again questioned the figures. The person responded by saying he didn't know what was agreed to, this is just what was given to him. He offered to call the salesperson back in, but then said 'let's see if I can figure this out'. He was able to make me feel comfortable with the figure shown as the Adjusted Capitalized Cost and the residual amount matched what was on the quote sheet so my husband went ahead and signed the lease. This was a very different situation than the last experience when leasing a vehicle because with our last lease the person went over every single line item on the agreement before asking us to sign, ensuring that we were 100% comfortable with the terms and understood exactly what we were paying. My husband was upset because he really didn't want to lease the vehicle, he wanted to purchase. He had this feeling that we were paying way more for the vehicle than what we agreed to and to what he wanted to pay. After reviewing the contract if we were to buy the car out at the end of the lease we will be paying $20,000 more than the price of the vehicle we agreed to!!!!!! They are charging us over $12k for 'rent' on a 39 month lease. Talk about price gouging. I was also shocked to find out they do not provide routine maintenance on the vehicle. I thought was a standard thing for dealerships/manufacturers to offer, especially for a leased vehicle. They also never mentioned GAP insurance which again is particularly important for a leased vehicle. All in all I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone unless you don't care how much you pay for a vehicle because you have money trees growing in your backyard. read more

Im blown away about this dealership... my experience started out great with the sales representative who sent me photos to make sure the truck was on the lot. The next day over the phone we started talking prices and the dealership was using there add ons as a bargaining chip which it's just useless crap that they mark up. We filled out the finance form for a business application only and told them that's how we want to run it. Couple hours go by and nobody is answering my texts or calls. I then reach out to the sales representative again and he says they ran it and my score was a 625. They didn't even have my personal social security number. He blatantly lied about running my credit. I called the finance representative again and left multiple messages on an update. Nothing! Couple hours go by and I texted the sales representative and he said to call the finance guy as he's off the lot. I called the GM and he finally got the finance representative on the line and they didn't even run my credit yet... the lack of communication and the customer service from everyone I had talked to isn't where it should be. So, I show up at Suburban GMC and right away Chet offered me water and some chips. I accepted the water. Shortly after that, I met Paul. Paul was great. I was looking for a Sierra 1500 with eAssist in deep Slate Metallic. He found the truck right away. I told him about my experience at the other dealership just a couple of hours before and he said he'll take care of me. He is super knowledgeable, not pushy at all and very helpful. He was helping us with all three brands, Buick gmc and Caddilac and equally knowledgeable on all three. We ultimately ended up going with another car brand but had we stuck with any of these three brands, David Sass at Suburban GMC would have been our go to salesperson. The service manager, Paul is very demeaning to women. My wife literally cannot stand going to the dealership for any service work because of him. The only reason we go is because they have the best deal in town for oil changes. We have tried to drop her car off recently because of sounds coming from the car while driving and it needed an alignment. My wife dropped it off and of course Paul accused her of driving into a curb because we requested an alignment. He tried to sell us a battery saying the one in her car was bad, we did not want them to replace it because the one in the car still had a warranty. Paul told my wife they will not work on the car until it gets a new battery. Apparently it's hard to jump start a car at a service center, that's what Paul told my wife. I'm really not sure how Paul has not been reprimanded for the way he reacts to women and he has been demeaning to my wife many times over the years. I considered buying a 2016 ATS from here. I applied for financing and got hit with SEVEN credit inquiries on ONE credit report!!! I contacted the dealership and they had no explanation. The sales rep eventually reached out to me and gave me the names and phone numbers of a few different individuals in the finance department to reach out to. Calls never returned. Ultimately I am extremely glad I did not end up buying that 2016 Cadillac ATS 2.0T...article after article states they are one of the worst cars of 2016 in terms of depreciation and high repair costs. Again, I had SEVEN credit inquiries added to my Experian credit report thanks to this place. This has caused my score to drop A LOT and I still haven't been given any answers. Credit for being a beautiful facility with snacks that usually gets the job done. I've overlooked a few small things here and there but today I'm sure I'm done getting services here, especially since my lease is almost up. The services always take longer than an hour no matter how small. They have no regard for the client's time. I scheduled this appointment a week ago and also opted to use their "courtesy shuttle" so that I could drop my car off on my lunch break, take the shuttle back to work while they serviced the car, and my friend would take me to get the car after work. They could take their sweet time and I wouldn't miss work! When I got here (10 minutes early), the shuttle left without me, and they started servicing my car without even telling me he wouldn't get back in time! When I talked to the cashier, Donna, her response was that you have to plan ahead and call him a few hours ahead of time. I told her I made this appointment a week ago WITH the shuttle service and she said, "how was he supposed to know be would also be going to Westminester today? Asked her what to do and how we could get past this and she just shrugged and told me to go ask muh service advisor. I ended up being almost an hour late to work. Always great experience! I bought my 2013 SRX there new. That was before they remodeled. The new building is beautiful. Most of my experience there now is getting service. They usually always have a loaner car for me ( usually a newer version of my car) even if I'm only getting an oil change. Jim Olson is awesome. Always very helpful and pleasant. The last visit there were no cars available so I used the courtesy shuttle...he dropped me off at South Coast Plaza and picked me up when my car was done! My vehicle was serviced twice in which it was kept partial day. I made an appointment to come see a vehicle in the afternoon since the salesman, Josh, said that the car is not ready and needs to be detailed/cleaned when I called to confirm availability in the morning. I texted Josh my ETA and he replied back that someone is trying to purchase the car online and if the credit gets approved, the car will be theirs. I asked Josh to let me know if the car gets sold as I am on my way to the dealership to see the vehicle. I get to the dealership and another person told me he went to lunch and won't be back for another 30-40 minutes. Who goes to lunch when you tell the person that you will be there at a specific time? Dean did not even bother come in as he was busy with other customers. Then Kent showed up and low balled me on my trade and said the 0% was not available. All information that would have been helpful the many weeks prior when I was in contact with Dean. I ended up walking out frustrated and extremely mad for no one taking the time work with me and basically then treating me like trash while they made other deals. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The 0% deal came back around and Gary Koch was awesome! If it hadn't have been for him I would never have bought from this place. Everything started so well. I knew exactly what we wanted and negotiated a price with their salesman. He was nice, responsive and found us a good deal. He explained that the car he was selling us was on a lot of a sister GMC dealer in South County, but that they would have it for us the next day at the price we negotiated. He confirmed the price in writing and we set an appointment for us to pick it up at Suburban Buick GMC of Costa Mesa. Fifteen minutes before the appointment, he phoned to say that the sister GMC dealer sold it out for under them, and he felt terrible, but he would make it right. He would work with his boss to get us the same vehicle with the same or better features at the same price that he gave us in writing. Two hours later he called to again say how sorry he felt and asked if we purchase the same vehicle with different features for $1,000 more. I explained that he made a deal and needed to stick to it. He said he agreed and would make it right and would call me back that night or the next day. He never called. I even tried calling him, but he never returned my call. I found a vehicle I liked on the website of Orange Coast Buick GMC Cadillac...a used 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I submitted the interest email from their website and 3 representatives gave me a call to discuss my potential purchase. Since my husband and I live out of town I submitted my loan application for the vehicle on Monday 04/27/15 for a pre-approval. If we liked the car we would buy it without sitting for hours at the dealership waiting for an approval. I told the sales rep that the only day I could not come see the car was Wednesday, due to my son's baseball game, but we would be there for sure any other day. Sales rep David Sass called me after my loan application was submitted on Monday and told me the car was still being inspected and that my husband and I could not come see the car. He told me he would call me back to schedule a time when it was ready and let me know what my pre-approval would be. Tuesday came and went....no phone call! On Wednesday afternoon, I had to call David back and he was almost surprised at my phone call. He said, "Oh yes, Ms Young. I need you to send in more information for your loan application (which I returned very immediately) in order to get the pre-approval. I also need you to send it to my personal email because the servers here may block it." He also shared with me that the car was out on the lot ready to come see...knowing FULL WELL we could not come see the vehicle on Wednesday. I thought to myself..."Why am I (the customer) following through on your (the dealership) job?!?" I received this email this morning (Thursday, 30 April 2015): ----------------------- Hello Ms. Young, I'm afraid that I have some disappointing news for you. Another person came into our dealership last night and bought the 2004 Jeep that you were interested in. Sorry. He told me to find the exact car I wanted and he could get for me. I called around to a few Cadillac dealers and decided what options, etc that I wanted. Returned and told Wilson what I wanted. Went for test drive in a 2015 SRX that was not the color I wanted and they couldn't match the price from their competitor. The Manager strutted over and tried to tell me the deal the Competitor quoted was not possible! ...and worked me to buy a car that wasn't the color I wanted with a higher Price + they wanted $1500.00 more down!! I bought my fully loaded (every option except AWD) 2008 Cadillac CTS here in late 2007 upon its release. However, due to extremely bad experiences with the service department, GM recommended me finding a new dealer to do business with and I did. I ended up me selling my CTS later on and buying a 2012 CTS-V fully loaded (every single option including black diamond paint and yellow calipers) from that dealership. It's been quite a while since then. I figured maybe time has passed, their name has changed, they are local to me, let's give them a second chance as my wife is looking to purchase a 2015 Platinum Cadillac Escalade. After calling the dealership to make sure they had a 2015 Escalade in stock to test drive (we'd obviously have to order our vehicle), we were on our way (though it was quite odd they took so much information from us over the phone before they'd tell us if we could come down to test drive, but whatever). When we arrived, we were directed to Ron Modavis and were told he would help us on the test drive. Here's how the introduction went: "So you want to test drive an Escalade? OK, and after that, are you going to place an order for one?" First off, all we asked about was for a test drive. Immediately you're asking us to place an order for one without even driving it first? This is very off-putting. I'm here to potentially purchase a $90k+ vehicle. Shouldn't you treat me better? On top of that, shouldn't you notice I drove up in my CTS-V and realize I'm a serious Cadillac customer? We go on the test drive. It's mostly silence. There is no explanation from Ron about any features. He just tells us where to drive. As we finished out test drive and our own vehicle inspection of the interior, Ron takes us back to his cube where he explains this vehicle is very hard to get, it will take you three months to order the Platinum edition, you should order now, and it will be a $1,000 deposit to place this order, we do not deal, it is sold at MSRP. We explain to him we're not ready to decide at this moment, but we will be making the decision soon as we're deciding between this and another vehicle. Ron asks what other vehicle are you deciding between? My wife tells him a Ford F-150 Raptor. At this moment, Ron busts up laughing at our choices and says "that's like deciding between a Lamborghini and a, and a KIA!" I look at him strangely wondering if he wants to sell me an Escalade, why is he calling it a Kia? At this moment, we got up and said we are leaving. He continued to chuckle, did not get out of his chair he was so casually leaning back in, did not bother to shake our hands, and just let us walk away offering a non-existent brochure on the Escalade. Ron did not even offer us his card, we offered to grab it ourselves. After this, we headed to Signal Hill to a dealership where we bought my CTS-V and were taken care of extremely well. It's a bit of a drive, but they will be helping us through this process. This was their last chance. I'm surprised I even gave them a second chance. I bought my Escalade new in November of 2009. I have been using Orange Coast Cadillac for several years now. My service person has been Jim Olson. Jim is professional, personable and trust-worthy. I rely on him for good service and I get it. I was disturbed to learn he is no longer working at Orange Coast Cadillac. What a loss! (Thank Goodness I found him at Boulevard Cadillac in Long Beach!!!) I brought my vehicle in To Orange Coast Cadillac for new shocks and also to have my navigation system repaired, which I had complained about before. This system was completely replaced in July of 2011 under warrenty. Imagine my upset when informed that the system would require complete replacement AGAIN and this time was not under warrenty. Unreal!! For the price point of an Escalade I think the system should be of excellent quality and not even require one replacement let alone two. I spoke with my service person, his boss and the general manager. Even though they could see the system had been replaced in 2011 they were not willing to replace it. The system is $1400! First they offered to split the cost then they offered a credit on a new car? Seriously, why would I make any purchase when this is the attitude of the dealership? My business will go to Boulevard Cadillac in Long Beach. read more
